re: BELFB gilead that is a good point.
re: BELFB I have no idea what they will report, but from a balance sheet perspective there does seem to be enough value to support the stock trading around 12.
hweb re: BELFB It looks like were going to need nelson to step up again.
I agee hweb. I picked up a few at 2.62 for a trade.
hweb do you trust that they will do something positive with the cash?
hweb re: fonr that would be nice.
Sounds messy nelson, but I've always trusted your research.
Thanks nelson for lighting a fire under Belfb. I've accumulated too many shares. I'm glad it is starting to bounce to keep me in check.
2morrows I own a much smaller position then I once held. I trimmed my position due to the impact of the chip supply on truck production. I'm still a fan of the company and hope to scale up again at some point.
I accumulated a decent position in SVT in 2020, but I'm guessing I sold a lot of them to Baird on the recent run up. I'm currently out of the stock, so it will probably become a low float runner.
hweb re: FONR
One thing that frustrates me about FONR is that they don't pay a dividend. They had 19m in cash flow from operations and a 7.6m increase in cash for the year. They could institute a 10% dividend, and they would still have plenty of cash flow available for expansion.
Their significant cash flow and balance on hand make them attractive as an acquisition target. It would be prudent for them to institute a dividend to make that less likely.
re: FONR I'd like to add some detail in regards to FONR growth. Fy 2020 and FY 21 revenues were both impacted by the pandemic. The 4th quarter of 2021 scan volume was 47.8k while the full fy was 178k. If you annualize the 47.8k then fy 22 could be running at 191k. FONR also continues to add to it's scanner capacity. In FY 22, they plan to expand their MRI centers by 10% which should increase the quarterly run rate as fy 22 progresses.
FONR may not be a high growth stock, but the pandemic is clouding what has been a steady pattern of growth. In 2011 FONR had revenues of 33m. In fy 21 FONR reported pandemic restricted revenues of 90m.
SGMA proxy has been delayed for 3 weeks.
re: FONR
I agree that it is a relatively good place to park cash. With nearly $7 per share in cash and $1.45 in eps. I think a very conservative fair value would we in the low 20s. With the 1st quarter earnings 6 weeks away. I think the earnings will bounce back in the 1st qtr given that the qtr won't be affected by year end adjustments to the tax rate and non-controlling interest allocation.
re: FONR operating results were solid. The problem was the quarter had a 48% tax rate, and the non-controlling interest was allocated 67% of income after tax as opposed to 25% for the year. If you normalize the quarter for the annual tax rate and non-controlling interest. I calculate .34 for the 4th quarter.
BTuna re: BELFB I added significantly to my position as well.
nelson I've sold most of my DXYN.
KIK I hope you're right. It definitely looks like a bad investment on the surface.
SGMA's book value should probably be adj for the acquistion dilution. I haven't done the math on what that would be. I'm back on the sidelines for now.
hweb re: belfb I've been adding more shares on this pullback. It is now one of my top 3 holdings.
re: IMMR I've sold most of my shares as well. The premarket volume makes me wonder if that could be a mistake.
BRN is making a move after posting fairly cryptic earnings information.
AWX posted a bad qtr. excluding the gain on ext of debt.
hweb good call on CMT. .48 eps
re: SGMA I tried to dust off some math skills, and based on some quick calculations. I'm arriving at 1.69m net new shares being issued to arrive at a 28% ownership of a total of 6.05m shares after the merger.
gilead re: SGMA you make a good point regarding the 28%. That % does seem to suggest that a large portion of the 2.4m shares will be allocated to SGMA's shares of WAGZ.
hweb re: HDSN I still have a small position. There is definitely some seasonality to their business, but I wasn't expecting this big of a quarter or I would have held a lot more shares.
CVGI 9.01 posted a good qtr. .33 excluding refinancing and other costs. I picked up a few shares.
hweb re: BXC That was an incredible qtr. I sold my shares in the after hours. That may be a mistake, but lumber prices have dropped so much that I decided to error on the side of caution.
re: sckt I grab a few in the after hours in the high 6s. I sold way too early. After netting out the tax benefit, I calculated roughly .09 in EPS.
SGMA is running in the after market.
re: SGMA I picked up a bunch as well.
maxluke1 re: ARTW
I've trimmed some as well in the mid 4s. It is hard to predict where these low floaters will top out, so it is never a bad idea to lock in some profits.
Crazy times hweb. I bought a couple thousand shares in the mid 6s. I sure wish I was smart enough know they were worth $40 a share.
I should have bought CARV back. It is up over $20 today.
KIK I don't know much about that stock, but it could be a real sleeper.
re: frd
Hot rolled coil futures jumped 8.9%. Up to 1810 from 1662 a new high for the year.
re: SVT I have no idea as to the validity of those allegations, but I do agree that this Company has not been managed for the benefit of shareholders. If it leads to new leadership, i'd consider that a victory for shareholders.
Ugh on the LDL buyout. I had a decent position in that last year, but I exited once the vaccinations started rolling out.
I added a few more GENC this morning.
