Okay Es, here as an exemple of the follow, and the question related, that I'm talking about.
On July 8 Kim has indicated that "Kraig is looking to add two talented and experienced individuals to its team with a wide array of responsibilities, ranging from operations to market development".
Did Kraig add those two talented and experienced individuals?
If it did, we do not have any indication of it. To me this is a valuable information because it is a cost to the Company but it is also a step in its development towards production and commercialisation...
Thanks Abomination!
Hi Es, here are my answers:
"As an example, one of the questions I have is what will the industry pay for a pound of MS."
You and I know that we will be able to infer this information from the financial statements, once sales are recorded.
"What exactly is it you expect to hear?"
You know the answer to that, FOLLOW UP...
" I did hear that you want to know what happened to the silk we have given to Warwick.
That information was given to us already. Below are 3 quotes from PRs. Yes, you have to be able to understand what you are told, remember it, and be able to apply it to the other PRs. But the story is there, and it is easy to find your answers."
The obvious was given to us, I can read just as well as you can, of course MS would be used to be incorporated to an existing material or weaved as a new material, that was said on many occasions! As a shareholder I need to know what material, for what company or entity and for what possible revenues for the Company...
Read JUST the bold and you will have the answer to "What happened to the silk we sent warwick?"
Quote:
"Warwick Mills is an innovator with a strong track record of developing and weaving advanced high strength textiles. So the delivery of this first small shipment of recombinant spider silk to them is a very exciting milestone in the commercialization of spider silk,"
Yeah, genes are modified for the eventual commercialisation, worms are breeded for the eventual commercialisation, cocoons are produced for the eventual commercialisation, shipment of MS is provided for the eventual commercialisation, do we have commercialisation, ie revenues? By the way we did pay $66K of rights if you look carefully in the Income Statement...
Quote:
"Warwick is looking forward to developing new textiles in cooperation with Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, and its Monster Silkâ„¢ technology. Spider silk fibers are a powerful new technological approach to potentially opening up new application and markets," stated Charles Howland, President of Warwick.
As I said, stating the obvious is not going to help the PPS and it does not provide information to the shareholders...
Quote:
program has successfully produced a sufficient quantity of Monster Silkâ„¢ cocoons to allow the Company to make the first Monster Silkâ„¢ textile prototypes.
What the heck is are MS textile prototypes, have you seen it? What will it be used for? Who will be using it? Will someone be paying for it? Sending out information that generates more question than answer is not a good information...
"So what is it you want to really know? Or are you actually asking "What happened to the prototypes???Do you feel that question should be answered yet?"
Yes and yes, FOLLOW UP, why would it tell us that it is doing a prototype if it wouldn't be able to provide us with results?
"Will that question be answered if Kim PRd a deal with UA?"
Not necessarely, if the link is not made with the prototypes results...
" If the UA rumor here is true would you want Kim to tell you so we can breech an agreement with our first client?"
A rumor is a rumor, unless it was an affirmation by an external official source (shareholders are not an official source), then I would expect the Company to react...
"Things happen as they happen. You may want your information, but there are reasons beyond your ability to know, that can effect what you are told. Investing in a company REQUIRES you to be able to put the pieces together and make your bet accordingly."
Things happen as the Company make it happen (I know it does not control everything). I don't want MY information, I want the Company to FOLLOW UP on its information, and want facts that will make a difference in MY decisions as a shareholder and an investor...
"If you believe or even think there is a chance something went wrong in any step taken you should have some sort of evidence to make you risk your money right?"
The lack of FOLLOW UP, lead me to believe that things are not going as expected...The only evidence of success to date is the creation of MS and its proven results, which was factually communicated via PRs, publications and endorsment by renoun entities...The PPS reacted very favorably to that!
"Saying "its taking too long" is just a guess based on desire.
If you are a kid in the back seat asking your dad "Are we there yet? How long is it going to take?"
It is not about MY desire, it is about the Companys' desire to talk about COMMERCIALISATION since three years! So yeah, are we there yet!
"If he answers...
"Its 643 miles, and we are averaging 40 mph with 45% of the drive at a top speed of 65mph"
He answered you."
He did not provide us such information, you and others provided part of the information, the Company provided us with information on eggs and cocoons after shareholders had found the info, and eggs and cocoons are only one part of the milestones for COMMERCIALISATION, so if I only know that I'm moving at 40 mph an hour for one part of the trip but I don't know what (or where) is my destination and what is my remaining speed then I'm in no position to make a calculation, so I will likely continue to ask, are we there yet?
"But you are REQUIRED to do a little work to get your answer.
I have done a lot of that work here in the last 5 years ... What is it you really want to know specifically?... that CAN be answered?"
Yes you, as many others, have done a lot of work (and I have provided some relevant information at times, I hope) and I'm very grateful for that but we are all still in the unkown on some key information...
Wow more than a million shares dumped in less than an hour!
Very true!
Bob, a CEO always wins when the PPS go forward, a CEO never wins when the PPS goes down or is stagnent, slight fluctuations are deemed normal.
I guess me too...!LOL
You are right Floyd, but if THE major milestone of commercial production is achieved in five or six months and we know about one or more major clients, then I think I will be really happy!
That being said, one of my concern is that the Company only releases positive information and not all the facts so I can, as a shareholder make my own idea on the current situation of the Company.
Truth,
I have said on many occasions that my investment will be fruitful because I will sell once I have reached my objective (unless there are dividends paid once it becomes profitable), so yes I'm confident, but the lack of follow up by this Company is not something positive. I'm not so sure that we will hear about what happened to that litle bit of MS provided to Warwick, which I think is important...
So, considering the trend of lack of follow up, you are right I don't have much positive things to say right now.
As for waiting six months, I don't think this is a problem, after all, I've been invested since more than four years in this Company! But in the mean time I don't think the Company has made all efforts to keep the confidence of the market, look at the PPS...
Rayo, I don't know where you get the idea that I might be to deep but my investments have very litle effect, if none, on my lifestyle, so I don't invest more than what I can afford to loose!
Currently there is no assurance that Charly will find a way to weave with MS (it would be a great disapointment if that was the case!) and even if he did, how long will it take till he gets enough materiel to have a reasonable volume?!
Funny, if I'm depressed then the market must also be depressed...
For sure but probably not as expected...
Could be that someone knows that there is no news coming...
Really doesn't matter if it is CSC or another shareholder, but sales at those prices are not helping and I whish there was a way to know how many shares acquired below 5 cents are still pending?!
The roof is on fire!!!
Wow someone is dumping hard!
Thanks Zen, I guess Nike would not exclude any new promissing material! It does not mean that they are in discussion with KBLB, though it would be great, if it was the cade!
Not much difference with KBLB, both keep talking about production, without any real progression...
One must have faith in the CEO but one must also consider that the CEO has in more than one occasion deceived his shareholders.
- by talking about several streams of worms but without a follow up...
- by talking about BR that has different qualities than MS but without follow up...
- by talking about a pilot but without follow up...
- by indicating that a conference call would be held but without follow up...
- by indicating that three individuals would be hired but without follow up...
So yes to trust the CEO but not blindly, as of now, in my opinion he owes us a few explanations.
You bet! Plenty of things to PR, the suspense is building which will probably help the share price to move up steadily!
Not much going on today!
Could be, but historically, Nike's prices never really went down even if they had savings on their costs.
Interesting, the product is less labour intensive, yet its selling price is greater than the ones that are more labour intensive.
Nike has a way to screw its customers!
Even if Nike leaves Vietnam, does it really matter if they don't do business with KBLB? And even if they were not in Vietnam they still could use the materiel made with MS from KBLB...
But I doubt seriously that Nike would leave Vietnam, if they do, it will be to another developing country, unless they have completely robotised their production, which is very doubtful, and we would have heard about it, considering the publicity around that company...
It is, but it shows that bids are still far away from moving past the resistance point.
Still nothing about that litle bit of MS provided to Warwick Mills. I guess it will take another six months, because, as we all very well know, this is a cutting edge technology that takes time...!
Oh yeah, I forgot, I should not say we, because many here on this board understand what is happening behind the scene and why the Company is so vague on the information provided to its valuable share holders! Many are very good at decrypting the untold facts and actions...
Interesting bid and ask, pretty far away from one another!
Hi Romans, that's the translation of "Let the good times roll" but a more appropriate translation would be "Profitons du bon temps"!;o)
Mike, the PPS sank from spike of 26 cents to 5 cents...it is not going higher because there is no tangible reason to make it go higher. There were great efforts to keep it at current level, considering the price the shares were sold to finance some of the activities of the Company!
You are not compelled to agree with me, that's the beauty of a blog!
There is few conclusions for me from that article, from that part ( and previous information released):
"Kraig has set up a pilot spider silk production operation overseas in a country that offers a trained workforce for the production of silk. "We've reached the point where we're ready to ramp up to commercial-scale production," Thompson said. "Now, we're raising the silkworms primarily to multiply instead of harvesting them. Each pair of silkworms produces 300 to 500 eggs. We get a new generation roughly every 50 days, so we can go from 100,000 to many millions of silkworms in just a few months and have the capacity to begin pumping material to Warwick and ultimately to other partners.""
- Considering the latest PR and the latest releases from Vietnam, the pilot is most likely in Vietnam, so there is a facility already selected, an agreement signed and production of MS has begun, which has enabled KBLB to provide a small amount of MS to Warwick Mills;
- Considering the latest signature of an agreement by UA ( to be in effect in July 2014) to provide equipment to UND, considering that UA has indicated that they want to use any technology developped in UND and considering that KBLB has indicated to be in discussion with a sport apparel company, the first product to include MS may very well be from UA; and
- Considering the unkown about BR (specially because of the lenght of time related) I think SSM is likely to include it in its product for security and military uses.
In short I'm confident that my investment will be very (if not amazingly!) fruitful!
Sorry I should have read the other post, so you did...
Thanks Army, did you stuck on this part:
"He said the university has asked Under Armour to make Notre Dame its laboratory for new technology."
Sounds interesting and strenghten the belief that UA could possibly use MS in its equipment...
Other than the PPS returning to .054 or .053, probably nothing!
Really, I wasn't at the same place than you for sure! So really, the last PR announced an agreement and a production site? What have you been reading?
Thanks Bigfoot!
Kraig Biocraft Laboratories, which partnered with UW and the University of Notre Dame to genetically engineer silkworms to produce spider silk, expects to sign and announce a landmark spider silk production agreement with the country of Vietnam...
So a major PR is expected.
What happened to those people that KBLB was supposed to hire?
All that in 30 days, that would something, considering the pace that the Company has taken so far!
That is strange...
Lets hope so!
Truth, this is my last argument on this topic. I know very well why there were no dates in many of the PRs and that most of them (if not all) are filled with forward looking statements and it is precisly because it happens year after year that the market has not built any confidence in this stock!
