Very interestng :)
"Sale of Immunex Corporation, a leader in immune system science innovation and manufacturer of leading rheumatoid arthritis drug, ENBREL, to Amgen Corporation (AMGN). Transaction valued at $16 billion."
Sounds like we are heading in a new direction. Hopeful 100% different then were we were going until now. It will be nice to have a professionally run company. I think we can be fairly certain we won't have any no more "ice age" prs.
Anyone else notice "DE" is the exact opposite of Ed :)
His bonus will be partially based on sales of Asepticsure so I guess he is going in that direction versus leasing. They could get around that if the changed their mind by creating a wholly owned subsidiary that buys the machines from Medizone and handles the leasing.
" U.S. market penetration of AsepticSure (trials and minimum sales of 10 units in the US or 20 units globally)"
WIV - You have been very quiet about the recent news. I assume you will now have a receptive ear for some of the suggestions you've been articulating on this board over the past 4-5 years. Satisfied with the new direction?
Possible - does anyone know about Medizone except for the people on this board :)
Will be interesting to see if Esposito is enough of a name to actually get some mention of this appointment in main-stream press. We still haven't seen anyone report on the EPA approval.
If someone had told me 6 months ago that we would have EPA approval, a new CEO with a proven track record and a share price under 10 cents I would never have believed it. I still don't believe it even though I see it with my own 2 eyes.
I guess Mr. Esposito has a lot of work ahead of him to move this company forward. His resume says he is up to the task, but only time will tell.
The only way that makes sense was if this wasn't planned and Marshall needs to step down right now for other reasons e.g. health. But all the signs pointed to a planned sucession and Esposito certainly seemed like a logical choice.
The obvious advantage of it being planned is that it means Esposito is still confident he can make this work. If he was forced by circumstances to step in - not as good of a sign of what he thinks.
You would think so, but why is he only interim - are they still looking for someone else?
Wow!! What we have been hoping for - sometimes dreams do come true! I had posted recently if Ed steps down share doubles overnight. I guess we will know tomorrow if I was right! :)
At some point I'm going to have to admit to myself that I drank the Medizone Kool-Aid. This penny seemed different - financials filed on time, no massive dilution, no repeated reverse splits etc...
Oh well - I guess I aint as smart as I thought I was.
NSD - I sure hope you are wrong because we already know about the quality of management!
"This is when the quality of management will make or break the company. "
Groundell funding is also coming soon. By the way when they mentioned at the meeting that the test would take place "after the holidays" did anyone ask if they meant the Bank holiday of Groundell yore?
>> He said that Ed told him there would be more info coming soon.
Not withstanding where the January date came from - ( think it was in a post from someone at the SM, but I am too lazy to try to find it) - one thing has become clear. For years Ed has led the shareholders to believe that interest from the hospital sector was so strong for Asepticsure that once we had all approvals in order sales would take off. A lot of us didn't quite buy that and I think it is now safe to say that he was 100% wrong.
I sent him 3 e-mails over the past 10 days with no response.
Are you saying you know the tests have not been done?
>> It is clear that there was no reasonable basis for management or the BOD to make the representation that tests of the AS system in a CA hospital would be initiated after the holidays
Share price doubles overnight.
>> What happens to MZEI
Go - Kevin is the recruiter that posted the article:
Kevin Carroll
Executive Search Consultant, Third Rock Ventures
>> and Kevin is the lawyer?
Go - I can only assume WIV was referring to this comment:
David Esposito
President and Chief Executive Officer at Armune BioScience
"Great points Kevin and thanks for taking the time to send them out."
WIV - Very thin indeed - Medizone wouldn't need a recruiter to get Esposito on board. Unless some hints were given at the meeting in this direction we are all getting rather desperate for change!
WIV - I see your point and hope you are correct. Either way I think it is going to be sometime before we see a significant % of hospitals adopting this.
I see the NIH is participating in a 2 year study of Xenex. Weren't there some rumors several years back about their interest in Asepticsure? (Or maybe it was the VA - can't recall.)
Some sobering thoughts - I took another quick look at Xenex. After all these years they are in < 400 hospitals. Not exactly a household name.
They have peer-reviewed studies over 15 months that show significant reductions in HAI's. If hospitals are truly so interested in reducing HAI's why aren't they jumping all over Xenex? Yes, its true Asepticsure is better, so what? It's not like they know Asepticsure is better and they are waiting for it - they probably don't even know it exists.
One the major advantages of Asepticsure is the bacteria don't come back, while with Xenex they come back after 5 days – how much does that matter in the real world? Xenex takes 5 minutes to clean a room and they can do it every night
I hope I’m wrong but looking at this objectively(which is hard to do after 17 years!) perhaps there is a reason, besides the lousy management, that this is a 10 cent stock.
As dysfunctional as this company has been and as hard as it is to put any sensible valuation on it I still didn't expect that we would be at 10 cents after EPA approval. Hard to believe.
WIV - More involvement from him bodes very well for Medizone. Both from an operations perspective and also it would make Medizone much more appealing to potential investors and companies interested in a buyout.
Hopefuly his involvement will become more obvious and public. I took it as a good sign that he spoke at the meeting.
WIV - I know you have been banging your head against a wall regarding this issue for 4-5 years now. Why hasn't Esposito, who has been on board for close to 3 years, been able to get something like this accomplished?
Huh? - I think he said just the opposite. He said if they sell machines they are limiting their upside to 10,000 machines over 10 years(In the US). I understood that he was advocating a service model, with the cost of service based on the savings the hospitals will realize.
>> I agree with whatsisvalues assertion that Medizone should sell machines and not be a service company.
WIV - That is great news. I was afraid they were going to need to prove a reduced incidence of HAI which could easily take 6 months to a year. Now it sounds like it will be a 1 - 2 week trial.
Did you get any feeling from anyone that Ed is really on the way out soon?
>> trial/demo in CA will be conducted with the hospital measuring before and after bacterial loads
Zeppo - I was thousands of miles away. If someone was impersonating me I hope he was tall, dark and handsome. Otherwise I will need to charge him royalty fees.
>> WIV, Surfski, MzeiToTheMoon, and I got acquainted, and that part of it was the most fun we had.
Surf - Thanks for posting your take on the meeting. I didn't expect much more from Ed - circumstances forced him to call the meeting and nothing leading up to the meeting led me to believe he would all of a sudden turn shareholder friendly. My main hope was that Esposito and Caponi would be different. Did they condone Ed's handling of the situation? Do they defer to him in all of these issues? If they do that doesn't bode well going forward(regarding these matters - not refering to the actual business prospects of Medizone).
NSD - Perhaps, but highly unlikely that the new board members etc would take such a risk. A more like scenario is that they "know" of possible sales or interest from established companies that in their mind makes it seem prudent to stay the course.
Not that that excuses the complete disregard for the common shareholder that management and the board showed last week.
>> There is only one answer. They have a secret deal.
Maybe all attendees are still in shock by the dazzling presentation Ed put on. More likely no one knows ihub is back up. Was I the only checking every 10 minutes this afternoon?
Hopefully this time he will come dressed business professional. I know it doesn't really matter anymore but it would be nice if they at least attempted to show some professionalism.
Surf:
What are the succession plans for after Ed's retirement. Even if Ed was Jack Welch (I apologize in advance to Jack for mentioning them both in the same sentence)he will still need to eventually be replaced after his retirement. Timing and are they grooming (LOL) someone to take his place?
Thanks
>>IF ANYONE HAS QUESTIONS THEY WANT ASKED / ANSWERED at the SLC meeting - POST THEM HERE.
Don't worry - My emotions will be right with me several thousand miles away from the meeting :) I was just saying considering the amount of angst involved with this stock it wouldn't surprise me if, unfortunately, some shareholders let off a bit of steam. Obviously it isn't in anyones best interest for that to happen.
Thanks. Hopefully we are past these issues of needing government approval.
Green - Interesting - it isn't approved for cruise ships. Was it you that seemed very interested in that as a possible source of revenue?
"AsepticSureTM Oxidative Catalyst is for use in hospitals, clinics, food industry, sporting
venues, and hotels to disinfect hard non-porous surfaces."
Sounds reasonable. Who is your group and how many shares do you represent?
You would think that Medizone would release some information about their plans post EPA approval before everyone votes. I guess they figure they have the votes they need to pass their resolutions.
Green - I read that to mean they need to trial it from a sales/marketing perspective, not regulatory. They need to prove it works before anyone will buy it. Of course that doesn't exactly jive with what they have been claiming for years - that they have hospitals that are desparate to buy it, but are just waiting for approval. So the saga continues ...
"WHY.............WHY............must they enter into a Brief Trial/Demonstration period to confirm replication of results?"
Thanks NSD. I've waited this long - I'm going to give him 2 more weeks to see if he can pull off the impossible. If he does hopefully he will ride off into the sunset on his own.
NSD/WIV - If the 75 year old proposal passes what does that mean regarding Marshall and his exit package? Would like to understand before I vote. Thanks
Didn't they "announce" 2 months ago that they could sell Asepticsure and they had hospitals lined up to start? Wouldn't that need to be disclosed in the 10Q if that was indeed the case. Are they allowed to keep such pertinent information quiet? Or was this another false hope in a long line of unfulfilled announcements?
