OT: Irish Joke
John O'Reilly hoisted his beer and said,
"Here's to spending the rest of me life, between the legs of me wife!" That won him the top prize at the pub for the best toast of the night!
He went home and told his wife, Mary, "I won the prize for the best toast of the night." She said, "Aye, did ye now. And what was your toast?"
John said, "Here's to spending the rest of me life, sitting in church beside me wife." "Oh, that is very nice indeed, John!" Mary said.
The next day, Mary ran into one of John's drinking buddies on the street corner. The man chuckled leeringly and said, "John won the prize the other night at the pub with a toast about you, Mary."
She said, "Aye, he told me, and I was a bit surprised meself. You know, he's only been there twice in the last four years. Once he fell asleep, and the other time I had to pull him by the ears to make him come...
OT:THE MIRACLE OF TOILET PAPER
Fresh from my shower, I stand in front of the mirror complaining to my husband that my breasts are too small. Instead of characteristically telling me it's not so, he uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion. "If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of toilet paper and rub it between them for a few seconds"
Willing to try anything, I fetch a piece of toilet paper and stand in front of the mirror, rubbing it between my breasts.
"How long will this take?" I asked. "They will grow larger over a period of years," my husband replies. I stopped. "Do you really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my
breasts every day will make my breasts larger over the years?"
Without missing a beat he says "Worked for your butt, didn't it?"
He's still alive, and with a great deal of therapy, he may even walk again although he will probably continue to take his meals through a straw.
Stupid, stupid man!!!
Sirius, I too use Scottrade Level2 would you please post the reply you get back on this? I know you only have 1 more post left so you could include it in that if you would.
Thanks a Million,
Chaoss
Sirius you missed one thing GLL bought a Jeep Hemi and not the Jag. Maybe now she can have the Jeep to haul her Kart trailer to the track on weekends and a Jag for everyday. Why not think bigger GLL and get the Brittish Austin Martin Vanquish instead???
That's the last time I will post any food for thought. Your response totally missed the mark. It's not the ethernet think again...
Did anyone pick out the words POS(Point of Sale) in this and the previous announcement?? Evidently TKO has found a way to tie financial transactions to its many other functions. This opens up business to Banks(ATM's), Credit Card Companies, retailers, it just goes on and on. Any thoughts anyone???
Louie all that East Coast Goreonic flatulence must be the cause of this global warming that seems to be the cause of all this. Thank brother El Nino too...
Sirius and other winter weather lovers, a diary posted from someone new to Colorado:
WINTER IN COLORADO
Dear Diary:
AUG. 1
Moved to our new home in Denver. It is so beautiful
here. The city is so picturesque. Can hardly wait to see it
covered with snow. I LOVE IT HERE
OCT. 14
Denver is the most beautiful place on earth. The leaves
are turning all different colors. I love the shades of red and
orange. Went for a ride through the hills and saw some deer. They are
so
graceful. Certainly they are the most peaceful animals on earth. This
must be paradise. I LOVE IT HERE.
NOV. 11
Deer season will open soon. I can not imagine anyone
wanting to kill such an elegant creature. The very symbol
of peace and tranquility. Hope it will snow soon. I LOVE IT
HERE.
DEC. 2
It snowed last night. Woke up to find everything blanketed
in white. It looked like a postcard. Went outside and cleaned
snow off the steps and shoveled the drive way. We had
a snowball fight today (I won). When the snowplow came by
we had to shovel the driveway again. What a beautiful place.
Mother Nature in perfect harmony. I LOVE IT HERE.
DEC. 12
More snow last night. I love it. The snowplow did his trick
again that rascal. A winter wonderland. Wonder where all those
snowplows are? I LOVE IT HERE.
DEC. 19
Snowed again last night. Couldn't get out of my parking spot to
get to work this time. I'm exhausted from shoveling.
Damn Snowplow!
DEC. 22
More of that white sh*t fell last night. I've got blisters on my
hands from shoveling. I think the snowplow hides around
the corner and waits until I'm done shoveling. That a$$hole!!!
DEC. 25
"White Christmas" my busted a$$. More snow. If I ever get
my hands on that son-of-a-bitch who drives that snowplow,
I swear I will castrate the dumb bastard. Don't know why
they don't use more salt on this freaking ice!
DEC. 28
More of the same sh*t last night . Been inside since Christmas
day except for when "Snowplow Harry" comes by. Can't go
anywhere. The car is buried in a mountain of white sh*t.
The weatherman says expect another 10 inches of this sh*t
tonight. Do you know how many shovels full of snow 10
inches is?
JAN. 1
Happy freaking New Year My A$$!!. The weatherman was
wrong (AGAIN). We got 34 inches of snow this time. At this
rate it won't melt until the 4th of July. The snowplow got
stuck down the road and sh*t for brains had the balls to
come to the door and ask to borrow my shovel. I told him
I broke 6 shovels already, shoveling out the sh*t he plowed
into my parking spot. I broke the 7th shovel over his head.
JAN. 4
Finally got out of the house today. Went to the store to get
food and on the way back a deer ran out in front of the car
and I hit the damn deer. Did about $3,000.00 damage to the
car. Wish the hunters would have killed them all last November.
MAY 3
Took the car to the garage in town today. Would you believe
the body is rotting away from all the Crap they keep dumping
All over the roads. It really looks like a piece of sh*t.
MAY 10
Moved to Florida today. I can not imagine why anyone in
their right mind would want to live in the God forsaken State
of Colorado.
No it was on my Scottrader T&S board it has 5 different colors meaning different things. Green=buy, red=sell, yellow=buy at price different than ask (while price is changing), blue=sell at price different than bid, and light-orange(T)=trade after close(sometimes transactions take time to clear) but some of these are for very large amounts of shares that look suspiciously like they happened after the close. Some days there are very large transactions that appear in yellow that happened before market open maybe unfinished from previous days order. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the info and I too am excited about the future of TKO just suspicious of managment practices.
Correction:
Price Size Exch Time
3.22 100 NDD 16:08:07
3.17 11500 AMX 16:01:33
3.17 7900 AMX 16:01:33
3.17 300 AMX 15:59:50
3.15 300 NDD 15:59:50
That means the actual close was $3.17 right? The 3.22 trade was after close it had a(T) after it. What does that mean??
Thats exactly what my Scottrader shows. Again sorry for the late post my comments don't matter anyway.
14K means thousand. M is roman and K is metric for 1,000 I believe from my gradeschool math.
19 thousand at 3.22 that's funny because my Scottrader T&S shows it as 100 shares. Sorry I'm catching up on posts late.
OT: Sirius and Gipper** We don't mind being called gimps in fact alot prefer it especially over Handicapped. What does that mean? I don't have caps on my hands well maybe I do tonight it's -10 below zero right now and I have these cute gloves that look like my cap!! HAHAHAHA!!!
GLL** India New Deli time is 10.5 hours ahead of New York City, New York. Say if it was midnight Thursday in New York City it would be 10:30 am Friday in New Deli WOW!!!
OT: BUYING STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!
If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.
With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00.
With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.
If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left
But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.
Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It's called the 401-Keg Plan.
This is just my current opinion not a bash**
I already stated IMO that TKO has the appearance of a company that has already been sold for a number of reasons (see my earlier post to Sirius). As for statements this week I will choose the middle one they will be moving forward with a deal already agreed to with the guidance already built into the stock price. Kind of like what happened with the last 2 announcements EDS and the Department of Commerce in the Patent and Trademark offices. There are a couple of choices for announcements already baked into the TKO cake like TrendsWest (hospitality), Maybe a new school district or University (Education), A new government contract another ship (Government), or a new energy management contract (Energy Management). One area bothers me is that it looks like they dropped the ball completely on MDU's. It must have finally dawned on them there was some serious competition there like Comcast, Verizion, CISCO, Level3, Motorola, AT&T (looking good lately), and a host of others. This was all laid out nicely in RP's and PM's "Letter To Shareholders on December 4, 2006". They also said it would happen in the new year, RP and PM Covered Their Respective Asses nicely thank you. It is a great read now with the passage of time. Go back and check it out.
It doesn't look as if RP cares about the Shareholders making lots of money thus the quick sale instead of releasing any real guidance on anything. I don't make predictions but if this choice plays out maybe a loss by weeks end and maybe a sale before end of 1st Quarter. TKO just could not break $3.00 today...
Sirius**Would you care to share those company names. I think solar energy is going to be one of the next best things!! In Colorado where we get so much sunshine solar is very popular. There are even city governments and some state agencies looking into developing this as a primary energy source. I believe that even Walmart is going to install solar on store roofs. They watch every damned penny which is good as a stockholder and bad as an employee. They do this to remain on top, very important to them...
Sirius** I was catching up with my IHUB post reading and I have another suggestion for your research. Check out non Silicon based solar cells. I don't know any companies involved but have been hearing about this along with non silicon based computer chips since there is s severe silicon shortage worldwide. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense because I always thought SI was a plentiful element in the mineral world...sand...
Sirius** I don't need the address it's right here Thanks!!
OT** Thank El Nino for the wierd weather. I moved to an apartment several years ago. I got real tired of paying people to do everything to maintain a house, mow the grass, shovel the snow, painting, and everything else that goes with owning or just living in a house. My brother moved to Florida a few years ago. That is probably is where I should live but every time I come home from a visit I am soooo glad to be back in Colorado. You cannot beat the weather here, 360 days of sunshine every year, and no humidity!!! I like Florida it is very acessable everywhere because more than 1/2 the population is elderly lots of walkers and those scooters. I am going to have to make a decision pretty soon about electric mobility my shoulders are giving out from abuse in my younger years and constant use pushing, pushing, pushing. HA HA at least I have a sense of humor about things. Florida is looking better now my body doesn't hurt all the time (arthritus from lots of abuse when I was younger) the heat is better than the cold for that. I just cannot stand the humidity. I lived in southern Texas for a couple of years, Corpus Christi, but I loathed the heat and humidity everyday 99 degrees and 99% humidity. I keep returning here I love my Rocky Mountains!!!
I Agree...
Sirius**What issue of Business Week was that or can you post the list?? I too support your concerns about environemtal or social responsibility. My investment concerns are more selfish though I need to make money, as much as possible. You can always donate some of your profits or dividends to environmental charities as I do. It helps my conscience...
IMO it seems as if some people on this board are probably over invested in TKO. Judging from the number of gripes about PPS. I too over estimated the length of time it would take. This is the reason I have been questioning, NOT BASHING, management cababilities. IMO TKO is looking like a company that has been sold already (maybe to GE) from the problems working out all of the legal issues to be resolved before this big announcement. You won't see any heavy insider buying as some have noted, because that would be illegal (insider trading) I believe. One thing bothers me though there has not been any attempt to raise the share price (maybe that's illegal too). I really wish RP had thought more of the shareholders since that is his #1 priority as a CEO. We shall see soon...
OT Sirius**: Round 5 is here and part 1 (Saturday) was a dud but, part 2 is a real doozie. Looks like maybe another foot of snow with high winds and colder temperatures. This ought to make an interesting addition to my Christmas tree sculpture a work still in progress. Parts of I-70 and I-25 are closed with delays at DIA. It is not public knowledge but I am in a wheelchair and snow + ice = a real obsticle. It is basically impassable to my car now. I have had to be real creative in my choice of parking spots. I was lucky enough to go to the grocery store yesterday and stock up. All I want is my Christmas package from Florida via UPS (last I heard they were behind 1,000,000 package deliveries)full of fresh fruit. It is probably nice and moldy now and I will refuse delivery if it ever gets here. I am so glad I paid with a credit card. Chicago just scored again and it just started snowing there. I believe it is headed your way north this time...
Sirius***You probably know through your excellent DD not to sell MO before they split the divisions, Kraft, Overseas Tobacco, and Domestic Tobacco. This is coming soon after a few legal manuvers, and parts of it might be keepers...
OT: Round 5 coming this weekend it doesn't look as serious as rounds 1 thru 4, but it is coming who knows what happens as it crosses the Rocky Mtns. Round 4 was interesting not much snow but got a nice dose of arctic temperatures -20 below zero. It froze all the snow that had melted a little bit into huge ice sculptures (I will call them). Now all of the streets that were impassable anyway into ice holes and ruts. Water pipes are bursting everywhere(and we are prepared for this kind of weather)creating huge frozen ice fountains. Some streets have a nice 4" coating of frozen water over the ruts. A 24" gas main burst and it even froze, very spooky what happens when it thaws?? The trash trucks can't get down the alleys to dump the trash in downtown Denver(for 3 weeks now) a huge frozen pile of stinky garbage in every alley. My trash hasn't been dumped in 4 weeks so I pit the Christmas tree on top and used the turkey carcass as an angel topper. Hoping for a thaw***
Sirius*** this is a late reply but the scenarios I talked about were posted on this board not the CISCO board. I was responding to a smart comment Isiah made suggesting he go back and read the comments for himself and he replied that he would pay someone to do it for him after he got rich on TKO stock. That is precisely the kind of comments I grew very tired of and stopped posting. I have been following your posts lately and it seems that you too have even developed a healthy scepticism for TKO managements actions like I have. It is good to be sceptical on highly speculative stocks like TKO. I love the technology but loathe the management. I have questioned their qualifications and ability to lead TKO through such a large roll-out as this is. They are not the only ones doing business in this sector and face some fierce competition from BIG companies like CISCO, Verizon, Comcast, Motorola and many others. Keep up the good work for all of us. I have stopped posting on this board for a while because I got very tired of getting attacked for trying to promote healthy discussion on some serious challenges that this company faces...
Good luck,
Chaos
I tried to pose this question a couple of months ago and got shot down. Small Minds...can't see the big picture...
Sirius by those 4's do you mean the $4.00 pps projection by some analysts??
OT: I have another blizzard warning for those east of the Rocky Mountains. Look out for bad weather over the weekend maybe a New Years present. I have another foot of snow on top of 2 feet last week. I just got my car dug out and made a mad dash for the grocery store. They were partially stocked up after they were picked clean during and after the last blizzard. There was no milk, bread, and no Toilet Paper. Good thing I still have all of those Christmas catalogues that I despise. Round 2 is expected this evening into Sunday. Denver International Airport is canceling flights again inconveniencing those very same people who are trying to return home from their Christmas nightmare here. My mail still hasn't caught up I am waiting on Christmas cards that I know were sent to me. UPS is behind with 1,000,000 Christmas packages still undelivered. I am still waiting on mine sent from Florida on Saturday December 23rd. Well at least the high winds have not started yet and DIA is still partially open. Happy New Years!!!
OT: I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...Not That Damn White!!!
OT: Those of you east of Colorado be ready for a nice Holiday present from El Nino. We are having a wonderful blizzard that came from the northwest. They are calling for 2 to 3 feet of snow, 4 to 6 feet in the mountains, and 50mph winds. It will last 2 days here and then head east. All the airports are closed including Denver International snarriling Holiday traffic. I-70 is closed east of Denver to the Kansas border, and west has chain restrictions with high mountain passes closed. All the schools are closed for the next 2 days which never ever happens here. Happy Holiday Traveling!!!
Sirius Thanks my concerns exactly. Well said!!!
Thanks Sirius I promote tolerance, respect and acceptance as a multi-disabled person not PC so that didn't occur to me. I understand and appreciate your thoughts on religion. The joke did not appear to criticize any religious values to me.
Your comments on the body english being displayed by the speakers tells all. It takes a very well trained person to purposefully change or alter body english. I went through a very intensive training program on body english. It taught me how to recognize certain things a person displays when interviewing you, and what not to show in an interview or conference. It always gives you away.
Also thanks for your support on the anger being displayed on this board. I thought we were above that here. My spirits were very low after several displays of anger towards me, even called "Dr. Doom of TKO", for expressing well founded concerns about management and direction of this stock. I even introduced posts from the Yahoo board to support my concerns.
I was taught growing up that if you don't have anything nice to say to someone it's best to keep your silence, rather than hurting their feelings. Just my thoughts...
Lug Head Why all the venom?? I thought we were not to slam people on this board. I guess some people are allowed to. My post was about TKO and the shareholder meeting.
Kind of quiet HUH?? A reputable post on Yahoo said there were only 12 people at the meeting. Any truth to that??
Thanks Christine I took a lot of heat for predicting the exact same thing last week. At least you and Walt have a sense of humor about things...
Simon Says Why so much venom??
