If he loses so do we. Like you, I believe that there is a fight going on behind the scenes for NOLS control between Mr. Big and FDIC. There is a bigger picture than just this play, how much will the outcome of this situation influence other similiar scenarios. If commons remain and receive benefit with NOLS intact will that set a precendence for others? I believe that it would and could be a financial windfall who recognize it in the early stages. I believe it was Hang Ten that posted recently info on Bank United that has billions in NOLS at stake, their fate may rest in our judges decision (or vice versa) of who owns the NOLS.
HT, the comment regarding differing points of view was an observation of other boards and not this one. A differing view should be a point of healthy debate, I have seen this occur on CORSQ. That has not been the case on many others. Instead it turns into personal bashing rather than an exchange of ideas.
Only 6 posts today, low volume. B2, from your keyboard to God's ears.
To All:
I was just thinking back on last year and remembering the anticipation coming up to the end of year with CORS, no Q at the time, and believing that it would come to a conclusion at that time. This is still my first and only penny play. It has been quite a ride thus far. I read several other boards daily, this is the best group as a whole. A couple seem to have solid DD but the posters are not open to differing points of view, I find that a weakness. I don't contribute many posts, as John Wayne would say I'm a "mighty cautious citizen". However, there is a strength in this group that allows for contrary points of view which adds depth to the conclusions reached. Regardless of how this ends, the work/values of those on this board will not be in question.
I have said my peace, thanks for reading.
Mikie, when you said that you would be going quiet for a while, you weren't kidding. I could use a boost of your BS sarcasm/insight. I hope all is well.
The most profitable option is #3 however the quickest ROI is #2. They may hold to the motto "pigs get fat but hogs get slaughtered". I believe that an agreement in Congress will happen before the end of the year but what if it doesn't? Option #3 could take you into next year, if the tax laws change the additional profits could be offest by increased tax liabilities. If the play works to their satisfaction, how many other opportunities may be out there? There were four new bank failures announced today.
See post 21096, Richboy1 states that he contacted CEO and that there will be merger news/update tomorrow. Good or bad, no one knows. In a previous PR, ICTY stated that news would be released regarding a merger the second week of November, that would be this week. My take, there will be news but it will be more of the same. The update will be....more news will be coming in the near future. I do hope that my gut is wrong, I much prefer a bull run.
What about "itsmikie" Minnaugh?
TD, it is the eom. From your contacts, will we hear anything today regarding the Yield sign? Did ICTY meet the disclosure requirements?
By the end of this month they were hoping to have the Yield sign removed.
Where did you see the "upgrade"? Been checking around, the only thing I find is the last PR.
USAF,
Approx. two weeks I saw it discussed that post R/M the rebranded company was seeking to upgrade to the AMEX. I have not been able to find anything that backed that discussion up. That is the last piece of the puzzle for me to jump in. Can you provide anything further?
I appreciate everyone's patience. So if I tried to get in tomorrow, not much out there. Anyway, several had posted about Bradly saying something of significance. Do you know what that might have been?
Somewher in the sky is there a .30, .50 or 1.00? Just trying to get a feel here and some perspective.
Got in on the tail end today, what did Bradly say? Also, .05 would be huge but what is the real possibility for this stock?
Do we have any idea on what the aquisition may be?
May I ask, new to reading your Board (began on Wednesday), what is the bad news on their PR from yesterday? Like I said, new visitor to the Board and new to trading as well. Only one under my belt.
I have seen it several times that Qsgi plans on switching to the NYSE/AMEX, I can't find that anywhere other than someone's statement. That would give some more credibility due to the share value minimums of the Exchange. I understand your frustration with the copy and paste replies, the responders were not reading your post. As far as the other goes, since I have only just begun in this it hasn't gotten under my skin as much. The other Board I read often is CORSQ, I actually have bought shares there. Smart folks, civilized discussion.
Robo,
It does sound odd to me, I seriously considered jumping in but have my doubts. The biggest Red Flag is that the CEO contacted the MOD. It may not mean anything but it doesn't sit well. If you are in M&A discussions why would you put that in jeopardy by discussing outside of the boardroom? The price surging and then dropping back is not as much as an issue because it still does have the Q, that plays on your mind or at least it plays on mine. I saw you on the other board, it's ruthless over there. There does not seem to be room for discussion. I am new to this, I work in a warehouse by trade, and I have visited many boards as a "student". By and large, the discourse on those boards have been pretty laid back. Questions, even my naive ones, answered and disagreements handled with little ruffling of the feathers. I still may jump in to QSGIQ however I find your questions valid.
Thank you to all who responded, obviously you are speaking to a novice. I still have not caught on to all of the subtleties.
Founder,
I sent to HDOG earlier however perhaps you can answer.
I have read the POR and the commons are kept in tact. Two billion shares will be issued at an aggregate value of $1 million. A 50:1 reverse stock split will then be administered at some point. If I buy 10,000 shares today it would cost me $1,800 or 0.18/share. 2 Billion shares will be issued for $1 million or .0005/share.
Like I said, there is something simple that I am missing.
Can someone help out an ol' warehouse guy from TX. New to this and all other investment strategies. Here is what I see but I need explanation to understand.

Only sitting on 20K, but I am looking to add a little more. Still not able to run with the Big Dogs.....other than the POR being published are there any more missing pieces to the puzzle?
Don't get me wrong, I am all for joining the Millionairs club at some point. Like most others, the last couple of years have been brutal. I am pleased with positive results...my mood then improves as the results do. Best to all....HS football tonight, College tomorrow...Go Nittany Lions.
What I find encouraging is that all scenarios that are being laid out are talking about positive $$, whether it is .80 or $9 +. Certainly one is more exciting to dream about however either way I won't get rich, only 20 K shares, but I will be better off than I was prior. This has been a wild ride, I can't wait to see how it ends.
It's a ghost number. No one buying/selling.
On June 15, CORS filed for CH11 BK. This was one of the scenarios laid out previously by the board and was left open as an option by MM. Refer back to post 4096 and 4105 for a bigger picture of the filing. Are we still in the game, you bet. I don't think that the odds have improved but they have not gotten worse either. MM's resignation from CORS took me by surprise however it was pointed out, and backed by a press release at his hiring, that he was a "temporary employee". There have been many good posts and DD since the filing. We are expecting a 10-K to be released any day, this was stated by MM prior to the announcement of his resignation which takes effect the end of day June 30. Merger still appears to be a valid scenario but there may be other factors that we are not aware of. To our benefit, the preservation of NOLS has been stated in court briefs to be a major concern of CORS in the filing. The preservation of NOLS requires the commons to remain in tact.
There is no trading activity on CORS or Q. I too would like to know the reason, is there a cooling off period after a BK filing where trading is not allowed?
You are correct, those are the numbers.....if you leave out the NOLS. CORS stated that they will be asking the judge to keep certain tax benefits intact.
You're getting no traction here VI.
I checked the Board at OSRC, Value Investor appears to be the main poster. My guess, she is putting in this post on many Boards to build interest, either to support her own position or being paid to support by some else.
There seems to be too much behind the scenes, as evident by the new accounting firm, for me to believe that it will take a year to unfold. Things take time, it may still be a month or two for a real direction to become apparent. If it's driving you nuts, cash out and don't lose sleep. As for me, this is my first experience in this area. I'm seeing it through to the end.
What happened today? The last couple of days no movement to speak of. Now the drop and VI taking pot shots. Can you fill me in.
Did not buy today. Only 20K
Who is VI?
In too deep to bail out as well. BK can take a couple of years, even if they go that direction we still could eke out some profit.
I read it, I see where it mentions the NOLS. Now what does it all mean? Are we in good shape, no change, torpedoed?
I have been reading all the posts for the past month, but I am new to game. I am looking for an education here, do you know for sure that MM is buying up all the stock he can or is it speculation? The reasoning used by most is very convincing. That is the one piece of the puzzle that I have not found yet? Like I said, I am looking for an education here so that I can make an informed decision.
