Ok, we all know the reasons to not own this stock now. Just for balance, what are the reasons to buy in now? Usually when everybody is panicked, it's a good time to buy. I'm not sure on this one.
Bluuoforange,
I think the pessimism is based on fraudulent results that showed the complete ineptitude of management. This has class action lawsuit written all over it. I'm not even sure how the company can get atm money at this point. Who is going invest? And now they can't get a loan either. Where is all this money for a brand new nsclc study going to come from? People who bought over 5 bucks based on fraudulent results have every reason to be negative. How do we even know that Bavi works for that matter? People who are talking buyout have completely lost their mind. Why in the world would someone buy this company? At some point you have to accept reality. I know it's hard if you have lost your tail for years on this dog. But at what point is enough enough? Even if Bavi works, management screw it up.
So let me get this straight, the only reason this thing was doing so well was the phase 2 results which are now bogus? Why even buy in now? This company has provided a lot of "buying opportunities" over the years. Why is the stock worth anymore than what it was at 39 cents? Bogus data? I sold the last of my shares yesterday. This is a dog.
I bought into this stock at 1.07. I sold at 2.72 and 2.40 and hated myself for it after it rose above 5 bucks. This stock is dead now. I only made money because of people on this board. Get out of this dog now.
Is this a buy or a sell now?
Is there anything more painful than being a pphm investor?
So is this the end for pphm?
i felt so smart when i bought in at 1.07. then i sold at 2.72 and 2.40 and then watched as it went over 5 bucks and hated myself. and now i'm like holy crap! is this a buy or a sell now?
I think that "dealing" with a guy on twitter only gives him a bit of legitimacy that he's craving. And it leads to a stupid conversation.
Who cares what some idiot is saying on twitter? If this data is as good as it looks, it won't matter.
This stock is rising at a huge rate even with all of the negative articles and negative tweets.
We all get to pick where we put our money based on our research. Let the day trader winners and losers fall where they may. The scientific results are out there now. It's actually out of the hands now of the day traders as to where this is going mid term and long term. It's up to scientists who analyze the data as to where this is going at this point.
So if a bunch of people sell on negative commotion and you believe this thing is going to the moon, just buy more if you can. If you can't afford more, just stop paying attention to the buzz on twitter and watch your money grow.
Actions speak louder than words and it is nice to see that the company is getting a loan rather than the usual ATM financing. So what is fundamentally different now that would lead PPHM to do that? Has this ever happened before?
I just saw that PPHM got a loan. Is the the first time the company has gotten a loan?
nateee
This company doesn't sell shares when prices are high. This company likes to sell shares when they are at their lowest levels.
Wook,
Unfortunately, she is not still with us.

Huh? I think you must have misunderstood. No problem, I won't come back here.
I happen to be a web developer although my specialty is back end. But I have already been thinking of building a stock web site. If I do, I'll see if one of the brainiacs on this board want to do a write-up and I'll post it. I guess it's 15 years too late though huh? If things go as they should, it really won't matter anymore.
BTW, I have tried using IE and Chrome on this site and they both run like dogs. I am using Firefox today and it's running a lot smoother.
"pphm_mike, you would rather sit on dry powder than shoot it off on a dip like this? too painful."
I'm not exactly sure what that means :)
I think since we haven't reached phase 3 yet (much less FDA approval), there is plenty of time to get in. I may be wrong of course which is why I still have some. But I will sleep better not having all of my eggs in one basket. What I love about the shorters is that they usually don't let anything go up too quickly. And they only understand TA, not science.
On a separate note, when is the last time things have been this intense with PPHM? Back at 39 cents there was a sense of apathy almost. I stopped watching at that point and put it out of my mind for a few month. But now it just seems like there's a lot more on the line and everybody is excited/nervous. I'm still nervous too.
Call me crazy, but I think that even with extremely good news on 9/7, there will still be time to buy in. The day traders won't even understand the significance of the science and they will be profit taking for pennies on the dollar. Not to mention the shorts will still be trying to play the spikes. I'm at the point now where I'll feel more comfortable buying in after good news at a premium than the increase my position on dips. Still, I'm very curious about what data is about to be presented. Loofman, can you pull that crystal ball out of your shack and tell us what is about to happen? Also, could you please turn that rocket back up? I know you're just learning to steer the rocket, but after 5 jugs of licker your steering is waaaaay off.
Loof,
I don't think these huge runs downwards are just the shorts. I think the extreme fluctuations are attracting a ton of day traders which makes it even more volatile. Emotions and greed are running very high right now.
Realist, since you are quite the prognosticator, let's start a new game. What will the stock price be on 9/10/2012 at the close of market?
Anybody adding today? JR, what do you think the technicals say about an entry point?
I noticed that this site had been running slowly all day when I saw at the bottom of my browser it said "waiting for facebook.com". So I opened a new tab and logged into facebook and now it is running much faster. I don't really know what is going on with that, but thought I'd let you guys know in case anybody else is having the same issue.
Loofman,
You fell asleep at the rocket controls! Now that you're awake, could you please steer it back up again?
I highly doubt the blog is what drove us down. We had the Motley Fool slam us during our run up and that didn't drive us down. And they are a respected site that I actually use to get their perspective on companies. At least one other random site slammed PPHM during the run as well. This was going to happen either way imo. Too much time between a huge run and the next news. This is a moment of truth for believers in the science. If this drop is based on TA in spite of science, then it is truly a buying opp. The biggest argument I've seen against the science of Bavi is that it took too long to find its legs and the data isn't comprehensive enough. I think the presentation on the 7th will probably put that argument to rest, but I'm not as confident as I'd like to be. I can't image why the BOD would decide to present data that isn't new and positive. If they just reiterate the same data, I will be so pissed.
As much as today feels like a good swift kick to the nuts, this doesn't change the science. Like somebody said earlier, either Bavi works or it doesn't. We'll all find out at the same time. My chips are in. A pull back doesn't affect anything in my mind. I'm not a day trader. I'm an investor.
Stoneroad,
This is exactly what I'm talking about. I have not been negative. Show me where I have. I have no motives. I'm not one of those "evil shorts" you hate so much. I have never shorted any stock. But if I ever did, it wouldn't be a stock like this that is so unpredictable.
But here is the part that you probably can't get your mind around. If I were shorting this stock, I would not troll a message board with negative information expecting to lower the stock price. Do you know why? Because WHAT WE SAY ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD HAS NO BEARING ON THE STOCK PRICE! Try to get that through your head.
FWIW, I am long on PPHM.
I have been a lurker on this board for years. Since the raging bull days. I posted a few times and never really got any response because I had questions and comments instead of pom poms. I learned that if you don't bring your pom poms, you will be ignored or insulted.
I didn't invest in this company until January of this year. Since then I have seen my shares go from 1.07 to .39 to over 3 bucks and back under. But no matter what happens to share price or to the financials of the company, this board considers anybody with questions or concerns or comments to be a basher of the stock. Like if you haven't blindly suffered for years, you are an outsider.
But to tell a person who is talking about his trades that he is outside of the lines of what should be talked about on this board is very hypocritical when you all talk about where to party like it's 1999 when we all get rich WHEN this stock goes to 100/share.
In short, I am going back to lurking, but I am a natural skeptic. So I come here for the science and take it with a grain of salt. I have really enjoyed Loofman's images and that is probably my favorite part of this experience. But some of you are bullies with blinders.
This is a highly speculative stock and the shorts posting on message boards don't cause it to go down. Those are just the people that profit from the action (if they're even telling the truth about their positions).
I think more information is better but that's just me. *goes back to lurking*
Ok that's good to know. I guess if it's only ten minutes, at least it will be short and sweet. I started to get a little lost listening to the last conference.
Thanks a bunch cjgaddy. I was starting to wonder if anybody was even seeing my posts. It looks like they have a lot to present, but when I went to the site for the symposium, it looks like they only had 10 minutes to present and it wasn't even SK who was presenting. Am I just not seeing something? Thanks again!
What do you guys expect from the symposium?
Did anybody else notice that the presentation at the Chicago symposium is only 10 minutes? What do you guys expect to come from this? Do you think there will be any new data? 10 minutes doesn't seem like a lot of time to talk. Don't you think this will just be a repeat of the same data with maybe some updated results of median survival or whatever you call it?

Just my 2 cents, but I think calls and puts would both be expensive on a highly volatile stock such as this one. This thing just increased 500% recently and it could have a huge pull back or it could go to 10 bucks in a week.
So, what do you guys think of the conference yesterday? Anything significant come out of it?
Can we stop with the evil forces stuff? I don't mean to be harsh, but that is the kind of talk that makes people not take this stock seriously. The latest phase 2 results are very exciting and if this turns out really well, this stock will be worth a ton of money. "Evil Forces" aren't going to stop it now and they didn't stop it then. A company usually needs to be profitable to have a high stock price. Let's see if we can make some money. It's funny how those evil forces go away once the profit rolls in.
24,300 @ 2.3179 after hours
Am I the only one who is bored at the trading today? zzzzzzzzzz
It's about time you lit that rocket!
After hours went from 1.94 to 1.87. Hopefully that won't matter. I still think we'll break 2 tomorrow.
Does anybody know a site that has real time trade info for after hours trades?
I knew it! Now if we can just break 1.90!
