skunks....do you have a link for RCN web site? Did you click on the region that would include San Diego to see if it was an area covered by RCN? Neal
Skunks....see where this leads you....I don't recall San Diego being a market for QBID through RCN.......so who do they carriage through? Neal

I hate BAD feelings, but this sudden decline at the end of the trading day, makes me feel like the average investor just went "Oppps! No PR......where's the carriage news? Tuesday was the rumor....Uh Oh....better move out!" Now I sense tomorrow will not be good!. I'll take a pill....better yet, I hope tomoorow has a Good PR......otherwise people are going to start thinking there is no other carriage to be announced and we could tank. Don't want that......faint at heart.....too old for this non-sense.
Frank....if you're reading this.......hope there's good carriage news and you release the news soon! Neal

I was at least moderately impressed with the appearance of Chrissy Gephardt on The O'Reilly Factor tonight. (lesbian) Were QBID to really get a professional personality on the News section of the programming, it could be a BIG plus for the company. I realize this is probably monor and only indirectly related, but I can remember when FOX first started......now BIG time! Furturistically, a good outspoken personality could help make QBID a TV success. (wishing) Neal

The scheduled start-up date for Viacom's planned Logo cable TV network is February. The date was incorrect in a Monday Part 2 story about gay and lesbian media.
WOW! What a DAY! Made me feel sick! All I can say, is keep this in mind......everytime you hear "who's selling?" Or "look at all the sells!" Remember...in EACH and EVERY case...someone is BUYING!
Soooooooo...the moral of todays drop is this:
"Clowns to the left of me....Jokers to the right.....and here I am stuck in the middle with you!"
Hoping tomorrow's a better day! Neal
onyx pup...I'm beginning to suspect that the population figure of the G/L community is really very unknown.....too many closet members for an accurate count. The real figure is probably much higher.
GreatKhan asked about advertising revenues. I thought if subscription, there would be NO advertising. I don't see any on HBO.....am I wronge?
The 250,000 subscribers X $4 equals 1 million per month from some poster here, sure sounded good. If the population is really much more than 30 million, that sounds very reachable. IMHO
How many subscribers do we need to be a hit? I get confusing figures here on the board. Let me cite three posts, with the pertinent points relating to number of subscribers and one relating to population of G/L. 1) Foxy post on 7/28/04 #18153 where he states the G/L population is 30 million. 2) Post #18502 where it states it will take years to hit 10 million subscribers. 3) Post #18157 on 7/28....Here's the important quote: "That is not to say Viacom's decision to launch Logo isn't daring. Not only has Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone pegged start-up costs at $30 million, but getting distribution outside major urban areas could prove challenging. MTV President Brian Graden says the channel will be in between 10 million and 15 million homes at launch. Getting to the 50 million subscribers that most cable networks need before they can start to make money will be no small task, although Viacom Co-President Tom Freston has said he expects Logo to be profitable within three years."
For discussion, which points are valid? If there's a 30 million population and we need 10 million subscribers which will take years, that's a penetration of 33% of the population of G/L. If the figure is 50 million, that's more than the entire population. The math doesn't add up here!
So, I'm not sure any of the figures are correct from the 3 posts, but it does seem it would be of value to at least have an idea of how many subscribers we're looking for as we go forward, where we will start feeling like we're really getting somewhere. Somewhere in the future we'll see a post telling us we have 100,000 subscribers, or something like that. Good or Bad? Anyone have any ideas on this subject? Neal
Skunsyard.....I never could stay away from charts, as they add to the historical data in graph form. However, I try to count them as less of an accurate predictor of the future in the pennies. Then I get stung, proven wrong, and I tend to look more closely at them. But, these penny stocks can sure make a chart explode and implode with and without notice. I just stay loose! Currently I'm collecting four leafed clovers, to see if that helps! :~) I could try astrology, but the astronomical community would repudiate me. Just give me some solid verifiable news and I can usually guess what's going to happen about 50% of the time, which seems to be my average when flipping coins. Neal
matrixxx, et al. board....confused over these mentions of number of subscribers...needed or wanted.....in this last post reference to "10 million would take years". Didn't Foxy or someone else post an article in the last week where the writer indicated that 50 million was normally needed to break even? I could be wrong with my tired brain.....but, what are thoughts on needed number of subscribers? (And I suppose that varies with bundled or free standing subscriptions)????? Neal
foxy...I have no idea who said that post was not true. If my comment roughly to the effect that I hoped there was more truth than wishful thinking, implied to you that I didn't think it was truthful......sorry, didn't mean to imply that. However, take this statement in the post: "but he said it is just a matter of time before other carriers and charters pick them up."
I'll repeat...I hope there's more truth than wishful thinking. If your issue was something else, I missed it. It was a nice post...I enjoyed it. Neal
Interesting post from a RON on the new QBID member forum. As always, it is not true news, and can't be verified, but I hope it contains more truth then wishing. Neal
GOOD NEWS for us true longs that DID NOT sell today. Patience will pay off, read this people:

Nice RCN confirmation by robertmic71 on RB:
http://www.ragingbull.lycos.com/mboard/boards.cgi?board=QBID&read=472849
"RCN CONFIRMED.
I just called RCN and had a long discussion with the their commercial Dept. Well, they WILL be carrying Q Television Network as a premium channel. They haven't rolled out whether it will be broadcast as a subscriber (like Starz or HBO) or bundled together with their programming.
The one thing the guy said was they were were getting loads and loads of phone calls about it all day every day. But he said calls from everywhere. He said many of the places weren't even areas that RCN services, but he said it is just a matter of time before other carriers and charters pick them up. He said they were gathering the program line-up and should be no problem to roll out Sept. 1 as a premium station. I had my doubts, but not anymore folks. This guy said they have never gotten more calls for anything. Maybe it's all Q investors, but it still get the word out there. So call RCN and all your cable carriers and tell them to get Q television, RCN has them so should they. Good luck to all longs."
Matrixxxx...I hope so. But, RB is now rampant with false copiers.....ie. using nealqalt instead of nealgalt. Also, full of just plain old hecklers....or bashers. Someone even grabbed my name here, although I havn't seen him/her post for awhile. So, I had to use nealgalt1.
After 30 minutes of the non-sense on RB, I found I would always visit IHub for a taste of sanity, reason, and intelligence. So, YES! Here I am. May be imaging tonight on some galaxies, but I usually get to check the post every 45 minutes or so. Not being rude with the delays, just can't get to the computer when it's driving a large telescope.
Go QBID.....I've got enough of this stock to buy Mt. Palomar if it ever hits .13 (now that's wishful thinking...but, who knows?) Neal
I have enjoyed reading the posts from this board for over a year now and finally decided to participate on a limited basis. Always admired the way posters like Big Tips, CIA, and Skunksyard presented their views. Many others, but can't mention them all. I hope I can contribute some good personal opinions from time to time.
OT...but, I'm an astronomer, so I tend to be somewhat scientific although not a chartman.
Here's hoping QBID announces a better accepted carrier in the near future and we all have nothing but upward "WOW'S" to talk about. Neal
