"Guys, I promise it will be good.. I will do everything to make it good..."
James is selling out on Never Submit. I think its a make it our break it film for him.
Somebody hasn't done their DD..the answer is right in front of you. LOOK FOR IT!!
According to James, Georges St. Pierre will play the best friend of the lead star and help him in getting ready for the MMA tournament. GSP is a huge star in Canada and makes sense for him to have a big role. I'm sure other MMA stars will be featured in the fight scenes.
check out James' posts on Sherdog.net for more info.
"Exactly how most of these movies go, thats why I wanted a different and unique approach. I was thinking the exact same thing. Have the lead character a good actor (but not some hollywood wimp) and his training partner/friend being someone like GSP. Then having the oponents he faces be known fighters"
The plot line is about a Canadian Judo champion and his first MMA tournament. I wanted to go with a lead character that is educated and middle class, rather than the typical Rocky type fight movie where the lead character is down and out.
It follows this character as he fights in a tournament that takes place over a weekend. He has a loyal girlfriend, coach, father who are there supporting him. The fighting rules in the movie are basically the same as Pride rules. It will either be light heavyweight or an open weight tournament.
Rather than it being like Rocky, where the character is the underdog, the fighter in this movie actually is doing better than he expected in the tournament. But the problems start when he starts winning. Success starts going to his head, and all the temptations that follow. I wanted a champion who wins, but is still not fulfilled. The idea for the movie first came to me when I saw that image of Mark Coleman, when he wins the Pride tournament and is sitting all by himself with the belt and the trophy. He won, but he seems all alone and unfulfilled.
I have at least five fights in the movie, which I want to spend a lot of time with making them visually exciting. And I show all the things that surround the fight, like what happens backstage, the preparations, etc. I want the audience to feel like they are experiencing everything with the fighter. I want those watching to experience everything from him walking out to his first fight, to the pain that he suffers in the ring. And have it very realistic."

This guy is talented, there is no question about that. This movie is going to be first class, remember James is very well connected in the MMA world. He is one of the few directors in Hollywood with his ear that close to the ground in MMA.
No, he's a lock to be in that movie, not the lead role but more of a supporting role. The timing couldnt be better, he's in a title bout in September and will be given tons of publicity if he wins.
Say It in Russian has 20x the budget as All That I Need, its no comparison. That said, ATIN still got into 93 theaters last year, I expect SIIR will do significantly better.
Also, a better writer, director and executive producer, this is IPRE's first feature film.
IPRE was able to get "All That I Need" into 93 theaters across the country. "Say It In Russian" with 20x the budget of ATIN, and with well known actors should be able to do much, much better than that.
The budget of “Say it in Russian” was over 20 times the budget of “All That I Need.”

It has named actors and is shot on 35mm film, and is a completely different type of film that appeals to the mainstream market. We have been approached by several distributors already before the film has even been finished. I have been on set and watched the footage. It has a great cast and I think will do very well. It was worth it to make this investment at this time and in my opinion will pay off significantly. We simply had no choice, as it was essential to the long-term health of the company. Movie making is expensive, but the resulting product has a long term useful life. And, after all, the whole point of this company is to make movies. We are making movies, not just talking about it. Please look on the Internet movie database website, www.imdb.com, for more information and still photographs of the film.
3) Since many of us in the company have been on set, we have not been able to communicate with shareholders. As stated above, people fear the worst when there is no communication. While shareholders may not see what is going on, I assure you that the company has been very busy the past few weeks making “Say it in Russian” the best that it can be. I believe you will be impressed with the final result. I feel if every investor saw the hard work that is being done on set, they would feel very comfortable about the company.
I think you are referring to SPRE which was the company that purchased the rights to Elvis' estate. It was a reverse merger and it had only 7M os, if I recall correctly.
James isn't over there. The "first team" is.
Anybody know where to find box office numbers for Jeff Celentano's older movies? Did any of them do well in theaters?
I checked the-numbers.com and boxofficeguru.com and didnt find anything.
We could..but I much rather have you look up the people IPRE has over there selling the film. Specifically, Patrick De Bokay and Michael Levine. The contacts that these people have in the industry can not be discounted.
Ranzy, remember this...fancy posters and trailers don't win for you, PEOPLE win for you. These guys can get the appointments with decision makers.
Was Friday a good movie?
obviously you haven't done any DD on this stock. You will never understand, please just move on.
The PR stated that the movie was entered in the Cannes Film market. There are still meeting with execs and will gain exposure.
wishful thinking on your part..
Read a little more about the "first team" that was sent over to Cannes and read up on LCO. I bet you dollar to donuts that they are doing power lunches over caviar and champagne with movie execs. These people don't play around--you're in for a real treat, Ranzy.
Thanks..I get most of my MMA info from sherdog.net and t-nation.com
James has almost 1000 posts on sherdog.net, he seems like a huge MMA fan and has a background in Judo. "Never Submit" is the one that will bring huge exposure to this company. Canada has a 24 hr. combat sports channel and there are MMA fanatics all over Canada and the US. I can't see this movie flopping. It could do 20M just in Canada.
Welcome on board, "gold man". You are in the right place.
No big deal. We all make mistakes.
She's in her late 40's...I think Tito can do a little better than that. http://www.sherdog.net/forums/showthread.php?t=369171 here's a pic
I guess "James" must be pulling your leg. How is the rest of your DD?
Cindy isn't his wife! Where do you come up with this stuff?!
Most of these were Big studio movies, not indies. Thanks for the list.
How many indie films grossed 100M last year, genius??
I think closer to 5-10M.
Didn't the Cannes start last night?
Most sold to get into IPRE in the hopes of parlaying it into 3-5x more shares of BKMP. BKMP about 45 days away from takeoff, IMO.
James is going to use the higher share price (.10-.20) to acquire other companies and technoligies that will grow the company.
That said, I'll stll rather have "Never Submit" in theatres first. It would have more impact, Time Warner is probably working with a much larger budget than 1-3M.
"Never Submit" vs. "Arrow" --MMA fans will probably see both!

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Rob Cohen, the director of last summer's box office bomb "Stealth," is attached to shoot "Arrow," a mixed martial arts movie.

The contents of the script are being kept under wraps. The project is set up at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Cohen is no outsider to the martial arts world, having directed 1993's "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story." His other credits include such testosterone-fueled fare as "The Fast and the Furious" and "XXX."

there are no secrets, pal. The ratings for Spike are public information, the demographics are known and it is also a widely known fact that the male 18-34 demographic is one of the hardest to reach and very coveted.
you don't have to ask anybody. It's the fastest growing specator sport in N. America. Look at how many people watch Spike TV's UFC reality show, look at how many people do searches on Yahoo for MMA. Time Warner just announced they are also doing an MMA movie called Arrow. I hope ours is released first.
Only hole in your theory, is that in a month they will probably start casting for Never Submit. If they announce a few big names--look out!
I'm sure both of those movies will want to advertise on TFN. More revenue for BKMP.
you are really going out on a limb there, machine lol
Hopefully, Never Submit, will be first to the market.
Its almost a lock that Georges St. Pierre will be in the MMA film. He has a title match in UFC this fall against Matt Hughes and is one of the sports up and coming stars.
Sounds like James and the "first team" are in for a real treat--12 day orgies, champagne and caviar. Good stuff.
Just wondering why you went all in on BKMP and didnt leave any dry powder to buy the runners. Then you can come back and double or triple your position in BKMP.
