Good morning NBRI, I want to say a few things. I work in a hospital as a power plant operator, I do alot there but my primary responsibility is to provide continuous utilities to the hospital. My director has done a good job of maintaining our staff in light of constant cut backs due to government control of medical cost. I say this because whether our hospital is 20 percent occupied or 100 percent occupied, the cost to keep everything running is the same for our department. We still have to keep everything running. The same holds true for the mine when you are talking about running the mill. If you are going to run the mill for a few tons of material or run the mine for hundreds of tons of material the cost per hr are the same. Having interest in things like the generators and power plants, I looked at the generators at the mine. When Gary and I opened the cabinets to the big generator everything was in chinese so we couldn't really tell the size but from my experience I am guessing that the main generator for the plant is around 200 KW in size. I run 3 500 KW generators at the hospital and I know that under full load conditions we burn close to 100 gal an hr in fuel so I am guessing that a 200 KW generator might burn about 20-30 gal an hr of fuel. The fuel storage tank I saw out there at the mine looks to be about a 1000 gallons, again, I am guessing so I could be wrong on that. So lets get to the point. Until they get the channels ready with all the equipment up there with slushers and channels made big enough and the raises ready to go they are not going to be ready for any kind of production. My guess is that for the time being, getting everything ready to go, testing more channels, getting the raises ready, getting the mill ready with the rehab on the landing and other things we are looking at next year before any serious production takes place. Sampling looks like what they are doing now, you can blast away to open raises and load a few tons of material into an ore cart and drop it into the landing and check it with a metal detector and with a couple miners you can pan it for some gold. If they know where some pockets of potatoe patches are with nuggets they do not need the mine in full production to find those. So here is my final word on this, unless you are Gary and Charlie working at the mine or Norcal with experience in mining or have had friends working the mine previously or me having visited the mine and talked to the whole staff or are Perry knowing the financial aspects of the mine or are Lyla and training the miners out there, PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE do not make gross expectations about what should be going on out there or make statements about what is going on out there unless you see it in a PR. Everyone please have a great Thanksgiving Holiday and be thankful for all that we have.
Beau
Bruce, it is hard to put enthusiasm or disgust in an message post, but when you spend the whole day with a great geologist and miner you can feel the enthusiasm from them and all those involved with the mine. We have a good thing going here and I think patience is the word of the day and let Perry take care of the financial part of it and let Gary and Charlie take care of the mining part of it and stop the message posters from deciding how it should be done. Go NBRI.
Norcal, I like your perspective, you speak from experience and not from google searches. If any of you watched the video I did with Gary, you will here him talk about the bend that wrapped around the black channel and how it connects with the white channel, that is the area that he has been mapping. Also, read some of my updates the Gemstone put together as a group and stickied, I explained in one of the post about water coming down from the ceiling of the tunnel and how it relates to channels and how they find the lowest part of the channel. Gary is very intelligent and has plenty of experience as a geologist but don't forget that Charlie has decades of hands on experience of mining and sometimes intuition from experience goes a long way. I also recently posted that both Gary and Charlie feel there are lost channels that will make the black channel look like childs play and could produce fabulous results. Perry confirmed what Gary and Charlie feel and it was verified with the mapping Gary has been doing. Bulk sampling means different things to different people. I will say this not to be rude but from my visit to the mine, in my opinion they are not in a position right now to fire up the mine and start running material even if just to sample a few tons, it would be like starting up a 500 megawatt power plant to run a 100 watt light bulb, it isn't gonna happen. My visit and Norcal's experience, Perry's PR's and emails says it all and to speculate that we are gonna be running hundreds of tons of material just doesn't make sense. Again, In my opinion from what I saw, I can see them pushing a few tons of material into an ore cart and dumping it on the platform and using a metal detector and maybe some panning to sample the material, they are not gonna fire up the whole mine for a few tons. This is all just my opinion based on my visit and not from any other information known or unknown. Go NBRI.
I love reading all the bantor going back and forth here, makes for good reading. I am not sure about what Perry is refering to about snow removal equipment, when I was there they had a tractor with a loader and backhoe on it that could easily be used to move snow around the mine to clear from the entrance of the mine to the entrance of the mill if need be. The mine stays a constant temperature so working in there is not an issue. If you look at the newest Beacon report video you will see the 2 white boxes that were just installed, those were not there when I was there so those are new and used to store the explosives. They were putting 2 more miners through safety training while I was there as well so it would certainly indicate to me that they are planning to work as long as they can short of a blizzard. My Parents live in a remote area in Northern CA, they have a large enough area to land a helicopter and what the rescue plan that is in place for them is that there location is already plugged into a gps reading with there name and code, one call and the helicoptor could fly itself to there location in the event of an emergency. There are alot of options available to the Ruby to work through the winter, they could easily bring in temporary houseing if need be, there is plenty of room there for that and they have plenty of power available in the form of generators and a large fuel storage tank. When I was in the military I was part of a squadron that set up temp housing with chow hall, bathroom facilities and sleeping facilities so it can be done if they feel it is necessary. One thing I said before, why go through all this just to shut down for the winter. There is one motivation for them and that is the speciman gold due in February, they would have to give back the original 150k along with a penalty which would mean more money borrowed that would also cost more money. We can talk all we want but until Perry tells us whats going on we can only guess but rest assured, Perry, the miners, the Geologist and all us shareholders are just as anxious to get this done as anyone. Go NBRI.
Not sure what their plan is. I would guess there is no plan for a second shift. With 6 miners out there that would be the minimum to run one shift or at least get things started. There is still a lot of work to do out there. The walls to the landing are being rebuilt and other things are being rehabbed. There's a lot of things to wrap up before full scale mining gets going.
Sounds reasonable to me, remember though that each load is carefully gone through twice with a metal detector to pull out any specimen gold so it might go a little slower but the reward of large nuggets is worth it. Go NBRI.
I agree with you. I have been in several other mining stocks that talked a lot but the only thing they did was sell shares with nothing getting done. I have yet to see a stock claimed to be a P & D with only 250 mil shares authorized and in the case of NBRI we know where the money is going and it is not in Perry's pocket.
In the video of the black channel Gary says they would pull 4 or 5 ore carts under the chute and assuming each cart holds a ton that would be 5 tons each load. It's about a 30 minute round trip from the mine to the black channel and back. So I am only guessing it to be about 10 tons an hr but I could be wrong. Go NBRI.
Slusher, tugger, mucher, bucket puller, whatever we call it we know what it does. Go NBRI.
I never saw a bucket so can't answer that but would assume that would be correct. I only saw the mucher and cables. In the pics I called it a bucket puller cause I couldn't remember the name of it. Gary talked a lot while I was there so it was a lot of new information for me to take in. Go NBRI.
When I was there a couple weeks ago Lyla was getting ready to put 2 more miners through the mandatory mine safety training needed to meet MSHA requirements. That would put 6 miners at the mine. They have an additional 10 miners on call such as welders and electricians they can call if needed. I have to believe there next hurdle is getting the specimen gold out by February to meet there next deadline. We know Perry always has a plan. Go NBRI.
As far as I know they will use the same system. There is a picture of it in the group pics. That one is the one on the landing at the mill and there is one at the entrance to the white channel and I have to assume the way Gary talked they were going to use the same system.
When Gary took pictures of the first gold while at the mine he sent them to Perry. By the time Gary got back to the office an hr later those pics were already on the website so you know it will happen.
You all know that I have met with the Geologist, met with the miners, met the office staff and talked to Perry, you also know that there are some timelines that have to be met with balloon payments due the end of this year and contracts for specimen gold due in February. Do any of you think for one minute that any of those involved with the mine do not realize those same deadlines. I have seen first hand what they are doing and what has been done and everyone involved wants this done as much as us shareholders want it done. It will be done and it will be done as fast as is humanly possible, they are not sitting around picking there noses. IT WILL GET DONE. You have trusted Perry this far along, trust he will get it done and complaining about it does not get it done any faster. We are on the verge of something great here, let it happen. Go NBRI.
I'll give you a code word, the code word is "not gonna happen" Please don't be offended, I have built up trust with all the people associated with the Ruby from Perry to the office staff. Yes I have the contact phone numbers but would NEVER compromise that confidentiality. I have been asked several times for that phone number and my response is always the same, contact Perry for the number, it is not going to come from me. Again, don't be offended but I am not going to put myself, Perry or the Ruby in any position to create issues with the SEC about insider information.
Good morning NBRI, Here is a history lesson on mining and how it affects the Ruby. If you look at a google map of the Ruby you wonder how or why the mine entrance is where it is. It is out in the middle of nowhere and doesn't seem to make sense. That was a question I asked Gary Clifton when I was in the office. I wanted to know how the Ruby came to be. On our way out to the mine Gary took a little side trip and we pulled over next to the Yuba River. He went through a history of how mining developed in the Valley. The miners started mining in the rivers, when the gold started drying up is when they started the hydro mining, they would actually blow out whole canyons, sometimes 300 and 400 ft deep washing out all the old gravel. In Grass Valley there are alot of those old hydraulic nozzles on display, they are 6-8 feet long and maybe 6 inches in diameter and can blow out water at an incredible pressure. Once the canyons were washed out and the gold was recovered they started looking to see where the gold was coming from and that is when they noticed the outcroppings of quartz veins and started working those veins and following them as far back as they could and would branch out following the vein. While following the veins that go deep into the mountain they would find areas in the tunnels where water would be dripping down from the veins and started working those to find old channels and started working those. If you were to buy a claim today on unknown land with no history where would you start? Maybe start a drilling program or some other method to locate channels? Now lets talk about the Ruby. In one of my post I commented on the Tunnel and how they know where channels are, there are several places that enough water is coming down from the ceiling that would indicate an existing channel. Remember the post about drilling up to test and moving over to either side to determine the lowest part of the channel. It is alot cheaper to drill up to find a channel based on known information then start a drilling program from above. The Ruby already has known channels with some mined and some unmined they also have historical maps from several companies that show locations for future channels that can be worked. I was able to look at some of these maps and part of the 3D mapping process they have also outlined all of the quartz veins that branch off of the existing channels and the direction of the quartz veins that would indicate the location of more channels. Charlie and Gary think they have located one of the lost channels that they feel holds more gold then the black channel. The 3D mapping Gary did on the black channel will be posted on the website when he gets it all put together. So here's my point, we don't need a drilling program to decide where the gold is, we know where the gold is, we know historically how much gold has come out so we don't need a PEA to tell us how much potential is there. We have 2 guys, Gary and Charlie who have decades of mining experience all around the world working in the mine and know what they are doing. There is enough potential in the Ruby with known channels, lost channels, quartz veins and world class miners that they will be mining the Ruby for the next 20-30 yrs so if mining starts this month or next month or next spring, it is the start of something big. They are making changes in the office, hired a graphic designer to create graphics for there signs and have done things just recently like the 2 new magazines at the mine to hold the explosives. If Perry was concerned about the money due the end of December, he would have put everything on hold til next spring and saved alot of money until he could pay off the note. He moves on and the mine moves on because in my opinion, Perry knows what he is doing and is moving on. It's like refinancing your house or losing your house, would you be remodeling your house if you thought you were going to lose it in a few months. All this is just my opinion based on facts I know are true from my visit to the mine and not listening to someone on a message board. Go NBRI.
You're very welcome. It was a trip that was well worth the effort. I learned a lot from the trip and only made me feel better about my investment. It's good to be back in Indy. Go NBRI.
Don't tell me, show me, give me some shares. Go NBRI.
Some of the miners do stay out there at the mine. The nearest town is an hr away. Not sure where they stay but there are no facilities out there except a sink and wash room. there are a couple ponds out there but that would be a cold dunk. Not sure if the miners use the trailer that is out there cause that is where the geologist stays when he is there.
The previous company had issues with parts of the road and the forest service gave them permision to install blacktop on a portion of the road and if I remember correctly it cost 300k for about a half mile section of the road. Forest service probably wouldn't object to improving the road but again this takes money that NBRI does't have right now.
Good morning NBRI, I say morning because I am back home now and back to working my night schedule. I want to say this and do not mean to be rude but until you physically go to the mine you cannot speculate about access. For the most part the roads are good going out to the mine with the exception of the last 5 miles of dirt and gravel roads. Those last 5 miles are horrible, steep, rutty and plain dangerous and with any amount of snow that would be even worse. For the most part the mining operation can continue through the winter but can't do much with no miners out there. If you look at the pictures I posted there is one that shows the landing where the ore carts drop the load. It is huge, maybe 100 ft long, 20 ft wide and 20 ft or more in height, they can store alot of material there and it is well protected from snow. There is a camp someplace else on the property but I was not able to go see it when out there so not sure how it is in relationship to the mine. They could always bring in portable trailers if they choose to do that, there is one small trailer out there but that is used by the geologist when he stays out there. We can discuss this till the cows come home but you have to see it out there to understand what it is really like. Perry wants to get this thing going, I heard it several times out there from the miners and the geologist that Perry is pushing them. We can all speculate what will happen but just know this, Perry, the geologist and the miners are just as anxious to get this going as are us shareholders and for us to continue to discuss altitude, weather patterns, mining operations and when blasting will start doesn't change a thing and it will get done as fast as is physically possible. Those guys are not out there sitting around, there is alot to do out there. If you watched the newest video that was posted yesterday and saw the 2 white boxes in the ground back in the hill, those are the magazines that will hold the explosives, they needed to install those in order to get the explosives delivered and the one that was onsite was not big enough for what they wanted. They pay good money to have the explosives delivered so the bigger the magazines the more they can get with each delivery. Again, I want to say that I am not being rude about this issue but you have to see what it is like to drive out there to know what they are up against.
Thanks. That worked.
Thank you, that worked...
Anyone else having issues with Ihub after upgrading to the new IOS 7 on there Iphones, I can't get logged in now so can't see my stock anymore.
Woohoo. I'm on the website now. They posted 2 of my videos under reports and videos.
Ok so I read the Beacon report and it is VERY accurate with what I saw and heard. Note the comments on page 6 on the Bald Mountain Extension. It got washed out and was crossed by the Black Channel and lost the other end of it. As it says in the report, finding the continuation of that channel is important. It very well could hold more gold then the black channel. Go NBRI.
Dam, I should get a fee then for my report. Go NBRI.
Malc, I guess that's how message boards work. Some look at things differently. I'm no expert on fundamentals but I know what I have seen with potential. In my opinion there are yet to be discovered channels that will make the black and white channels look like peanuts if we can get through the debt situation and long term I can see this mine producing for 20 yrs. go NBRI.
That's a great recap gemstone. You might sticky that for future reference.
I'm just waiting for a post that says all my pics and videos were staged on a set since I was also in SoCal for awhile. Go NBRI. And I am back home in Indiana now long trip but very good and dad is as good as can be expected for his age. I'm planning another trip out there in the spring.
If there is any doubt in anyone's mind about this company after reading this forum the last few days with videos, pictures and now the safety director here then you must live under a rock. Go NBRI.
Lyla, I appreciated all your hospitality during my visit and talked to Gary today and thanked him and told him to thank all of you. I think the people on this forum have a better appreciation for what Perry has accomplished and we are working towards a world class company. Go NBRI.
Having the permits and having the explosives are 2 different things. As we know, Perry keeps us informed and when there is nothing to say he doesn't fluff us but when there is something to say Perry will tell us. I do not know when the explosives will be onsight or how long it will take to get them so don't assume that it will happen next week, I know what the PR says but we all know what we want and what really happens can sometimes be different. It is going to happen, believe me, I saw what has been done out there and they have accomplished a lot. I am going to say this and it will probably upset some people but you have to know that in my opinion we have a good thing here. Perry will take care of the money, he has way too much invested in this, how he does it doesn't matter to me, 5 yrs from now will it make a difference if he converts more shares to get this thing going full throttle and the stock is 2 digits to the left of the decimal. What if it snows 10 ft tomorrow and the mine closes until next April. Will any of that matter if in 5 yrs we have 5 or 6 or 10 mines going. If you are a trader and waiting to cash in big bucks in a few weeks or months then you are in the wrong stock. In my opinion I think there are yet to be discovered channels that will make the Black and White channels look like peanuts. I have no inside information, I have not bought any stock in several months nor do I even have any money left to buy any more stock so do not think I have anymore information then what is here. By the way, Dad is doing good and my trip to CA has been well worth the time, thank you to everyones well wishes. Have a great weekend and we will see you on the flip side. Go NBRI..
For the record, the pics and videos are not copyrighted so feel free to use them or share them all you want. Who knows, they may end up on the website someday.
The link isn't working the best thing to do is to go to the sticky at the top edge of the message board and click on the photo bucket and it should be the first video under the ruby mine
That video of them talking about the black channel was worth the whole trip. That's as far back in the mine we went. You can hear the splashing of the water and mud and when I came out I was solid mud from waist down but you are hearing a world class geologist and miner talking. Between them both they have decades of mining experience around the world. Perry only hires the best.
The mine sat idle for a long time. Each time there was a cave in the water would back up. The water line you see is indeed where the water was at that point. There were some places in the mine you could look up and see a small white circle which was an air pocket and at that point it was filled to the ceiling with water. Each cave in and water backup prevented the natural air circulation that's why the air vents were installed as the moved in further into the tunnel.
Good, I have to reload some of the videos that didn't load right the first time.
Specimen Gold. In order to preserve the integrity of the specimen gold in the channels they have in place several procedures. First, when they blast a channel they will go in with a metal detector to check for any gold. If they find any they will pull it out at that time. When the gravel is pulled down into the ore cart and taken out to the mill and dumped they will check it again with metal detectors before pulling into the mill. As you know, specimen gold can bring 2 to 3 times more then the spot price of gold so they do what they can to preserve that.
