Zeev: I have bought a number of your OB's below your predicted OB.
Don't get what? QLGC dictates BRCM trades? QLGC was between 33.5 and 34 from 1 till 2 o'clock.
Damn, you set your stops only a dime lower than your buys?
Damn Zeev, never seen such so many "bailouts" and "minor losses" from you, EVER. You seem to be trading as bad as me. I've sat out since my lucky BRCM run.
Good luck.
I can't follow Zeev. Is there any pattern to his line of thought?
Larry: Did you really buy ELX at 19 this am. Wow someone else is as dumb as me.
Are you friggin' kidding me I would never put a cent into gold. Missed half of the roaring 90's with my money stuck in gold.
Dumped all my BRCM 17.50 calls. Made back almost 10k from Friday until today.
Where is the Head turnip?
I'm not here to be criticized by anyone. I'm here to gain ideas on making money. I have been stopped out of veco three times trying to trade long. Bought BRCM calls to reduce a little risk. $17,500 is a little different than $175,000.
Zeev: Where is BRCM going from here? Bought 100 17.50 contracts on Friday to make up for my VECO debacle. Should I sell at the open? Up about 10k for once. 800k to go.
Thanks Zeev, I don't think my broker can read very well.
Zeev: My broker is insisting on ILA, dividend .70 stock $5.00. Can you look at the balance sheet for me and outlook. My broker just wants to suck more blood and get me to pony up another $50k on a prayer. Send me a bill via PM.
TIA
Zeev: I've been directed to ILA stock is 5.40 per share pays a 1.20 which yields 24%. Company has a lot of cash and derives 80% of revenue from regulated energy sales.
What is wrong with this picture?
Bought VECO three times. Stopped out three times. Can't read a trend for shit. Broker told me he thought VECO to $30 in a month. You said possibly $30 and possibly $10.
If I only hedged?
Zeev: Are you saying that the worst case Nassacre has hit before the Fall Nassacre? I got creamed again on VECO. Was waiting to unload my 401k at 1500 and buy back at 1200. What a let down.
Oh my, what do I do now? sell and wait for Naz 900?
Zeev: Thanks for the GTW tip. got 5k between 3.64 and 3.70.
Zeev: Still bullish on GTW bid 3.38?
Zeev: Stopped out of VECO @ $17.15. sh%t.
Did I have my stop too high?
Zeev when do you think we'll hit 22/24 on Veco? by Wed?
What a brilliant MRK play. That is what I mean Zeev. I missed your MRK post last week and I missed your plan. Is it to late to join you in MRK?
Hey Zeev how does VECO finances look now with this merger.
Thanks for all your help.
Hey redwwod after Zeev brought my attention to VECO I really checked it out. That merger they made seems to blend perfectly with their plan. I give VECO a 90%shot at seeing $30 in the next few months. I bet big but I have my stops in place. I am going to sell calls on Monday to hedge a bit also. But I see this going up 50% easy.
Hope I am not wrong.
Damn right I own the stock. I jumped in head first when you noticed the big drop on Friday, and in a big way. I'm with you Zeev baby. Brushing up on my Hungarian.
You are right Zeev there are no 04 leaps available. Do you think the Jan 03 leaps are too soon.
Thanks Zeev for checking on those options.
Zeev, the trading seems so tempting. If I traded more my portfolio would look better today. I didn't hedge or write calls. Oh hindsight is great. I would like to follow you a little more closely. Your calls are usually so profitable. I would like to make back some of my losses.
What do you think about buying a boatload of VECO leaps 04 and hedgeing by writing calls or puts.
Interesting thread, No Politics, but religious slogans abound between the financial discussions. Never realized how well God and money meld together. <g>
Namaste!
What language is "namaste". Hebrew I suppose? oops hope I didn't offend by asking
Zeev: I am ready to join the club here and donate to your charity. I apologize if you have already answered this question. Before I spend the $79 bucks for a lifetime membership I would like to know if you plan on making this your home? Or will we need to follow you back to SI?
Just got ZRAN @ $19
Thank you all for the Private messages. But I can't respond thru Private messages. Haven't joined the club yet. Saving money for retirement <g>.
Going to try another go here with VECO got 1k @17.45
Thank you Bruce, my financial advisor at Prudential made and lost my money. Oh well. I wanted to cash out in 2000 but bad advise and greed took over. I have been trying to be more proactive in my financial decisions so I started to daytrade a little this year (got worse). Can't seem to grasp Zeev's methods. One thing that would help the traders that follow Zeev is the percentage of Zeevs portfolio allocated to the individual stocks he trades in. I think I would do better if I knew how much to bet on individual stocks. BTW I'm 60 years old. Not "that" close to 70.
Thanks for the kind words LG. I do know how tough it is to trade well. I have been intoxicated with Zeev's SI thread and have witnessed first hand the excellent results Zeev has turned in along many other posters. I need to pay closer attention when I follow Zeev. I didn't do too bad following Zeev's lunch tactics a few months ago. But I couldn't execute my trades and follow the thread in time to realize the gains Zeev posted, eventhough I did make a few bucks. When i left for a day or so I always seemed to lose.
Yep, I made too much and risked too much. Got greedy and am paying a price. I wanted to leave more for the grandkids and that idea backfired.
Just makes me work harder when I should be slowing down.
Zeev: Yes I am nervous although the 401k moved up today. I feel like a complete fool that I missed 3 points today on BRCM. Since 1972 I have invested in stock retirement plans and built up a nest egg to 2.93 million as of March 2000. I am ready to retire now and that same nest egg is worth .97 million.
I've watched your trading for 2 years on SI and have been very impressed. Finally I wanted to give the trading thing a whirl. I've lost an additional 37k since Feb. 1 in this bear market. I don't know shit on how to trade. I've tried my best to follow you but I am not as nimble as you. I always seem to sell too soon and I must set my stops to close because they almost always hit. And by god after that stop hits the stock moves up.
I can't seem to get a grasp and am ready to throw in the towel on this trading idea.
Hey, I apologize for commenting on the Hebrew school thing yesterday. I'm really ignorant on religion issues. I do hope your charity does well.
Looks like I'm working till I'm 70. Just a few years anyway.
>This is a market in which one has to take profits VERY quickly.<
Well said
Wish I was as nimble as you Zeev, Missed this read totally.
