Q Television Finalizes Gay Games Contract
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – December 3, 2004 -- Q Television Network (Pink Sheets:QBID), announced today that the network has signed the final contract with the Gay Games Committee giving Q Television Network exclusive media and Internet rights to broadcast the 2006 Gay Games. The Gay Games VII will be held from July 15 to 22, 2006.
The contract gives Q Television broadcast rights, joint development of Gay Games-related programming, broadcast airtime for advanced Gay Games advertising and live and taped coverage of Gay Games, as well as all internet rights.
“This is a major contract for Q Television,”, said Frank Olsen President and CEO of Q Television Network. “The Gay Games is a monumental event for the Gay and Lesbian community and we are thrilled to be the only television network to have an exclusive contract. We look forward to telling the stories of these amazing athletes to our viewers.”
To date, Q Television Network has shot over forty hours of footage at the Annual Meeting of the Federation of Gay Games in Cologne, Germany. The network plans to present the stories of the men and women worldwide participating in the games and will continue to shoot footage of the athletes and events leading up to the Gay Games VII to be held from July 15-22, 2006 in Chicago. The network will air numerous hours of advanced programming that will allow the Gay Games VII and its athletes to get even greater exposure and recognition.
You guys don't seem to realize how BIG that contract really is. Just think Super Bowl advertising rates...
Obviously the rates will be less but they will be revs for Q.
Tommorow could very well be the biggest day yet.
Aloha
Tommorow's also my 10th anniversary!!! Some bigtime Q fireworks would make it a day to remember!

We would if we could get the channel...

soupoftheday
What I find funny about that article is NO mention of Q(HereTV slanted) and no monthly fee mentioned (it starts Dec.1).
Plus they are on DirectTV which could be an indication why we just showed up on DISH's Echostar SAT...competition!
We're gonna kick some ass shortly..
Aloha
Made myself go golfing today at 0830 Hawaiitime this morning and .0094 knowing it was going to be either over .02 or around .007 when I got back. Looks like it went nuts right after I left. Sure glad I missed the volatility today! We are just getting started here so hang on!!!
Aloha
Does anyone have that list of top cable providers handy? TIA
Aloha
ScottF44 - get another line of work...eom
foxy...you get the award for the being the most pschzo on the boards. One minute your creaming all over yourself, the next you're crying. Wake up, Q is on the move and you aren't going to make a whole lot of difference either way so just lay off the BS...
Aloha
ct....God must be worried about the pps going down too!
Just a thought!
Aloha
Skunks...it's all hard work and timing. If I had had these meetings in October I could have made changes quickly and headed in a new direction that I would have liked to go anyhow. Now I have to jury rig a few things and see how the cards fall...hopefully adding to the bottom line and not wiping it out.
Aloha
skunks...yup I was ready for a couple of years of smooth sailing...but that's business...we'll see.
I have used my business as an example many times to compare with the route FO has had to take.
Aloha
casinos...that was my first thought, the Indians have money!
Aloha
skunks....ditto
It's funny how the experienced business people are most comfortable with their investment even in this frustrating time.
I went to two meetings a week ago and while totally different subjects, out of the blue they basically changed the whole future of my business-which just had it's best year since '97. For better or worse I don't know, we'll have to see what I make of it...
Go Q...
Aloha
PS it's actually 61 degrees...record low 60 (1971) brrrrrrrrrrr.
Skunks....me too...
Considering the hurdles that FO has leaped to get Q on the air a NAIN should be a breeze. Since this is a minority there may be federal grants available too.
Looking forward to more news about it.
What's funny is that I mentioned it to one of the people I got to invest in Q earlier this year and he scoffed. Just like he did when I brought up the Q a couple of years back when it was still politically incorrect. Some people never learn...
A bit chilly here in Maui this morning-maybe 66-67, how's Boston?
Aloha
Yeah but as they say, there are ways to fix that...
The important part is that they are on the air after all these delays!
I sure wish I could watch it!
I'm curious about the 75,000 shares issued to the QTelevision Inc...
Aloha
dk
Thanks for taking the time to write all that out. I do believe the issues started before that with what you said about bizarre happenings.
Whatever they are I hope they get figured out quick!
Aloha
dk...if you listen to the CC and the wallstreetreporter interview they tell most of the story.
CC-There is not a problem with the financials.
WSR-The corporation goes back to 1951 and there is a problem with the paperwork.
I'm not sure of the exact problem but any corp that does not have yearly docs, ie shareholder meeting minutes, BOD meeting minutes etc. has a problem and as minor as it may seem prevents an audit from being completed.
I remember this was brought up shortly after the QBID shares were issued and had quite a bit to do with the .0001 valuation.
However this all took place so long ago I am not going to try to jog my memory any further.
I also see a reply from behoof that was deleted...censorship at its best!
Aloha
dk FWIW they found out it was not clean quite quickly after they got it...
Aloha
dk were they at the Gay expo? filming it?
Aloha
skunks, like the rest of us he could have easily sold over .02, he knows there is more to come for Q and is frustrated that the pps has deteriorated so much once again. He had his chance, no need to keep bringing it up.
Aloha
he's been at the starting line so many times and I think now he fears more of the same results...
Hey we're all frustrated...but if you are not happy sell...don't waste your life sniveling.
Aloha
Charlie being someone not to listen too...eom
I was thinking more like charltuna LOL
Frank wants you to understand the significance of the Gay Games 2006. There is a lot of money spent on sports coverage.

Hispanic Lesbian Makes History in Dallas Poll
Wed Nov 3, 1:32 PM ET U.S. National - Reuters
DALLAS (Reuters) - Dallas County, the home to some of the biggest conservative supporters of President Bush (news - web sites), made history Tuesday night by electing an openly gay Hispanic woman as its sheriff.
Democrat Lupe Valdez, 57, pulled off one of the biggest surprises in the Texas races by defeating Republican Danny Chandler.
"Dallas is an international county," Valdez told reporters. That is what I want to represent."
She will be the first Democrat to serve as Dallas County sheriff in about 30 years. Valdez boasted that she has worked on law enforcement at a local, national and international level.
Valdez was an accomplished officer with U.S. Customs and other federal agencies who also served as a captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. She was endorsed by the main local daily the Dallas Morning News, which saw her as the best person to clean up a scandal-tainted sheriff's department.
Her predecessor, Sheriff Jim Bowles, a Republican, cast a shadow over the department when law enforcement officials said earlier this year he was being investigated on suspicion of receiving kickbacks for contracts from a vendor for the county jail.
Valdez's opponent Chandler was a veteran of the sheriff's department and political observers said the scandal may have tainted his campaign.
"We are tickled that Dallas County voters managed to shatter at least four different stereotypes in one fell swoop," the Dallas Morning News said in an editorial
IRISH...everybody is confused...time will prove me right!
Aloha
IRISHBULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL...did it ever occur to you that Frank used the wrong word?
Aloha
Have we actually proved this is THE IR company? It does not have the same name as the one in the PR nor does it mention QBID on it's website.
TIA

skunks if you notice on one of the stocks they profile it says NA on the stock count (CECU). So I would say it could go either way. And it seems like Bullboy is setting up for this one already...

A GTC at .0024....
After watching L2 on QBID enough to have a friggin bachelor's degree in it, I have come to the conclusion that most of us screw ourselves when the market is not favoring pinks.
The ask will be at say .005 and we will put our orders in at .0045, .0044, .0043 etc to get OURSELVES a deal. So the MM's see this and without much buying pressure they will jump it down a couple of tics and see what happens if not much buying comes in they take it down a couple more tics until we continually lose % everyday. ie: .028>.0029
If you were a MM and you knew you could short it at .005 and cover at .0045 WHY NOT? DOH! And all we do is help them...
When the market turns around we fly again! IMO get filled before it happens!
No worries mate.
Aloha
Keep in mind that TW, Comcast, DISH, Direct TV, RCN, Newspapers, Magazines and everybody else even remotely related to broadcasting is well aware of all the publicity Pink TV is getting right now and this bodes VERY WELL for Q...
The lid could come off this puppy at any given moment!
On the Q investor's RB board it was brought up regarding this codec board that is giving problems. I was told about this a month ago and posted about it-the big news is it is not just Q being affected...there are lots of things being held up because of this glitch. Good to hear it is almost fixed!
Aloha
Well, dkgross maybe you should spend some time telling them how to run their company...LOL
Couldn't hurt and might even help QBID!
Aloha
foxy your lack of intelligence never ceases to surprise me. You should limit your posting to the ones you poach from others.
Did you ever stop to think that maybe when Frank said they were going to get off the pinks they had actually hired someone to take care of it. Then that someone came back and told them that it was impossible.
Aloha
Gee Irish....
Maybe thats what the 75000 shares in the Q televison corp are for. DOH!
