In S today @13.05. Looks like it might finally be due for a run up from these levels. Some announcements from the new C.E.O. are probably forthcoming.
Has service gotten any better since the exit of Forsee?

Report: Holidays Big Time For Gun Sales
6:51 am MST December 24, 2007
ENVER -- The Colorado Bureau of Investigation's instant background check, required on all gun purchases from licensed firearms dealers, set a one-day record in November and officials said they will hit a record for the year, the Rocky Mountain News reported Monday.
According to the newspaper, the CBI's InstaCheck program handled 1,306 checks in 12 hours on the day after Thanksgiving, so-called Black Friday for its potential to put retailers in the black for the year.
Apparently guns are a big gift item for Christmas, too. The previous record for background checks was 1,234, set last December, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

The Model 340ScPD is a favorite of undercover ICE agents in the US, though theirs have fiberoptic inlays on the sights.
The Models 637 Sc and 638 Sc are derivatives of the Model 340, and are both favorites of ICE agents.
The Model 637 ScPD also has the enhancement of Hi-Viz fiberoptic sights (as do ICE Model 637 Sc’s).

Shoppers Deck the Malls
Financial expert says retailers are seeing the green
By Bruce C. Smith

December 22, 2007
Shoppers flooded the streets of Metropolis mall in Plainfield this week, trying to beat the Christmas deadline.
They also showed up to let youngsters take a turn on Santa's knee despite weeks of downbeat economic predictions about holiday spending.
"If you have been reading over the past four months about the surveys of consumer confidence, you'd get the idea that a recession was looming," said Michael Hicks, director of Ball State University's Bureau of Business Research.
"But I see other indicators, and I care more about what people actually do in their shopping rather than the surveys and predictions."
Consumer confidence is actually high, and holiday spending will be high, "breathtakingly up," Hicks said. Among the keys, he said, is that post-Thanksgiving "Black Friday" sales were up 7.2 percent compared with the same day a year ago. "That is surprising, and it is more than just inflation."
Hicks also pointed to the calendar, which this year gives shoppers almost an extra week in the traditional retail period from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

Forsee put out to pasture at the Univ. of Missouri:
"At a welcoming reception Thursday, Forsee acknowledged he's about to enter unfamiliar territory with the move to academia. He vowed to "earn that trust and respect" of skeptics, including some faculty members who question his qualifications.
"I come into this with a lot to learn," he said. "I have to go back to school, if you will. ... The burden of proof falls on the new guy."

Please answer your own question; Have you read the 10Q yourself or making your decisions on the number of stars Motley gives a stock.

Smith & Wesson Still the Most Powerful Handgun on the Planet
Author: Chad Reimer | Posted: 19-12-2007
Smith and Wesson got their start in 1852 with the release of several firearms. Smith and Wesson kept the company within the family until 1964, when sold to several large investors. But the most controversial move was when Smith & Wesson was sold to Tomkins PLC, a British company. During Tomkins’ ownership Smith & Wesson say their darkest hour, with the boycott and resurface of a large majority of Smith & Wesson firearms, to ensure the loss of profits.
Smith & Wesson revolvers still account for more then half of the revolvers made in the USA, according to National Shooting Sports Foundation reports released. Smith & Wesson has always leaded the industry in power and precision, for example the release of the S&W 44 magnum which became one of the most popular revolvers in pop culture history.
To close the Tomkins PLC chapter of Smith & Wesson’s history they decided to go at it again with the Smith & Wesson model 500. Now the largest handgun in mass production, featuring the X frames design to balance the force with control. The Smith & Wesson 500 magnum was specifically designed to take down any large game, without a second thought to adequate firepower. With the popularity growing on the S&W 500 magnum, S&W is sure to remain in the top three firearms producers in the USA, for the foreseeable future.
But they aren’t finished yet, Smith & Wesson M&P series is also a relatively new series on S&W production line. The military and police models have experienced a growing popularity within competitive shooters and other firearms communities. S&W M&P firearms come in a wide variety as well, aside from just pistols; Smith & Wesson began the production of AR-15 rifles, which have been an instant hit with law enforcement communities.
The Smith & Wesson firearms had their beginnings as a must have revolver, and now have gone almost full circle, with the exception of shotguns. Smith & Wesson has a long history of developing large firearms, as well as police favorites, from the 38 special to the 40 S&W cartridges. The Smith & Wesson 40 caliber became so popular that almost every firearms manufacturer now produces a pistol in this caliber.
Making the compromise of precision and practical cost has always been a high priority of Smith & Wesson. With the ability for almost every firearms enthusiast to acquire a handgun despite the finical situation, its no wonder why Smith & Wesson managed to regain their strong following. In conclusion the indiscrepencies of the past have been forgotten and forgiven Smith & Wesson, with the help of their constantly changing and innovative products.

We Are Smarter Than Me: How the Wisdom of Crowds Can Help Businesses Succeed
Published: December 06, 2007
Virgin Mobile USA
The cell phone company uses 2,000 carefully selected online customers -- "Insiders," as Virgin calls them -- to keep it abreast of trends and promising opportunities. Virgin describes the group as "a team of elite, young, and active customers," and it rewards them with free calling minutes and phone upgrades.
A joint venture of Richard Branson's Virgin Group and Sprint Nextel, the company goes to its Insider community -- think: very hip focus group -- for help on everything from designing phones to coming up with names for service plans. As one officer of the company put it, "Ultimately, what we want to do is put young consumers backstage."
But this is not high school, and being accepted as part of the in-crowd is not the only way to be heard and earn rewards at Virgin Mobile USA. The company, whose pay-as-you-go, no-contract service has attracted 4.6 million phone users, offers all of its mostly young Chatty Cathys and Texter Thomases the chance to earn free phone minutes simply by paying attention and giving feedback on a corporate sponsor's advertisement. Any Virgin Mobile customer who watches 30-second commercials on his or her computer screen, reads text messages on a cell phone, or fills out brand survey questionnaires can earn up to 75 minutes a month of free airtime. Called Sugar Mama, the program gives a notoriously voluble group the chance to stay one step ahead of a dead cell phone by voicing their opinions.
But more to the point, Sugar Mama enables sponsoring partners to tap into the thoughts and opinions of a coveted marketing segment, and they're happy to pay for the privilege. As one corporate media director pointed out, knowing that the kids don't get paid unless they watch an ad and answer questions helps assure advertisers that they are getting honest feedback.
Catering to the crowd has also delivered an unexpected benefit to Virgin Mobile: buzz marketing. The kids are talking about the company, even those who use another network. When the company kicked off a clever text-messaging marketing program called Adopt-A-Mime that featured silent mimics in whiteface, the word spread fast, both in and out of the Virgin Mobile network. The buzz caused a notable number of non-Virgin customers to inquire about adopting a mime.

Motorola CEO Ed Zander to step down
November 30, 2007: 09:29 AM EST
Nov. 30, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) --
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (AP) - Motorola (NYSE:MEU) (NYSE:MOT) Inc. said Friday that Ed Zander will step down as chief executive of the troubled cell phone maker on Jan. 1.
Zander, 60, will be replaced by President and Chief Operating Officer Greg Brown as CEO.
The announcement sent Motorola shares up more than 4 percent in premarket trading.
Zander will stay on as chairman until the company's annual shareholders meeting in May 2008.
A two-year run of success Motorola enjoyed following the launch of its Razr phone began crumbling last year after sales slowed and the company admitted it had been trading profit margins for global market share by aggressively undercutting pricing.
Motorola has since slipped to third place in the cell phone market behind Samsung Electronics Corp. and remains far behind leader Nokia Corp. (NYSE:NOK)
Last month, Motorola reported a 94 percent drop in third-quarter profit but still managed to impress Wall Street with its progress, improving from a dismal first-half performance and showing that its turnaround effort may be taking hold.
The cell-phone unit, Motorola's biggest, saw quarterly sales plunge 36 percent to $4.5 billion and recorded an operating loss of $138 million. That was nearly $1 billion worse than a year ago but only about half the $264 million loss of the second quarter.
Brown joined the company in 2003 and has served as president and COO since March. Prior to joining Motorola, Brown was chairman and CEO of Micromuse Inc., a network management software company.
Motorola shares rose 65 cents, or 4.2 percent, to $16.27 in premarket trading. The stock remains down in 2007 and is 40 percent off its six-year high of $26.30 reached just a little more than a year ago.
