Thanks for posting that article, although a little old, the message still applies. It’s apparent this company has great potential if management can bring the aforementioned products to market. I’ve been buying some on dips, for a possible medium to long term hold.

And that big block was for 4.0824. :)
I hope we can inch up and at least stabilize in the 4's, until we get some good news.
I bet the shorties were anxious today.

Almost same for me. In @ 2.48, out low 3's. Worst case I lose profits average down and ride it back up. This is old rehashed news and the outcome is always the same. These peeps never cease to amaze me. I'm currious as to the insider buying when they knew the price was going to go down.
Friday should be interesting.

Got a fill @ 2.39 toward the end of trading as it appeared to level out. Also ready to add more on retail panic in the AM.

With Improved Tax Credits, Biotech Firms Look Unstoppable
The Bedford Report Provides Analyst Research on StemCells & Aastrom Biosciences
Press Release Source: The Bedford Report On Tuesday December 7, 2010, 11:25 am
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - 12/07/10) - Biotech companies haven't been impervious to the economic downturn but they have endured better than most. This is partly due to the fact that demand for pharmaceuticals remains fairly constant even during recession. At the moment there is plenty of optimism regarding the Biotech Industry as firmer pricing and new products have improved sales and earnings trends this year. While healthcare reform is likely to shake up this industry, gestures of goodwill from the Obama administration have curtailed some concern. The Bedford Report examines the outlook for companies in the Biotechnology Industry and provides research reports on StemCells, Inc. (NASDAQ:STEM - News) and Aastrom Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTM - News). Access to the full company reports can be found at:

Recently the Obama administration pressed congress to revamp a research and development tax credit by increasing it by about 20 percent and making it permanent. The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, PhRMA, as well as the Advanced Medical Technology Association expressed support for the tax credit.

A recent survey from PricewaterhouseCoopers found that life sciences firms believe that industry-FDA relationships have improved since Obama took office. In fact, 80% of those surveyed said in the last two years the FDA has provided better guidance about its expectations.
In recent FDA-Biotech industry news, last month the FDA famously approved a human trial of a therapy developed from embryonic stem cells, which will be used to treat individuals suffering from an eye condition that can lead to blindness.

Ok, that makes more sense now. All the pieces are coming together. A little more time, and a lot more patience. :)
Thanks SC.
For some reason they don't want this to break 4.50 right now. Every time the 4.5 came up they run trades at 4.4901 and then drop back to 4.49.
JEFF is right on top.
Ok, thanks. You are right, they seem to be holding that 4.40 line pretty strong!! Need to force those short to cover.
sweet crude, many thanks for your valuable reasearch. And, at least now with the secondary offering out of the way retail investors don’t have to wonder about its effect on the pps. I would like to know how much of the secondary offering could be placed through large blocks directly into longer-term hands through their institutional placement desks and how much will actually will hit the retail market as this would dictate the daily pps until completed.
I will add more should it for any reason fall below the 4.40 mark.
SP, is this the link you want?

Manipulation expo here today. We trade millions of shares and maintain a .05 spread. There is a big sell or a big buy order they are trying fill. Frustrating, but in the long term it's only a blip on the radar.
JMHO
Same goes for me as well. Too much upside to let this one go for $5.
Hey Dragon, I’ve been waiting to see if we got more attention from institutions once we broke into the 5+ range. If institutions are buying in, we should stabilize above 5 with higher volume and less manipulation from the mm’s.
JMHO,
I'll provide one reason:
Monopoly + Untapped demand + Intrinsic value = $Profits$
Now watch & learn
Seems you are on top of this one. A lot of accumulation at this range today. Added to my core position for the next possible run-up Let’s hope buying pressure continues.
They definately know what they are doing. They held 16 mm shares through approval. Now they're just taking a little icing off the cake. ;) I hope the rest is in the books for a much, much higher price.
They had an impact every day, and they stll own almost 10 mm shares.
It,s a given that all the longs realize we have a 2, 3, or 4 bagger with AVNR.
Amazing, that even with the new upgrades and still the MM's hold it down. In time the pps will move north, but for now, if someone were to leak out that a certain pharma were considering a buyout at a price anywhere close to analyst estimates, the pps would go through the roof.
JMHO
All this is, is MM games and short covering. With projections of $10 - 15, we should not be trading below $5. Let's see if they finish covering and run back up before close today.
Well said OC. I expected 6-7 today with spikes, but it's appears to be range bound today. We may bounce back up again in the afternoon during powerhour
If you follow dipsticks "AF" advice we can assume you are burned and therefore should call AVNR for some samples of their product for Monday; you'll need them.
Oh, one more thing. I'm gonna make an obscene amount of $$ in the coming days. Lol
I was thinking exactly the same way this afternoon. Wait, and if you see a bear raid of such magnitude; it's a lock. Regardless, we prevailed and now we reap our rewards.
Whoooooo Hooooooo!!!!!!!!! Come on Monday!!!!!!
We probably see some huge blocks go through in afterhour trading as T trades?
They may have covered about a third or half the short positions today. Probably the big boys getting out and the rest will face the music on Monday.
Anyone know how many shares were traded since the drop?
We have analysts rating this as a buy with target prices ranging from $8 - $12. So, if don't have the big pop, which we all want, the future still will be promising. All this with FDA approval ofcourse.
I've been glued to my computer all day. I leave for 20 minutes to get my son from school and BAMM. I looked at my phone, saw 1.60 and almost had a stroke, I thought we had bad news. Got back in time to add some more cheapies, so all is well now..... I hope.
Big wall at $3 but coming down fast. It appears that we go into decision time at a standoff, bulls Vs. bears. I’ve placed my bet, all in, and feel confident that we prevail. The power hour might be a good indicator of outcome.
Good luck to all longs!!!!!!!!
IMHO the predictions that we get from analysts are based on a host of variables such as potential earnings, PE multiple, etc. Therefore, analysts work with long term predictions, and as for the near future after approval, well….your guess is as good as anyone of us.
We may see another shake before eod. We know the MM tactics. Run it up, drop it back down, break the spirit of the weak investor, and use the opportunity to cover.
Good news IMO, and it appears to have a positive impact on the pps. I speculate that it is a hint toward approval. Let’s think about it. If you were the company and had knowledge that approval was not imminent would you sell prior to decision at a higher price, or wait and sell after decision at a much lower price? And again, the market’s reaction seems positive. Let’s do this already …….. pay up shorty.
My take exactly. All the research quoted in the article has been available for a long time and now, just a few days prior to FDA decision, this guy comes out with obvious agenda of spreading fear among retail investors. This article was bearish anyway you read it. Even his bullish comments had negative connotations. LOL
I wonder how low this must go before the shorts begin covering?
Bottom line, if you feel comfortable with you DD, your decision should be locked. Personally, I’m waiting to see how low they can drop it, if we continue on this path, prior to Friday and make my final add prior to decision.
Good luck to all longs and if we get our favorable decision, we’ll have enough money to take care of that new gray hair.
I'm holding all until after the decision. IMHO, I don't think we will see a big spike prior to FDA. This one is trading almost identical to ALXA, however the outcome will be different. :)
Again, this is all MHO.
Nice steady buying today, for a change. I added almost every day last week, actually raising my average, and still waiting to add more if opportunity presents itself. Let’s see if we maintain our gains today into the close.
Good luck folks, this is going to be epic, if we get approval.
Yeah, volume increasing again, let’s hope we carry on to tomorrow.
It will be interesting to see if folks will buy in tomorrow to lock in their bets for next week.
5's up...... I told you folks something was brewing. :)
Just an observation, but it appears that there were a few more MM's jumping on the B/A today. Volume was low to merrit any extra participation. Maybe they know something or just wishfull thinking in my part. I guess we find out in the next few days.
