NEWS OUT
ANN ARBOR, Mich., – May 7, 2019 –Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, Inc. (OTCQB: KBLB) (“Company”), the leading developer of spider silk based fibers, announced today that, through its subsidiary Prodigy Textiles, the Company has signed a new 5 year lease on a factory, expanding its production footprint in Vietnam. The roughly 50,000 ft2 facility in Quang Nam province is expected to play a major role in supporting the Company’s increasing production capacity of its proprietary recombinant spider silk technologies.
“Our team in Vietnam, led by Mr. Kenneth Le, has done an excellent job of scouting, selecting, and negotiating the terms of this deal. With its close proximity to the necessary mulberry fields, and easy access to shipping ports, this facility will serve as a springboard for Kraig Labs introduction of spider silk into the global textile markets,” said COO Jon Rice.
The Company expects to begin transferring its technology into the larger factory from the temporary facility that Prodigy Textiles has been utilizing since December of 2018.
Hi Banana,
Not sure why you find it so perplexing really, there may not be news tomorrow, there may not be news until next week. In this scenario the share price may drift down and those who sold can buy more shares than they would have had otherwise, or if they do not wish to have more shares they will have realised more cash for those shares than if they had held.
Each to their own, trading can be rewarding, trading a small percentage around a core holding even more so as you often get the chance to acquire more shares and even if the share price continues to go up you're still winning either way ;)
Have to agree with Es1 here, massive run up so far, more to come but sense a pullback coming....barring any huge news out this week obviously :)
Hi All,
Been watching this company on and off for a few years now, after today reading through all the recent PR's etc. I have a question I'm hoping someone out there can clear up...
The recent purchase order(s) for equipment:
The Board of Directors approved 7-figure purchase orders in February for specialized high-output manufacturing equipment, selected after exhaustive testing, design, performance evaluations, and engineering
A seven-figure purchase order for high-output manufacturing equipment for integration into the SolarWindow partner plant at Triview Glass Industries.
Thats volume hit 1 Million in the first 5 mins or so, price still rising at 0.135
NOW AT 0.13 :)
0.124 to buy at open....
shame I didn't get that top-up last week but should be a decent day!
No worries, completely understand.
Today's PR confirms it, it also doesn't state when this occurred so I guess we can safely assume they were released a while ago.
Cheers
well played sir.
Jetow, my email header section looked a bit strange also, just had to scroll down a bit
Hi Yankee, do you have evidence of this? not that I don’t agree it’s possible/likely just we haven’t seen anything official...
News out, hiring 2 additional directors, also looks like confirmation worms are with Prodigy...
https://www.kraiglabs.com/kraig-biocraft-laboratories-to-expand-corporate-board-of-directors/
<< KBLB owed Notre Dame almost $1/4 million>>
I am aware they owed more than $8000 I was pointing out that you stated it was in relation to the army contract/sales, which it wasn't, the amount was really due as part of their collaborative research agreement, as I mentioned.
<< ND got sick and tired of the excuses and threatened to revoke their license agreement for global commercialization rights. >>
You have no evidence that ND made any threats to do such a thing, you have merely stated the terms of an agreement, this is not evidence, you've completely fabricated this, just admit it...
<< No, it wasn't at a "premium to the current share price". The warrants were for 6 cents a share for 2021 and 2022, and 8 cents per share for 2022 and 2023. So Kim only expects the share price to go to 8 cents in another 4 years. I would hardly call that a "premium". >>
The placing was at a premium:
Under the terms of the stock purchase agreement, the Company issued shares of its class A common stock at a price of $0.06758 per share
I suspect you are wrong.
If we have no PR “for months to come” I’ll eat my hat, but I strongly suspect we’ll have news within a few weeks.
Not facts Webslinger, mostly opinions mixed in with a few fabrications.
1 - "It looks like the relationship between KBLB and the Army is over."
Here's the official line:
"The Company has been in communication with the contracting office and is working with them as they determine the best path forward."
Not a stretch to imagine that this best path would involve Kraig/Polartec jointly creating materials for military contracts, as per the PR:
"Initially developed for specialized military applications"
"In joint development since 2016, Polartec and Kraig are applying the performance characteristics of spider silk into yarns for military-grade textiles"
"providing best-in-class textiles to our Nation’s military personnel"
So doesn't really seem like a big problem to me if the initial contract is not continued....
2 - "The silkworms have been sitting in a Vietnamese government installation for the past 4 or 5 months. Vietnam has not allowed KBLB to mass produce yet. Vietnam will have to approve mass production, and that might take many months or years (if it ever happens). "
So you're stating you have no idea how long it will take, it might only take a few months and if it's already been 4-5 months....
3 - "There is no production in the U.S. Only research"
Not really accurate, we have pilot production and yes, R&D. We wouldn't want to produce large volumes in the U.S, as its clearly too expensive, and there's no local expertise/infrastructure (hence Vietnam).
4 - "KBLB is extremely low on funding. Every year they have to dilute shares to pay the bills"
Thats what pre-revenue companies do and it's why they list on stock exchanges in the first place! The last $1million dollars we received through share placing was at a premium to the current share price! sounds like someone has confidence we're going places. (likely investors who are aware of the current status in Vietnam)
5 - "Notre Dame is supposed to get a cut of KBLB profits (since they are the original owners of the IP). KBLB owed them a good amount of money (from the Army contract)"
I believe the royalty agreement is for 2% of net sales, if indeed the army contract falls under the agreement Kraig would have owed Notre Dame 2% of $401,620, so around $8000 dollars, not very much is it really?.... the money they owed was mostly in relation to financial support for collaborative research, Notre Dame were, quote "excited" and "pleased" to be issued shares, and they are now worth circa 50% more than they were a month ago!
This statement of yours is just a complete fabrication:
"So ND basically took KBLB to task and threatened to remove the IP (which would have made KBLB worthless)"
Please provide evidence of this or admit you have clearly just made it up and made out as if it's a fact.
6 - "The latest PR re: Polartec stated that they had a partnership. That is all."
Yep, and we've been working with them for 2 years, pretty good news to be in a partnership with a company who has these customers wouldn't you say? : https://www.polartec.com/partners/brands
7 - "KBLB spends about $1.8 million per year and currently has NO income. As of the end of last year, KBLB has accumulated a deficit of almost $27 million."
Why is this a concern?, we've been a pre-revenue company up until this point, its taken a lot of time and effort to get to where we are, that's why things are finally getting exciting! also, pretty sure we can offset that deficit against profits and reduce our tax bill when the contracts and cash starts flowing in ;)
Well firstly I don't really have a problem with us remaining a "penny stock' given that this term describes any stock under $1.
Hope has provided all the relevant new items, production volumes won't come until mass production is up and running, we are overdue an announcement on that front, delivery dates will follow for any initial contracts/sales.
6 months isn't exactly a long time in the investment world, and yes it could well be this long, depends what you consider a "true increase in share value" ?
Welcome to the board Vintage, I see you just joined ihub today! your first post ever! congratulations.
Can you expand on your views? would you not consider the recent change in share price from 6c to 11c movement?
Many Thanks
You did make a prediction...
haha, yeah you're right - it would, though I'm only adding another 25% of my current holding so would probably be ecstatic if we hit .20+ this week. Would forget the top-up though!
Have had my share of the cheap shares with a circa .03 average, a purchase now will make a dent in that, but I guess that's the price paid for the re-assurance of major 3rd party validation!
You're right in saying that fractions of a cent are not worth holding out for but 15-20% more shares would be, think I'll wait and see how this week unfolds.
Thanks Mojo, appreciate you taking the time to add some perspective!
Thanks es1, I'd be very happy with anything sub 10, and yes agree its highly unlikely we wait more 3 weeks for the next PR.
Thanks Hope, yeah I'm thinking .105 might have to suffice, will see where we're sitting at close today, would hope to see this before Friday.
I do agree the next news is likely to be punchy, especially with all the extra eyes on us after the Polartec PR.
Thanks Banana,
Looking forward to the next PR, and as you've mentioned it surely has to relate to production and confirmation of Vietnam approval.
I agree it is highly unlikely Polartec would put out this news without strong assurances or evidence that mass production is imminent.
Medium/long term I completely agree we are going places, just hoping/expecting for a drop over the next week or so without news. Hopefully I'll have time to load up before the next PR.
GO KBLB!
Always good to seek other perspectives when making decisions.
Agree that technical analysis can only get you so far on this stock and that news is clearly the driver, but some on this board have far more trading experience than I and may have valuable insight.
Also, it stings a bit paying twice what I could have a few days ago!, so would be re-assuring to hear that the consensus is a slight pullback (in the absence of news).
Short term forecasts requested!
Thinking of pulling the trigger to add to my holding, very interested everyone’s opinion as to where the price will go between now and the end of next week.
For my part I do feel this will drop back a bit in the absence of news as it has in the past. Perhaps with an absolute low of around .085, though do think there will be a lot of support around .10
Just trying to time my purchase as best I can, any input greatly appreciated!
It’s about what I expected to be honest, happy with 9M+ shares traded around the .10 range helps build a floor for the next leg up, also hoping yesterday’s news will be dispersed and digested over the weekend and will lead to further progress next week.
Agree on all fronts, hope you're still around when we hit a quarter ;)
Mojo, you out? :)
Couldn't be more excited about todays PR, probably one of the most important in the history of KBLB.
Know its been mentioned earlier, but everyone needs to look at these partners, all of these are now accessible as our initial target market:
https://www.polartec.com/partners/brands
These are massive brands.
Make sure you scroll to the bottom where it also shows all factions of the US Military :0
Ouch looks like a very bad day to be short on KBLB.......
Care to give us another useful update on shares traded at the end of the day?
Haaaaaaaaaaa
Oh please give us some sympathy Dragon, I’ve been crying for 10 years, how about a hug?
Hi Hope,
Where are you getting the $20-$50m sales figure for the pilot from?
I’m aware of the $50m investment cap for phase 2, but haven’t seen any figures for sales forecast.
Thanks Truth, very interesting reading, a brief look at the DOE’s website shows they have a very wide remit.
Exciting news if indeed they are looking to progress a contract involving spider-silk composites for vehicles.
Funny that you read a lot of 10k’s, daily, but 99% of your posts are on the KBLB board, the others can’t be very interesting....
What are we planning with the Department of Energy? any thoughts?
I like this part the best:
“The Company is also continuing to pursue additional contract opportunities with the Department of Defense, Department of Energy and other governmental agencies.”
Don’t do a lot of short selling myself (suspect you don’t either!)
But I’m pretty sure the trades you mentioned would result in a 90% profit not 50% as you claim.
Care to comment?
Firstly, an $8 share price puts KBLBs valuation at around $6.5 Billion, the global silk market numbers seem to vary a bit but a few reports have put it recently around $10 Billion annually.
I agree we are never going to get there this year without a reverse split, I’d rather avoid this if possible and build towards a share price in the dollars rather than take the shortcut, but there may be good reason to do an R/S if it provides access to major exchanges and funding etc. if the timing is right and although it seems to always be construed as a negative in the right circumstances it can indeed be very beneficial.
Back to the $8 share price ($6.5 Billion valuation). At this stage it seems impossible to many, and it’s never a good thing to get too ahead of yourself, but 3-5 years down the line it’s possible we could have multiple contracts in the 8-9 figure range running and at tech sector Price-to-Earnings ratios this valuation suddenly doesn’t seem so ridiculous and we can get with the right financing and without an R/S.
Hold on to your shares folks.
