Thanks Danl...Sorry.

Genio? I see that they are at involved with two core EDIG technologies , flash and infra red transfer. I'm not saying EDIG is involved in the Genio product, because I am not nearly technical enough, but MicroOS and TWIRL come to mind whenever I see those technologies mentioned, and we already have a good relationship with Toshiba. This would be a great thing. Comments, anybody?
C-Cube? Anybody , anybody? Bueller?:

bostonredsox..Now if you add another classification of "EASTECH OEM", the list gets "funner"
FWIW, RP said we will have a presence and representation (staff) at the Summit. I had asked him if the Remote Solution booth was our only "presence" there. He said no. He didn't elaborate on that. Cheers.

Has everybody seen Impactra?? DataPlay video player:
http://www.impactra.com/eindex1.htm
The website flash coding seems fouled up, so I couldn't get much more than this page, but these products fit nicely with the
direction EDIG is going (IMHO), portable video, both DP and non-DP
I find it extraordinary that any respectable financial writer would compose an article like this one using out of context, almost mandatory, safe harbor language as an argument in an endeavor to contrast a shareholder letter and an SEC filing. Of course the tone will be different. What makes EDIG unique in this? How about applying the same methodology to Microsoft or Cisco?? Is there an agenda here? Maybe, maybe not...
30 seconds with Robert Putnam:
Question #1: Will be represented at the MP3 Summit with our own booth, with product, with staff, or in OEM's booths?
Answer #1: The only thing he would say is that e.Digital would "have a presence" at the Summit. The last time I heard that phrase was when e.Digital appeared in Partner's booths (IBM, TI, DataPlay, etc.). Would love to think we would have a product launch for this show, but there's no way to tell. A likely candidate might be Eastech, but it is pure speculation...
Question #2: Is the "strategic partner" mentioned in the last Fred Falk letter already signed on, and does this announcement need to come before OEM announcements?
Answer #2: No comment on the first part, and no, the majority of present OEM's will not be using this strategic partner right away anyway, so it in no way affects OEM announcements.
That was it. Nothing new (didn't expect anything), but wanted to ask those questions anyway. Cheers.
Hooked...
How important would you say the MP3 Summit in San Diego on July 12th might be? Any thoughts on OEM's perhaps using this event for musical device launch? Thanks in advance. Good to see you back btw.
cksla....I was at the DataPlay partners page last week. I believe that every logo under the line with iObjects in it is new.

Motorola Throws Support to HomeRF
By David Haskin
Managing Editor, allNetDevices
June 11, 2001
Motorola (NYSE:MOT) Monday threw its continuing support behind next-generation HomeRF wireless networking
technology and said that it would stream multimedia over those home nets.
Specifically, the company said it would incorporate HomeRF 2.0 technology into its cable modems and residential
gateways. Motorola also said it would incorporate the technology in its high-end digital set-top boxes.
It said in a statement that it will use HomeRF technology from Proxim Inc. (Nasdaq:PROX). HomeRF 2.0 is in pitched battle
with another standard, 802.11b, for acceptance in the home.
The newly adopted HomeRF standard provides speeds of 10Mbps, which is just slightly slower than that of 802.11b. The
latter is widely used in the enterprise. A number of high-visibility vendors such as Intel have stopped making new HomeRF
products and thrown their support behind 802.11b.
Motorola also said it would offer Proxim's HomeRF-based USB and PC cards and Ethernet gateway under its private
label. Motorola has been using HomeRF for a number of years.
"High-speed Internet access coupled with wireless home networking technology can enable people to connect both their
internal and outside worlds via their PCs, TVs and other household electronic devices," said Dan Moloney, senior vice
president and general manager of Motorola's IP Systems Group.
Besides being a leading supporter of HomeRF, Proxim also claims to hold patents related to 802.11 and has notified
about 70 vendors that it expects to collect royalties. However, Proxim was sued by Agere, which claims it has wireless LAN
technology that Proxim has improperly used.
Separately, Motorola said it was adding the ability to stream audio and video using its wireless home networking products.
Motorola said it would work with SimpleDevices to add those capabilities to stream multimedia to a variety of devices,
including existing stereo equipment.
Specifically, the system will use SimpleDevice's SimpleFi system, which sends digital audio received by a PC to other
devices in the home via wireless networks.
In addition, the companies said they plan to work together to deliver streaming audio to a variety of devices, including
handhelds and in-car systems.
emit...I sent this email to RP yesterday...No response yet:
Hi Robert...
Only one question today...
Will e.Digital have a presence at the MP3 Summit 2001: "Mobilizing Your Music" event, to be held in San Diego on July 12 and 13? (http://www.mp3.com/summit/2001/) If so, would we be having representatives there in person, or simply branded products there in the booths of OEM's/Exhibitors?
Thanks in advance...

Hello Mr. Park,
Thank you very much for your reply. The question I am asking is which
domestic company is manufacturing your music player? Can you tell me the
name? Thanks very much for any help you can give me here.

Tinroad...General Instruments? COO? Well, I know they are big companies, but I knew I'd seen General instruments mentioned somewhere else....like in an EDIG PR:

Telematics Coming to Subaru
By Matthew A. Peretz
Senior Editor
allNetDevices.com
May 24, 2001
Subaru of America, Inc. and OnStar Wednesday announced a new collaberation that will
bring telematics to the 2003 Outback. Onstar is a wholly owned subsidiary of General
Motors Corp.
The OnStar system will become a standard feature in the top of the line 2003 Subaru
Outback. The system will come with a one-year subscription to OnStar's Safety and Security
services. Subaru plans to roll out the service in other models following this release.
The OnStar system uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite network and
wireless technology. Services include automatic service center notification of air-bag
deployment; stolen vehicle tracking; emergency services; roadside assistance using
location; remote door unlock; remote diagnostics; route support and concierge and
convenience services. OnStar is rolling out a new service called Personal Calling, which
allows drivers to make and receive hands-free, voice-activated calls through a nation-wide
network in conjunction with Verizon Wireless. Another service is Virtual Advisor, developed
in conjunction with General Magic, Inc. - which allows subscribers to access personalized
Web-based information in a hands-free voice-activated manner - using no screens or
displays.
OnStar currently claims to have over one million subscribers and expects that number to increase to four million by
2003.

Review site to review Treo soon:
Email response to my inquiry about whether they had gotten a new Treo to review. I leave out the company name because I didn't want them inundated with emails as so frequently happens with OEM/partners/etc. Suffice it to say, their is interest from these sites to review the Treo.
Hey, thanks for the info. XXXXXXXX.com is confering with the people from Treo right now trying to set up a model to be sent for review. When they send, you can expect a great review with lots of new and updated info.

I post about the iRad-T simply because:
1. It is new
2. Fred mentioned an upcoming home stereo platform announcement this quarter
3. EASTECH has an indirect connection to AudioRamp (as well as ZapMedia)

AudioRamp has a new iRad (Internet Radio) coming out...
