Yes, it can be offered in the U.S. Recently launched in Canada, TFN has been gaining more interest in not just Canada but the U.S. as well. I finally got to talk with sales on Monday, even though TFN is offered on the Cancom platform (F1R ku), it is separate meaning contracts and authorization would go directly through TFN and not Cancom. I was pleased to hear this, I am interested in adding this to the system I work in. I wanted to pass this info on to others that are interested in getting your local provider to offer TFN and/or interested in offering it to your customers as well. link to there site: http://www.thefightnetwork.com/

I would lean on this guy to get info about the happenings of TFN. He would be able to provide a better picture of revenue since he is in the trenches every day.
Then how would explain gamez n flix?? They have 5x our OS and Circuit City hopped in bed with 'em.
I'm sure it takes money to sign agreements with the various MMA leagues. All the existing agreements are just for Canada, I'm sure new agreements will need to be reached for US programming.
The important part of the equation is that Trajectory Sports has already established credibility with DirectTV and Comcast. They already know all the key players within those companies so that will make it a much easier sell.
How many daily hits do you get on getTFN.com? I suspect a lot of the posters haven't lived up to their promise of posting on the MMA message boards.

Mike, yes I did! EOM
That post appears to have been written by a US cable operator.

I was thinking the Law since its already established with a fan base, and they can cross promote TFN
you start to realize that we are in the first inning of a long ball game!! Right mimurray
followed by Sirius or XM radio, followed by yet another US cable co, followed by preliminary US sub #'s,
What if there was an US carrier announcement like DirecTV followed up 2 weeks later that Comcast was on board, followed 2 weeks later by PPV and advertising revenue, followed 10 days later by Canadian subscription numbers, followed 10 days later by another US cable co.?
Get the picture? The good news could go on for a few months...we could get 3 big spikes into penny land.
News typically is released on Thurs. Morning.
They have been in talks with a US carrier since October '05. Thats why RUliquid is so confident. Racerxxx, quick question for you: how familiar are you with Trajectory Sports? Your answer will let me know how to proceed with you.
Was it a rotating banner ad? I didn't see anything connected to TFN either.
So you are saying there are now 4 Major MMA leagues (UFC, IFL, Pride FC, K1) that need TV coverage to keep fans up to date on the latest news? How about a channel that also provides interviews with the fighters and insights into their training? Does TFN fill a void in the marketplace?? Uhhh, yeahh!
What, by telling people that a 24 hour fight channel exists?
Not at all, cammi01. PrideFC is the premiere MMA organization in the world--bar none. UFC draws 17k, Pride FC draws 50k Plus to their events. Guess who has PRIDE FC--thats right, cammi01, TFN! Your Company!
And here is another interesting tid bit, cammi01, Pride FC has set their sights on the US. Guess where they want to hold their first event?? Not at the tiny Anaheim Pond, but at DODGER STADIUM!!! How is that for making a splash.
Then you have other leagues like K1, Pancrase, and several amateur leagues. You quickly discover, cammi01, that you are in the right place at the right time. A rising tide lifts all ships. The popularity and growth of UFC will only help MMA. Are you starting to see the big picture, cammi01??? You are on the front end of a major industry trend about to take place.
Sit and back enjoy the ride, cammi01!!
ESPN has NFL countdown as its pre game coverage (games are on FOX and CBS) and post game highlights on NFL prime time. Both get great ratings. Think ESPN, cammi01, if you want to grasp the big picture.
Yes, you are unequivocally wrong, cammi01. TFN provides coverage of UFC weigh ins and also pre and post fight coverage. Think of TFN as ESPN for the MMA world and you'll grasp what the big picture is all about here.
Thanks, Mike. I figure its better to round up 10K MMA fanatics to call their cable co and ask for TFN then whine about the lack of US carrier news. This could just accelerate things by creating awareness.
thanks, Mike. I'm the one that acually brought that site to the board. I've started 4 threads on TFN over there.
Question for the board
How would you all feel about posting messages on the various MMA boards to create awareness for TFN?? On slow days like today, there are more constructive things we can do to promote TFN than post on the IHUB board. There are hundreds of thousands of MMA FANATICS who have no idea that TFN even exists. How would you like to have all of them requesting TFN on their cable network?
uwlungman, we will be in good shape as long as this thing stays under 10B OS. I think that is reasonable.
Maybe you are better off going to the casinos and warning the blue haired crowd that they are going to lose their money on the slot machines. Its the same thing as bashing a stock that it is .0003
Canadian subs #'s and PPV revenue along with advertising revenue.
zzzzzzzz. WRONG! TFN provides pre and post fight coverage for UFC events including weigh ins. Think of TFN as the Sports Center for MMA.
45 days from today..putting us close to Memorial Day. IMO OF COURSE!!

Gotcha..i was thinking more grass roots. Target the 10,000 MMA academies across the country and give away free T shirts to promote the channel.
thats not what i heard......
Imagine if Sandy had the foresight to show up at that event to promote TFN--what an opportunity!! Just handing out TFN t shirts, bumper stickers, etc could have created a ton of exposure.
good job!
No, but it sounds good to me. You are in Calif. right? Things always seem to take off there before moving their way to the East Coast.
I also will be pitching a world renowned sports trainer (Christian Thibadeau) based in Canada an idea to host an MMA training show on TFN. The theme will be to teach MMA fighters the best ways to train and condition for fighting.
AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHTING(sm) CREATES MMA MINOR LEAGUE SYSTEM
http://www.boxinginsider.com/mma/stories/146290014.php
DENVER, COLORADO – Denver-based mixed martial arts promotion American Championship Fighting(sm) (ACF) has signed an agreement with two Colorado area promoters to create an MMA minor league or feeder system.
Both Rocky Mountain Bad Boyz, which runs an all-amateur MMA show in the Denver metro area, and Round 1 Promotions, which operates its all-amateur production in the Colorado Springs area, have united with the ACF(sm). As part of the agreement, the two promotions will produce a series of shows that allow their athletes the opportunity to fight for a 1-year contract from the ACF(sm). That 1-year contract ensures the winners the opportunity to become professional fighters at the ACF’s show in February of 2007 and affords them the luxury of training full-time as professional athletes.
The more leagues the better. As the sport continues to grow, there will be amateur tournaments and fights to televise.
