I do not know too much about the CFO position except to say I hope they are able to get someone with enough experience and contacts in finance/banking plus have the corporate where withall to as Larry the cable guy says "Get err done".

As for Malcolms position I would like to see someone who has corporate biotech experience eventually get the job. Someone with the contacts and years that may have been successful as a CEO or COO with other small biotechs/pharmas eventually take over. As you have stated Malcolm has this passion to see this company and technology succeed. Would it be too much to ask that his replacement have the same sort of drive and passion?

That is what I would like to see.

nearly Paul is dead wrong if he thinks this PR is significant in any way shape or form when it comes to dealing with HIV.
It would be a much different scenario if CYGX in conjunction with the U of Penn research team had found a definitive solution to all HIV with a dramatic finding in the vaccine.

This is a preliminary study. Nice PR telling the beginning of a hopefully good story. Still too early though. As in the PR
many "constructs" of the synDNA to be exploited with HIV and monkeys.

CNN or any other news wire would be premature to release anything other than a description of the work being done since nothing conclusive has evolved with regard to HIV.
Then again maybe FOX would exploit the story for the hype.

Where the study says "warrants further investigation" would suggest data is inconclusive at this time.

Neo I really do not think Malcolm will have too much up his sleeve this year. The pace and depth of the PRs are driven
solely by the progress being made which is slow at this point.

Once the facility is built I think things will stsrt to happen. Until then though I do not really see too much happening aside from the usual suspects.

2. No one is stating that they have a vaccine that will stop the HIV virus, but that synDNA works as good as the plasmid-based vaccines that are being worked on at the present time.

Not only that point but also the point of the VARIETY of HIV types out there. There are so called "wild strains" of virus which are much more resistant than other varieties of HIV.
This IS one of the problems facing researchers in the fight against HIV. Finding a candidate that will effectively reduce viral load for one type of virus does not mean other strains of the virus will be reduced by the candidate as well.
