There is nothing of substance here, furthermore go take it up on the bhrt board. No wonder this is getting deleted.
No phase 2 trials starting yet which was supposed to be a Q4 2014 event. No uplist which was supposed to be a Q4 2014 event. I have a feeling we are in for a big surprise one way or the other. Knowing this company, I have a feeling we are in for some Disappointment and Delays: The real 'DD' that people need to be aware of. I'm ready to buy after the next shake out, just waiting for the company to tell us how bad it is.
Good timing on the buy, friend
Their IR guy on the earnings call must have been amazing lol
And we are way up in after hours, go figure. Will be an interesting day tomorrow.
Well, judging by what's going on, market is anticipating bad earnings numbers, and if that's true we will probably retest 52 wk lows IMO. I'm hoping for a bit of a surprise and a nice pop.
I'm gonna have to go full on captain kirk on you and say "there is probably data" doesn't mean squat. That is an unsubstantiated claim and making any kind of assumptions regarding the data is not wise for any investor. We need to shine the bright light of truth on all statements.
Quoting the Lancet here: " Adverse events were associated with vitreoretinal surgery and immunosuppression." My statement was in response to interstate saying that the cells did not cause adverse events, which is absolutely true, but the procedure did in fact cause adverse events, and furthermore you cannot have one without the other.
We will find out in a few days now won't we
The methodology for transplanting the cells was responsible though. At the end of the day, 1/3 of the group experienced adverse effects after receiving this treatment. Is there an alternative way they plan on performing the treatment? Otherwise you can't have one without the other.
I made some good cash flipping this from low 6 to high 6 during the "did we or did we not uplist"? That was fun. Gimmick is up though, gotta wait for the next shakeup.
If this goes back under 500 I'm applying for a loan to double down lol
We want a winner, not our hat for dinner!
We want a rebound, not a stock that goes down!
Welp, some pullback before earnings possibly.
Ain't quitting yet, what a fun run
The company needs to clear the air. That is the only thing that will possibly induce buying. Has some pretty solid historic support at these levels. I don't see it trading much lower unless deliberate share dumping hits the market one way or the other. I would love to initiate a large position but refuse to do so until it is clear what the heck is going on with this offering. At this point I feel like I'm beating a dead horse though and will try to refrain for the sake of other investors sanity ;)
Well you may get a nice entry point if earnings miss lol. I'm hoping for a reaction similar to Netflix today though... Maybe wishful thinking.
Wow, very interesting. Just read a seeking alpha write up on it. Can't wait to see some formal announcements. Also, I'm debating holding through earnings. Would be nice to hear yours and anyone else's thoughts on that.
Pretty nice, making new HOD's as we hit the last hour. Rally, rally!
I think you're over simplifying, and I don't think you're taking into account certain realities and the scope and depth of what it takes to run an FDA trial. According to the Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development, in 2005 the average cost of R&D for a drug approved by the FDA was 1.3 billion. A very conservative estimate puts 95% of that cost in phase 3. That leaves 65 million for p1/p2 if we base it off the statistical average. So we have my statistical average and an unsubstantiated 3.75 mil a year. Unless you can provide some other data I'm going to trust the numbers I could find.
I just don't get where you're pulling the "expected" 3.75 mil a year. It just seems so far removed from reality.
Link to where he is on their website? All I can find is a blurb in a slideshow on gelookahead.economist.com which is a standard blog. I can tell you from experience that corporate blogs exist only to gain rankings for various search terms to build brand recognition in respective fields.
I'm seeing in the last Q alone that they had 4 million in operating costs, a majority of which was R&D. I'm failing to see how launching several larger, phase 2 studies will deflate operating costs rather than inflate. Please enlighten.
If I didn't hold the science in high regard, I wouldn't be here. Just waiting to see how they plan on *PAYING* for it.
And I could have been a rock star if I only got my big break. Not saying Ocata doesn't have great things going on, but your insinuation here is a terrible basis for any investment decisions.
Man I love shark tank. One of my favorite things is how they rail against people who say "The market for this product is X billion a year, if we could even get 1% of that..." - even if GE predicts a 1 trillion dollar market, OCAT has a theoretical product that still has many years and many millions of dollars to bring to market. By that time, what's to say there isn't another product, or scientific breakthrough, that disrupts the whole market. What's to say there isn't some snafu along the way with the FDA. From what I can gather, the FDA and/or big pharma could sink this outfit if it really wanted to. There are no sure things in this world. I'm not advising anyone to part ways with their investment here. On the contrary, I love this company and what they're doing. But in the words of Kevin O'Leary:
"Where's the money?"
"And for that reason, I'm out."
Haha... I can't even imagine. Just rewatched a Dana Carvey special from 1995 (which I hadn't seen since then and recommend, its on YouTube) and he compares a young child to a 90 year old tyrant: "Now you have two choices here, I could throw a tantrum or you could buy me that expensive piece of plastic!"
I agree. I just found out my gf is pregnant, so I immediately pulled all my risk off the table and consolidated into a pretty massive GOOG position. May be some short term risk but I honestly think Google will pay for my kids college lol...
Lol, build it with what money?? "Where's the money, Lebowski?"
Google has its fingers in some supremely transformative tech and it is expanding its core business into some huge industries. Google is where my money goes for safe keeping and extreme growth. It will start this year, google will be the first trillion dollar company.
How the heck are they going to pay for the extremely expensive R&D?
"Where's the money, Lebowski?"
People postulate the absurd. Just because it is 'IMO' doesn't mean it's a sound piece of information. These forums exist to enhance our knowledge about stocks. Best way to enhance knowledge is to shine the light of truth on all statements made.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Is In Talks To Purchase Mobile Payment Company SoftCard
http://www.bidnessetc.com/32803-google-inc-nasdaqgoogl-is-in-talks-to-purchase-mobile-payment-company-softc/
"We don't have a comment, background, deep background, off-the-record steer, nod, wink or any other verbal or nonverbal response to these sorts of rumors," said a Google spokesperson.
It looks like Google is also looking to capture a larger share of the mobile payment sector. The tech giant may also be eyeing SoftCard’s group of patents, which are a little over 120. With the acquisition, Google will be looking to expand its roots, and add new merchants to its mobile payment service.
Where did you read that? That's preposterous.
Nice, I opened a position of 100 shares at 6.05, lol. I'm anticipating much more short term pain. Next tier down will be 5.90 for me. Thinking 15 cent increments.
Facts? How about a look at the pps. Does that paint a clear enough picture? How about the volume, where is the volume coming from? Screams 'dumping' to me. Everyone is welcome to their own conclusions I guess.
Chuck, no one is going to buy until the company puts out even a whiff of what the heck is going on.
Pyramid purchasing strategy going into effect here. This is just the tip though >.<
Haha, though a small part of me is afraid that the company has had plenty of time to prepare some doozy news and I'll miss a ride. That small part of me buys a few hundred shares at these levels ;P
