Hey glassy, just got back from going out to eat in Baytown and saw gas at valaro and Kroger for $2.89...
Washington this week, please.
OMG! that would be cute. lol
Thanks my friend. Yea, maybe I should go ahead and sell that dress. LOL
U2 joanneg!
LOL...I'm not real sure what we will do if we do snag him and get him on land. LOL Boy there should be a lot of pincher plays with the way the market moved last week!
Thanks joanneg, no secret, just a little luck I guess.
I just found out from callthebank's post. I was having a bad day up to that point. The Texans lost today and when we got back from the game, my neighbor and I tried to snag a seven foot aligator out of my pond. He must have been displaced from the storm and decided to take up residence in our pond. He already ate one of our white ducks and we were afraid one of our dogs might be next so he has to go! Anyway, we never could land him (Crocodile Dundee would not have been impressed) LOL! Try again tomorrow. Hopefully I can start getting back into stocks this week as things are starting to slow down a bit.
WOW, thanks CTB, I've been so busy that I forgot that I even submitted an entry this week. This helps me feel better after watching my Texans just give a game away today!
The last I heard, Papadeaux's still was without power. The new El Toro's is probably open, as most of the power has been restored in that area, but We haven't been down Garth yet.
Papadeaux's in Kemah survived!!! Yoo Hoo!
carolina for me this week.
Great, glassy, I'm happy that you and your family did OK! I am proud of my fellow Texans for handling this tragedy with an outstanding attitude and can-do determination to get things back to normal with minimal dependance on the feds. There has been a lot of generous help from the private sector from all over the country and our friends from across our borders also.
hey doinit, I'm a bag holder in Houston area, but I only have about $400 in it. I don't have any plans to go out that direction at this time (a little busy with storm clean up) but if I should I will let this board know in advance and will try to alot plenty of time to snoop around.
Hey glassy, did you and your family come out all right from Ike? Any damage?
Hey MrB. hows it going? I've been so busy since Ike that I haven't had many opportunities to get on line much less stay up with everything. I'll be very busy at work and at home for a while I'm afraid. Hope you guys don't forget who I am! LOL As you know, My house came out of the storm OK, but the plant that I work at was flooded. My office had 18" of water in it. We had picked most things up before the storm, but the bottom drawers in our desks were flooded and I never even thought about my desk drawer contents. It will take weeks to dry and sort out the files from that drawer. Anyway, I have a lot to be thankful for also. There were many who were not as fortunate I'm afraid. There are still many people missing and unaccounted for that were on the Boliver Peninsula (Sp? too tired to check). I hope to slowly get back to normal so I'll post and read when I can.
Jack
Dallas for me this week.
Hey all, made it thru Ike OK, been very busy here at work since. My house is OK but it was scary! Just got power back at work, still without at home. May have more time to post tomorrow. Thanks to all my friends for your concern and prayers! I don't have time to catch up on all post now but I hope glassy come out of Ike OK. Try to post more tomorrow.
Jack
Thanks MrBigz, Don't know how much longer we will have power so a quick update. I am at home with wife, Finnished boarding up house with help from great neighbors as I started having a bad back spasm that slowed me. (my luck) With help of some of wifes mussle relaxers I was able to continue. Still a little loopy. Winds are picking up. Around 40mph right now. Water behind my house looks to be up by about seven feet. My neighbors pier is probably about to get it! $80K, down the tubes as you can't get insurance on one. So far it looks like we are in position to get hit hard tonight and into tommorow morning. They moved the Texans game to Monday nite, so maybe we will still get to go as I am a season ticket holder. Oh yea, Almost no one at my plant that were tier one wanted to go to the hotel, so they let me stay at my house with the promise that I would be able to return when required. So I promised.
Will try to update later.
Jack
UPDATE: Hey all, I'm at work right now but will be leaving soon. I appreciate everyone's concerns and prayers. There are some wonderful people on this board. The bay level is already rising and wind is beginning to get a bit brezzy. The projected path has been moved to a direct hit in Galveston Bay. I may ride this thing out at home as I think I have talked my superiors into it. I still have a few windows to board up today. There are people planning to ride it out on Galveston Island. If it hits where they are projecting right now, those people will be in grave danger so please keep them in your prayers also. Stay safe glassy! I will check back in when I can.
I would like to make a pick for week #3 as it is possible that I may not have access to internet next week due to Hurricane Ike. I would like Buffalo Bills for week three. TIA
They are thinking Early Sat Morn.
Thanks, you too glassy!
My wife will probablly go to her folks in La. and my company will put tier #1 empolyees (I am tier 1) up in a Hotel on the east side of Houston untill the storm has passed. Then we return to the plant to evaluate dammage. If we are not at a great risk of 20' storm surge, I will probably be allowed to stay home instead of the hotel and my wife would stay and we will ride it out at home.
Crap glassy, the latest update just adjusted expected landfall to Freeport! That would be the worst case for us!!! If that is where it hits and it carries a 22'-25' storm surge into Galveston bay as they say is possible, I'll lose my home for sure, and everything in it. The one good thing is that they rarely guess the landfall this far in advance. Landfall to our east would be so much better for us.
LOL!!!!
I'm afraid we are not going to dodge this bullet. I just saw that if landfall remains the Matagorta bay area, we can expext a 10'-12' storm surge in Galveston Bay. If it turns to a position just to the west of Houston we may see as much as a 22' storm surge. My house is 23' above sea level.
Thanks CTB, I've been really busy today and havn't been able to do any stock DD.
Hey MrBigz, well here we (Gulf Coast) go again! We are probably going to get it this time! I'm starting storm preparations at work and home tonight. I will probably be out of pocket for a while. Glassy too! Talk to ya later.
That's what I read it to say also. I'm not in SGN, I just played it based on Chart. Although, If they do have a naked short problem as they believe, then there may be a rush to cover naked shorts before the R/S on the 19th. I'll have to look harder at F/A, although I think it is usually wiser to avoid R/S plays unless you really know what you are doing. Nice spot Scovillez.
NY Giants please.
Thanks Tina, now if it could only continue through the end of the week.
HEPI, could be a nice pincher setting up.
Hi miss Tina, I wanted NEXM But I was a little slow. LOL sidesh0wb0b was just too fast. So I will take SGN this week.
Cool site, I'll go with Philadelphia Eagles this week.
QPCI
Hey great site, I see I need to submit early next time, all my favorites were already taken.
I'll try QPCI though.
Thanks joanneg for your concern. We are fine here. Just now getting some outter bands from Gustav showing up in the form of a northern breeze.
Hi Kutie, looks like we will dodge the bullet here in the Houston area, this time. May pass to the north (glassy's area) way after land fall. It should be deminished to a major rain maker by then though, with greatly deminished wind. Looks as though our neighbors in La will get the brunt of the storm. Lets all keep them in our prayers.
I agree, never believe the story of Pink sheet and BB stocks. That doesn't mean that some are not legit, just most are not! You still didn't say what was special about JYTO that attracted you. The reason I ask is that you obviously are not a newbe yet you have only been a member of ihub a couple of weeks and only post on this board. Also your post are mostly negetive in nature.
Way to Go!
Sunrise view from my patio, hot cup of Java, great family & friends....priceless!
