It’s gonna be a wash this year unfortunately. Nothing in the horizon.
Need a catalyst to pop. Maybe a partnership with USA big cell phone companies can work
Amc the last 4 years prior to pandemic.
January 6, 2020 6.52
January 14, 2019 14.46
January 1, 2018 14.10
January 2017 - 33.8 pps
100+ loss every month from amc. Pre pandemic attendance was there but yet pps still dropped downtrend 6s-7s pre pandemic.
There’s no way to understand human nature. We can believe a lot of people are cabin fever... or we can believe people will still be afraid of post pandemic and rather use streaming to watch movies. I’m not saying theaters will be obsolete like blockbuster but it will take a longer time than one think. Wasn’t it just a year ago this was suppose to only last two weeks? It is predicted it won’t be normal till 2022 and 2023. Amc losing 100+ mil every month now. We still have half the people in US that does not believe in covid and not wear a mask... can’t one argue human nature says one should wear a mask.
The sustainable part is about if it is sustainable to see an increase in revenue hence increase in pps. LOL I simply am not against them. I even say they have to fend against competition and they need to reinvent themselves to find a way why they went down pps 6s prior to pandemic effect. You are just assuming this will boom again like you because of cabin fever... I’m saying there are plenty of competition, pandemic effect and after effect. Movie theater has yet to even open in nyc.
Lol I think you forgot the most important thing if it is sustainable. Yes if people flock into movies to see a movie after 6-8 months from now after pandemic 2022 because they are cabin fever- will that sustain to the point to bring pps higher? Will that last a 3-4 months? Will that even out to the point where they are losing 100 million plus a month now? Lol competition is the biggest threat for these companies. Netflix, Disney plus and hbo. Amc needs to change their game and not rely or else competition will change everything.
Warner Bros is releasing every movie in theaters and on HBO Max concurrently for at least the next year. Disneyplus did with Mulan. It’s been years in the making with the rise of streaming services, the pandemic sped the process along. People will go to movies initially but will go back to streaming services that can give me what movie theaters give me. You are assuming everyone will line up to amc for movies ... that may happen but not 2021. People were lining up in 2018/2019 prior to pandemic. The rise in streaming services is that competition amc did not see coming.
People are still ordering from grub hub, amazon, Netflix, Disney plus. People were going before pandemic. Nyc is still dead now. You have half the USA that don’t even believe in the corona virus and then you have those that believes in it but refusing the vaccine. You’re assuming mass people going to the movies but you can also assume not that many will be lining up to the movies regularly because u have Netflix Disney plus and hbo ( monthly new movies ). This pandemic doesn’t look like it’s opening up anytime soon as long as people don’t believe in corona virus and those that do not take the vaccine.
Prior to pandemic, people were going to movies but pps was down trending to 6-7s for amc.
The point is even when theaters were open prior to pandemic it was down trending? Now there’s pandemic, post pandemic, competition of Disney plus, hbo releasing movies and Netflix.
Amc barely had a pulse prior to pandemic. It was down trading around 6-7$ prior to pandemic. Now every month it’s losing 100 mil a month without even new movies coming out...
They need a new CEO to give them a “direction” ...
Trickling down...
LMAO...
LOL ...
The article was from May 2020
Truth. But was attendance falling prior to pandemic? Is movie a live sport? Why was amc on life support prior to pandemic. Now that in 1-2 years when pandemic recovers, what makes it diff it’ll go up and not continue to fall or maintain the same? As long as big movie company doesn’t release any new movies, theater will be empty. Amc will continue to lose 100 mil a month to recover. Of course people will still go to a movie or two as this is a classic entertainment but what makes you people are not second guessing? China theater now is almost nonexistent - China is fully recovering from corona and-quarantine is non existent. Chinese are releasing new movies out every month. My point is amc better do something diff prior to pre pandemic or else I don’t see how this will go up more than pre pandemic
Yes because pandemic has cause a negative effect of people wanting to see new movies at the theater. Why was amc free falling prior to pandemic? Now after pandemic you don’t think people will second think of going to movies; now they realize the comfort of their home. They can watch it at home when hbo max is releasing all new movies every month. Suicide squad 2, Wonder Woman, Tom and Jerry, justice league, and even space jams
Ever heard people not getting it? Also heard of pandemic effect? The decrease of amc cause a rise in Disney plus hbo Netflix. Yes of course people will always see a movie or two for a blockbuster movie in 2-3 years when covid is completely gone but can you guarantee people will fully want to go back to movies when they realize how comfortable it is at home abs these streaming movies are coming out with movies like hbo. People on this bird are saying amc will go back to $20. I’m sorry but amc was on life support prior to pandemic ... what makes this any difference once pandemic fully recovers in 2-3 years?
Ever heard of covid? Amc losing 100 mill every month lol plus no new movies coming out
It came out earlier ... it wasn’t much.
This is not running lol.
Nok needs to figure out what direction to go into. No guidance in 2021.
Nothing you can do at this point. Others saying it may go to $20 and big money is doing disservice to others.
Everyone say wait for short report. Report came out. Now everyone saying don’t believe the report lol.
Before covid it was down trending ... this was before covid! Now they are bleeding 100 mil a month with minimal attendance
The “squeeze” lol. From $20 to 5$ - the squeeze
What mood? If it keeps going down? People gonna be happy?
Seeing it go down from $20 to $5 and lower soon
It will continue to decrease pps. People won’t have enough money to buy constantly.
Downward trend here. Amc losing 100 mil a month without much customers.
Near 15% today. Almost $5. Downward trend just like Pre pandemic. Wait a year out when amc fully opens and people are comfortable with theaters.
Amc is in survival mode. Not blast off mode.
Buy at $4.
Lol went from $20 to almost $5. Lol. Amc is open ... just nobody going during pandemic
Denial of that short squeeze! The pump is over. Stay away until amc able to fill seats up after pandemic. Prob 2022-2023
Lol. But it’ll happen. Unless it didn’t lose less than 10% today lol
12% red today
Prepandemic was trending down below $8s
