There is however one question outstanding from my previous post.
I can understand you not telling traden but why didn't you inform TG and MI directly of your decision to sell ?
I would have thought they were your biggest supporters, I'm aware that some chose not to sell on your advice.... is this also the case with TG and MI ?

Hi TG, as I said before.....I was very lucky after taking a big hit on NHL.
I took a big gamble and put what I had left on SKG at 1.9c.
I guess what worked in my favor was at the time the ASX was just entering a big run and that helped me.

I wouldn't advise putting all your eggs in one basket as I did, but I think you'll get your dosh back over the next 6 months.
I don't know much about ANL, but I can tell you that I have never traded them.
I have always seem them as a piss and wind stock....but perhaps they are turning the corner ?

I dont know if your holding any MXS, but I'd take some...they will go higher.
I'd also consider short trading AvV because they will spike on the figures soon to be released (I'm long because my average is 97c).

I'm still baffled as to why Smuggler didn't include you and MI in his "sell email" or maybe he did and you chose to ignore it.
He didn't email me, which I found dissapointing....but perhaps he knew I was not in the stock at the time ?
I still dont understand why he just didn't come out and say that he sold until after the MSN news ?
Why didn't he email all of the faithful longs....let them get out....and then say publicly that he had sold ?

NEW YORK, October 7 (New Ratings) – Analyst Safa Rachtchy of US Bancorp Piper Jaffray downgrades Looksmart (LOOK) from "market perform" to "under perform." The target price has been adjusted to $1.15.

Shares of Looksmart, an internet directory and portal service provider, are currently trading at $3.02.

According to US Bancorp Piper Jaffray’s’ research note published this morning, Looksmart recently announced that the company and its biggest distribution partner, MSN, have parted ways. The analyst mentions that MSN was responsible for 65% of Looksmart’s revenues in 2Q03. MSN’s decision to switch from the directory model to algorithmic solutions led to this development, the analyst reports.

US Bancorp Piper Jaffray is concerned that the end of the MSN deal would hamper Looksmart’s ability to get new clients. The analyst believes that Inktomi is unlikely to be launched in the near term. Looksmart may target middle market search companies now.

The EPS estimate for 2004 has been reduced from $0.15 to -$0.13.

US Bancorp Piper Jaffray downgrades Looksmart from "market perform" to "under perform."

There was quite a few shares traded at around 3.4 to 3.5c a share on it's last rally, so I was concerned that if it was full of short traders theres a chance the stock could slide back to those levels before the company does the 1:5 consolidation....because traders may not be interested in that faze of the company.

Mate, its your call....I'd hate to say sell and find out that AOL have just bought them or something....but this is the worst news LOK has ever released......you would think that Looksmart would attach some sort of "but dont worry" statement on the end of the announcement, but they haven't.

If you really want to hold em long term, I'd sell them for 12c (because IMHO they will go lower)....and buy them back at 10c.

I blew a shitload on OSH and NHL but got it all back buying other stocks like SKG AVV TIM etc etc.

It's not your fault TG, you and others were buying on the "fact" that MSN SAID they would renew with LOOK.....this is why the pricks renewed until January...so they couldn't be sued by investors.

I agree with Smuggler LOOK is worth FA without MSN, but you can bet the story is not over yet.

I have to agree Samson, I dont even trade LOK any more because the company is too cryptic....every release seems to have a two sided meaning which creats uncertainty.
Sometimes Looksmart baffles everyone e.g. we talked for a year to try and work out WTF they were doing with Wisenut ?

Another one of my pet hates is they have $50 million in the bank and not a hint of a Div.
Many of us worked out after a while that If you dont trade LOK you just dont make money, even shareboy......lol.
