Just because I was down there digging in Feburary doesnt mean that a team of historians were out poking around. Also up to last week most of the ground up there was frozen. Not permafrost, but enough to ensure that anyone with a shovel wouldn't bother. So you are right to think that the HIA will take 30-45 days, but you should start your timer now instead of three months ago.
What happened to our volume? Things were really picking up here the last couple of weeks.
It is unlikely the Fraser project will be permitted any time soon. The HIA(Heritage Impact Assessment) requirement was announced on December 18 which was a week before Xmas. Nothing meaningful would have been done until likely January, and by meaningful I mean vetting historians. I would suggest that only now are they mobilizing to do the assessment which would take up to a month to complete. We might see a completed report by April or May. Then its back to the bureaucrats to review it. IF things go well we could see an approval in June. Then come the question of access, and equipment mobilization. If things get going by August then the project will start to pay almost immediately, unlike what we've experienced at Ruby.
There was a PR stating that the AOA was submitted on October 25 http://finance.yahoo.com/news/north-bay-resources-inc-nbri-153215281.html
So I am sure they will PR when the HIA is complete and has been submitted. Look for that + 1.5 months for any kind of approval.
Wow, congrats on a claim like that. It must be nice to have access gold bearing bedrock like that; you found quite a pocket. My area is not known for nuggets anywhere that size, but I did hear of a 13 gram nugget several miles down stream from where I am so they are not an impossibility. Hand mining definitely makes one appreciate the old timers work ethic.
I am really happy with the PR today, it sounds like the new boss knows what he is doing. However it doesn't take an expert to figure out that .0008 oz/ton doesn't pay. Good to see that Leopold has brought in a real miner to take the control of operations.
Those are some beauties. What setting were in to find those? Panning, sluicing, etc.... which also begs the question; why did you ever leave? I would have quit my day job for those.
As far as the Fraser is concerned, I am definitely ahead this year. If they get their operation going though, it wont take more than a few scoops to end my run, lol! Can we both bet on me?
Here is a pic of 3g of fine float gold. The platinum is .7g. Total value is $180 CDN.

Not bad for 3.5 hours of shoveling.
Float gold aka flood gold, is exactly that. It gets pushed around during high water on its journey to a better resting place. That gold is fairly coarse to be called float gold, but too small to be called nuggety. I sure hope thats not all they got from the latest tests. I got .122 oz in a morning on the Fraser. My gold was much finer though, true float gold, but not flour.
Lol, some of those .0261's went into my account. Hope that the bottom is in. Trading today was a frenzy. People were actually scrambling to get their shares under .03. To break .03 and stay there we might need some news. Spring is here, time to buy the summer story IMO.
All out war today! With 1.2 million sells it looks like the bottom is close. Bids look more like a feeding frenzy.
I finally got my take all wieghed up from my claim trip. 4 grams in 3.5 hours. I am happy with that. $50/hr to run a shovel isnt too bad. If you are impressed with that, remember that NBRI's Fraser bench claims are roughly twice as rich as my ground! In some places there 5 times more gold!
Definitely the cheapest NBRI shares I have ever owned. Thanks! They are going to look really nice in 3-5 months time.
What ever angle anyone takes, the best way to get any info will be through NBRI IR. Calls to the mining office in Kamloops will do no good to anyone. It wont make things better or worse, they will just tell you pee up a rope. If you are not the claim holder, you have no right to find out what is going on with the paperwork on another mine. Save your questions for Perry.
It will be nice to see what having a manager on site will do for production. My hope is that everyone gets along, and are on the same page as far as where things are headed.
Nice day today. Must be something coming.
Fraser Platinum
After a positive ID I can say that I am getting some nice platinum from my Fraser claim too. From the last trip I have 2g of gold and .5g of platinum. When I re-run my concentrates I expect the platinum count to go up... maybe double.(miner's dance)

C'mon NBRI, time to wake up VanWinkle and get some of that fine Fraser Platinum!
Here is a little morsel about platinum on the Fraser. I have been in conversation with the guy who mines these claims and he suggested to me that in places the platinum to gold ratio is 1 to 1.

Today platinum is $1460. With that said, the BC government is talking about new fees to process your Notice of Work or NOW. NBRI will be looking at an additional $6000 just to have their NOW reviewed. However, I believe this is in response to the calls for shorter NOW approval times.
From what I could see he could be out there now, but its touch and go right now. That day there was a big snow storm on the coast while the claim was untouched. They would probably start in the spring if they didn't start already.
Well you dont have to go far to find gold there. Georgia has some pretty good gold too. The mats I use come from there. Do I pay my expenses? Not yet, but I am getting there. Every cleanout is the best one I have ever had, so its just a matter of time. Spending a couple of days up there would really help too. High water is just around the corner though, and the wife is 8 months up the guff, so I wont be doing much mining for the foreseeable future. Now its NBRI's turn!
Ahhh hahaha, you must be one of my subscribers. Thanks for sharing! I consider myself very lucky to live and play here.
BFHJ is back on the no info list so I am stuck with it anyhow.
Low water is prime time anywhere. I was out this weekend on my Fraser claim and got a nice little payday. I haven't got it all cleaned out yet (darn day job), but it will certainly eclipse my previous day's best! It wont match NBRI's 2 oz take, but I wont have to process 100 tons to get there
I am holding until the year end #'s come out. End of March may be the end of BFHJ, or the beginning.
The requirements in BC are less than you might find from MSHAW. There are only a handful of mining inspectors that police a large area. They might get an inspection once a season, maybe every two. I have heard of mechanized placer ops that ran for 10 years without an inspection. Many more that go for a year or two with no oversight.
Gold is not created by earthquakes. The only force in the universe powerful enough to create gold is a supernova (or god if you choose).Due to its high specific gravity most of the gold on earth is deposited throughout the mantle and comes to the surface only when squeezed up by tectonic forces. This happens through the process that you have accurately described. Gold cannot be created by an earthquake, but merely delivered by it. Check out the Sudbury Basin in Ontario. It is a faulted and fractured basin caused by a meteor strike. This allowed mineral rich fluids to permiate the crust, and created a gold rich area in a zone with little tectonic activity.
Well they had to announce the results one way or another. What I didn't like was the whole "waste rock" and "stress testing" angle. They would have known that it was waste rock well before they began extraction, but it was never mentioned in the PR when the samples were being removed. It felt like they were stress testing me instead of the plant! Lets hope the next batch is more encouraging.
This is the same kind of information that suggested that there was all kinds of equipment in repo. Specifically a rig that was missing. I wonder if Mac Maxcey has retained a lawyer and answered to the charges against him?
The cold is typical, but it is unusually dry this year. Tuff to say what is going on with the historical analysis these days. One thing for sure is that there is not much digging going on; everything is frozen stiff. IF they started the study in the fall, it is certainly not happening now. March is more likely for some kind of action. Its going to be a long road to get this property properly permitted I think.
Yes both of those cases should be interesting outcomes. We will hear more next week. The 10th I believe. Also Maxcey will not have much of a chance in court if he wont answer to the charges. We will see how PROUD of his actions he is when he is in the hot seat.
I think you should up your expectations Spanky. Most, if not all of NBRI's projections use the historical average as their base line. At .164 oz/ton this 100 ton sample better produce 16 oz more or less. 3-5 oz would be a disaster!
10-15 oz would be OK, but one could make the case that a 100 ton sample isn't enough to determine anything when considering the life of the entire property.
I am looking for 16 oz or more to move us. FYI 3-5 oz is what I would expect from my gold claim, not the Ruby mine.
Yes it seems that NBRI has a new disease from China... dragonass. I also wait patiently for some indication of the results, but wonder what the hold ups are.
Come on Perry the only cure for dragonass is to get it in gear!
I have worked with a bit of CNC stuff before and converting pics can sure be handy. I made a cover plate for my old 204Z in aluminum with the "Z" embossed on it. That walnut is nice to work with too. Very forgiving and doesnt burn like cherry. The sapwood also looks great on the sign; nice figure!
When I talk about cleanup equipment I am talking about the the apparatus they use to wash the gold out of the concentrates. Some operations use a shaker table, others just pan it out. Just curious what the miners will be using(how long) to clean up the gold.
There is always one! Faced with a large bill, someone always has more to loose and when presented with an out... they TAKE it!!
That sgn is a beauty! Very nice work indeed. Do you have a CNC or did you carve that out by hand?
It would be nice to be a fly on the why in the clean up shack today as they process the concentrates from the plant! That leads me to another question; what kind of clean up equipment are they using up at Ruby?
I dont believe they had to kill Smaug to get through the portal, but I dont think you appreciate how rare these are. He was able to get them by metal detecting the working face and duff around it, so we know there will be more further in. The fact that he has easily picked up almost 2 oz of COARSE gold is pretty impressive.
Nuggets are rare and Ruby has them. Many prospectors can go a lifetime without finding a nugget over 1 gram, Clifton has a small handfull.
Sorry Malc I didn't see the pics yesterday. I cant say either way.
New pics up, dated today from the Black Channel raise. Another .5 oz of nuggets for the team!
http://www.northbayresources.com/ruby/
I wonder how much stock they have left/ still have coming?
Why the snicker???
Once they decide to fire up the wash plant though, it wont take long to get the results. 100 tons gets eaten up pretty fast in a 1000 yard per day plant. I would assume cleaning out the plant will take several hours the first time around, and then it will be on to the final clean up. If they wash tomorrow they should have the results on Friday afternoon. My guess is they will post some of the gold (if they get any... snicker) on the website this weekend. The official PR could come next week if there are no hickups.
We should find out somethig today when the newsletter comes out. Hopefully there is news on Stockton #3 and Kubacak financing plans.
