Austin- If nothing by the end of April we will ALL be concerned.
Let me say this also...I am no respecter of persons. Whether you're poor, rich, black, white, yellow, man or woman, if I disagree with something you've said I'll generally let you know even if you are smarter than me and I run the risk of looking like an idiot. I respect spoke for his opinions. I respect Brady for his (he's a pretty good dude in my book). I also respect Excel's. The people that I have little respect for are those who have no real opinion OR...those who are too afraid to express their opinion for fear of looking like an idiot for being wrong. I've looked like an idiot many times believe it or not and it's really not all that bad. Anyway, not sure how I got on that subject so we'll just put all talk of me being an idiot (at times) on the back burner never to be brought up again. My point is this...NV has done, and apparently will continue to do stupid things. We will disagree at times. When we have these disagreements it's up to us to be civil. I was uncivil to spokeshave. I got ticked off and didn't count to 10. For that I apologize. I also apologize to wheels whom I have a good bit of respect for as well. I made some comments in your direction and you handled them very well. I will try to learn from that.
Anyone else I have offended I apologize as well.
I do not like to apologize. It can be embarassing. However, I feel it was necessary. I do not like being wrong. This is becoming a regular soap opera here. Have a good one.
Brady/spoke- I hope neither one of you guys leave. Spoke...you and I had a disagreement but people disagree everyday. It's over as far as I'm concerned. As far as Brady is concerned, I don't disagree with him about anything really (except for once he said he was a good lookin' feller). I hope you stick around. Just please don't post about the planers again. Have a good one.
What I really meant was "two bit message board". Just didn't want to tick excel off as he does a pretty good job here. Wanted to clear that up. I did not sell stock. Later...
Like I give a rat's arse about respect from anyone here. This stock is in the toilet in case you people haven't noticed. I have bigger concerns rather than worrying over a two bit stock. There is a person on this board who is an arrogant SOB. Maybe I'm one but there is definitely another. You guys can have your soap opera. I am done here. Have a nice life.
So does that mean that someone who only comes in here and gripes when the company does something does not have a healthy personality? Interesting...
Let me just make a few comments regarding New Visual and the delay's we have experienced. It has us on edge. In fact, it is making some of us do things that are downright silly.
For example, there is one poster on this board who feels the need to brag about Ph'D's and many different accomplishments. To me, that reinforces the idea that this poster has no real accomplishments and must come onto a message board and brag to people who really don't give a hoot.
Then you have a poster who actually admits to not having a PhD for one reason. He did not finish his thesis (or whatever you call it). To think that someone spent that time studying and lets a simple thesis get in the way of having a PhD.
So you see, the stress is really getting to us these days. In fact, I was so very stressed out earlier, I made a post in response to a post that really sounded like I was sucking up. Totally out of character for me. I will not mention any names because I do not want to make any personal attacks. But there are a couple of people who have posted here today who can go and jump off of a ******* cliff. Have a great day!!
Good choice immitt. LOL
Fingers and toes are crossed. I'd cross my eyes if I thought it would help.
Ok Spoke. Last post from me and then I'm done. We agree on the borrowed part. Do we agree that the possibilities I outlined are feasible? I'm just trying to make sense of the whole thing.
Master Spoke
When my wife and I were in the market to buy a house, we went to a mortgage broker and he found money for us. We provided w-2's, bank statements, credit history, employment history, and information on approximately how many times a day we went to the bathroom. They APPROVED us for a certain amount. We got the loan, it was just contingent on us finding a suitable home. The transfer of the money was not to take place until we had inspections and an appraisal. It took us 2 months after the loan was approved to find that house. Did we have the loan approved? Yes. Was the money in our account? Nope. New Visual may have gotten approved for the loan. They could very well have had Mercatus go through financial statements, tech info, etc. and gotten approved. It may simply be a matter of working out details of how the money will be spent before they give the money over. Was the word "borrowed" misleading? Yep. Was it intentional? Who knows. My point was that Brad cleared it up very quickly so that leads me to believe that it was unintentional. Why don't you call the lawyer and ask why he used "borrowed". You might learn something.
One other point I'd like to add is this...
If NV signed the dotted line, then they are required to put it in the filing whether or not they received the money.
If it's in the filing, they almost certainly signed the dotted line.
That is, of course, unless they are outright lying which I HIGHLY DOUBT is the case here.
So in effect, they "borrowed" the money. It's just a matter of getting the money in the account. Unless you're a lawyer, you cannot really question the legalese involved here. I will admit though that I did believe the money was in the bank after reading the filing. Oh well, Brad did clear it up rather quickly, just not quickly enough to suit some folks here.
cosmo
In this case where both parties have agreed what could be a possible hold up and potential for this to fall apart if both sides have already "agreed"?
This loan may be happening in two different stages. The first stage is where the "bank" does DD and decides to loan the money. That part is done which is why NVEI had to put it in the filing because it is most definitely a material event.
Stage two: The "bank" wants to make sure the money is spent getting things done that will ensure NV is at the revenue stage very quickly. The reason for this is obvious. They want New Visual to pay them back. Some possible hold ups are that the bank wants New Visual to provide a detailed analysis of where they will spend the money. The bank will almost certainly want annotated in the final contract that New Visual will spend the money adding infrastructure critical to getting the tech launched. They will not want to see the money being used for the movie. They will also not want the money going to Executives for bonuses etc. etc... They will want a detailed, and I do mean DETAILED, line for line analysis. I could go on with different possibilities but the bottom line is this. It takes time to agree on terms of the loan and I believe that could very well be why the loan was APPROVED but not yet executed.
Trex- Thanks for the clarification.
Discovering what? Socialism?
It's become almost routine for members of the American
press to throw dumb or leading questions at members of the Bush administration.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why Secretary of State
Colin Powell seemed so well prepared for the shifty
question recently hurled at him by an Iraqi reporter.
According to the New York Post, one of Saddam's
newshounds asked Powell, "Isn't it true that only 13%
of young Americans can locate Iraq on a map?"
"That may be true," Powell countered. "You're probably
right. But unfortunately for you, all 13% are Marines."
How could Marconi have come across our technology you ask? Let's see....what's the name of that college Greaves is from??? Oh yes...Cambridge.
Cambridge University and Marconi Announce Major Initiative to Keep UK at Forefront of Communications Revolution
30 March 2000
Largest ever corporate funding boosts Britain's standing in the new Knowledge Economy
The University of Cambridge and Marconi plc have unveiled a major project to build a world-class Communications Research Centre, developing new technology for the Internet and data transmission.
The forward-looking project is designed to strengthen further Britain's role in the communications revolution.
The building of the new centre and the extensive research programme will be funded by Marconi plc, Europe's leading communications and IT company.
Marconi has committed £40 million to fund the building of the centre and an extensive programme of research into communications technologies for an initial period of 6 years. This is the largest corporate funding ever invested in Cambridge.
Lord Simpson, the Chief Executive of Marconi plc said:
"The Prime Minister has called for Britain to lead the e-revolution. We recognise that an unequivocal commitment to research is essential if Britain is to maintain its strong position in the new Knowledge Economy."
Lord Simpson added that the University of Cambridge was the natural choice for the innovative project, because of its outstanding success in communication technology research and its pivotal position at the heart of Europe's communications development community.
Warmly welcoming this huge investment in UK research, University of Cambridge Vice-Chancellor Sir Alec Broers said:
"We are at the cutting edge of research in communications - it's a real Cambridge success story. But to keep up world-class excellence, we need world-class partners and big-scale investment. Marconi's commitment to us, to the tune of £40 million, will boost our research and ensure that Cambridge is one of the top technical players on the world stage."
The Marconi Communications Centre will be established on the West Cambridge Site. The building itself will account for £10 million of the total investment and should be completed in 2002. A further £18 million will fund the University's research programme and £12 million will fund a Marconi embedded research lab.
The key objectives of the Centre are: to engage world-renowned staff; to carry out research that will add to or replace the current technology base; to become a gateway to expert advice and training; and to develop a series of websites that will become world-class sources of knowledge.
A core team of Cambridge scientists has spearheaded the project, including Professor Stewart Lee, Director of the Centre for Communications Systems Research, Professor Ian Leslie, Head of the Computer Laboratory, and Professor Frank Kelly, Professor of the Mathematics of Systems in the Centre for Mathematical Sciences. New university posts, including a Marconi Professorship, are planned with the funding.
Professor Ian Leslie said that it has been fascinating to watch Marconi retarget their business to concentrate on communications and information technology.
"Marconi is clearly aware of the pace of change in this sector and the need to shape, rather than react to, future developments. It will be a great pleasure working with them on advanced communications research."
Cambridge's track record in communications' in the last 20 years has been impressive, with research breakthroughs in mobile communications, global positioning systems, advanced internet communications, fibre optics, and computer technologies.

Something else that I find to be interesting is this...
One of the consultants we hired is in West Midland, UK. Marconi's Intellectual Property office is in Essex, UK, which is only a few miles from West Midland. However, I would recommend ignoring any implications this has because it is PURE speculation at this point. Coincidence??? Maybe. But then again, maybe not.
Just a little speculation to help pass the time. I wonder who has our prototype?

THE BUNNY AND THE SNAKE
Once upon a time (allegedly) in a nice little forest, there lived an
orphaned bunny and an orphaned snake. By a surprising coincidence, both
were blind from birth.
One day, the bunny was hopping through the forest, and the snake was
slithering through the forest, when the bunny tripped over the snake and
fell down. This, of course, knocked the snake about quite a bit.
"Oh, my," said the bunny, "I'm terribly sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you.
I've been blind since birth, so, I can't see where I'm going. In fact, since
I'm also an orphan, I don't even know what I am."
"It's quite OK," replied the snake. "Actually, my story is much the same as
yours. I, too, have been blind since birth, and also never knew my mother.
Tell you what, maybe I could slither all over you, and work out what you
are, so at least you'll have that going for you."
"Oh, that would be wonderful" replied the bunny. So the snake slithered all
over the bunny, and said, "Well, you're covered with soft fur; you have
really long ears; your nose twitches; and you have a soft cottony tail. I'd
say that you must be a bunny rabbit."
"Oh, thank you! Thank you," cried the bunny, in obvious excitement. The
bunny suggested to the snake, "Maybe I could feel you all over with my paw,
and help you the same way that you've helped me."
So the bunny felt the snake all over, and remarked, "Well, you're smooth and
slippery, and you have a forked tongue, no backbone and no balls. I'd say
you must be French".

I just want to give my opinion on the 50% discount 144's that are available (it seems to be pretty common knowledge at this point). I think Ray would be hard pressed to sell a 30 cent stock in a downtrend for any more than that. If the BOD has authorized this price then that's just what has to be done. They are shareholders just like us. On difference though is that they are underwater on their options until they get the price up. If I remember correctly, Ray has MANY options priced at $3.92. I can just about guarantee you that he doesn't like it anymore than we do. I haven't always agreed with some of the things the company has had to do in the past but I just don't see any other option at this point. Some will say..."GET THE SHARE PRICE UP". Don't you think they would if they could? It seems impossible at this point with the companies testing the prototype requiring silence. I will continue to give my support to the company. I can almost guarantee you that those who don't take advantage of the 50% discount right now will wish they had at some point in the not too distant future.
March 12 — Elizabeth Smart, the 15-year-old girl who vanished from her bedroom nine months ago, was found alive Wednesday, riding in the car of a drifter who had once done work at the family’s home, police said. “Miracles do exist,” said the girl’s uncle, Tom Smart.
cosmo- Why the personal attacks? We're imperfect human beings. Just because none of us achieves perfection all the time doesn't mean you need to point out deficiencies. I try to be more patient with my kids. Do I always succeed? NO. However, When I do display impatience I resolve to do better the next time. Cut the personal attacks. Take a look in the mirror for a change.
I think what you're asking is if I'm a deacon in my church. The answer is no. However, I am an Elder.
Good news for you guys pb. Glad to hear it. :)
Jeff- Please refrain from making this type of post in the future. It makes ENTIRELY too much sense.
Sorry Scotty...I got bored and had nothing better to do. I see you didn't refute the dress wearing every other Saturday rumor. Perhaps that one hasn't quite made the rounds yet. :)
Plato- Allegory of the Cave. I had my fill of that in college. Give me a good book on politics or money or especially a book about religion and we'll talk business.
I'm not sure Austin. It's my opinion that we won't be getting a tech update for quite some time. I would love to be wrong though.
When I spoke with Brad a couple of months ago, I mentioned that it was my belief that we could probably look for ASIC production towards the end of the year. He confirmed that scenario as being very likely. As far as a tech update, I feel VERY strongly that we will not hear anything regarding the tech until we have a contract signed with a chip manufacturer or other such news that the company is REQUIRED BY LAW to make public. So in summary, we will not likely hear a thing until an actual material event occurs. No more courtesy updates for us I'm afraid.
porscha- When I first read the article about Infineon's new product, it caused some concern. However, after putting some thought into it, I realized that as long as the telco's know there is something coming down the pipe that is better, they will likely refrain from investing a significant amount of money into an inferior product. Keep in mind that what NV put out as far as numbers does not include repeaterability. After reviewing Infineon's website, I saw no mention of repeaters. It looks like those numbers are the best they can do. Also, Deeba made an excellent point yesterday in chat in that it is likely that NV didn't put out their best numbers. One last thing...I seem to remember that Brad was hesitant to put out numbers on 12/31 due to the fact that the numbers will increase as time passes and we will likely be looking at a different set of numbers once we are ready to put the tech in ASIC form. I believe we have a superior product and telco's will wait for it to roll out.
deeba- I've said this before and I'll say it again. Once the movie buzz gets out there (already ramping up significantly), New Visual will have some leverage to get an actual LOAN from a bank. When they said "bank" in the letter, that tells me that the possibility exists that we will be able to get funding using VERY FEW, IF ANY shares. Very good news if you ask me. It removes a lot of the doubt many have regarding this stock. The tech working/not working has been a non-issue (at least for me) for some time now. While Rich and Ray's 2% is a burr in my saddle, it will not affect things one way or the other. Let's move forward.
Porscha- I TOTALLY agree.
You are not the astute and high powered investor that MWL is. :)
Trexville- I wouldn't worry much about MWL. He's shown his colors and anything he says goes by the wayside for most folks here.
I have to agree pengy. I don't even mind the news blackout. I just appreciate them letting us know about it. Very positive letter indeed!
I found an excellent motivational speech by John Addison, CEO of Primeamerica (sp?) Corporation. Very well worth the time to watch. Open this page http://www.legalsuccesscenter.com/getpaid.html and click on his picture.
jiz- It's Rich Wilson. EOM
Trexville- What do you think about someone who uses other people's money to fund something but turn's around and takes a 2% cut himself? Also, what do you think when that person allows one of his buddies at the company to take a cut as well? Better yet...what does HE think of it? His conscience couldn't allow him to sleep well at night. No need to respond. Just making an observation.
Trexville- I spoke with company officials as well about six weeks ago and none of them knew MWL "Shawn". I spoke with MWL on the telephone myself to get a feel for his intelligence level. In the interest of keeping myself out of I-Hub jail for personal attacks I will refrain from any further comments.
Hello Voyager...Did you use the alias "Voyager" on RB? If so I think I know you.
