CEOs of companies are bound by SEC regulations on how they disclose information that could effect the price of the shares with a focus on ensuring that the distribution of that information is in a standard and fair way for all market participants. You can't have a CEO tweeting about earnings ahead of an earnings call. Is the conservator bound to this same duty? There should really be a law that governs the frequency, forum, and content of disclosing information on companies in conservatorship when said companies are still publicly traded. In summary, Calabria as the conservator should have legal guidelines for what he can disclose about the future of Fannie and Freddie. Otherwise, he's just causing this share price to jerk around.

Did you see the huge short squeeze at 3:15pm eastern on the charts? 1.2 million shares in under 60 seconds. This was 3x higher than any other 1 minute volume interval over the entire trading day today. It represented 10% of the entire day's 12 million volume in that 60 second period. That was a classic short squeeze where they all covered with buy orders to exit loss. I think the shorts are starting to realize this is now a long play. Have a great weekend everyone!

Rep. Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, nearly collapsed while attending a Manhattan press conference with Mayor Bill de Blasio Friday.

Rep. Nadler has been investigating Trump. If he suffers a stroke and is unable to perform his duty, this may hamper his ability to continue the Dems political onslaught against the Trump administration through leveraging the Judiciary Committee powers.

I called the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals Clerk's Office @ (504) 310-7700 and spoke with a really friendly staff. It helps to have attorney friends. Opinions are released up to a year out from date of orals but typically are within 6 months after the date of the orals when the case is heard en banc. Expectation for staff is to have opinion ready as early as next Wednesday for judges to do final review and then publish by June 6th. Latest would be a final redline review which could push it out to July 17th at latest but looking to avoid a later date to maintain their procedural calendars for the ongoing 3 judge panel reviews. There is other court business that also has to be done so this is going to be finalized. Summary is that it is earliest would be next Thursday/Friday and latest would be July 17th.

Got tired of watching this all the time. I set my stop losses down about 50% and am going to check back in October and do my best not to think about this until I get my profit alerts. Really hoping those in government do the right thing for both the housing market and us shareholders. Been a rough past few months and could use a break. Here is some perspective. Microsoft ( MSFT) trades on NASDAQ at $126.90/share. Last year it had $110 billion in revenue and $16.5 billion in net income. It has 7.8 billion shares outstanding with a market cap of $972 billion. Fannie Mae + Freddie Mac last year had $43 billion in combined revenue and $25.1 billion in net income. FMCC has 650 million shares outstanding and FNMA has 1.5 billion. Combined their market cap is around $28 billion. If the warrants were exercised and preferred shares converted to commons and the common shares were diluted to about 9 billion shares and the price per share dropped from $3.00 to $0.60, let me ask you this: If you were an investment bank and saw a company properly released from conservatorship, properly regulated, and on sound financial footing with the revenue and margins of Fannie and Freddie and trading for under a $1, would that be a buy opportunity or not? This stock should be trading at over $100 per share. If you're hoping for at least $10 a share, that is beyond conservatively reasonable in my opinion.

Looks like the young investors are starting to learn about Fannie Mae.
