FTM, looking at the Bavi PII numbers in comparison to the PIIIs you posted, can you explain why some here think the Bavi trial was a failure? I thinK the numbers are respectable, and I look forward to a trial where the restrictions can be tightened up a bit.
Thanks,
Mark
BioChica, I disagree. Although the trial didn't fare very well overall, the data subset results are very encouraging, which allows the management team to make adjustments and proceed with another trial. So, I wouldn't say the trial was a failure.
Thanks,
Mark
Woow, article is not accurate, which makes it worthless. SK discussed p-value and hazard ratio at the Cowen conference......
Hi Alvaroc,
Are you still in contact with our former CEO Ed Legere? Is Mr. Legere still involved with Peregrine?
TIA
"Lets hope your prediction for end of Jan for news is better than all the fantasy writings that I've read hear since Sept 7th."
Huh? I don't think Charlie is predicting anything. He's just passing along information he heard from IR.
Study: Lung cancer on the rise in women and nonsmokers......

I'm also a long time investor from the Techniclone days, and I'm with FTM and the other longs. I've been here for too long to sell out on the cheap. I have great faith in bavi and will hold on for much more than $10. I do wish nothing but the best for those who want to sell their shares sooner.
Good luck to us all...
Yes, they had a webcast on a part of the ASM back in 2006. Thorpe and Soares gave presentations on Bavi anti cancer and anti viral that year.....
NY, your making lots of assumptions here....
Figure it out basket...
Pharmboy, we don't know if the mis-coding occurred between the control and treatment arms. The PR stated that mis-coding occurred in the treatment arm, no mention of the control arm. Wish people would stop throwing out wild accusations until we get FACTS from the company.....
I think many here are going to the opposite extreme of irrational exuberance. We need to wait and hear the findings from the company before passing judgement. Reading the PR it states there were coding a errors in the treatment group, and everyone immediately starts blaming the company. I'm wit FTM, let's all wait to hear what King/Garnick has to say before passing judgement.....
GLTYA!!
"You guys who are saying you wouldn't take $30 per should keep in mind where you were 3 months ago"
this is exactly why I wouldn't consider anything less than $30. Bavi alone is worth much more, and
I've been here for 12 grueling years.... We longs know the potential value of this company....
GLTYA!
Wook, aren't you located in southern Cali? if so, you should have no problem in making the ASM. I plan on coming and I'm in northern Cali!!
This whole theory of Bavi having vaccination qualities was discussed at the 2005 ASM. I was there and had the good fortune of hearing Dr. Thorpe and Molina Soares give presentations on Bavi-AC and Bavi-AV. Then chairman Dr. Waltz made a comment, stating that "Tarvacin (I.e., Bavi) could be the greatest scientific discovery in the last twenty years. Now I'm beginning to realize the possible magnitude of this statement.
Ha!!! AF has been watching too many reruns of "The Fugitive". Conspiracy theories about pharma falsifying the data!!!
Posse, it's the very last chart on that page.......
KT, that article was still skewed to the "bear" side, but at least it's more balanced than prior articles written by this guy, but like you stated, it's a start.....
I believe several years ago Peregrine contracted Avanir to develop their humanized version of Bavi. longs please correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I remember...
Hey Rokkonn, good to see a familiar name from many years back. Like you I've also held on all these years, and hopefully the fruits from our continuing belief in the science is finally coming to bear. Hope to see you on this board more often.
:)
So I guess it's safe to say that MOS results were not skewed?
Me too FTM!! The last ASM I went to was back in 2006. Dr Thorpe gave a presentation on Bavi Anti-Cancer and Marina Sores gave one on Bavi Anti-Viral. Thorpe is a great presenter. hope to meet both you, Entdoc and others from this board at the ASM.
Hi Braun, not sure where Frootie is, hopefully still around and enjoying the exciting times with PPHM. It's good to see you and others from back in the day are still around to see Bavi finally coming to fruition...
The ultimate PPHM poster and fan back in the day was Solagratia!! anyone remember her??
Just goes to show that these wanna be biotech journalists don't know "jack" about Peregrine, especially with a comment like "the company's close to entering Phase 3 trails with a hepatitis C drug that's shown very encouraging efficacy so far".
Huh?? I sure hope no one is taking his advice.....
I hear ya Jake, but I'd rather have that tan our present incestuous board anyway. Also, my belief is that as soon as we get additional board members, we will also recruit non-partisan board members, institutions who are heavily will insist on it!!
Jake, I believe any partnership will require board seats for the partnering company. Maybe this is why we didn't solicit more board members before?
Kool!! Isn't it amazing what a year and great data can do to turn things around? A year ago we were all calling for King's head on a platter, now we love him!
Hey Cloaked, you have to fit the annual shareholders meeting somewhere in the schedule..... I think it's sometime in October.
Goat, I agree -- very hard working man. SK has trouble at times articulating his views, but he really is brilliant as far as the science is concerned. Oh, Truc Le is the former COO at Avid I was talking about in my prior post. Truc Le was responsible fro bringing Garnick on board, initially for Avid and biosimilars. Truc introduced Garnick to SK and PPHM management, and the rest is history --
M :)
Geo, I agree -- although the push for Avid originally came from former CEO Legere, SK was mainly responsible for the start-up of Avid, a pretty big undertaking. Also, I believe the fellow that was at one time the COO at Avid (no longer there and I can't remember his name) introduced Garnick to SK & Peregrine, and SK was wise enough to accept him into the fold. I believe SK was responsible (along largely with Garnick) for the plan that put us in the position we're in today. I sincerely think that SK deserves more credit than his is given.
I trust SK and Garnick to get us to the finish line.
M :)
PG, I understand. I've been here and underwater for 12 yrs, but I'm not going to let go of my shares so easily. I'm going to be monitoring several factors and metrics before I sell. For example, if MOS is as good as we anticipate, then IMHO we will eventually see the PPS much higher than 20/share.
Good luck to us all my friend...
Mark -
We get a 2 billion buy-out of BAVI while another pharma buys a Hep-C drug for 12 billion??? No way!!
So was the light bulb, the Ford model-t, the Dart story, KFC, McDonalds, Apple, Microsoft, YaHoo, Google, Cell Phones, iPads, etc. They were all too good to be true before they became "TRUE". It can happen, keep this in mind.
M :)
JR, did you have a different handle on the RagingBull board?
I too am "cautiously" more confident about Bavi's future. It's really easy to get caught up in the euphoria of Bavi's recent success, but I've seen on occasion companies similar to Peregrine with a potential blockbuster drug rise to new heights. This is my hope for the future of Bavi and Peregrine. We've come a looong way with this company, and the shorts had their way with us previously because we were short on cash/revenues and didn't have any concrete results to validate Bavi's MOA. I think this may now be behind us.
Thanks buddy, I really enjoy reading yours and other longs posts on this board.
Good luck --
I understand JR. I've been here from way back beginning in 2000. Throughout the down years what has kept me here is my faith in the science. You have to agree though, that this past month is truly different and we've reached what Steven would say in prior years a major inflection point. I understand you wanting to be cautious as do I, but I'm still hopeful that this will turn out in favor of us long suffering shareholders.
Good luck to us all.
JR, I'm not saying that it will happen, but believe me it can happen, given all the right variables and set of circumstances. Look at Vertex as an example.
M
I agree FTM, Garnick has said that the PH III trial design will be modeled after the PH II, but with a larger patient population. It makes sense being that Garnick has a history of trial designs being accepted by the FDA. I'm sure though that whoever we partner will want to provide input into the trial design.
1. $2.00 100%
2. $5.00 100%
3. $10.00 90%
4. $20.00 70%
Thanks Thurly, from the link that you posted I think that AA is the way to go for this specific phase III trial.
Thanks again!
M :)
