Sometimes I forget you are basically still an embryo... ;)
I just wish NinjaTrader worked with Etrade. I really like the break even rules and stop loss rules you can set up.
That's good to hear. I managed to pick up some more CDIV this afternoon. Plenty of dry powder to go back for more. Just waiting for the MMs next move. I figure I'll be getting either half as many of twice as many shares as I did today. Either way I'll be happy.
I'm just trying to data mine the charts at the end of the day right now. Trying to develop a reliable strategy that will allow me to use stops as I'm often pulled away in the middle of a juicy trade.
It's like watching the Harlem Globe Trotters. At first it's entertaining. But after a while you just start to feel bad for the Generals.
Don't worry darling, he has his place and everyone but him knows where it is. But he'll find his way back though primal instinct.
Thanks Don, that more or less backs up what I said.
We have a great team here. Some many people willing to go the extra mile for everyone's benefit. Thanks for pulling this info together.
Been so busy with W, I haven't been able to post or trade recently. I'm working on a strategy to get back to trading. It's killing me to have to watch these great runs.
LOL... not a bad idea. We should hand out decoder rings.
Believe me, responding to him and his ilk doesn't raise my blood pressure one bit. But for the benefit of the Den family, I'll do my best to ignore them.
Thanks for providing absolutely nothing in your reply. Rather telling I would say.
I'm not disagreeing at the importance of sharing feeling and getting comfort from your fellow team members. But this is a public forum where friend and foe alike can get inside your head for both good and malicious reasons.
There's a reason that all communications during World War II were heavily encrypted. There's a reason that both sides dedicated so much time and resources to cracking the codes. And there's a reason that the Allies gained a huge advantage when we began to crack the German and Japanese codes.
On the brightside. As I mentioned before, the majority of holders are not swayed by this downtrend. The vast majority of the shares are in strong hands. Let's hope the MMs read the board last night and came to the conclusion they are winning. Their confidence and arrogance will be their undoing.
Did you do a volume comparison? I have not counted the exact amount, but it sure looks like the volume on this down turn is a lot lower than the volume as it was rising. So... What are people doing selling 1/2 their shares? 1/3 their shares? Are the air shares disapating on their own? Please explain?
So do you find it coincidental that after last night's posts CDIV gets hammered today? Do you find it unusual that despite the amount of buying today the stock went down significantly?
This is not a private meeting place where only friends are invited. What happen last night was equivalent to letting reporters attend AA meetings. This is not a backyard BBQ at this point. It really and honestly is a war.
There might be 1 in 100 that are actually concerned. But if those that are not concerned are quiet and the 1% that are concerned have a public discussion, it gives the perception that their are kinks in the teams armor. There ceratinly isn't, but perception is reality. The MMs don't need the encouragement. Although I welcome them to think they've broken our spirit.
If people need comfort, I suggest we exchange emails or something. Please stop handing your enemy the keys to your mental state of mind.
Thanks BillyJack. I'm glad someone read my post. lol
Finally someone who gets it. I was completely miffed at some of the posts I read from yesterday. I understand that there are some frustrated people. I understand that they cannot utilize PMs to get the comfort that they need. But what I don't understand is why people do not understand what we are up against here. This is a psychological war. One in which we are airing our concerns in a public forum where the enemy can read. One in which the enemy can talk in seclusion without giving us any direct confirmation of how they feel. Make no mistake people, this board is under observation 24/7. Also make no mistake that while there are some that are concerned, there are a lot more that are not and are keeping quiet. Let the MMs and hedgies guess how we're feeling. Let them guess our strength... or weakness. But don't hand them a damned thing. Let them find out the hard way.
With that, I'd like to share a couple quotes from one of the greatest war strategists that has ever lived... Sun Tzu
"In making tactical dispositions, the highest pitch you can attain is to conceal them."
"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him."
"It is only one who is thoroughly acquainted with the evils of war that can thoroughly understand the profitable way of carrying it on."
"To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting."
"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."
"The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him."
"Hence that general is skillful in attack whose opponent does not know what to defend; and he is skillful in defense whose opponent does not know what to attack."
Did you get your paycheck today or something?
You do know they need millions of shares to cover right. Tens of millions actually. So... how they gonna do that with only 160K shares traded?
I'll give you a hint... it takes 62.5 160K days to cover 10M. So even if every share bought today was them covering, they have nearly 3 months of trading days just to cover 10M. I think it's well established that they have a bit more than 10M to cover. I also think it's highly unlikely they are the only ones buying.
This blows my mind at this is happening.
Not once has anyone told or asked me to buy any of the FLDs. Not once has anyone asked or begged me not to sell any of the FLDs. I have met face to face with a lot of my fellow Densters and nothing even remotely close to that has come up in conversation.
Sounds like some serious desperation going on right there. It's amazing the levels they are willing to go to to try to shake us up. Someone definitely got caught with there pants down. Bad news team shorty... None of us is scared of you.
Yes, shock can be a lot of fun for the whole family.
lol... That one looks a lot happier. But, I'm not sure "happy" is the term I'm looking for here.
I'll have to try that when I go to the beach in a month.
It's just a funny contrast. Looks incredible there and you look like you're about to punch someone. It's all good though. They'll probably think twice before disturbing your snorkeling area... lol
Aren't you at the beach in Hawaii?
WHY SO SERIOUS?!
You're 100% correct. This is exactly why every last executive of Porsche has been locked up for quietly buying up all those shares of Volkswagen and causing that historic short squeeze. To tell you the truth, the should be going after that Warren Buffet guy... That SOB does nothing but accumulate and hold. The man is a professional conman and thief in my opinion..
OK, enough joking. Arvitar this has gotten a bit old. It is not illegal for investors to buy and hold stock, and that is EXACTLY what is going on here. The only thing illegal that is happening is the MMs shorting shares that do not exist in effort to drive down the price. You sure are barking quite loud now adays. I for one appreciate it,as I've been able to double my holding. Feel free to keep it up, as I'm planning on selling some of my other investments so I can double up again.
This is exactly what I was talking about before. Once it's understood that a short squeeze has to happen, the MMs next goal is to lower the price at which people are willing to bail. This post is a perfect demonstration of the tactic they are trying to apply. Break people's spirit and get them to the point that they simply want out.
I have bad news for the MMs though. They haven't convinced nearly enough of us to have it make a difference.
Only a partial fill for me (10000) must be overwhelming selling right?
Thanks for the cheapies. Hopefully they'll come back and give me some more.
It's actually kind of funny. I'm getting more out of those exchanges than I am out of your posts. Is there a reason you wandered over here?
But that's what you're here to do right? Comfort those that bought in already? I mean, after all, it wasn't but a couple months ago that you yourself were just a "curious" investor looking to see if the FLDs were something you wanted to get involved in. Now look at you... A full fledged savior here to save everyone from these "bad" investments.
If I didn't know better, I'd say early on you were trying to win the trust of your fellow "investors" while trying to mine as much useful social data as you could. Why would anyone want to do something like that?
I can't even begin to touch the 1s right now. I've been having a much less stressful time using the 5s and some bracketed target/stop orders. I just maintain them from time to time. If I could do this full time it would be different. But the 5s seem a lot safer given the distractions of my J right now.
Were they still moving in full penny increments?
I've actually been looking at trading the Ts 5s while at work. I've been liking their signals a bit more than the Fs lately. I'm going to do a little back testing tonight to see what I come up with.
Let me know when you are selling... I'll buy them from you so you no longer need to be concerned.
Does anyone know if etrade still has that web form that allows you to set up 1 click orders? They used to have one that had like 8-10 lines of orders you could put in.
Unfortunately, I'm right there with ya bro...
Couldn't get the 866 number to go through...
Actually, I think he is someone that hoped on a bike without knowing how to ride one. Didn't listen to anyone who was trying to help him ride one. Fell off and now screams at people that ride past him on bikes telling them how stupid they are and how bad they're going to get hurt when they fall off (because you know... it's a given </sarcasm>)
Of course I have an agenda. I'm here to make money and support my family. Both the one at home and the one I have met on several occasions and every day on this board. The key to playing the FLDs is in understanding what is happening. There are some outstanding posts out there already, so I won't waste my time rehashing them. Most have been linked in the iBox or stickied on the appropriate message board.
I personally bought on the way up and have bought on the way down. I have to admit, it had been uncomfortable at times to average down. As a successful trader, I have a rule against doing this. But in my research and observation of how these plays set up, I realized that it is more or less necessary to do so. These are not momentum or swing trades. They are not fundamental plays or chart plays. They are a different creature all together. Trying to apply traditional rules would likely cause you to take small losses over and over again before missing the big move. The strategy I've adopted instead is to buy what I can afford with money I can afford to lose and hold regardless of the games that are played.
And as far as responding to you. I stated "we" do not have time for this. Many likely put you on ignore or are simply glossing past your posts. I would normally do the same, but every once and a while, I like to engage posters like you. I don't like people pissing on my porch and rather then wait for the rain to wash it away, I sometimes like to rub their noses in it.
As far as the team is concerned, there is no "ship to right". I'm not pumping any of the plays. I'm not freaking out over any real or paper losses. I'm not beating my chest over any real or paper gains. And I'm certainly not telling others what to do with THEIR money. If a question is asked that I feel I can answer truthfully and accurately, I will. Otherwise I'll ignore it or defer to someone better equipped than myself.
I just find it funny how dedicated you are to showing up here time and again to save us from ourselves. But unlike you, I have met many of these people face to face. I know what they look like and know what their personal stories are. I've shared in their joys and sorrows. I will share hugs and handshakes with them again and again. And I will be there to share our success and failures. Where will you be?
Today looks like it was a rough day for the 5s. I'm not even trading right now because of the J.. I might start trying to scalp 1-2 quick trades in the morning and afternoon. But not having access to good trading tools makes me nervous about doing that.
It's beautiful isn't it? It's like they're handing out bullets at their own execution. I guess they want to make sure we do the job.
In their defense, they do the same thing every single day. And every single day, their tactics work. When they enounter a behavior that is unknown or unexpected, it gives them pause, but they expect that it's just an anamoly. They'll learn. And the pain they endure will be so much more than what we have suffered.
You are giving yourself WAY too much credit Duke...
No one on this board sees you or any other poster as a threat. We simply see people that are or are not worth our time. You've demonstrated on many occasions to be set in your opinion. If you haven't noticed it by now, regurgitating the same bile over and over again is not going to have any effect on us.
And you are once again confusing having the RIGHT to post with having the RIGHT to be recognized as someone worth conversing with. None of us has an obligation to treat your opinions as anything more than a bunch of hot air. But you are entitled to your opinion, so feel free to keep hitting Ctrl-C.
I find your recommendation most amusing. You see, I am focused on our plays and our team. I'm involved in both. You on the other hand don't seem to have any affiliation with either. Perhaps it is YOU that should worry about focusing on things near and dear to you.
There is not a single FLD "in trouble" right now. There is post after post after post that predicted everything that has come to pass so far. The most amusing hypocrisy in your post is stating that we are most concerned with "bashers" and "crooked MMs" when the FLDs are in "trouble". Given that these persons seem to be a lot more active when the stocks are in "trouble" (illusion), I can certainly see why there would be more vigilance in defending the stock from the INCREASED attack. We are farming these 4 FLDs; tending them on a day to day basis, waiting to reap the harvest. When the crows and locusts descend, we arm ourselves and defend.
