Guess one could say that the PPISS may shower Quest with a GOLDEN opportunity that HDC gave them on a SILVER platter.
ACS against PSA screening, Congressional Committee Hearings, PRIME Act w/$650 Million, News Articles….. Can’t you see it.....? It’s finally happened….. We are all witness to the formation of a Perfect Prostate in Screening Storm (PPISS) over PSA testing.
Quest… Timing Is Everything…!! Launch that urine test before this PPISS is over....!!!!
Looks like the article is a year old. Amazing that it took until just recently for the ACS to come out against PSA as a screening tool. Maybe it’s a good indication that there really has been nothing else out there. Come on Quest… LAUNCH IT!!!

$240 Million Market Opportunity for HDVY!!!!
There are 1 million prostate biopsies performed in the US each year - 600,000 initially test negative. HDVY’s prostate cancer test (offered through Clarient Clinical Laboratories) could be used to retest these initial negative results to find the purported 150,000 "False" negatives. That is $400.00 per test X 600,000 tests = $240 million Market Opportunity!

Has anyone seen this? It was posted on the Yahoo board.
Is anyone at the company working on this?
Vermillion moving back up after anouncing:
Medicare Establishes Reimbursement Coverage for Vermillion's OVA1(TM) Test
I wonder if this caught the attention of anyone at Quest or HDVY:
"$100 million to develop more specific blood and/or urinary tests for mass screening and prevention"
Not sure about the timing on this but I suppose if Quest were to launch, it may be possible that some of this money could be used to subsidize a mass screening.
I may not be close on this but my guess is that Afyymetrix developed technology using neural networks rather than SVM. A friend (who recommended HDVY to me) made a big score with a company called Hysek (may not be spelled correctly) that made similar diverse technology application claims. That stock went from sub dollar to over $120 per share! This goes back maybe 10+ years. Have you ever heard of a hedge fund called Long Term Capital? I have a call in to him to see if he can set me straight because I could be way off on this.
Talking about news, shouldn't we expect to see the 10-K on or before 3/31/10? I think there's a good chance we may see more news before they file.
<It appears to me that supply of available shares has diminished significantly>
Renman, If you are correct about this, the next piece of news may have a better chance for a higher spike in the pps. In other words.... THIS THING IS READY To EXPLODE!!!
Sorry, forgot about Fartstein and the shorters out there.

Woman who lived frugally donates $7 million to alma mater
She took a job at nearby Abbott Laboratories, where she would work as a secretary for 43 years.
It was early in her time there that she made a decision that would secure her financial future.
In 1935, she bought three $60 shares of specially issued Abbott stock and never sold them. The shares split many times over the next seven decades, Marlatt said, and Groner reinvested the dividends. Long before she died, her initial outlay had become a fortune.

Good questions. With the lackluster reaction to OVA1 yesterday, I also felt some doubts creeping in but was able to recharge with the following:
1) Clicked on to Steady T’s message (#5421) for a mental reset.
2) Checked the latest postings on the Yahoo board for some fresh inspirational thoughts, which included:
a) Reminder that Vermillion just a one hit wonder compared to HDVY.
b) Rumor that mgmt talking to congressional committee about our test.
c) Rumor of quick completion of SVM cell phone test and FDA 510K fast track.
Could be other events that will take the pps higher as we wait for Quest.
Was wondering if you could ask for a shareholder count from the transfer agent the next time you check the O/S. This may be an interesting metric to watch as we wait.
Also… The dangling carrot may be a good thing if it keeps you in your seat with the belt buckled until blast off.
My hope is that Vermillion Inc (OTC:VRML.PK) PPS will continue to move higher and not sell off on this news.

From the SVM Capital Press Release:
"The composite of the four indices was up a total of 19% while our new SVM model was up over 20%, with lower risk. Again, the new SVM model outperformed the indices with lower risk."
Outperformance with less risk sounds good to me. I agree, given what has happened in the markets, this could be the sleeper SVM application. Look forward to updates from Dr. Moore.

I think I can say that I share your vision.. "another day towards our goal". It was an interesting day for me because I'm starting to realize that there appears to be some very "heavy hitters" buying. I'm talking about investors that are putting away positions of more than a million shares! Can't help but think that if the company keeps making good progress, these investors may become into it for the long haul (like us)! At some point the warrants will go away (this Sept.) which will help make the Fartsteins' of the world go away and give Dr. B & Company a nice chunk of change to operate with and give the shareholders a great ROCE. Then we can start talking about the company implementing a share buy back program "Mr. Gallagher spent close to fifteen years on Wall Street as a securities and business transaction lawyer. He went on to become a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. (NYSE: GS - News), New York, NY. He also assisted numerous companies in strategic buy backs of their stock." Just something to think about. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Still buying on dips.
Wow... Welcome! Very impressed and pleased to see such a commitment to the same company that we have chosen to invest in. I first started buying in 2005 and have held on since, buying on dips as things have started to happen. Haven't sold any yet although wish I did during some of the recent spikes. Can't say my level of acquisition is the same as yours but feel patience may help me achieve a great return in the long run. Curious to know if this is a new position for you, etc.? GLTU
Excellent! So we may possibly see something like the following in the months ahead:
1-HDVY Signs Pancreatic Cancer Test Licensing Deal on a royalty based, worldwide co-exclusive basis to Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (NYSE: DGX) and Abbott (NYSE: ABT).
2- HDVY Signs New Breast Cancer Development Licensing Deal on a royalty based, worldwide co-exclusive basis to Quest Diagnostics Incorporated (NYSE: DGX) and Abbott (NYSE: ABT).

Rumor has it that Mark A. An Attempt at Clarity Regarding the Tranche 2 Warrants
The company has the right to call up to 50% of them.
The excercise price is $0.19
Warrant holders (if called) must purchase shares of restricted common stock or forfeit the right to convert
Exercised warrants may not show up as OS because the shares that are issued by the transfer agent, after the checks have cleared, may be restricted under rule 144.
Please see my previous post (#4789) regarding the similar issue of the Tranche 1 warrants.
We should see exactly what has happened in the next filing.

Bob, this is what I was referring to. Looks like the company called the Tranche 1 Warrants on 11/7/09 (after the 30 day period ended 11/6/09). It appears that there was a deadline of about 10 business days for the warrant holders to exercise of forfeit by 11/19/09.
From the 10Q filed/effective 11/16/09:
Under Note I – SUBSEQUENT EVENTS
In addition, as previously reported on our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2008, in connection with our 2007 private placement, we issued warrants to purchase 51,538,822 shares of restricted common stock at an exercise price of $0.14 (the “Tranche 1 Warrants”). Pursuant to the terms of the Tranche 1 Warrants, the holders must exercise fifty percent of the Tranche 1 Warrants if the market price for the Company’s common stock is $0.17 for a period of thirty consecutive calendar days, which occurred on November 6, 2009, or forfeit the right to acquire those shares. On November 7, 2009, we exercised our call rights under certain of the Tranche 1 Warrants. As a result, the holders of the Tranche 1 Warrants who received the Company’s call notice must purchase 16,012,464 shares of restricted common stock or forfeit an equal number of Tranche 1 Warrants. As of November 13, 2009, 6,241,928 shares of our common stock have been purchased in connection with the Company’s call of the Tranche 1 Warrants, and we have received $873,869.92 in gross proceeds from the purchase of the common stock. We have also received non-binding commitments to purchase 1,697,142 shares for gross proceeds of $237,599.88. By November 19, 2009, all holders of the remaining Tranche 1 Warrants who received the Company’s call notice will have had to elect whether to exercise the portion of the Tranche 1 Warrants called by the Company.
Don't recall seeing an 8K for the Tranche 1 warrants. Maybe it was in one of the Q's. Please post a link if you see it. Thanks.
Thanks Bob. I agree with your cash calculation but I would question if there is a choice of the holder to either exercise or let the warrant expire. Thought I saw that somewhere. Maybe we can get more clarity from the company.
Re Tranche2 Warrants from the last 10K:
Private Placements
The holders must exercise fifty percent of the Tranche 2 Warrants if the market price for the Company’s common stock is $0.24 for a period of thirty consecutive calendar days.
What I find so amazing about this watershed of news is that its not just fluff or BS. The content is remarkable!
In the past 4 days we have had news with the following significant content:
(1) SVM Capital is successfully demonstrating higher returns with less risk.... and the learning machine (SVM) is continuously improving on it!
(2) A BOD change that brings in the expertise of a heavy hitting M&A guy yet they get to keep the advise and important connections with Dr.Michael Hanbury (access to the Spectrum Laboratory Network)
(3) The addition of an expert in data mining and machine learning to help expand upon there field of operation.
(4)Placed in top 1% of 1,600 companies evaluated with a metric correlated to business performance, and therefore predictive of risk-adjusted returns, over the intermediate and longer-term. Plus the issuance of another significant patent with connective reference to the upcoming launch of OVA1!!!
Hard to believe that we are having difficulty holding 0.25 today.
Unfortunately, I think we are going to have to suffer through the downside of the existing warrants which were issued when the company may not have had the best choices available when it came to raising working capital. Hope we can overcome those who may be working against us today. GLTA

Making Partnerships Work in this New Era of U.S. and Global Healthcare Reform
Healthcare reform in the coming years will mean far more than the health insurance reform now being finalized by the Congress and the Obama Administration. It will involve different types and levels of reforms, including FDA, personalized-medicine, medical-home and healthcare-globalization. Embracing and then traversing these new and highly complex landscapes, first successfully and then profitably, will require innovations in science, communications and behavior modification, as well as the creation of new kinds and levels of effective business partnerships.
*
Understand healthcare reform now and what it will look like three years from now
*
Learn what key roles reform in the FDA, personalized medicine, medical home and healthcare globalization will play
*
Understand how to incorporate your partners’ and customers’ perspectives into your sales force effectiveness (SFE) strategies to engage more effectively with them
*
Define scientific imperatives associated with personalized medicine through a case study review and how policy decisions and evolving partnerships can affect them, both positively and negatively
