Hey there Red, no lunar new year celebrations for us this year as we’re in the Middle East now.
The duck is getting big, 8 in a few weeks!!
I hope all is well with you and your gang buddy!
It’s 2:15am so technically yep
Hi Red, I can confirm your opinion is absolutely valid. The place is on literal shutdown or at best, a real ‘go-slow’ for the best part of 3-4 weeks around Tet!!
Sorry Ocho but you obviously have no idea how wide reaching the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act is.
If Kim is reluctant to ‘grease the wheels’ then I don’t blame him. Believe me, NOW is not the time to conduct risky corrupt business, take a look at the crackdowns going on over there.....
I’m sure there are ways and means that could almost guarantee being caught but does Kim come across as even a ‘conservative’ risk taker??!!
Gotta hand it to him though Bob, if he’s been shorting as long as he’s been lurking (and obviously had his timing right) then he has made a bundle, a damn sight more than any of us have.
I’m sure you’ll agree that it won’t be much in comparison to what us longs will make but I’ve a sneaky feeling that at some point ok’ shorty will switch to the longer game!!
Hi TRUTH,
“Which they continue to do (in part) by manufacturing proof of concept items.... ”
What do you consider their ‘concept’ to be in this case? That they can produce fibres (of some sort)?
That’s all I can see that they’ve proven, that their process can produce a fibre, not necessarily strong enough or with performance characteristics to make it worthwhile commercially producing.....
Thanks Bob, same to you as always!
Oh don’t get me wrong, I completely agree on the sentiment regarding shootpacks. If making then testing shootpacks were an easy and or cheap process then I’m sure we’d have been going through the process sooner.
I assume it is neither easy nor cheap so would definitely rather the company’s powder were kept dry for the right time!
“But I would expect a fail if they requested a better performance already.“
I’d only consider it a fail if they waved us goodbye at that juncture. Maybe the fact that they know our fibres are so customisable is sort of going against us (in the short term view).
It could well be that if our fibre design were rigid with no option for customisation, we’d be seeing a commercial deal at this stage. But being a glass half full sort of guy I see it more like “this fibre is really really good, but if we reduced the elasticity by say 25% (for example) it would be absolutely out of this world!!
I know I very rarely post but still lurking in the background. I think putting it in the back of my mind makes it easier to wait. I’m honestly as desperate as anybody for this to work out as soon as possible. Life in Vietnam was much better than currently, working in Saudi Arabia but the oil & gas industry still experiencing a downturn means options are limited. Anyway, as confident as ever, our time is coming :)
I think the confusion comes with the terminology. If my understanding is correct, the ‘award’ would be better understood if it were called a ‘license’ as that is more akin to what it actually is.
What I do know for sure is that the Vietnamese love a ceremony, love a certificate and just about any excuse for a good ok’ knees up! You can’t really throw a party just to hand somebody a license, you can however justify it when you are presenting somebody with an ‘award’ :).
A couple of paragraphs? That’s a crock.
This is a well written piece that is the type of advertising that we’ve been crying on about needing for years!! Admittedly I’d rather it didn’t have the disclaimer on the bottom but beggars can’t be choosers and I’m happier that it exists than if it didnt!
If the disclaimer is truthful, the author has been paid 0.5% of the outstanding shares of the company. If it’s existence results in a sustained 0.5% bump in the share price, then it’s been money well spent for me.
I think lumping everybody’s together is a good idea. I’m happy to share any information by email or whatever tbh.
Regardless, happy to go with whatever the group decide.......
I've met plenty of people with PhDs, that have almost never earned a decent wage because they've been in education since the age of 5.
Believe it or not, being over-educated can often be a hindrance and can present people with problems getting into the job market. In short, I think your assumption that somebody with a PhD would automatically command a crazy salary is somewhat skewed......
Imagine what our silk would be like combined with graphene then!!!
I'd be happy with that call......
"Another round please barman, with. Tequila chaser too"
When she turns up and you're drunk as a skunk you won't be the one to blame ????
If Kim ever reads this board, he will have learnt long ago, not to include timelines..........EVER
As do I King, only reason I'm still here (even if in the background keeping quiet).
Oh and belated happy birthday dude!!
Would anybody on here mind phoning Ben to ask?
I'm in Nam using a Saudi SIM card that is roaming so it'll probably cost a fortune.
Anybody wise mind giving him a quick call?
No, only HCMC I'm afraid Esk!
Just at the airport on my way back to Nam for a week. Do we have an address for the office in Ho Chi Minh? More than willing to pay it a visit if anybody has the address!
Not necessarily, I'd rather investors educate themselves a little rather than waiting mouth open to be spoon fed
Knowing Vietnam the way I do, they won't have managed to attend something like that without being invited to numerous meet-ups with local officials to drink and eat and celebrate.
The Vietnamese will literally have a 'party' at the drop of a hat, absolutely any excuse to get together,,drink copious amounts of beer and eat good food.
I swear if there were another attendee at the event that had a family wedding planned, Kim and Jon would have been begged to come, regardless of their relationship with the inviter. Vietnamese weddings are a big thing and having outsiders attend is, for some reason a big honour. I was invited to lots of weddings and other family celebrations by people I hardly knew.
So in short, they may have been invited to a party or two that was already planned or it's likely a few were planned ad hoc after the award.
That's a very Vietnamese thing, whether man or woman :)
Flowers show up whenever any new business opens or achieve anything significant. Tbh, flowers can be presented to the opening of an envelope in Vietnam!!
Romans, what's happening dude?
Wow Yankee, that's quite a bit of real specific quality information, greatly appreciated!!
Some very sensible words imjin! Can't agree more.
Believe me, I'm the eternal optimist but having held this for 6.5 years, I'm probably in reluctant agreement with you. If Kim says this year, next year is a better likelihood. If Kim says shoot pack testing and results mid year then it'll likely be end of year.
Unfortunately we can't give Kim's predicted timelines much credence so I've set myself up to be realistic rather than disappointed.
I'd love to be wrong on this occasion but history is certainly on my side.
Sorry I pressed send before I had a chance to finish.
Yes it's one of the more travelled places now, VERY popular with tourists but still very much as you will remember it as the centre and its quaint little narrow streets are still around and pedestrianised so are great to walk through.
I'd recommend anybody to visit Vietnam, as a family we all miss it dearly :(
Hoi An is a really lovely place, it's no Longer one of the less travelled place now
Hey Hiking Guy,
I've just seen your PM but have a cheap skate membership so can't PM back. Thanks for the response, god bless.
My experience with paid research reports like this is that they never tell any diligent investor anything they didn't already know.
It's mostly high level stuff and comparisons that mean absolutely nothing in reality.
Please, nobody waste their money!
Hikingguy, words fail me. My Daighter is of a similar age (almost 7) and I can't imagine what you have been through. I now hope KBLB succeeds as soon as possible for your sake more than anybody else's. nothing can ever compensate for what you have lost but you deserve something positive in your life to happen.
Sincere condolences, from my family to yours.
Wouldn't answering the following two questions constitute exactly the same thing?
"Are we in a quiet period?"
"Nope"
"I suspect we are are in a quiet period?"
"Your suspicions are incorrect"
Same same but reworded. It surprises me that one of them is on the correct side of the regulations and the other is not.......
Please, an understanding of basic accounting principles should be a good precursor to interrogating the filings and then spouting your beliefs/opinions on here:
Firstly have you seriously got an issue with us paying sub $200 a month for a small office in Vietnam? This will just be a desk to work at for when one of our representatives is over there trying to move things along. I’m flabbergasted that this question was even asked and perturbed that I’m having to waste finger energy typing a response.
Regarding the equipment value, if you bought a piece of equipment and valued it at $66,104 in 2015, what would you value it at in 2016? Maybe about 15% less? Seem fair?
Regarding the statement about questioning the need for automobiles, I’m lost for words. In response, my fingers steadfastly refuse to use any keys other than ‘l’ & ‘o’ (the former twice as often as the latter). So I won’t respond.
As for depreciation, please look the word accumulated up in the dictionary (hint 31,629 includes the depreciation of 18,989 last year).
Apologies for the sarcastic nature. Firstly I’m British and that’s in our nature :) Secondly, I hate it when people put the company down when it is pretty much unfounded or just downright inaccurate.
Hey SUNYN75, thanks for that I'll definitely check it out.
As for repatriating, I'd still be an alien if I got with them as I'm a Brit!
I'm hoping when KBLB kicks off I'll be able to choose when/where and if I work!! ;)
Thanks to Bob and King for the messages too. I'm limited still so I can't respond individually.....
I've never wanted/needed this to succeed more than I do now as myself and my Wife stuck in jobs that we really don't like at the moment.
I work in oil & gas and the downturn saw me out of work for almost a year. As a result, savings have been depleted to near enough zero so no choice but to take a job in SAUDI ARABIA. You don't know what you've got till its gone and Jesus did I have it good in Vietnam!!
Good luck to all and well done for sticking with it, fingers crossed are day is coming soon.........
True that, admittedly both countries are taking some actions to combat it
The sh#tstorm that would ensue if this were Kraig!!!!
Should be an interesting one this one ????
