The importance of Biofrontera/DNAP merger:
"As part of our development strategy, we have entered into a relationship with Biofrontera AG, a cutting edge genomics/pharmaceutical company based in Europe. Our technology allows us to determine a patient's response to a drug treatment
thereby allowing us to isolate those patients that are non-responders to the drug treatment. Biofrontera, using their differential expression pattern display (DEPD) technology can compare those patients who have not responded to treatment
with patients who have responded and they are then able to identify unique inherited cellular pathways that may help us develop better medications for non-responders. The combination of unique technologies held by Biofrontera and us provides the innovative edge we believe will be needed to meet the challenges
of the emerging market of personalized medicine. We believe that our approach to drug discovery and development offers our shareholders and the shareholders of Biofrontera a unique opportunity. The combination of Biofrontera's and DNAPrint's technologies provides a library of novel compounds (1,500,000
isolates), screening technologies, cloning capabilities, animal testing, receptor pathway development, clinical trials experience and novel patient screening to help accelerate drug discovery, development and approval. Additionally, Biofrontera has two phase two drugs, one for chronic itching and
another for pre-cancerous skin lesions with a pre-clinical migraine product to treat re-occurring migraine headaches which in the U.S. alone effects nearly 14 million people. We believe that this unprecedented opportunity offers our shareholders a higher potential for increased shareholder value. Additionally,
we have gained access to drugs that are advanced in discovery and development that our technologies can further enhance. The synergy that has been created between the two companies will allow us to rapidly develop our expertise in the personal prescription care market that is emerging."

"The computational biology scientists at DNAPrint Pharmaceuticals have developed a system for analyzing complex biological processes. "Our offering is pragmatic," says Dr. Barbara Handelin, General Manager of Computational Biology. "Even with an imperfect understanding of disease and human physiology, we have shown that we can create highly predictive models that improve the understanding of researchers. We are especially excited to demonstrate to potential clients how modeling can work synergistically with genetic studies of drug response."

Security w/Biofontera:
"``We believe our investment in Biofrontera will prove to be beneficial to DNAPrint genomics and to our shareholders,'' said DNAPrint genomics President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gabriel. ``It validates our decision to build a collaborative relationship with Biofrontera in advance of its anticipated initial public offering.''
``Biofrontera is an excellent business partner for us because of its drug-product pipeline,'' said Hector J. Gomez, Ph.D., Chairman and Chief Medical Officer at DNAPrint genomics. ``We are pleased with our relationship with Biofrontera, and we have the highest confidence in its management team. We are confident the new funding will assist Biofrontera in advancing its drugs into the market.''
Mr. Gabriel and Dr. Gomez both are members of Biofrontera's Board of Directors.
``DNAPrint genomics, Inc. and its support were crucial to our securing this new financing,'' said Prof. Hermann Lubbert, Chief Executive Officer of Biofrontera AG. ``We look forward to building our relationship with DNAPrint and believe that the synergy of the two companies and their technologies may offer a faster, cheaper and more effective way to develop drugs,'' he concluded.

Tony's vision...:
"We are working smarter, building deeper maps, making “master” databanks and building more sophisticated analytical algorithms than companies with budgets 10 times as large as ours. These things lead to products, which will lead to revenues and profits. They can also enhance shareholder value through other mechanisms. We will continue to build and devote ourselves to making DNAPrint a stunning success.
We are the first micro-cap company that I know of, anywhere, to begin to make an impact in the challenging and expensive field of genomics. You should feel proud of the company you have helped build!"

Good PR for DNAP:
Robyn Williams: Do you mean you could read off parts of the DNA and from it build up a picture of what that person looks like?
Angela van Daal: Yes.
Robyn Williams: That’s astonishing.
Angela van Daal: Yes, but it will happen in the future. It’s obviously a very complex thing but we’ve already made some progress. There are a few genes we know of that are involved, for example, in red hair. We know there’s a particular gene that if you have one or two changes at that gene you are very likely to have red hair. We also have found a gene that, if we have again one or two changes, there’s a much stronger association with dark colouring. So we’re making progress, but yes, it’s a complex thing, but down the track we will be doing that, I think.
Robyn Williams: Nationality, I hesitate to say race?
Angela van Daal: Interesting you ask that There is actually a company in the United States called DNA Print who currently offer a test that has actually been used in a forensic investigation there, where they offer a service that will provide information on your ancestry, your what they call ‘biogeographical ancestry’. And they look at hundreds of different regions of the DNA where changes are associated with one race in particular more commonly, and they can look at hundreds and build up a picture of your ancestry. And they used that in a case where there were a series of rapes and homicides occurring in New Orleans and there had been some eyewitness evidence that suggested the perpetrator was a Caucasian, and they had an identikit picture. And they pursued that investigation for about a year, made no progress and then heard about this particular test and did the test and the test predicted that the perpetrator was actually 85% African/American and 15% American Indian, and that clearly changed the nature of the investigation and led very quickly to an arrest. And when that person’s DNA was compared to the crime scene samples it was a match.

(From an article of test case in rural Australia)
"Already, some scientists have raised the prospect of police using a spot of blood at a crime scene to identify an offender's hair colour, ethnic background, skin colour, height and even nose size and age. A Queensland University of Technology forensic scientist, Angela van Daal predicted that genetic discoveries from the Human Genome Project would “revolutionise” criminal investigations within two to five years."

Arch & Michiko:
Have to defend my "dumbness." - lol Don't want anyone thinking I'm so lame that I couldn't look up the NYSE exch. info myself. And thank you for your help, Arch & Michiko, but, a friend on the phone led me to believe today was Tues. I didn't look at calendar for a couple of days, went gambling and went along w/that. Lots going on here. It's confusion reigns supreme for me these last few days. Thanks again, and a Happy New Year to all. I'll try not to be that careless again -I know...no one probably cares less - lol
Take care,
