JPGetty, thanks for your thoughtful reply. I hope you're right. I'm in long here as well, mostly because I can't figure out how to get out with my skin, LOL! Unfortuneatly, I can't seem to dig up anything helpful for the board, not even a patent application, so I'll just lurk here and cheer the rest of you on. Take care.
JPGetty, I got a question for you. If the em-100 process could make huge money for big oil companies in the oil sands regions of Canada, why is it possible to buy the entire float of KSWJ for a couple of hundred grand? Why would a company give up so much future for chump change? Doesn't make sense to me, what are your thoughts?
Also, last winter a poster on the CWPC board said that they contacted both Suncor and Canwest Pete about KSWJ and the em-100 process and the companies said that they had never heard of either. This is just hearsay, of course, but the thought of KSWJ not contacting the companies with the largest probable reserves in the oil sands area of Canada would seem remiss.
Hope this can happen for us all, but I doubt it.
Rocketred, that's like asking somebody to go ahead and prove there is no Easter bunny or Santa Claus. Come on guy! LOL
Bigworld, I don't think we are out of the game. Our management has shown poor business sense for sure, but Aldevron would not be persuing synDNA if it weren't the real thing. FDA approvals for vaccines may be a few years off for use here in the USA, but Aldevron has many customers that use DNA. Some of these customers may have needs in the field of agriculture or may involve other countries that are able to get their own version of our FDA on a fast track. Even if CYGX can only produce 10 grams of synDNA per day at an introductory rate of $25K to $50K per gram, it would go a long way toward funding their own expansion.
Expansion doesn't have to be in the form of a new plant but in the addition of new machines, which if memory serves, can be built in 4 to 6 weeks. The longer range plans are what we want to grow the company in a big way.
I do not think that debt financing can be obtained here unless they get involved with a venture capital company or big pharma, which would act in the same way as a venture capital backer, and it would all be at our expense. Either party would create a debt instrument or superior stock position to ours, which would have to be serviced or the lender would be able to improve their ownship and control position at our expense. An angel or REIT might be found to build their new facility at a favorable lease rate and perhaps give an option for the company to buy down the road. I hate to say it, but it is our best interests (IMHO) to have them bumble along with their PPOs (I have not been invited to participate by the way and wouldn't until I see more).
If this science works and sells, however, it is time to bring in real business types. Venture cap and big pharma (joint venture) would do that but they wouldn't be thinking about us. Been around this arena for a long time. By the way, I appreciate your very fine and sincere posts, take care.
Houndish, my rumor mill, which has not been highly reliable but has come up with some choice bits of info in the past, says that CYGX has the capacity to make 10 grams of synDNA a day at present without a new facility. Should this be true a substantial order could go a long way toward paying for the company's expansion, even at a low price per gram say in the $25K to $50K range. My guys also said that news of a substantial order was to come out about three weeks ago, and yet here we have no news in addition to Aldevron's orders, so I am taking some of their rumors as wishful thinking. My gut feel is that the need for vaccines in the field of agriculture are probably the best bet for a large order in the near term. By the way-good recap!
Nc4s, My folks threw out all of my old comics when I didn't respond to their offer to come and get them. I think that they were worth more than my shares of this stock are at present. LOL You say you are trying to make a couple of hundred "what" per month by trading 5K shares of this stock? This stock has not been helpful for the TA bunch as their well-meaning predictions have been way off target. The company has been totally unhelpful to the stockholders recently, so how do you do it? Are you saying that you make a couple of hundred dollars a month (not busting here) or a couple of hundred thousand? If the latter, you are my new hero. Take care.
Nc4s, I can't recall that line but it's been quite a few years since I saw the movie. I will never forget the scene that I mentioned in the earlier post, wow, powerful. Take care.
Nearlynapping, I don't know any insiders, just passing along hearsay which turned out to be baloney anyways. LOL
"What we have here is a failure to communicate" said the prison warden to the inmates while pointing to Paul Newman (in cool hand Luke) as he crawled along the ground after having been pummeled half to death. Any other fellow stockholders here feel like Luke in a business sense with this stock?
I was told by fellow stockholders who were getting in on the last PPO that good news was coming, about 3 weeks ago, and no, not the news that you read, but much better. I have a fear that these guys do not know how to run a business. Great doctors and scientists they may be, but something is not right. Even if we have the goods, we need people in the company who can handle talking to highly skilled clients as well as financial people who can take this to the next level. To bring in venture capital now would be a bigger dilution threat than we have with the random PPO's, but we would have top guys making things happen and putting peoples' feet to the fire.
I don't know what to do. When knowledgable guys like Bigworld, who actually has a feel for the science, begins to show despair it says something. I'm in for the next bit of action. GLTA
Tryoty, is it possible that Nigeria and STP could find that the votes of particular representatives of the JDZ may have been manipulated improperly and have the group vote to rescind ERHE's rights and put those rights out to bid to other investors? It may not require a renegotiation of the other rights but a new auction of the rights to which ERHE was entitled. Sorry to be a wet blanket but looking at the SP makes me feel a little on the outside.
Jimmy Joe, you are far from a knuckle dragging moron, I was merely emphasing how important it is to pay close attention to a stock like this, as opposed to just trusting management to "do the best for the troops" so to speak, and I do not equate CYGX to Enron but use the example of Enron to point out that the company is to be run for the benefit of the stockholders, not the management, although they may wear both hats.
I have invested in three biotech deals, two with great success but with one failure. I am not doctor bashing, but I would like to see some business types lead this company to the growth stage when it comes and have our brilliant doctors focus on what they do best. Quick story: I just sold a large parcel of land to a hospital that has been desparate to expand but can't seem to get their act together. Formerly run by doctors, they went on to hire a business type to be CEO, a new CFO, and got a number of successful area business types to run the BOD. They then got the financing they needed and all other factors remained the same. It is important to have the right people in the right places.
I am sure that you have heard the phrase "the operation was a success but the patient died". My fear is that this company could do that in a business sense. I have heard, however, that some good news may come that will make the difference in our opinions moot.
I have enjoyed reading your posts today and think that I have misjudged you. You respond to posts with a cool head and a very civil manner, unlike my post of yesterday. I think I was just angered by you calling people who critisized the company as whiners-endlessly. Take care and I apologize for any name calling.
Stockound, just for the record, I had no axe to grind with Calgary and all my posts to her have been civil and non-confrontational, though hers to me have been quite curt. I got an extremely insulting message in my mailbox last night basically inviting me and another poster here (who shall go unnamed) to never post again. It was from Calgary or someone posing as her, if that is possible. It was later deleted. I posted an insulting message back to her, which I am sure you read. I retrospect I wish I had sent it to her mailbox rather than posting it publicly, as this scene would probably have been avoided.
Further, I don't want her to quit the board either and I hope she comes back. If the post wasn't from her, you saw my apology. I own plenty of shares and hope this all works out for us. Why Janice is here she won't say, maybe she is writing a book about these types of stocks. Why Rocket is gone I have no idea. Take care.
Calgary, if you didn't send me a private post then someone else did in your name, in which case you have my apology.
Fordgt, I want to be proven wrong! Show me the way dude! I don't want to be critisized by pushy idiots with no proof of anything, i.e. Calgary.
Fordgt, I'm in guy, cause I can't figure out to get out. LOL! Take care.
Why doesn't oilphant just come out and tell us what is going on? It is prepostrous to think he is guarding himself from discovery of sharing insider info! Tell it like it is! Does any one else feel like they are getting diddled here? GEEZ
Calgary, you don't have to send me private messages, just put them out here on the board. Someone as naive and inexperienced as you can't posibly insult me. You post crapola and get the hopes up for others here with no proof of anything. I think you probably have the secretarial skills necessary to do some DD but you have absolutely no investment background at all. I was being nice to you because you were trying to be a positive "rainbow warrior" for this deal. You are mean spirited and have nothing to show your fellow investors that is helpful. Janice does know what's up, you don't. Please don't post so much as you almost never have anything of worth to say!
Sanoman, good post! JJ is a pious and judgemental type who never posts an opinion of value but moves around the board like a virus judging others for caring enough to post their opinions. This company has great prospects but does not have the best business managers, which many posters here agree on. To criticize the company is not necessarily bashing. To say that you don't have the right to criticize the company's communications unless you went to the SHM is propostrous (JJ's posts). Public companies are not run for the benefit of management but for the shareholders, ask Ken Lay and Jeff Skillings. The management of CYGX is not doing us a favor to report progress, it is owed to us. Only a knuckle-dragging moron sits back and lets an investment like this run its course without paying attention. I hope we win big by the way, even school-marmsey JJ. Take care.
JPGetty, If there are people who were brought on by the company to pump this stock, they were probably paid in restricted stock. The company went belly-up before they had a chance to cash out, so they may have spent some time creating the illusion that the company really exists. You can trade the shares of defunct companies for years after they fold if you choose. The PR could be fake and untracable, no problem. The fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to contact the company or get a response from the JV says quite a bit. You can buy the whole estimated float of this stock for $500,000. Why wouldn't a new company just steal the unpatented science and go on from there. Russia? Hmmmm? Sorry to be such a wet blanket. I love the rah rah guys here now though. I wonder where they get their knowledge from. All my DD comes up with zip. Take care.
Fordgt, what is your prediction for this stock. It hasn't moved at all. It is worth the same 3 hundredths of a penny for a month. The company doesn't care. Please advise. TIA
Calgarylady, thank you very much! I really am cheering us on here, by the way. But Janice, well she's one of the most compelling wet blankets I've run into. Anyway, please stay on the case and GLTA
Bigworld, Great post, I think that you are right on all the issues. Aldevron has created a rapport with many companies that use DNA and can serve as a distributor or referral agent for CYGX which is an excellent marketing strategy. I agree that it isn't as important to show immediate revenue at this stage as it is to have third party pharma bless the product and show the need for it as well as define the market for it. That will create the credibility in our company that investors are looking for and send the stock to where it belongs. There's a rumor of more news soon that may put things on a faster track. Keep your fingers crossed. Take care.
Texas Tom, I checked the site put couldn't find any news about KSWJ. What did they say? TIA
Hetty, these guys have done such a poor job of communication if they released a PR at this point I don't think anybody would notice. Has anybody on the board contacted the company recently about progress? If you want a laugh, check barchart.com and click on opinion. I have never seen that sell rating before. Do these guys even care?
Excuse, Dennis Koslovski, but might add Andy Fastow and Jeff Skilling.
JPGetty, perhaps they are tired of investors, period. The fact that public companies are run on behalf of the stockholders may be counter to their stategy. Ken Lay and Andy Koslovski learned that stockholders have some rights the hard way. LOL Seriously, I was hoping for some luck here but there is no sign of anything coming. If they had the real science, why would they share it with us? Just start a new entity, a new patent application and off they go. What is the total cap on this company, a couple of hundred grand tops? I hope I am wrong. GLTY
Has anyone had a reply from the company? Has anyone been able to discover a way to tell if the company exists other than that first PR? TIA
Holycow, GE does provide financial assistance for proven tech. Others that do are Wyeth and Dupont. However, they would be acting as venture capitalist do in that they would ask for results by certain projected dates, and, if the company's projections are well off target, would take more control of the deal, i.e. mores shares, more board members. They might also create a debt instrument which would have to be serviced before stockholders get anything, as a venture capitalist would do. These guys don't want that.
IMHO What this company needs is to be run by a business person or persons. Our Doctors may be brilliant, but they aren't doing this right. They need help in packaging a business plan that would encourage a donor to make a grant. Their reluctance to have a big pharma partner or a venture capital firm back them leaves them only PPOs to keep going. Not to insult Bigworlds banker friend, but this company doesn't qualify for debt financing of any sort: no LOC which is based on cash flow from operations, no conventional mortgage without cashflow unless guaranteed by an "angel", no SBA loans under any program (although an SBIC might help for very favorable ownership position). They are too small for an investment banking firm which would also insist on permits being in place and a clearly defined market.
This company doesn't want to be bossed around or have demands made on it by venture capital or big pharma. I want it to work like the rest of us, but they need to act like business people. Did you read the company's report on the SHM on its website? Exciting huh? Without news from our fellow posters we would essentially no news on the meeting.
On a positive note, I have been told there is some positive news coming soon. Can't say what because I promised I wouldn't (and I don't want Houndish all over me LOL). Take care.
Boy these guys have a lot to be proud of, huh? No news and a PR firm that tells them not to make public statements unless there is real progress. Doesn't that kind of say it all? No PR = no progress. Big hype at the beginning of the year about showing the product to the Gov't and industry with hopes of writing orders at the show, then zip. Does anyone have a contact at the company that will give an explanation as to what is going on? If these guys run out of dough, what next? A PPO for a nickel?
richkan, please give us your opinion about how ERHE should present themselves on a "road show". I would love to know about the clients that you would encourage to invest here and why. You sound very knowledgable about these sort of investments.
Jdubs, no way investment bankers on this play. This is strictly ppo land or venture capital, and my venture capital friends have said they wouldn't touch it. Cwpc (Can West Pete) was a crap stock like this until they drilled a good well in the oil sands area of Sask., Canada. Went from $.25 to $1.00 on spec on the well and then, when they hit good ratio for oil in the bitumen sands, they went to four then eight dollars a share, now about $7. Investment firms started buying in at about $5 when there was a promise of going on a major exchange. This deal? There is no investment banking firm on the planet that would touch this. The news from WB is a kiss off, the guy is a toady! IMHO
Vacation schedules for all four employees?! Well then it sounds reasonable to me to delay any news about our publicly traded investment until the fall, when the employees have their tans and the temperature in texas is more conducive to going to work. After all this glop, you have to be kidding! They are GOING to prepare a business plan! I have been lucky the last couple of years, but this takes the cake, evens things out, wow! What a joke. Fighting the bigs in oil but lets take a few months off. Do you know how many backrubs I owe my wife for this investment? I do love her, 34 years, no problem. Take care
Calgarylady, sadly I didn't do my usual DD on this and will probably get what I deserve. I hope this works out for us but I doubt it will. Even if there are no PRs, why can't we contact the company? What if I was a big oil company that wanted to buy their system how could I contact them?
Calgarylady, public companies are supposed to operate for the benefit of the stockholders, not management. Management gets paid based on the job they do on behalf of the stockholders (in theory). Stockholders have every right to question managements stewardship of their investment money, ask Ken Lay and Dennis Koslovski. The company is putting out no PRs except the one stating that they are alive. No one has been able to contact the company. And your advice is to stop compaining or sell? Aren't you being a little rough on the victims here lady?
anj23, no debate, no bad feelings, we said our stuff. I was hoping a litle facetious humor might help. Wrong I guess, take care.
amj23, you have alluded in previous posts that you think that the opinion of those that have been on this board the longest may have some sort of insight that allows them to see more clearly the true value of ERHE. Please share with us all your wisdom of the ages. As for me, well I'm a new poster and have few facts to work with as our company tells us nothing, just as you tell us nothing. You float around this board like a virus, judging posters and commenting as you see fit. Get a life! I occasionally post opinions that I feel are humorous and will apologize if I offend or upset anyone. I think I have been a shareholder about six months but feel like I have owned this stock for a thousand years, LOL. Take care!
Rusty car, This stock may be worth about a penny very soon. That PR advice is crap. With all the hype last Nov. and the failed follow-up, the science may be bad here. The total cap. is so low that it may behoove them to go private. Nothing is happening and the longs will begin to dump. This company has poor management. Pathetic!
amj23, you need to get a sense of humor as opposed to bouncing around the board, greeting people as if you are some sort of in-crowd dude, never posting any original thoughts, but rather judging others. Please tell us why this SP has tanked, which it has.
Tryoty, the only thing that is keeping me in this stock is the number of bashers here and on RB. The rule of thumb that they never bash a bad stock is my only hope here LOL! The CEO is out of town and unavailable, the gal that answers the phone at Company HQ is a temp, the largest stocholder is a Nigerian chief (warlord?), CVX says their find may not be of commercial value, the Chinese are our partners in our blocks (hello?), zip news since March except for the appointment of 2 Nigerian accountants to the BOD, I mean you can't make this stuff up! LOL! Wonder why the stock is down? I wouldn't sell this for the world, it's so horrible that something good has to happen. Take care.
nc4s, it should show below just below the lower blue line on the right.
