What is the definition of a crash? A one day event? Do all stocks have to crash at the same time on the same day?

Let's take a few examples. FNM was $70, now under $1, GM was a $50 stock, it went under $10. How about F, AIG, FRE, BSC, CFC, LEH and countless others. That brings me to AUY, it has lost over 60% since March.

So does a stock like FNM going to less than $1 define a crash? This entity survived WWII, the recession and inflation of the 70's and the S&L crisis. It didn't survive this time, it was completely destroyed in a matter of less than a year. Sure sounds like a crash to me.

This is a crash, we are in the middle of it. There are great stresses in all asset classes and financial markets. We are now in a period of deflation because our central bankers are always on the watch for inflation. 17 rate hikes slowed the demand for housing and caused values to decline. They were indeed inflated, the problem is that banks monetized that inflated value. The "cashing out" of home equity is the mistake of the century. Banks insisted that you monetize equity rather than just leave it on your balance sheet as an asset.

They have themselves to blame, they were selling the idea and people bought it. Soon enough, 50% of all mortgages will be upside down.

We have been crashing since last November. Have we seen capitulation day? We almost did in March but the Fed prevented it. This is a controlled downward spiral but the ring masters are losing control. We will have an event that triggers a huge slide in a very short time frame and I think it will happen before the election.

America is insolvent at every level, government, the banks and the citizens. We own nothing, everything is credit.

So ask yourself how to define a crash, this looks about as bad as I've ever seen. When the markets started to decline in 2000, at least real estate was moving higher and energy was cheap. We have the worst possible of all worlds to deal with all at once.

So get ready because this is all going down, it may take many more months and years or it could happen in a matter of days.

I took a loss on the stocks i had and lost 500. I dont own any stock but will be flipping them tomorrow. Looks like we are going into some sort of depression. Dont let a stock get out of control if you can.

If anyone wants to get into it i will tell you its best to be in it for at least a few years.. This stock will never fail more then has. Its being treated Very unfair in this market but in time it will turn to be a 50 dollar stock.

Simo is a stock that you want to hold onto and accumulate when you can. That stock will make your portfolio grow / long term

I bought 500 shrs of rdn at 5.50 and I am a baggie. I sure didn't want to hold over night but didn't want to take a loss. I will average down in the next few days. Anyone else plays rdn?
