Answer me this, should I be frustrated with NV if they miss a milestone PR?
From an Email to and from John Howell 1/12/01
My wife and I bought a few thousand shares in NVEI to secure our future.
She will graduate college in June of 2002. Is it possible that the
verification, NASDAQ listing and some marketing will be completed by then?
Thank you,
AL
Al,
As you may know, we are very reluctant to put time lines on the process of
commercialization of our technology. However, with the expanded period of
18 months you have suggested, it is safe to project that all of the issues
you addressed will be accomplished. By investing in NVEI as a long term
investment, you and your wife have demonstrated a vision for both our
proprietary solution to communications and also to where the market in
general is moving. As we enable the telcos to provide low cost complex
content over their existing infrastructure, the ease with which we
communicate will be greatly improved. We remain confident in our strategy
and in the contribution we will be making. Thank you for joining us in this
endeavor.

Salmon, Atlantic
Scientific name: Salmo salar
Market name: Atlantic salmon
Common names: Atlantic salmon, farmed salmon, eastern salmon
The Atlantic Salmon Story
One of the great success stories of modern aquaculture, Atlantic salmon farming first emerged on a commercial scale in the early 1980s, with Norway leading the way. Since that time, global production has increased tremendously, and Atlantic salmon are farmed in more than a dozen countries around the world – most notably, Latin America, Europe and North America.
Atlantic salmon lack the many common and regional names of the wild Pacific salmons, but countries that farm the fish tack on their national label: Scottish salmon, Norwegian salmon, etc.The fish are typically raised in large, floating net-pens, often in open bays, to help give them a "natural" flavor.
The adult Atlantic salmon is a handsome, silver-skinned fish with distinct black cross-like spots over the body and head and above the lateral line. It closely resembles the Pacific coho. Farmed Atlantics start at 4 pounds, but fish up to 16 pounds are available.
The commercial seafood industry includes many subsidiary concerns, including seafood safety and quality, sustainability of the business, fishing restrictions, equipment regulations, nutritional value of product, the marketing of particular species, and more. Within this section of our website, we’ll try to keep you updated on periodic 'hotspots' and issues of particular consumer interest.

Two strangers are sitting in adjacent seats in an airplane.
One guy says to the other, "Let's talk. I hear that the flight
will go faster if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."
The other guy, who had just opened a good book, closes it slowly,
takes off his glasses and asks, "What would you like to discuss?"
The first guy says, "Oh, I don't know, how about Nuclear Power?"
The other guy says, "OK, that could make for some pretty interesting
conversation. But let me ask you a question first: A horse, a cow,
and a deer all eat the same stuff, but the deer excretes pellets; the
cow, big patties; and the horse, clumps of dried grass. Why is that?"
The first guy says, "I don't know."
The other guy says, "Oh? Well then, do you really think you're qualified
to discuss Nuclear Power when you don't know sh*t?"

I remember now, when a thief stole you car in NJ most of the time they would lower the charge to borrowing an auto without the owner's permission.
So it may look in court that you were there when he was driving off and you didn't give him permission to use the car and you shot him for it.
Then how does he look?

Running 35.6 trillion calculations per second......
YOKOHAMA, Japan (Dec. 17) - It's a machine so fast it performs more computations per second than there are stars in our galaxy. It's so large it's housed in a building the size of an aircraft hangar.
Running 35.6 trillion calculations per second, the Earth Simulator is the fastest supercomputer in the world, almost five times faster than the next best one and as fast as the top 5 U.S. supercomputers combined.
For the Japanese scientists using the $350 million computer, it means climate research, with its complex simulations and diverse mix of variables, is more accurate than ever before.
For the competition, however, it is a shrill wake-up call. Even the U.S. government admits its March activation signaled an end to American dominance of this high-profile field.
According to the Department of Energy, the Earth Simulator has put American scientists at a 10-100 fold disadvantage in weather studies. And there are much deeper implications.
``The U.S. has lost the lead in climate science research,'' it said in a June report. ``Since computational science contributes to DOE's energy and national security missions, the implications will be widespread and pontentially grave.''
For now, the Earth Simulator is being used to track global sea temperatures, rainfall and crustal movement to predict natural disasters over the next few centuries.
Tucked away in a suburban area just south of Tokyo, the computer's complex has almost 1,900 miles of cable - enough to stretch from New York to Las Vegas - roped together under its floors to keep its network running.
Thirty-five million cubic feet of air roar through the building every 10 seconds to keep the monster from overheating.
With its massive horsepower, the computer can model weather at 100 times the resolution of previous simulations, said Tetsuya Sato, director-general of the Earth Simulator Center.
Built by the Tokyo-based NEC Corp., the computer can already predict the path of a typhoon or a volcanic eruption with remarkable precision. Earthquakes are still tough to pinpoint and forecast, but likely epicenters are being identified and their damage mapped out to determine which dams, buildings and highways need reinforcing.
Plug in a 5-percent versus 15-percent cut in carbon dioxide emissions, scroll forward a few centuries and it can show which cities will be submerged as sea levels rise.
The Japanese government is betting the machine's hefty pricetag will more than pay off for the billions of dollars in damage it could help save in mitigating disasters on this quake and eruption-prone archipelago.
But other possibilities abound.
Researchers say a powerful computer like the Earth Simulator could also plot the course of a pandemic like AIDS, calculate the spread of a virus after a bioterrorist attack, speed the discovery of new drugs and save millions in research by simulating the interactions between a chemical and the human body.
``The government doesn't understand how valuable this is,'' Sato lamented.
The Earth Simulator's implications aren't being missed overseas, however.
``Every time there's an increase in factor of speed, you open up the possibility of a new science,'' explained Alan Edelman, professor of Applied Mathematics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Computer Science Laboratory.
Ironically, NEC used an old technology called vector processing to achieve the Earth Simulator's stunning performance. The technology had been largely abandoned by most U.S. manufacturers and supercomputer designers as outdated and too costly.
Spurred on by the challenge from Japan, the United States government is now pouring money into the technology race.
IBM Corp., flush with a $290 million government contract to build two new supercomputers, says it will regain the No. 1 title in 2004 with a 100-teraflop machine that would be nearly three times faster than Earth Simulator.
Seattle-based Cray Inc. has won a $90 million contract to build a supercomputer for nuclear weapons simulations at Sandia National Laboratory, also by 2004. And by 2010, it has taken on a government challenge to create a computer which will be measured in petaflops - a mindboggling 1,000 trillion calculations per second.

When Christmas Becomes Illegal
Jerry Falwell
Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Oops, did I say Christmas? I meant to wish you Happy Holidays or a Cheerful Winter Season. Christmas, you see, contains that dirty little word ... Christ.
If you don't believe me, just ask the veteran first-grade teacher who was informed this week that she could not mention the word "Christmas" in her Sacramento public school classroom.
Imagine that. Christmas banned in a public school classroom. This interdiction is actually quite predictable, because the word Christmas and the concept of a holiday bearing the name of Christ contradict the situational ethics that pervade many public school classrooms. If there is no true right and wrong, there must not be a notion of a Savior or the need of a Savior.
However, such a ban is nothing less than religious persecution. In order to promote "diversity," these types of policies actually target individuals for their beliefs. It is systematic discrimination that is unconstitutional and illegal.
Tragically, the ACLU and similar groups have convinced many public school officials that the mere mention of Christ or a biblical reference is barred by law. Nothing could be further from the truth.
In the Harry Potter series, the evil character Voldemort is so feared that his name must never be mentioned. Similarly, real-life religious antagonists today are creating an environment that virtually prohibits the mention of Christ in public school classrooms or in the public square. By twisting the meaning of the Constitution, they have produced an atmosphere of fear regarding Christ and Judeo-Christian teachings.
Across the nation, school and city officials are banning Christian themes. Nativity scenes have been barred in some New York schools. A New Jersey middle school canceled a field trip to attend a performance of a play based on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." In Lewistown, Pa., a Christian church was denied tax exemption because it distributes food to needy families (the activity was deemed not to be religious worship).
In Cleveland, Tenn., missionaries have been barred from placing religious literature on cars (even though other groups frequently do so). The Ten Commandments – the very foundation of American law – have been banned in many public arenas. (Thank God that Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore is leading the defense of the Commandments by legally defending his erection of a Ten Commandments monument in the rotunda of his courthouse.)
These alarming actions are part of a diabolical scheme by anti-religion devotees to create distinctive and unfair rules for religious Americans. These individual cases will eventually add up to a national climate of overt hostility toward Christianity (and Christians). It's really quite a frightening scenario, but we are literally watching it unfold before our eyes.
We have seen a federal court panel rule that the mention of God in the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional. Atheists are now attempting to seek the ban of congressional chaplains. Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of Church and State has admitted that he wants the word God erased from American coins. These people literally want a godless society, a concept that dramatically conflicts with the God-centered nation our Founders created and nurtured.
The agenda is clear. Christians must be prepared to stand ready to fight for their rights. It is apparent that our adversaries who wish to stifle us will not rest until they have silenced every last one of us.

NEW YORK (Dec 14) - The Central Intelligence Agency is authorized to kill individuals described as "terrorist leaders" on a list approved by the White House, the New York Times reported in its Sunday editions.
Killing is authorized "if capture is impractical and civilian casualties can be minimized," senior military and intelligence officials told the Times.
President George W. Bush has not waived the executive order banning assassinations, officials told the newspaper. The presidential authority to kill terrorists defines operatives of al Qaeda as enemy combatants and thus legitimate targets for lethal force.
"The previously undisclosed CIA list includes key Qaeda leaders like Osama bin Laden and his chief deputy, Ayman al Zawahiri, as well as other principal figures from al Qaeda and affiliated terrorist groups," the newspaper reported. It quoted one official as describing about 25 people listed as "the worst of the worst."
"President Bush has provided written legal authority to the CIA to hunt down and kill the terrorists without seeking further approval each time the agency is about to stage an operation. Some officials said the terrorist list was known as the 'high-value' target list," the Times said.
Spokesmen for the White House and the CIA refused the newspaper's request for comments.
The reported list follows by more than a year a presidential finding after the Sept. 11 attacks on New York and Washington, providing the basic executive and legal authority for the CIA to kill or capture terrorist leaders.
"The creation of the secret list is part of the expanded CIA effort to hunt and kill or capture Qaeda operatives far from traditional battlefields, in countries like Yemen" according to the Times.
Bush is not legally required to approve names added to the list and the CIA is not required to obtain presidential approval for specific attacks, the newspaper reported.
In November, the CIA killed an al Qaeda leader in a remote region of Yemen. A pilotless Predator aircraft operated by the agency fired a missile at a car in which Qaed Salim Sinan al-Harethi, also known as Abu Ali, was riding. Harethi and five other people, including a suspected al Qaeda operative with U.S. citizenship, were killed.
Intelligence officials told the Times the presidential finding authorizing the agency to kill terrorists was not limited to those on the list. It is updated periodically as the CIA, in consultation with other agencies, adds names when intelligence indicates the emergence of a new leader.
Counterterrorism officials prefer to capture senior al Qaeda leaders for interrogation, if possible. They regard killing as a last resort in cases in which the location of a Qaeda operative is known but capture would be too dangerous or logistically impossible, the officials told the newspaper.

Everyone seems to be wondering why Muslim terrorists are so quick to commit suicide. Lets see now...No beer, No booze, No bars, No television, No cheerleaders, No baseball, No football, No basketball, No hockey, No golf, No tailgate parties, No hooters, No pork BBQ, No hotdogs, No burgers, No lobster, shellfish, or even frozen fish sticks. Constant wailing from the guy next door because he is sick and there are no doctors. 24 hour wailing from a guy in the tower. No chocolate chip cookies, No Christmas, You can't shave, Your wife can't shave. You can't shower to wash off the smell of donkey cooked over burning camel dung. The women have to wear baggy dresses, and veils at all times. Your bride is picked by someone else, she smells just like your donkey, but your donkey has a better disposition. Then they tell you when you die it all gets better.

Family Room Entertainment (OTC BB: FMLY), the entertainment production company we first featured in a trading alert in our November 1st edition, dropped from $.38 to $.21 this Monday as there seemed to be one seller around in a hurry to raise cash. Since that day, the stock has firmed and clawed back up the charts on the best consistent volume so far seen.
The rebound in the stock could be attributed to Paramount's launch of an aggressive campaign to make NARC a serious Oscar contender. Bargain hunters are taking advantage of temporary weakness in the stock.
NARC premiers in LA and NY next Friday, December 20th. It will premier nationwide on January 2nd. Paramount is releasing the film in December in order to place NARC in consideration for 2002 Oscars and other prestigious awards.
In fact, recent press on the film has been outstanding, as borne out by the following commentary:
The Hollywood Reporter, Dec 6- "Ray Liotta delivers his best performance in years as a conflicted detective." Christy Grosz, The Hollywood Reporter
Cover of Daily Variety December 2- "A crackling movie from writer-director Joe Carnahan who revitalizes the cop genre. A never-better Ray Liotta set off dangerous sparks as a corrupt Detroit about to be busted by his partner Jason Patric"- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
Two Pages inside Daily Variety December 9- "...'Narc' a crackle of a noir by the director Joe Carnahan...The film...has a greatest hits smell...it's compelling. 'Narc" has the velocity of a hot slug from the barrel of a gun".- Elvis Mitchell, The New York Times
Cover of Variety December 9- "Gripping and gritty! A compelling story that rings true- Jason Patric gives the performance of a lifetime!" Bill Zwecker, WFLD Chicago
Family Room's wholly owned subsidiary Emmett/Furla Productions is executive producer of the film. NARC could represent a major breakthrough for Emmett/Furla films akin to an FDA Approval for a new drug to a biotech company.
This movie promises to be a big money maker. NARC was made for about $6 million, and now major studios are fighting for producer credits on the film. A recent low budget parallel is "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". After it's production several big Hollywood names fell in love with this movie. It is rumored to have made about $80 million in profits already.
Emmett/Furla put up the required capital to complete NARC when they were on the verge of halting production, and as a result Emmett/Furla has a meaningful profit percentage of the film, a number rumored to be north of 20%.
In a press release issued Friday, Family Room announced NARC has already been nominated for three IFP Independent Spirit Awards which include Best Supporting Actor (Ray Liotta), Best Director (Joe Carnahan), and Best Cinematography (Alex Nepomniaschy). The IFP Independent Spirit Awards ceremony will be televised live on The Independent Film Channel (IFC) at 2:00 p.m. PST on Saturday, March 22, 2003 and will then be re-broadcast at 7:00 p.m. PST on Bravo later that same day.
NARC could end up being as important to shareholders of Family Room as a new drug discovery is to a biotech company. With only a $5.3 million market valuation, Family Room is an outstanding speculation for the high risk end of your portfolio. The current valuation leaves lots of room for upside potential as this company develops more entertainment projects and earns back end profits from those already completed, which include NARC.
We need to set up a few of these meetings on east coast near MA or NY.

Pam Anderson, Tommy Lee win sex video suit
Wednesday, December 11, 2002 Posted: 6:00 AM EST (1100 GMT)
LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- A judge has awarded former "Baywatch" star Pam Anderson and her ex-husband, rocker Tommy Lee, $740,000 each in their long-running court fight against a porn company over a notorious videotape of them having sex.
U.S. District Judge Dean Pregerson awarded Anderson and Lee a default judgment in their long-running, 1998 copyright infringement and invasion of privacy lawsuits against Internet Entertainment Group for selling the videotape over the Web.
Pregerson initially threw out the lawsuit in November of 1998, saying that the couple had signed away the rights to the so-called "honeymoon" tape, but an appeals court overturned that ruling and ordered further proceedings.
Since then, Pregerson said in granting judgment to Anderson, 35, and Lee, 40, IEG has failed to appear in court or defend itself in any way, essentially defaulting the case.
Pregerson, in a written ruling issued last week and made public on Tuesday, said that he was granting Lee and Anderson a total of $1,481,786, which amounted to the profit that IEG made on sales of the tape, to be split between them.
He also awarded them attorneys fees and court costs.
Last year, Anderson settled a second lawsuit against IEG over a sex tape she made with Bret Michaels, lead singer of the heavy metal band Poison. Anderson and Lee divorced and have fought bitterly in court over custody of their two children.

Nope, .........I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?
So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will not be allowed to profile certain people. They must continue to conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, Secret Service agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning former Governors.
Let's send this to as many people as we can so that the Gloria Aldreds and other dunder headed attorneys along with Federal Justices that want to thwart common sense feel doubly ashamed of themselves. As the writer of the award winning story Forest Gump so aptly put it, "Stupid is as stupid does!"

Australian women to bare all for rain
Ah, Raindance lol
Australia is in the grips of a devastating drought, one of the worst on record, slashing agricultural production across the country
SYDNEY, Australia (Reuters) -- Hundreds of women from drought-ravaged southern Australia plan to bare it all to the heavens in a bid to make it rain.
Inspired by a Nepalese drought-breaking tradition, the women from Ouyen in the far northwest of Victoria state will carry out a naked rain dance in the barren outback in early March, just ahead of the planting season for the next crop.
"We'll invite all the families from all the communities around in the Mallee [region] who are suffering from the drought, we'll all get together and have food and entertainment all day," said organizer Lynne Healy of the Ouyen Inc community group.
"And the women will get on buses and discreetly go out to a secret location and we will do our dance or our whatever," Healy said on Wednesday.
Unexpected publicity means the rain dance will probably attract many more than the 200 women the organizers originally expected to take part -- but the media will not be invited.
"It'll be totally nude, hence no cameras," Healy said.
