DC, sorry, I cant tell ya. Guess we will hafta wait to see how this 100 patient trial finishes. Depending on its success/failure we will have a better idea whether the FDA will approve the device for general use.
DC, as far as I know, CYBX received approval for trial on only 100 patients. They may implement "full" measures on these people. However, this is old news. I am not sure why the market reacted. It may come down just as fast.
Hey BB and DC!
Actually I have nothing to add. I just didnt wanna be left out of all that heying :)
Good trading boys. Now if only that darn EYET and ELN would perk up
Gentlemen, do any of you follow Corgentech (CGTK)? What do you think of their TF Decoy technology? Apparently two phase III trials are in process and one or both results may be released by year end. One involves preventing vein graft rejection. TIA.
DC, two smoking plays in one week! Congrats on NFLX. Wish I had paid more attention to expiration plays this week. Been too preoccupied with performance/non performance of EYET, ACL, and AGIX.
Thanx gentlemen for your input. Much appreciated.
Gentlemen, several posters on the LJPC Yahoo board contend that MMs are walking down the stock in advance of certain FDA approval. Do you buy into that? Is the stock down simply because of market forces or due to manipulation? Is an FDA approval a given? TIA
DC, great trade with SNDK. Couldnt believe it would go down this much more.
ACL releases earnings on Oct 20th. Also, either the 21st or 22nd phase III results of RETAANE will be released. RETAANE, like MACUGEN (EYET), treats aged related macular degeneration of the eye. Looks like the run has begun! I am already positioned with Nov. 75 calls.

Gentlemen, have you any comments about LJPC's Riquent? Looks like pending FDA approval/nonapproval by October 16th will move this stock in a hurry. TIA
Bullet, the AGIX Oct 22.5 calls went as high as $15.30 Tuesday morning following Monday closings news release. You could have had them for <$3.00 2 weeks earlier.
Hi gentlemen. Is there any credence to a post on another board that ALCON is slated On October 22nd to release phase III results of Retaane? TIA
Hi Bullett. Thanx for your comments. Yes, I was very satisfied with Jennas picks. After she went on her hiatus my YTD slowly drifted into the red and only went green recently because I lucked onto AGIX. The cost for her subscription was negligible. You would make it back many times over. Jenna, however, isnt expected to resume her service until the new year.
Best
BB, thanx for the input. I am only interested in MRK becoz their ARCOXIA, another cox-2 inhibitor is on deck for approval by the FDA by end of month. Otherwise, I think MRKs stock should be avoided since we dont know how many legal claims they will face.
Thanx again Greenhughe. I am not a paid subscriber so I cant send you a private response. Dew's opinion certainly is helpful. Guess it wont be a slam dunk. Paying .65 for some Nov. calls may still be a good risk/reward play.
Thanx Greenehugh. This is important. MRK could recover the 25% haircut by months end. I imagine ARCOXIA is a shoo-in. Hope MRK has done the homework on CV effects.... Gemmers might consider putting on some NOV. or JAN. 35 calls--really cheapies.
Thanx DC. I didnt take advantage of my own advice becoz I was looking for a bigger drop. The eventual recovery even surprised me. I am still holding some Nov. calls bought last week. Hope you got in a few licks.
AGIX! embroiled in controversy this weekend because of a Barron's article quoting the head of the Cleveland clinc, one of the two clinics conducting the CART II trial, as saying that the phase II trial of AGI 1067 is "bogus" and that "the SEC should investigate AGIX". This is a real bizarre turn of events. However this could turn into a nice buying opportunity. If the stock takes a nose dive, you might consider buying some otm October calls (<$1), hoping for a quick recovery (in case AGIX officials counter the charges). If the Nov. otm calls arent much more expensive, I may consider them. But be prepared to lose all your premium if in fact this Dr. Topol has a legitimate case.

Thanx DC. Hope you were in on it too.
AGIX! holders. Congratulations all of you. Hope you have locked in some gains. What a glorious day!
AGIX! appears to be starting its pre-announcement run. The date is not fixed and is speculated to come at the end of Sept. or the lst week of Oct. AGIX has AGI-1067, a drug derived from an existing drug, Probucol, a cholesterol lowering med which is now defunct becoz of arrythmia causing side effects. Scientists were able to modify the Probucol molecule to beget AGI-1067. lst phase trial demonstrated the unique property of reducing plaque in arteries. This 2nd phase trial hopes to determine the extent and significance and it is this result we are awaiting with bated breath. A 3rd phase is already underway to determine whether AGI-1067 would reduce mortality and morbidity. MGT must be very confident to begin this phase even before the 2nd phase outcome is known.
Bottomline: Best play is to buy the October calls (like 22.5 or 25) and buy a 1/2 position of puts (17.5 or 15). The odds at this point strongly favor a favorable outcome. AGIX will either rocket to 40+ or shrink to 10-.
Pls do your own DD
NIX that buy recommendation on VTS. Just realized the co. were about to announce a .07 to .10 per share earnings rather than the expected .26!
VTS dropped after hours becoz company is delaying report due to an oversight. I think this a tremendous buying opportunity. I plan to pick up some October calls!
Thanx Tramposo and BB!
BB, do you recall the url for the cheapie online brokerage JP in the chatroom had mentioned? Is it http://www.onlinetrader.com/ ? Thanx!
BB, I dont know if this rally will last but it certainly has been given a shot in the arm by MSFT's one time dividend announcement. Many shorts covered AH today but hedge fund shortcovering tomorrow should really spur this market forward. I am glad I am only short NEM and CYBX. Otherwise, I'd be up the creek. :)
Thanx BB. I hope the indice gap down tomorrow is the "nudge" CYBX needs. It could make my day and week! Cya at the open.
No, BB, I was almost flat at the close, aside from my CYBX puts. I didnt like the way things were going but I wasnt confident enough to take too many short positions. It turns out we may be in for a short turn decline, at the bottom of which I will surely buy.
Profitace [aka Mack1 :)]
I was wrong about Yahoo. Sold my 32.50 call this morning at 1.55. The stock action suggests the stock will sell off on earnings announcement.
I picked up Yahoo 32.50 calls at $2.60. After hours Yhoo rose nicely. It could recover today's losses by Tuesday. Great call, Jenna!
Jenna, great call on COGN too! Afterhours it shot up to test new highs. I think this one is a keeper!
Jenna, great call on OVTI!!
Jenna, would you buy CECO puts ahead of tomorrows company presentation? It seems this scandal could eventually bankrupt this company.
Jenna, I sold my EASI call for a modest 1.2 points gain 2 weeks back. Luckily I bought the stock back 2 days ago, just in time for today's breakout. Mucho gracias!
Jenna, thanx veddy much for the CYBX recommendation. Now I have got the puts as you suggest. What is your first target?
Jenna, thanx for the tremendous time and effort. Wish you and your family a great vacation. Cant wait to see ya back at the helm in September. Feel free to drop a gem or two on this board when you happen upon a significant opportunity. :)
Jenna, thanx for your response. I was lucky to exit the MATK June 60put at $4.50, a healthy $3.40 net!
Does anyone use tradestation.ca? Is it true they charge only $1 an option contract? That is amazing. Currently BMO charges me $5 a contract. If they are that ridiculously cheap I better switch brokerages.
