I use a stop because it will go off no matter what. Stop limit if there is a fast dump the stop may go off but the limit price you need to get may not be there and you will get skipped and be holding the bag. I just use a regular stop. These guys will tell you it is a bad idea but it has helped me not lose a ton of money more than it has hurt me.
