Merry XMAS and best luck with the New Year.
Have you considered helping the needy super market employees? They REALLY need a voice and help.
"Love that phrase: "less OZ, more Kansas." Let's hope that e.Digital management takes that tact in Thursday's web cast... less fluff/hype, more facts/realism."
I wish the same was true for posters here-let's start the New Year with less pessimism and more optimism.
After all, we got the rat, SH, and next we'll catch OBL in his hole.
Economy is up, market is up, we getting the bad guys, weather is good - the glass is more than half full and filling up every day.
Give thanks!
Not me-I receive a strange message that suggests that a file is to be downloaded rather than loading the page. Very, very strange
Did you folks take RB offline
Seriously, the site seems to be down - does anyone have access to RB site?
Apple Computer (Nasdaq: AAPL) once again sparked a revolution when it launched its iTunes music store in April. Listening to the sound of profits, a rash of companies is gunning for the online music market, including Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT), Dell (Nasdaq: Dell), Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN), Sony (NYSE: SNE),Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ), and Roxio (Nasdaq: ROXI). The result: a frightening display of real-time commoditization.
This was clear yesterday when software giant Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and digital media provider Loudeye (Nasdaq: LOUD)announced a new service that allows just about any company to set up a sophisticated music store. The $30 million barrier to entry -- the price of building an online store -- has melted away.
This does not mean Apple's business model will go bust. In fact, Apple readily acknowledges that selling online music is a loser. Rather, it makes money if there is something else to sell, such as iPod digital music players.
But the market clearly thinks Loudeye is on to something. The company's stock surged more than 32% after the announcement of the joint venture with Microsoft. At first blush, it might seem like a valuation acid trip given the miniscule revenues.
But assuming online music is a commodity, it makes sense to outsource it to a company like Loudeye. In a way, Loudeye is a music utility, collecting a fee based on usage. So expect a variety of more deals for Loudeye, which should keep the stock buzzing.
How big of a threat is Loudeye to iTunes? Swap your opinion with your peers on the Apple discussion board.

Cassy-send you compound questions to RP-perhaps they will choose to answer one or more of them during the webcast.
Everyone, wouldn't it be best to stop speculating (unless you have new facts/dots)? - Thursday will be here soon enough
Enjoy the great weather and our country's good fortunes.

The short 2 week interval from the asm to the upcoming 18th webcast, imo, indicates the completion of an important contract which is likely to be in the news immediately before or on the 18th. Hopefully, it’s not only sizeable but important in its being with a major player. The mention of those additional airlines, some of which briefly appeared on the APS website a few weeks ago, could be part of the day’s news features, but not all of it. I look for some twist in the IFE area with either some new business allies (not just airlines) for eDig or some additional strength that APS has built on to serve the airlines with just the entertainment media they’re marketing. I have difficulty believing that APS is going to want to compete with some of the major avionics firms that do much of the commercial fleet ground servicing. I foresee APS being better positioned with developing the liaison with the media and marketing aspects of IFE and eventually turning over the ground servicing of the digeplayer to a much larger company.
The poor audio quality of the last webcast will be remedied and a better explanation of the co’s. need for funds as well as anticipated revenue for the next 12 months will probably be discussed. If all we’re hearing about GWY being swamped with orders is true, some commentary could be made about rapidly increasing add-on orders surpassing all of GWY’s prior sales projections.
How many camcorder manufactures, hotels, car rental agencies would love to sell or rent digeplayers to customers to permit rapid shared portable playback of what their camcorders just captured as well as new movie content?
Good luck to all in reaching their investment objectives.
Post your source for this: "SEC regs require the shares to be registered in order to consider the shorting to be "covered" short selling. "

JimC-I've marked this post and I guess we'll see what REALLY transpires-real announcements of deals and products or nothing but S3 as you and Cassy predict.
I PROMISE to post when we all KNOW the TRUTH!
JimC-have you read Robert's email? Unless you are willing to state that he is lying, your obvious spin is rejected.
E-MAIL FROM robert,
Thank you for your e-mail, XXXX. We have new business developments to
discuss in next week's webcast. Public announcements as well as press and
media coverage of e.Digital and our proprietary technologies and product
platforms are expected which should build upon the success we have had this
year delivering products based on our proprietary technology platforms to
Softeq, Hewlett Packard, Disney, APS, Alaska Airlines, large Asian OEM,
Gateway and others. Please call me at your convenience if you would like to
discuss this further.
Best regards,
Robert Putnam

Webcast and not simply a PR?
My best guess it's a SHOW and tell
Cannot SHOW in a PR!
Gotta go pickup a "kidlink" - later
Chowder-think someting is up here? http://charts3.barchart.com/chart.asp?jav=adv&vol=Y&grid=Y&org=stk&sym=LANV&data...
This one looks like it will be moving up again:

"business" -Commercial, industrial, or professional dealings "development"-A significant event, occurrence, or change.
My bet - a favorable outcome in our commercial dealings will be the significant event announed at the webcast, but you already knew I was the optimist
Are you Robin or the editor for the Batman TV series?
KEY IS IN BOLD, don't you know
You see the glass half full
So much for Cassy's wrong guess: "Thank you for your e-mail, Joe. We have new business developments to discuss in next week's webcast.
SHAREHOLDER ALERT
E.DIGITAL CORPORATION SCHEDULES INTERIM WEBCAST FOR THURSDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2003
Management to Discuss New Business Developments
Off now, "see" you all later and no back stabs while I'm gone, ya' hear?
Where is your quote? And I suppose you never heard that two parties agreed to let one "resign" to avoid the embarrasment of firing, right?
The truth is YOU DO NOT KNOW!
Berry Berry clever
Did E&Y "resign" rather than the suffer the public stigma of being fired? And you know how?
My offer/bet to Cassie in the "Spirit of Chowder/Fred":
If an announcement that is "materially good"[ to be intreprated by Chowder and Fred] is made at or before the webcast, you will limit youself to one post per day for 60 days.
If such an announcement is not made, I will limit myself to one post per day for 60 days.
Deal?
No Cassie, they called the Webcast : " for shareholders, investors, industry analysts, and members of the media to discuss new business developments, provide revenue guidance and address questions"
NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTS - is that clear enough?
Why don't you formulate your questions to be presented since they will be taking questions?
Now. how about answering the questions put to you earlier and which remain unanswered.
Not likely, IMO" webcast for shareholders, investors, industry analysts, and members of the media to discuss new business developments, provide revenue guidance and address questions"
Cassie: do you still bet that we will see a lower PPS given this recent announcement? Why? We are ASKING for your speculation '-)
Perhaps we can hear from Cassie and OWD3 - what do you speculate is the reason for the conference and do you believe that this bodes well for e.Digital and its shareholders?
Cassie and OWD3, get your questions ready now
Wow, what a nice quiet day here
Just imagine: One device that you can use in court (not to mention conferences, meetings, depositions etc.) to check your calendar; cruise the internet (via bluetooth or WiFi); record notes; have access to files and spreadsheets locally on the hd (or from your office via the web); listen to music, take pix and watch better than DVD movies (while you wait for the judge to get to your case) all in the size of something you can keep inside your coat pocket.
I cannot wait! If it has a phone (including WiFi connections) it will be perfect '-)
I want a combo - Q (Moopod etc) + digeplayer (for MPEG4/DVIX etc). Something like the RCA Lyra (so I can download or record music, video, TV etc), but beefed up on steroids=better than DVD+music+PDA!
So I asked RP and he said:
Thank you for your e-mail. The potential products entail the convergence of two or more of our technology platforms into diffentiated devices. They may have some overlap, but they are not expected to be in direct competition. While it is too early to put a timeframe on announcements, we look forward to releasing details regarding these significant business opportunities.
