Unfortunately, that is the response to everything lately. Nobody cares, or at least it seems that way, about the growth of the company. They are really doing some remarkable things.
This is a sign of growth.
Are you charleyjeansurvivor on RB? He posted the same thing.
NY, I just alluded to the fact that they have to spend money to make money. I'm sure you, as a small business owner, found yourself in that position along the way.
I've thought for a while now that this company might just succeed despite the market valuations. If there product is high-quality, it will stick. Those short clips of the QTN worldcast are pretty good. The production value is just as good, if not better than some of the shows on tv now.
It is tough to be patient, however that is all I can do at this point. Really, I think they are doing a good job expanding their company. That is key for the next year.
I'm sure there was a cost, but I don't know for sure. This is good exposure because this competition goes state to state, culminating in a national final. Very good strategic move in my opinion. Gotta spend money to make money. Just like if I was trying to start up a business.

Looks like Q financed this film, and now owns its cable rights. Hope it gets widely ditributed.

Short interview with Nick Oram.

Ad about the QTN worldcast right above the ad for PrisonBreak. That show is very good if you haven't seen it. I'm talking about PrisonBreak.
lobo, if I attacked you I apologize too. You did what you thought was right. It just really irked me when I saw that after all of this you were going to hold and see what happens.
If I attacked you, I apologize. However, my own personal stance is currently contrarian and I get blasted occasionally myself. It is cyclical I suppose. Well I am out of here now. Nice chatting with you.
Goodnight. You have a good one.
Net I honestly don't have a clue as to how he will fund that purchase. I could give you a few theories, but they are only my thoughts and I don't want to start any rumors.
As far as the email is concerned, I will simply wait to see what the final draft says. I'll hope for the best and prepare for the worst. I will say this... if (and I stress that word "if") it was a clerical person that typed up the email, perhaps they didn't comprehend what the figures meant. An error in computation maybe? Even if he comes back and says something good, I'm afraid many won't believe him. He has created his own credibility issues though.
Fair enough. Tomorrow is another day. Let's hope it brings something good. That is becoming my mantra.
Yes, I commiserate with you Net. It hurts to lose money. Money can make us act in ways that are not reflective of who we really are. I'm sure many of you are great guys/gals, but these goddam message boards bring out the worst in some people (me included).
You almost got my point. Perhaps I didn't do a good job of explaining it.
If someone tells people they are going to write a letter to management demanding answers, would it not be too much to assume that they would be prepared for the worst possible answers to their questions?
If we can agree that this individual did not assume that all would be rosy, and that he had given some thought to what he might do if the answers were not good, then we can see my point.
If you were willing to hold and see what happens no matter how bad the answers were, then what was the point of this exercise? It got a lot of people worked up. Now they are doubting their investment, which they have every right to do.
People feed off of each other here, and while to some this is just a message board, others take it as much more. I respect that (except for those obvious bashers that surface from time to time) and I don't like to see emotions toyed with.
That was it. Didn't intend to argue with you. I just wish that we could all give some respect to each other, regardless of what they believe (again, except for those obvious bashers).
Why would you say that I have my head in the sand? Because I don't take what you say as the truth? I don't even know you. It would be foolish of me to believe anyone on here.
You made a comment about me not being perceptive, hence the reference to personality.
I am sorry if the way I write offends you. It is the way I was taught, so you can blame my teachers for that :)
By the way, I never said that Frank was or was not diluting shares. I only said that I am waiting for the facts to come out , and will not jump on any spur-of-the-moment bandwagons that want to head off of a cliff. Thanks.
Sadly I am not better informed than I was yesterday. I do not believe much of what is posted on these boards. I do my own DD and am comfortable with it. I would never rely on anyone that I do not know to feed me data on which I will base investments.
I have no personal beef with lobo. It just occurred to me that this got everyone worked up and for what... to hold and see what happens? His actions, while commendable, got a lot of people all worked up. If he was going to hold, why not just hold and let others do their own homework.
I have lost about $8k on this thing, and have been in it for a long time. I used to get mad occasionally, but what is the point? I knew it was a risk, and was willing to take a loss if it didn't work. All I can do now is wait for cold hard facts. Thanks.
I will submit to you the same question that I asked junkmaster.
If you are taking that email as fact, and they say that it was not the final version, then why are you not reserving judgment until the final draft comes out?
I don't know what it will say. It might say the same thing, but to say that this alleged "draft" is factual, and to base further assumptions on it is not rational.
junkmaster, you don't know me so no need for analyzing my personality. :)
From what I understand you are taking Frank's email as fact, so why not reserve judgment until the final version makes its way to you? According to an email from IR, it was not a finalized draft. So why are you taking one as fact and the other gets no consideration?
By the way, just for clarification, what I meant by empirical is this: capable of being verified or disproved by observation or experiment. There are several different meanings.
As far as I am concerned, unless one has observed the sheets of paper that indicate the share counts, or has actually done the audit himself, you have no empirical evidence. What you have is speculation, heresay, and observations from a message board. From having had the opportunity to present cases before a court, I understand what it means to formulate a strong argument. There are just too many holes all around here. Both sides would have a hard time proving anything to me right now. Thanks for your reply.
So with all the commotion you stirred up with your emails, you are holding and going to see what happens? What, were you going to sell before that? This email did nothing more than stir up all of your emotions. It didn't change your mindset, it just gave you something to yammer about.
mcfly, you are right. I liken it to a bunch of castaways on a very small island, all growing more and more paranoid with each passing day. It spawns irrational thought and, even worse than that, non-stop speculation. Nobody has any proof to support their theories. It is all "I think".
This used to be a good one. Now it's a pit.
Most of the information on this board is pure speculation. One of my old college professors used to tell me that if people say things 3 times they tend to believe it as fact. That is going on here. It boils down to this... we don't know squat about what is or is not going on. All of these notions about us getting suckered by Q are unfounded assumptions. End of story. There is no arguing that point at all. Unless you have have absolute empirical evidence that directly supports your assertion, then don't even bother with it.
That is not the same company. The British one is completely different. Look at the spelling.
GrecRI has been a LONG-time poster over at the CBS board. Anyone that thinks otherwise is misinformed. If you bothered to go read the CBS board... you would see how this generated. They were looking for someone that actually could see Q on their tv. Someone said they thought skunksyard at IHUB subscribed. And she did. End of story.
I don't post much here, or read much anymore, but I see a LOT of people angry at Frank Olsen, and saying that he doesn't care about the shareholders. At this point, we understand that he hurt the pps by not meeting deadlines. He has admitted to it. That takes some balls if you ask me.
So we all can see that mistakes have been made. Can't go back and change that. All anyone at Q can do is work in the present. We have no idea what is going there, and while that is unfortunate, it is also probably a good idea right now to keep us out of the loop. As soon as there is one mistake on their part, investors jump them. If it was me, I would only let out info that let investors know the progress of the company.
What would you have Olsen do right now? Sign a carrier? Pass an audit? Buyback billions of shares? Those things would definitely help our emotional state, however there is no guarantee that it would do shit to the pps. Most of that is out of his control IMO. You can't get blood from a turnip, and a ten dollar bill is not worth more than ten dollars (no matter how much we want it to be worth twenty dollars).
Not reading the boards and just checking the ticker is the way to go for me. All of this wild speculation and pumping/bashing is not productive and just causes tension for a lot people.
Qatar offered $100 million in aid according to CNN. That is so generous. I hope they take them up on it.
OT: I've had it with internet explorer. Just switched to Firefox. Just got a brand new laptop, hooked up a great antivirus program and after 2 weeks have my first virus. I hate that crap.
I'm not going to argue with you about what is underwater and what is not undersater, but they told those at the Super Dome that they were free to walk if they wanted to.
The National Guard needs to establish base camps immediately and stock them with the essentials (food, water, first aid, etc.) and get those people there before they die. I've donated already and have encouraged others to as well. That is all we can do right now.
The people on the ground want someone to talk to them... to tell them what is going on. That is not happening. Imagine how frustrating that is. Why not get a few blimps up in the air with instructions or at least updates. Dam this goes to show you how unprepared and unprotected our OWN country is.
Charlie48, are you really this negative? Your posts are just tediously similar. Can't you find the good in anything around here?
That is what I concluded as well as some others. Just do the math and you can back your way into it.
Where are all those that said the o/s was going to be 50 billion? At the most, it is under 20, and at best it is 14 or so. No challenging that now.
Irish B = day trader (it says that in his profile). According to IR, he is a major reason the pps stinks.
qwest, you would want to protest based on what factual evidence?
NSS, can you sing another tune?
So... fully reporting company after the audit is complete (according to the PR's). Looking forward to that. This pps sucks, and I think some people are bailing, but not me. This company has not taken a step backward. The only black eye is the pps, and even that is suspect.
My own personal test is when a story about Q shows up on the local news. At that point, I will know they have made it.
Cool. I'd say that his number of day traders seems high, but maybe. I don't do that, however when I bought in there were self-professed "longs" that went from buy and hold to buy and flip. Guess they got tired of not riding the wave. Too bad that has to happen, but that is the nature of penny stocks.
Frank must have been beside himself with excitement today. Too bad he wasn't able to PR this. I like the way it is coming together. A LOT of grass root support and word of mouth.
