Stow, is the horse property zoned for your manufacturing/warehouseing operation? I hear things are wild in Sacramento real estate both commercial and residential.
Going to the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee?
I was a little late to the uranium party so i don't own a mountain, just a little piece. :) I am a little underwater on my latest position. Its been a fun ride.
Thanks and good luck with the golds.
Basserdan, I know you don't focus on uranium, but I was wondering if you knew why this Saks guy was bullish on the metal yet is shorting the producers. (from the article you posted that I am replying to) Thanks.
I wonder if those fuzzy boots the playmate was wearing were Uggs? LOL
Zeev, still in SLXP? It is having a nice pop today.
Thanks cy, thinking of getting in myself.
cy esp, what do you think of ERF here for a buy?
So hold does mean SELL! If you follow this guy's logic - 5 month return of 21% when you are holding the stock from December's $60.36 to today's $47.45. Right.
I don't mind reading the Ron Paul stuff either. You can always skip it Simple. Not sure why you are so heated about this. Usually it just takes up one post. I suspect the no politics is to keep a bunch of off topic posts from clogging the board.
You are too funny!
They left out the part about this 'tax protestor's" high-speed chase on I5, or was it a slow speed chase? Things are slower up here.
OT What are you building Stow?
Did you check the UGG website that girlfriend listed?
OK, not a review - your observations. Thanks all the same.
Thanks girlfriend! Zeev, did you catch her "review" on Deck?
Uggs have traveled to the mass market going from hip to trendy. I see middle-aged women in them, so maybe another season and other than slippers, the Ugg thing appears done. We should ask girlfriend, she has hip clothing stores.
Thanks Fred!
Fred, what are your thoughts on EASI these days?
Interesting. I believe all the appraisers in my neck of the woods are independents. The banks up here closed their real estate appraisal departments long ago. But you are right, the appraisers who don't come in at the contract price typically are no longer hired. Also, some banks are placing more weight on automated pricing models. A big mistake in my book.
Newly, the business for appraisers is to value, not to make loans. And, as I am sure you know as you have alluded to it, there are different definations of market value, but most focus on "willing buyer and willing seller". There is a lot of pressure, especially on the residential appraisers to make pre-determined values. It is the bad appraiser that does this, not the norm. Since appraisers look to the market for indications of value, they typically lag market trend changes. When the market starts turning south, they still have "comps" that show otherwise. It is the exceptional appraiser that can pick up other nuances in the market and adjust accordingly.
Paul, it seems to me that you bite your own ankles. Why add to your angst?
Thanks again, Zeev. The DNA is now gone. I hope to buy back lower. Maybe I'll get lucky again.
AD, Mostly asleep at the wheel (wasn't around for the nice pop), but then the greed kicked in. Still will be a nice profit.
Hi Zeev, Any thoughts on DNA? I should have sold two days ago but didn't. Its slowly deflating. I was hoping for a little more interest but I guess the weak market hasn't helped.
Thank you!
Zeev, drug companies portray themselves as being a cost effective health care provider -- for example preventing more expensive procedures. Not sure if this is true or not, but it seems plausible to me. So if we are going to try to bring down the health care costs from the 15% number you cite, then pharma appears to be the answer (outside of good ol' preventative care).
Zeev, any thoughts on JCOM? Its slowly been climbing up. I don't think you have played it in awhile. Waiting for a pullback?
LOL, that's a good one!
OT It was amusing, not fabulous. Gene Hackman (popular ex president), Ray Romano (town plumber) both run for town mayor. I thought after the movie they could have done more for some of the other characters like Hackman's ex-wife (Christine Baranski). I don't watch many movies.
Maine, I feel your pain as I own BIIB. Oy
By the way, saw a DVD this weekend called "Welcome to Mooseport". The female lead is named Sally. Perhaps you are familiar with it as it was released in 2003.
Thanks, Do you still follow PNRA?
Wow, that is one that I am glad I hung on to! Nice for a change. Thanks for the encouragement. Wish I had more. (Is that greedy of me?) I was looking for a pullback to get more, but I am not watching that closely.
She's cautious, the long term success rates for presbyopia aren't the best.
Presbyopia is farsightedness that occurs when the eyes age. Reading glasses are the "cure". My understanding is that attempts to correct via surgery have not been successful. (I was at my eye dr yesterday and that is what she told me.)
Hi Zeev, Is OSIP a swing trade for you, or are you looking for just a bucker? Thanks.
Your covered calls sound like a good idea.
I sold my TBL this am a little under 72.5. I am happy.
Thanks Zeev. A wild OB sounds like a great idea.
Thanks, Zeev, for your thoughts on TBL. Although I don't read charts yet, I anticipated your response and it feels good to be on the same wavelength.
I entered a small position into GIVN at 33.27 at the end of Jan and have been looking to add lower.
Curious, do you have any thoughts on DNA these days? I drive by their facility in Vacaville, CA on occasion and always remember the regret I felt for missing that huge gap up awhile back. The stock has been knocked down a bit and I wonder if I bought it would I really "want it". :) Perhaps after more of a correction?
Zeev, I have successfully crossed into long term with TBL. It doesn't look like it has been doing much lately, and I am doubting if it can reach a new high prior to your anticipated downtrend. Any thoughts on TBL for the next week or so? Am I being greedy?
Thanks for your list of favs, CY. I'll keep my CCJ for now and look to add if not more of that, something new.
