Wwwweeeeeee!!
The people on this board are too interesting for me not to upgrade my IHub account.
Tonight, I upgrade. Cheers.
Hey Zardiw! I'm on the road currently. Long drive from Toronto to Ottawa. I'll get back to reading and contributing to the board once I get settled in again. This IHub app is great, but not safe to be used when driving!
Hope we see another great day of posts.
Cheers.
On the road again...
See all you guys and gals in Niagara!
Travel safe.
Another feather in JBI's hat:
http://www.gizmag.com/biodegradable-garbage-methane-gas/18765/
I think if one were to quickly read through this interesting article then that person would realize that plastics are going nowhere.
Remember, this article is about the more easily alterable consumer market that bio-plastics initiatives are targeting - and they seem years and years away from getting their ducks in a row.
Signs point to a bright future with JBI.
PS, umiak , want to PM me your email?
Not sure who first compared JBII to SZYM, but I think it's great that we started to do this. This exercise really shows just how big JBI is going to blow up.
The odds of a home run here are quite good. Especially when we start comparing companies that garner similar types of funds - those who want to invest in alternative fuel/energy technologies will make JBI their blue chip. I mean, look at SZYM!
When the market comes knockn', we'll start dancing and "weeee'n"
This stock is looking good!
I've definitely sent this great page you made to family and friends.
I would have never had the patience to get all that so good looking ;)
cheers.
LOL - it is in rhetoric! Seems like the US only latches onto that talk when they don't want to legislate. Big corps are oh so guilty of this pandering...
Ideological muckraking bro!
That's right.
That debate is going on in Toronto right now. Pitting union versus private corp. Early estimates say that there may not be much a difference in total costs.
What's interesting is that half of the city's waste collection will be private in a year or two and the other half will be run by the municipality. The unusual split resulted this way because of legacy contracts after the merger of a handful of municipalities. Toronto is an amalgamation, er, 'megacity'. In two years, the debate will finally be settled. Which half of the city does garbage more efficiently? -exciting! lol.
I don't think JBI has to worry about either scenario. Like the mayor of Niagara Falls (or Buffalo?) said, every municipality will want one of these things.
+ 1 shareholders
This week will be interesting.
I would much prefer that system!
I live in quite a large city though. Maybe impractical?
That's interesting, would be great to get your city, I'm curious now.
That large-small government rhetoric is usually leveraged by the big companies looking to privatize all those wonderful services. Carried out with with arguable results. I mention this dichotomy because it's usually recited without the citing of facts. That small-"big" government talk rarely does good by its citizens.
In Toronto, we now have to pay special surcharges every year just to have a garbage bin! About three sizes with three different prices. We also have "recycling" boxes (all recyclables go in one bin) and tamper proof (racoons) organic boxes.
It's interesting that I see the recycling bins overflowing much more often than garbage bins nowadays.
If people were to realize that most of those plastics actually end up in landfill, I think JBI could go bananas just by that revelation alone.
So much potential here.
Thanks for that!
I kinda like that at idea.
But who's gonna actually pick up the plastic? JBI?
I feel uneasy about that. Kinda just want the company to focus on what they do best.
Or, maybe JBI can just start their own municipal waste subsidiary and start filling their own trucks with their own gas! outlandish? - they would put WM in the ground with those P2O advantages! lol.
They absolutely would, especially when JBI really starts hitting the presses and people see plastic as gold.
"Why should WM be the middleman between the community and a valuable resource?"
Maybe they shouldn't, but I don't think cities and towns are going to revert to their "large government" practises of picking trash up themselves. Not after the privatization shift we've seen in the past couple of decades. Try telling conservative Wisconsin voters that they suddenly have to disband WM contracts in order grow the government! WHa?
I do think the savings will just "trickle-down" through the trash hauling and trash processing contracts. I'm just talking municipal end here. The true beauty of this company at this stage is the "low-hanging" fruit of industrial plastic.
Well, the gov can always legislate it I suppose.
I believe they do that in Germany. You get a fine if your trash isn't properly sorted. I think they have the highest waste diversion rate in the world.
Legislation is largely counter intuitive to American culture though. I don't this would occur.
I believe municipal waste is collected and sorted by non-government entities in most North American cities. Currently, some major Canadian cities are shifting away from city-run union-laboured entities.
Knowing this, it would be hard to imagine WM or any other corporate residential waste hauler is going to redirect their P2O fuel back into municipal use. Just seems overly complicated. I imagine it's easier to simply sell the fuel to large fuel retailers or manufacturers (as JBI is doing now) and pass on most of the savings to the municipality when their trash contracts come to renewal.
Just thinking that a having firetrucks and ambulances lining up directly to fuel up from a P2O spigot might involve a bunch of unique permitting.
Thanks for the quick lesson!
Appreciated.
Google Finance is giving us an EPS of -.25 on JBII.
Do the posted numbers mean anything at this stage in the company's development? Not sure how much focus Yahoo and Google give to smaller companies.
Can anyone here post the actual EPS numbers?
Thank for the PM grant, I gathered as much.
As for small home-based p2o units. I don't think this is where we want to be. We do have a secret catalyst. KFC doesn't exactly sell their seasoning on store shelves.
Plus all the permitting for the consumer market would be a nightmare. People making their own fuel!? Pictures of blowing up homes and melting limbs comes to mind. Followed by swift lawsuits of course.
I much prefer to think of JBII continuing with low-hanging industrial based plastic conversion opportunities, then moving onto municipal curbside waste.
We always have our marine division to take up our day dream time. I don't think our dreams of riches should be oriented towards home-based units. Let's conquer what comes natural to the business before we start looking across the rubicon.
Thanks dude. Wanted to get my "flair" going.
I'm just starting to get into this whole IHub community.
Go JBII.
It's the weekend. So i won't mind cluttering this board with a silly question.
How in the world do I put up a profile picture!?
UGH! frustrating.
Also, can someone send me one of those cool P2O pics so I can get that up.
I know you you long got some Zardiw? BRIG? Rawnoc? Anyone?
Thanks guys.
Hey guys. New to all this. I only started with Ihub b/c of JBII.
This company looks great in the short term and possibly beyond.
Can you clarify "step into it lightly" please.
Good luck and thanks.
Great find...
I was trying to figure out where that third video was posted.
Good going JBI longs - these coming days are about you!
Cheers!
so "company promotion" isn't simply the CEO giving TV interviews?
rather, it's the company hiring promotions companies?
tsk tsk, I don't think John would do such a thing. He's maintained that he wouldn't throughout the life of the company.
I'm new to all this.
How do people in this industry define "promotion campaign"?
I see this bounced around on boards - usually with a negative connotation. But I really don't know what people are getting at when they say it.
Anyone here willing to clarify for me?
Thanks for that!
Cheers.
*mouth salivating*
still waiting for a selfless IHubber to post a link to the video.
On CHCH's website, can't seem to find it anywhere though. Perhaps they post their videos after airing them? Not familiar with all this junk!
So, the segment aired across multiple stations, or were there separate stations doing their own stories?
Thanks!
PLEASE!
ribbon cutting sounds exciting.
Nice heads up you're giving us stocker.
Hope someone on the board knows how to capture and link up the story for all on IHub to see.
-I'm sure the board will pull through yet again!
Awesome words!
Time will be kind to JBI's shareholders.
YES!
LOVE YA GORT!
I think that's a good idea.
This board has, for most of the time, been very constructive.
Yes!
I missed this guy!
Your posts are gold brother.
One hell of a first post! Thanks for adding to the board!
Welcome back.
Are you not allowed on the CAPS? You were hitting the CAPS quite hard.
I believe this board to be a safe and secure CAPS injection site. All that CAPS you using had you seeing yachts my friend.
Barring yachts and CAPS, your next post should be a price prediction - a good use of one's one posting.
Stay frosty my friend, go JBI. ;)
Ah yes, the Sundowner,
That ballet is only $10 at the door.
:)
Okay guys, simmer down.
To more important matters now... is there a list being compiled for the IHubbers we expect to see on the Friday before the AGM?
I would like to get to know some of you ladies and gents while sipping on some brews and taking in the Falls.
Are you already on this Zardiw?
Thanks for pointing that out.
I believe you're the first to do so.
Good eye champ ;)
Good eye tykundegex.
This board always impresses me with the little things it catches.
Which is exactly why I doubt there were ever paid mailers associated with this company. This board would catch it. Simple.
