$68 this morning in AH? Nice!
Yes. Not feeling bad about my early entry any more. LOL! I'm holding my May $75 calls at least a little closer to earnings day. I suspect, with all the hype, Visa will come out beating analyst estimates. IMO, of course but if so, we'll see the mid to upper $70's.
Let's see what happens.
Visa's going crazy again today. Nice. May $75 calls doing well today!
I did not pick any up. I wasn't sure how much of a retrace it was in for so I didn't jump. It lasted only about 10 minutes if that. Not enough to go on a chart, IMO.
I'm actually thinking it will close in the $122 range today.
I'm in .VEO (Visa May $75 Calls) right now. I'm expecting this to beat estimates and get rumors of positive earnings before April 28th. So I'm holding this longer than I normally would. In at .7 average.
Agree. That's why I was surprised that the calls dropped under 2.0 today. Even though it retraced, the drop in value was a great buying opportunity.
IBM pulled back hard this AM and moving back up. The May $125 calls may be at premium @ 2.5. However, if this moves back over $125 like after hours yesterday, that may be cheap. During the retrace, the calls backed down to 1.9.
So, you do think Bush was responsible for 9/11 attacks and Katrina then? I've got to hear this. LOL!
Thanks. My gag reflex needed some exercise. LOL!
IBM will remain profitable. It's not said but their focus is on hiring contractors instead of full time employees. That isn't finished yet either. If you work for a company that uses IBM services, you'll find that most of the time, you're talking to a contractor. But that's pretty much all of the IT service culture now days.
Can't wait to see how much the $125 May calls are worth tomorrow considering I cashed out at 1.20 from a .80 entry. Argh.
Honestly, I've been into the Penny Stocks for the longest. I quit those for options after paper trading for about 6 months or so. That being said...
Earnings never really were part of my penny plays because Pinks suck. LOL! This is my first glimpse into the earnings plays.
Where I messed up big was when I was paper trading options, I was still reading only the Penny Stock boards. So I really didn't learn what I needed to during the paper trading days. But, I know enough to protect the capital so I guess that's all that counts right now and for the future, I'll be more in tuned to earnings news.
Yup. I could have just as easily lost it. Yeah, that's what I'll keep telling myself.
Ummmmmm Yeah. And did I already tell you I sold my IBMEE May $125 Calls YESTERDAY!
Profit is Profit, as they say. LOL!
Edit - $124 AH!
I took my green off my .IBMEE May $125 calls from .80 to 1.20. And if you look, I walked with half the profit I could have gotten. LOL! Green IS Green though.
The big V is kicking arse today. So is MA. Seems the soft news on Wells Fargo and JP Morgan today brought a bout of market confidence today.
OH. I was looking at the CALL symbol that Option4u posted but you have the $30 calls. Awesome play.
Doing the math, you risked over 20k on options? I'm thinking $900 is great if your risk was 2 - 5k. But that's only a 5% gain, eh?
Although, if it keeps moving like that and you pull out your 20 - 30% profit, nice day's work.
Good luck! I'm interested to see how well you do on this play.
I had to average down on my VEO (Visa MAY $85 calls) yesterday at .6. Considering the volume is low but the strength is so high, I'm thinking this has a lot more room to go in the short term. I'm green on all my Visa calls now after a lousy day yesterday.
So much for supply/demand and god forbid we use some domestic cache's to teach OPEC a lesson. The dollar may be weakening but Milk hasn't done a tripple in the course of a year. LOL!
Blah.
Check out V. Seems to be building strength and their earnings are set for April 28th.
Anyone have some WFC calls from yesterday? Wish I did. LOL!
Frankly, I'm surprised it's under $70 right now. I bought time with my calls and fully expect to walk with a nice profit. I just hate entering a position too early. I thought it had dropped enough and darn it, I was wrong. LOL!
I agree. I believe the earnings will tell the tale. I'm thinking once the market get's past all the billions in write downs by banks this and last week, Visa will start going up again.
Interestingly enough, Visa always comes up on the PR's for various banks. Understandable since said banks (some anyway) underwrote the recent IPO. And these banks issue Visa cards. But what I haven't seen mentioned is that regardless of the amount of money people can or can't spend, they will still swipe the Visa card to pay the bill. IMO, Visa's revenue remains stable with the projected increases the analysts have written about.
Well, one, I did not mean to imply institutions are dumping. I was commenting on the PR for the bank. For some investors, it could give that impression. The IPO underwriters of Visa... we can only hope they hang on to a hefty portion of the shares for long term.
And two, I see the volume dropping off and today the indicators I use are pointing south:
But I'm not an investor here, hence I'm looking at a 5 day chart. I'm an option player that bought too early but picked up some really cheap contracts today! LOL! I'm looking forward to the earning's call but before even that, I expect there will be some hype coming Visa's way... errrr... more of it.
First, thanks for posting the Market updates everyday. I appreciate that addition to this board.
But I have a question for anyone with an opinion... How high do you guys think Oil is going to go? Just a few years ago, it was around $50. Only 5 or 6 years ago in North Atlanta, I could get regular for .89 a gallon!
IMO, it's because of this crap on all the wires:
Northern Trust
Another trust bank, Northern Trust Corp. (NTRS:Northern Trust Corporation NTRS 67.61, +2.61, +4.0%) , Tuesday reported net income more than doubled to $385.2 million, or $1.71 a share. Analysts had forecast profit of 96 cents a share.
The Chicago company said earnings included a pretax benefit of $244 million, or 68 cents a share, in connection with the Visa Inc. (V:visa) initial public offering. Excluding Visa, first-quarter earnings were $1.03 a share.
I believe this says Institutions are dumping Visa stock to the Market. That's my guess for today's drop. I understand why Northern Trust is PR'ing this considering financials. They have to. I just think it sucks that they are riding on Visa's coat tails... not to mention, they got the IPO around $40 per share. Must be nice.
Damn, someone's dumping a lot of shares.

Girard Gibbs LLP Announces Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE: WFC)
Monday April 14, 10:27 pm ET
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The law firm of Girard Gibbs LLP (http://www.girardgibbs.com) announces that it is has filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of persons who purchased Auction Rate Securities from Wells Fargo & Co. (NYSE:WFC - News) and Wells Fargo Investments, LLC between April 14, 2003 and February 13, 2008, inclusive (the “Class Period”), and who continued to hold such securities as of February 13, 2008.
I bought the MAY $25 PUT's yesterday.
You'd be shocked. After all this time and exposure, there are still a few folks that don't understand how the gray's work.
One of Rufus's admins was upset that a 100 share trade brought the stock down 1000%. He thought the MM's were still manipulating it. LOL!
I don't care what anyone says. This play is both entertaining and a great education in what to look for when you think a scam is going on.
Yeah, we should have just stopped at the 2,974 people killed in the World Trade Towers in respect to your Afganistan numbers. Riiiiight.
In regardes to Afganistan, our soldiers killed a lot of those facist zealots and if you bring that up to one of our soldiers, you will see a smile develop across their face.
Whatever you think of us being in Iraq, you have to eventually ask yourself why we are killing so many Al Qaeda and Islamic facist wanna-be's in a country which was purported to be so unrelated to terrorist activity.
In any event, I think many Democrats (the Liberal kind) will find that the majority of our fighting Americans aren't nearly as frightened to be in their field of work as said Democrats need them to be to win the Presidency in November. LOL! It was strong will that built this country and make no mistake that the liberal emotionalism will soften it.
Lastly, OPEC doesn't give a rat's behind what we pay for a barrel of oil. OPEC doesn't care that we're in Iraq. OPEC is interested in controlling the price of oil regardless of American policy. Anyone know John McCain's ties to the Big Oil companies? I'm researching that now...
LOL! I didn't even know there was a thread for "inmates" only! That's hilarious. Kinda like driving by and seeing a chain gang on the side of a rural highway.
What are some opinions on this?
Today's developments provided further evidence that the $25.5 billion bet Wachovia placed on California through its purchase of Golden West amid a slowing housing market in May 2006 was a dumb move. Observers at the time said it was a train wreck occurring in slow motion and could set the stage for the nation's fourth-largest bank to find itself stumbling into the arms of a merger partner such as Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC).

I found this worth mentioning:
And speaking of the best ...
Three of Wall Street's finest chimed in on the year's hottest IPO this morning. On Monday, each of Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Cowen & Co., and Deutsche Securities initiated coverage of Visa (NYSE: V) with simultaneous "buy" ratings (or their equivalent).
Discounting the fact of "slowing economic growth in the U.S.," KBW and Cowen are placing their chips on a belief that "an increase in worldwide credit card use will lift Visa Inc. shares" (emphasis added.) Deutsche agrees with its colleagues on this point and further argues that the greater the growth in global credit transactions, the more Visa will benefit from "operating leverage" -- boosting its margins on the growing revenue base.
When bankers (don't) attack
The cynic in me initially suspected that this was just another case of the same people who bankrolled an IPO following it out into the Street to give it a push, so it would roll a little faster. But after digging into Visa's prospectus, I'm no longer so sure. While both KBW and Cowen played a part in underwriting the Visa IPO, Deutsche does not appear to have been involved.
What's more, KBW and Cowen played only bit parts in the IPO, having allotted less than a million shares each. So they have a lot less riding on the success of Visa shares than do headlining companies such as JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), UBS (NYSE: UBS), Bank of America (NYSE: BAC), Wachovia (NYSE: WB), or Citigroup (NYSE: C) -- each of which underwrote many, many times the size of KBW's and Cowen's allotments.
In short, while two of the three analysts upgrading Visa today may be biased, their bias is rather limited. Meanwhile, Deutsche doesn't seem to have so much as a Chihuahua in this fight -- so it's word should be good as gold.

LOL! I guess "inside" of the CSHD subject, you are right. I have nothing better to talk about than Rufus's schenanigans and some of the more terminal Rufus supporters.
You haven't looked very closely then. You can find me on the Options Wonderland board most of the time. Sometimes the Visa board.
Do some DD before you go accusing someone of something that isn't remotely true. Especially considering my posts on this board are far and few between... like most others now days.
But the entertainment doesn't end until Rufus is on the receiving end of a law suit.
I heard some folks were banned from Rufus's site and the reason was: "Unknown User"
LOL! Didn't Rufus COMMAND those admins to allow anyone to the forum? Poor Rufus. No one does what he says any more.
IBM - IBMEE May $125 Calls....
Picked them up at .80 on Friday and sold them today for 1.2. IBM is retracing so I'm going to see if I can pick them up again under 1.0 today.
FWIW, IBM should remain bullish all year due to their 15 Billion dollar stock buy back that is supposed to be complete around Oct. I can't see that IBM will be posting lower than expected earnings anytime real soon so I play this one with calls only. Did some puts a few months ago and the last trade was a loser. IMO, this is a relatively safe play on the bullish side. Just don't enter while it's moving up because IBM loves to retrace either way within a day or two.
McCain was attacked by the Bush admin because McCain was soft on abortion. I do remember at that time that McCain was one of the most moderate Republican candidates at the time. I've had liberal friends talk well of him. I like him because he'll halt the out-of-control spending that plagues the Bush admin. And McCain is not nearly as interested in interfering with peoples' private lives the way some of the most conservatives are.
Obama and Hillary are liberal dreams. The Democrats, just like they did during Bush's second campaign, were so out of touch with what America wants that they tried to push the most leftwing candidate they could down our throats and actually thought they would win. They are doing it again because they believe the polls. I'm not happy with Bush's second term at all but the left wing thinks that automatically makes a Democrat win. IMO, whoever wins the DNC primary will be conceeding to McCain before midnight on election day.
Who do folks really believe the southern Democrats are going to vote for? LOL! There seems to be a misconception that the Bluest states (like California) dictate American opinion.
Absolutely. They buy them back, the PPS goes up, and that bundle of shares they buy back are put on the balance sheet for the plus side increasing their worth. V is no POS penny stock that only sells shares. And there's a lot of reasons companies buy them back.
Free users get 15 posts per day. 3 to begin with and then 15 after your ID is confirmed (whatever that means). 15's enough for me. I noticed your account is from 2000. Curious why your limited to only 3 posts a day?
Thanks again. Picked up the $32 calls (GEFN).
Also got IBM May $125 calls today @ .80 and up immediately by 12.5%.
The remainder of my BA $70 puts (BAQN) 1/4 of my position from yesterday are looking good end of day. Since these are almost freebies, may just be greedy with these and see if BA tanks. LOL!
Ouch. Thanks for the heads up. The May $32 is what you like?
Ooops. You said June $32.50. Checking that...
IBMEE IBM May $125 calls. Looking for a reentry today.
Got out of that position yesterday at 2.6 from a 2.33 entry.
My .BAQN, I dropped 3/4 today at .7 from my .6 entry yesterday.
And dropped my .IBMEE YESTERDAY @ .95 from my .8 entry.
All I have right now is my .BAQN contracts but that's not very much capital in there at all.
And as you can see, I sold my IBM WAY TOO QUICK! Argh. That's trading at 1.45 - 1.50 today. Looking at Puts on IBM today but I just have a feeling with the stock buy back going on, you never know. They may run this to new highs before letting it settle again.
Even LEH is up today and I didn't get into that on yesterday's drop. Darn it.
Edit - Just checked AAPL. Man, I thought it go down more today but I'm not confident enough to stay in these plays long enough to win big... or in this case, would've been red.
