Hi can you please post the strategy you were using to find stocks like RIG. It will help us diagnose any issues. THanks
Noted. Will do. Thank you!
Cyborg's a great partner. That's good news! Please send an email to david@trade-ideas.com and brad@trade-ideas.com so we can reply about your collocation desires and custom architecture proposal.
Hi. I'm pretty sure we ignore this value, having tried modeling it just now. The reason? Remember its a ratio of number of puts to calls (if negative its the ratio of calls to puts).
So an integer like 2 means there are twice as many puts as calls in your universe of stocks.
There's never a meaningful case when that value is zero.

Hi. We don't want you to waste any money that you don't have to!
You're confusing latency with bandwidth. latency vs bandwidth - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=latency+vs+bandwidth&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)
Because of our server side (i.e. "cloud" or "thin client") architecture, you are insulated from most of the bandwidth issues. Bringing high bandwidth into your computer may be required for hulu, but you don't need it for our software. In fact, I travel a lot, and TI Pro gives me surprisingly good results even when I use my cell phone as a modem!
We also make the most of a network, regardless of the latency. TI Pro uses a push architecture to make sure the alerts get to you as quickly as possible, minimizing the effects of the latency in your network. When people say "cloud" they often mean HTTP, which would be far slower than what we offer.
As for the times that you are reporting, that's more than sufficient for any trading that is partially manual. If you're looking at a stock that we recommend, maybe pulling up a stock chart or a level 2, that time will be too small to notice. If you're working on arbitrage between two ECN's, lets us know and we'll talk colocation with you.
Thank you for the kind words!
I'm not sure why you were prevented from logging into the forum.
We strike a balance with what we offer as alerts and the ability to customize them further. But your request for a shorter RSI period is valid and I will log it in our development queue where it will get prioritized.
Thanks for the suggestion!
We put the clock speed it takes to deliver alerts to you as a constant reminder to you and us that we're in the business of realtime and speed is the coin of the realm.
I've seen speeds in the area of 8-16ms at some trading terminals around the country. I've also seen numbers in the range of 130+. The speed you see is indeed a function of your proximity to larger broadband pipes as well as your specific internet connection.
Hope that helps
To those interested in the upcoming MACDs please be patient. They'll be a useful addition to the existing Trade Ideas inventory (whether as alerts or filters) when they are released.
We appreciate all the feedback and insight into making these indicators the best they can be - it's all used as input.
We'll also look forward to the feedback we receive when they start getting used upon release.
THanks for the posts. We are looking at your setup in more detail - give me a bit more time to respond. Thanks
We do have standard deviation filters - it's our Volatility filters and they allow you to express movement/15 minute candle as a function of dollar amount or even % of price.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MinVWV
There may be some confusion regarding the filter, the filter doesn't allow you to set a SD value. Only the # of SDs away.
In other words not the size of the SD, but the number of SDs moved. Hope that helps
Well you didnt select any filters. Fortunately we have a filter that will model the behavior/pattern you seek.
Here's the strategy with the filter:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/View.php?O=8000000000000000000000000_c0_0&MinGUD=1&WN=Gap+$1+Ticker
Take a look at the inventory of additional filters in the Help section: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html
You are on the right track.
You can use the Position in Range filters which use a percentage (percentile actually) to place the stock at a certain place in its daily range.
You could also use the Below High filters which use a dollar amount below the High or Above the Low to place the stock.
Here's an example of the Below High filter using your Short strategy (flip it to see the opposite (Long) side:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/View.php?O=20000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000_40_0&QRUN=0.09&MaxPrice=20&MinBelowHigh=.01&MaxBelowHigh=.20&WN=MOD:+running+up+using+Below+High+Filters
Here's the same Short strategy with the Position in Range filters:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/View.php?O=20000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000_40_0&QRUN=0.09&MaxPrice=20&MinRD=96&WN=MOD:+running+up+using+Position+in+Range+filter
Let me know if that helps
Thanks for clarifying this linking issue - we'll take a look at WIN 7
Let's see the strategy you are using with the BT filters. Maybe there's something I can tweak for you. Let me know!
Check out the help definition for this filter regarding standard deviation: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MinBB
Let's look at what you're calling bad ticks. Any specific information you can provide would be helpful in understanding your strategy (what you are looking at) and the time of the bad ticks in particular stocks.
You can send this to info@trade-ideas.com or post it here
Here's the help. It's a video from this page of all our video tutorials:

Just as I write my last post, BAM!
Added new intraday Bollinger Band filters: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MinBoll5
Won't say when then others are coming ;)
Yes, well things have their own timetable sometimes. Leaning out and teasing you with what's coming -especially when its coming - I'm realizing only makes me look bad. I am telling myself not to do this anymore. But rest assured - they are on their way.
Sorry to not be more definitive. I will just sit tight in the future!
Keep in mind a powerful filter we already have but you may not be familiar with: The Max Distance from the Inside Market filter.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MaxDNbbo
The successful robot traders say that this is an essential. Whether it's caused by a strange print on an ECN, or anything else, this will filter out unrealistic prints.
I usually use a value of 0.15 in the Max Distance filter. You'll be pleased with what it keeps out.
Great suggestion. Glad that you were able to see what we were reporting. I'll add this to the Development queue and make sure it gets prioritized. Thanks for the feedback.
D
Funny - we were just thinking about this. Thanks for the suggestion. We will discuss it.
1: Inside Trade-Ideas PRO you can use the Group & Sort By feature when you right click in a strategy window. It's in section 3 of the Product Guide:
http://static.trade-ideas.com/TIPro/Trade-Ideas_Pro_User_Guide.doc
2: Take a look at an alternate tool that allows you to sort based on the criteria you describe in your request: Trade-Ideas Lite
http://www.trade-ideas.com/ForDevelopers/TradeIdeasLite/
This might be exactly what you are looking for
I don't have an answer for your situation. Looking at the history for "10 to 1 Call/Put Ratio and Heading Higher" http://www.trade-ideas.com/GettingStarted.html?name=10+to+1+Call/Put+Ratio+and+Heading+Higher&list_name=MAIN
Yesterday it reported over 3000+ signals throughout the day.

As a former subscriber from about 2+ years ago, I'd be happy to schedule a 1 on 1 training session with you and our Director of Trading Education, Jamie Hodge, to get you up to speed on all the new indicators we've added since your last login. Come on back!
Not a bad idea. I'll note it in the Suggestion box and put it in our Development queue. I like it.
I'll check on it and reply back.
Remember you have a min filter of $0.29 in your Running down now alert. You may also want to check the history of this strategy if you just used the Heartbeat alert.
In fact here's a new tool that will help you figure out why you missed certain stocks you thought you would see. Check out our Stocks Like This tool which displays all the alerts and filter settings that are servers used to track any stock on the exchanges.
I've put in KEG.UN.CAT from today's data as an example:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/_StocksLikeThis.html?symbol=keg.un.cat&start_date=1264579200&start_hours=9&start_minutes=30&time=5
As you can see, it only triggered 2 alerts today - neither was the alert you selected for your strategy.
I would have to know what your settings were for the respective filters before explaining the lack of alerts in the strategies you created.
Looking at our preconfigured strategy called, Mammoth Option Volume, and its History of alerts for today, I count 18 alerts that were generated. Lots of $ARUN and $RCII.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/GettingStarted.html?name=Mammoth+Options+Volume+10+x+Normal&list_name=MAIN
There have been no data issues. Post your strategy in the reply.
Thanks
There's a long, technical, and confidential reason that the MACD indicators cannot be shared (yet) as a beta with subscribers. It's tied to a larger data project that will even further improve how fast we process and deliver alerts.
That said, when we do get to seomthing we can share, I promise to post it here first. I can't estimate when that will be. I will give everyone here an update in 2 wks.
Thanks
MACD indicators are coming - we are testing these but do not have a firm timeline for releasing them as they are tied to a larger data project underway. You'll hear about their release here first so stay tuned.
Thanks BTW for joining and welcome.
You can currently use the proxies we've long had for people who wanted to see MACD activity. We call them our Running Up/Down alerts in various timeframes: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#RUN
As for the EMAs, I'll make a note of the request in our suggestion queue. Thanks again.
As of today they are still plans. I will certainly log the suggestion and pass it along to Scottrade. Thank you for the feedback.
Can you describe what you mean by 'tracking' in more detail?
Thanks
iPhone app: http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/_iPhoneStockScreenerHelp.html
If you are referring to the ability to monitor automated trades away from your computer and on the iPhone, we have plans for that but no timetable yet. Mainly because of larger projects currently in the works. But it is coming.
Audible alerts via ST ELITE is something you'll have to suggest to ST directly. Sound is one of the areas outside the parameters within which Trade-Ideas operates inside ST ELITE. The standalone version of Trade-Ideas (TI PRO) does have sound capabilities in the Alert Window Actions menu under Tools > Options.
As far as the Parabolic SAR alerts, we've noted it in our Development Queue. These items get shuffled and re prioritized based on a number factors including how many customers ask for it and its level of difficulty (or ease).
Thanks for the feedback.
No problem. PARD on 1-22-10 and stocks like it can be found be starting here:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/WhatsNew.html
and selecting the 'Stocks like this' tool we just created:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/_StocksLikeThis.html?symbol=PARD&start_date=1264147200&start_hours=9&start_minutes=30&time=5
What you see is how our servers evaluated PARD on the day you requested. Simply choose the alerts and filters that you want to replicate for others stocks by putting a check in the box next to them. Note: you may have to go to the Configure screen in the next step and remove a MAX or MIN value depending on how you want to define your universe.
Here is what I choose from the list to make a strategy appropriately called, 'Stocks Like PARD': http://www.trade-ideas.com/View.php?O=8000000000000000000000000_3dd_0&MinPrice=2.19&MinVol=2501628&MinATR=0.13&MinGUP=2.3&MinU5DD=0.12&MinRPD=100.0&MinBoll=87.2&WN=Stocks+Like+PARD
Good luck!
FILTERS to find stocks currently running up or down will look at the most recent intraday movements prior to the trigger or heartbeat alert. Some suggestions:
MIN/MAX 5,10,15,30 Min Up Candles: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MinUp5
MIN/MAX Up 5,10,15,30 Min in $$ or %: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MinDUp5
Position in Range: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MinRD
8 above 20 Period SMA (2,5,15 Min): http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_Min2Sma8a20
Combinations of a few of these filters or just one will allow you to model many different strategies for finding stocks that run up or down. Don't forget how easy it is to see the reverse side of what you are modeling with our FLIP feature.

Try looking for strategies to use on our blog:
Example strategy http://marketmovers.blogspot.com/2009/03/zag-vs-zig-on-relative-strength-this.html
You can also find strategy discussions right here in the support forum
Good question. Let's list in one place the ways we explain what the heartbeat alert does. It's the alert that automatically gets selected when you don't pick any alerts and just want to filter the universe. It works to simply inform you what stocks meet the filter conditions you set.
Definition: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#alert_filter_HB
Blog post describing the heartbeat alert and featuring a strategy that uses it: http://marketmovers.blogspot.com/2009/03/zag-vs-zig-on-relative-strength-this.html
So the reason you receive more alerts with your filters and the heartbeat alert is because its finding all the stocks that meet the filter conditions only.
Once you add an alert other than the heartbeat (i.e., New 30 day High) it limits the stocks that meet the filter further by having to trigger the 30 day High alert.
Hope this helps!

New improvement: you can now put a check in the box next to the filters you want to copy over into the new strategy. Easy! http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/_StocksLikeThis.html
If using Pro use the Collaborate feature to import the new strategy
Previous Day's Range: http://www.trade-ideas.com/Help.html#WSF_MinRPD
Let's you place where stocks are today depending on where they were yesterday.
Enter 110% in the Min and you'll only see stocks today that are at least 10% above yesterday's high
