Me too Dolphin!
Hope the encouragement helps. I know the wait is wearing on everyone, me included. I think it's human nature to assume the worst when all the facts aren't known. But I am continually reminding myself of the known facts. When all of what we do know is taken into account, it seems more likely that something good is happening at MJ#1. Cowboy, I hope you and all who read here have a great day!
Good morning my friends. I hope this day finds you doing well. I hope this helps so we continue to wait for word from Zion.
When Faith Wavers - In Touch - July 24

James 1:5-8
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

When Faith Wavers
James 1:5-8
If we believe that God is who He says He is and will do what He has promised, why do so many of us habitually waver in our prayers? Instead of exercising bold faith, we come to the Lord “hoping” He will hear us and answer our requests, but we’re just not sure He will. With this kind of thinking, we cannot expect to receive anything from Him.
One reason we are so prone to doubt is that we fail to see God at work in our circumstances. We asked, and nothing happened. But the Lord is not some cosmic bellhop who jumps in response to our requests. He sees past, present, and future and knows the right time for every answer. His invisible hand is already at work on our behalf—arranging situations to accomplish His will, opening hearts,
and preparing us to receive what He wants to give.
Another cause for uncertainty is ignorance. If we don’t know God’s ways, we will be disappointed in His response. All too often our prayers are accompanied by expectations of how He will work. When He fails to intervene according to our timetable or anticipated method, we start to doubt. But placing our faith in the Lord and trusting in His good and perfect ways gives us stability as we wait for His answer.
To overcome doubts, spend time in the Word to learn God’s principles and ways. Then you’ll begin to grasp what He wants to achieve in your life and how He goes about it. Examine your past from a biblical perspective—faith will grow as you see the unexpected ways He answered your prayers.

Congrats JRyan! Glad to hear things are going better than anticipated!
Parson. I also want to express my sincerest thanks for you taking to time to go and take these pictures. Unfortunately, Zion management has been extraordinarily quiet with regards to what is happening at the well. This group of investors here have been trying to piece together what could be happening through the experience of oilmen on this board. If you have the time during your visit, additional pictures taken looking down into the worksite would greatly help us understand the current state of operations. Your pictures today were certainly of some comfort seeing the rig, flare stacks and storage tanks still in place. As KyOil stated, if the equipment were gone, that would be a bad sign. Again, my deepest thanks!
Are you looking for an in-place estimate or a recoverable estimate? I think KyOil had an outstanding post the other day where he took the knowns of this well along with some reasonable approximations and calculated a potential of 1.2 billion barrels for this well
As far as the entire field potential, we don't have enough information to make an educated guess yet. So, if I had to guess, I would guess a field that would have the potential to change the global energy economics.
Good morning my friends. I was out of touch much of yesterday as my wife and I traveled from Carolina to New Mexici for a much needed vacation and a chance to visit with some family. We got into Taos late and awoke this morning to a mountain paradise! (It's 55F this morning Ratbike).
Anyway, in anticipation if the pending PR, I thought I'd repost this that Tisdale sent out a few days ago.
A request for the successful completion of Zion's MJ#1. Good news for Israel on the 70th Anniversary or their re-birth.
We come before You lifting You up in praise.
By Your awesome Grace,
You give us the desires of our hearts.
You know us,
You created us,
You know our hearts,
You guide the work of our hands,
Be not Silent.
Do not be Still.
Give ear to our supplications.
In Your faithfulness answer us,
And in Your righteousness.
Grant us the desires of our hearts.
We have worked all these years pursuing the desire You gave to us.
You have guided the work of our hands.
Let Your work appear to Your servants,
And Your glory to their children.
And let Your beauty be upon us,
And establish the work of our hands for us;
Yes, establish the work of our hands.
Now we stand at the pinnacle of these efforts.
We have arrived at a crucial point in time.
Do not let us stray from Your path.
Do not let us go anywhere without You.
If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.
For how then will it be known that Your people Israel and Zion have found grace in Your sight, except You go with us?
This is the greatest desire of our Hearts,
That it be known that You have made us successful.
That the work of our hands are blessed by You,
And that it bring glory to Your Name.
That You are with us and it is by Your grace that we succeed.
Our greatest desire is our discovery reveal to the nations who You are,
When You Sanctify Your great name, through us.
Let the nations know that it was You when You are hallowed through Israel and Zion before their eyes.
Let it be known by the characteristics of the discovery that this could only have been done by You.
Grant us the desire of our hearts,
The desires that You gave to us.
The desires we have pursued, in Your Name, all these years.
Let Your hand remain upon the MJ#1.
Let us perform our testing safely and efficiently.
Let us present our discovery to your people Israel.
Let us bring Your great gift to Israel on the 70th anniversary of their re-birth;
Born again by Your great love.
For we are Your servants.

Homebrew. Appreciate the link. True that on June 29 the days to cover was 4.85. But that was with an avg. daily volume of over 1 million shares. This weeks avg. daily vol is around 250k. That means time to cover would increase proportionally. Hence my 20+ days estimate.
Tisdale, I can imagine KyOil being able to pick up a new green tractor pretty cheap if a ZN short owns one! ??
But it's an extremely high days to cover.
My understanding is that days to cover is the key. With the current volume at the current price we're somewhere north of 20 days to cover. Rule of thumb is anything over 8 days to cover is considered difficult, thus a high short position. Shorts are in a very bad position right now.
I like it. I'd certainly chip in
Thanks again. A definite EE double team! Have a great night!
Ratbike, that may be the post of the year! ROTFLMBO!
Thanks JRyan. But your post the other day aligning Mr. Powell @ FT with Mr. Probes and of course our favorite no-hair-bear and the almost perfect timing of events between their activities made what was going on plain as day. I hope the SEC gets a hold of that one
Could almost make a state transition diagram of that sequence ;-P
Tisdale, Thank you as always!
I found his comments about the alleged source of complaints that led to the SEC investigation confirming of what we here have speculated. I was reading the dumpster fire that is the Yahoo ZN board this afternoon and could just feel the panic that is setting in with the shorts. They are absolutely desperate, in some cases begging people to sell. Over 6 million shares short and volume today was 200k. Can you imagine the distress they feel?
And here there is peace
JR, you are truly a like minded pilgrim. Everything you have walked through I have experienced too. When it comes to dealing with those attacking ZN, I saw the movie "The Aposle Paul " a few weeks ago and it really helped me reset. You encouragement to wait on His timing is wise. May the desires placed on your heart come to fruition very soon!
Tell me how to contribute and I'm in
My guess is that the current market cap is a forward looking estimate based on anticipated future revenues discounted for the risk of not producing a commercial well, then further depressed by the 6+ million shares shorted.
Those companies were picked because they have similiar market caps. Nothing to do with revenues or earnings
This was an interesting twist to our discussion about the gifted shares, but OK.
I was going to attempt a back of the envelope calculation at what Zion has actually spent per well, but I know you would know better than I. So let me ask, in your opinion, how much should Zion have spent on exploring and drilling 5 wells in Israel over 18 years?
And by the way, I'll concede that Zion has many cost inefficiencies. Every company does. My question (and I think your assertion) is Zion has grossly mismanaged shareholder funds? Are you able to provide a should cost analysis?
This board vetted the potential of insider training with regard to these gifts. But someone posted a link to a website that has reviewed the SEC and court decisions with regard to gifting of shares when a corporate officer may possess non-public material information. The long and short of it is he has to be careful but it's not against the law.
However, you keep making my case for me. Why would he do this unless he thinks the shares are going to go up?
I hope you, and Porgie and clean are all holding at least a few shares long so you can be blessed by Zion too.
This board discussed the gifting of the shares and it's timing. To be brief, because gift taxes are paid by the GIFTER and not the gift recipient, and because an individual can only gift up to $15k tax free per recipient per year, it's actually better from a tax perspective to gift shares BEFORE you would expect a huge INCREASE in the share price. It would be stupid and cruel to gift shares right before an expected decrease. He knew about the SEC investigation when he gifted those shares. If he thought there was any substance to the SEC investigation or that it would have a significant impact on the price of the shares he gifted, he would have just waited.
Come on guys. Now you're making the case FOR Zion, if logic and common sense (as well as some tax planning strategies) are applied.
PS - Victor's gifts are exactly why I'm confident that the SEC investigation is a tempest in a teapot and also why I'm excited for the coming 11 days and the expected announcement of a DISCOVERY in Israel
I would disagree with you, but I guess it's how you want to define success. For a wildcat exploring for our in Israel, I think they've had many successes in this endeavor and therefore are a success
Have you asked Mr. Taylor?
If you're suggesting that Mr. Taylor has some inside knowledge, I think that's a stretch given the SEC announcement this week.
I certainly welcome the opportunity to learn. It's our curse as engineers, eh?
I believe that John Brown, Victor Carillo and Dustin Guinn have been called to pursue energy independence for Israel. I know I've been called to support it as have many others here. But I also acknowledge that my trust is in God, not Zion Oil. If they are successful then He gets glory. If not, I am already blessed more than I deserve and He gets the glory. I certainly have been blessed by many on this board, and He gets the glory for that too. Any way you cut it, He gets the glory. Whether oil and gas is found or not, taking the chance to do something that has never been done before to help a people who desperately need it seems pretty noble to me
While I am not a geologist or geothermal engineer, I am an electrical engineer. And I've seen numerous charts where the temp and pressure incurred in this well fall in the HPHT category. And combined with the oil flow (why would they need flow testing equipment if there is no oil flowing?) make the potential if this being commercial high. Is there risk? Of course. As you have stated in previous posts there could be too much water. It there may not be a large enough reservoir for commercial production. I acknowledge and agree that these are risks. But the fact that these are even risks at all means that there is the potential of a commercial find. Which means that Zion's leadership is not incompetent and John Brown is not running a scam. If you're honest, you have to agree with that
And yet what's going on at MJ#1 would seem to contradict your assertions. KyOil asked last week if anyone could identify a HPHT well with oil shows that went into flow testing that did not wind up a commercial well. Geo, do you know of any?
Thank you for the reminder Steve. It's funny because I was sent this this morning as well:
Be encouraged. Today, you renew your strength. Today, you get your second wind. Get renewed with Isaiah 40:31...
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31
Don't forget hope today.......
I'm sure Zions mission seems like a fool's errand to many, but we know better
Is this just a list of critiques you've observed or do you personally believe this list to be true?
JRyan, I believe Mr. Powell has already decided Zion is an affinity scam. All his articles are biased in that direction.
And you're right about his background. I've asked shorts in other forums if they really want to base financial decisions on a guy with a Russian lit Masters? Seems more risky than, say, investing money with a wildcat oil driller with an experienced leadership team who have drilled a HPHT well that has oil shows and is flow testing said well.
Of course, I'm just a f'ing moron according to one jerk on Twitter.....
I think you should call Joel Rosenburg. He'd spin that into his next novel
I think the fix was in and Mr. Probes knew in advance
Hugo, what do you base this assessment on? Details and facts please
Welcome Watermelon. We here on this board welcome diverse opinions and lively debate, but you must bring verifiable data to back your positions.
Having said that, the author of the FT article is a guy named Jamie Powell. If you read his bio you'll see that 1) his background education is in French films and Russian Lit. 2) He's been writing for the FT for about 3 months.
In addition, he's written a few articles about Zion where his hypothesis seems to be that Zion is an affinity scam. Coming from that perspective, he proof-texts (selectively quotes from) various Zion SEC submissions, using out of context data to support his hypothesis. In my opinion, Zion was never given an open-minded assessment by him, and as such is guilty until proven innocent in his mind.
And you'll find Mr. Powell is not alone. You'll see that in full view today after the 8k Zion released last night
Again - Welcome
I posted this, regarding the Probes Reporter, on June 2nd. What happened today was so predictable. This has been in the works for months. With over 6 MILLION shares short, the bear trap is been set!
So I've been doing some research into this alleged SEC investigation and the Probes Reporter who has unearthed this investigation. I have developed an opinion as to what's going on based on what I was able to find today.
First, according to www.probesreporter.com, the probes reporter is basically a hired gun. For $1200/yr, you can become a client of this service, then ask them for a report of any open, ongoing SEC investigations regarding your particular company of interest (BTW - for a cool $20,000/yr you can get the deluxe Probes treatment). Apparently, once you've paid for your subscription, Mr. probes reporter then files FOIA requests with the SEC regarding any open investigation of the target company. According to the SEC.gov website, Probes Reporter has filed ~500 FOIA requests since October, 2017. Here's an example of one he filed regarding Bojangles, Inc. in December 2017 (lol)
[tag]https://www.sec.gov/files/18-00851-T.pdf[/tag]
Second, according to the SEC.gov website, the SEC enforcement division:
Quote:
obtains evidence of possible violations of the securities laws from many sources, including market surveillance activities, investor tips and complaints, other Divisions and Offices of the SEC, the self-regulatory organizations and other securities industry sources, and media reports
.
An SEC investigation can be initiated due to:
Quote:
Common violations that may lead to SEC investigations include:
Misrepresentation or omission of important information about securities
Manipulating the market prices of securities
Stealing customers' funds or securities
Violating broker-dealers' responsibility to treat customers fairly
Insider trading (violating a trust relationship by trading on material, non-public information about a security)
Selling unregistered securities.
Now just because there is an ongoing investigation doesn't mean that Zion has actually done anything wrong. At this point, if there is an investigation, depending on the timing, Zion may not yet have even be aware there is an investigation ongoing as:
Quote:
All SEC investigations are conducted privately. Facts are developed to the fullest extent possible through informal inquiry, interviewing witnesses, examining brokerage records, reviewing trading data, and other methods. With a formal order of investigation, the Division's staff may compel witnesses by subpoena to testify and produce books, records, and other relevant documents. Following an investigation, SEC staff present their findings to the Commission for its review. The Commission can authorize the staff to file a case in federal court or bring an administrative action. In many cases, the Commission and the party charged decide to settle a matter without trial.
It is probable, especially given Mr. Probes voluminous FOIA requests of the SEC (and he's not the only one), the SEC may have opened a case, but has not yet even started an informal inquiry, much less a issued any subpoenas.
So, my hypothesis is that, some time ago, someone, quite probably a short, but could also be a former disgruntled employee, an anti-semite, or some other disgruntled party, called the SEC Enforcement division with a complaint or a tip against Zion regarding one of the common violations above. They then hired Mr. Probes Reporter's service, which then triggers an FOIA request. Once Mr. Probes Reporter get's his vague response from the SEC, he then uses it to declare that the company is under investigation, and by subtle suggestion either corrupt or a fraud, resulting in Zion's corresponding price drop. Mr. Probes and his clients walk away with a tidy sum from their short.
What I would like to know is if Mr. Probes Reporter (and his clients, who for that cool $20k can get "private meetings & conference calls" with Mr. Probes himself) shorts a stock once he (and his clients) receives the affirmative response from the SEC of an investigation, prior to accusing a company of being under investigation on social media. Would this activity be illegal?
2003. Used some profit sharing money to buy.
Married, I have thought about your question. I know anticipation is high and all signs point to this being a significant discovery, so please don't think I'm flip-flopping. But What would you do IF:
Zion issues a PR that says while MJ1 encountered oil, flow testing results prove the well is not commercial. Zion will proceed with 3D seismic data collection to determine a location to drill the next well in order to determine the best possible opportunity for commercial production.
Would you stay and re-up for 3D seismic and another well? I have wrestled with this question.
