MIMV....no vol...but new super platform coming in nov 6 and that's MIMVI Echo(search) and SmashNetworks(social media) combine.
this news of facebook in need of SEARCH engine came from CEO Z last week but monday downgrade of FB stock and lose of 10% should validate MIMV potential take over by FB makes a lot of sense.all I can guess buyout of MIMV could speed up FB to achive facebook own search engine.
Billionaire entreprenuer Mark Zuckerberg has finally started giving some strong hints and an announcement about the real Google killer: an eventual Facebook (FB) search engine. According to Zuckerberg, per TechCrunch:http://seekingalpha.com/article/863711-facebook-search-engine-the-death-of-google
Facebook Owner Mark Zuckerberg Seriously Considering Facebook Search Engine
MENAFN Press - 23/09/2012
MENAFN Press) (EMAILWIRE.COM, September 23, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA- Mark Zuckerberg announced that he wants Facebook to have a search engine feature in it. In the vein of competition with Google, Zuckerberg's announcement makes Facebook a full experience and not just a social networking site.
Greenlight Digital created a survey from 500 people from diverse backgrounds and walks of life. The survey was intended to see if people were interested in a Facebook search engine and would use it over the more popular brands like Google or Bing. Only 5% said definitely, with 26% saying no.
500 people does not compare to the massive number of users on Facebook, and thus the study is a small-scale of what this search engine could really harness in terms of power in the technological community.
Still, one cannot predict the success of a feature like this, as it was the case with Google Plus, in which few foresaw success. Even so, 5% of the billions on Facebook is not a small number to consider if the study is a direct reflection of what this search usability could be.
Andreas Pouros, Greenlight's COO, comments, It wouldn't need to be a spectacular engine either, just well integrated into the Facebook experience and generally competent. This 22% market share would make Facebook the second most utilised search engine in every major market except for China, Japan, and Russia, where it would occupy an uncontested third place.
Regardless of the hard numbers, Facebook's endeavors would likely find success out of sheer strength in numbers of users. One will have to wait and see to what extent these success and strength would tie in with the site's popularity
Would You Like Facebook As a Search Engine?
posted on September 24, 2012
Facebook is saving your searches in your activity log.
It was announced by Facebook on Friday
Starting today, in addition to your other activity, you’ll be able to see the searches you’re making on Facebook. Just as you can choose to delete any of your posts, you can use the same inline control on Activity Log to remove any of your searches at any time. It’s important to remember that no one else can see your Activity Log, including your search activity.
What’s interesting is how Facebook positions this. They are saying that you can remove your searches. Translation: We have been tracking your searches for a while now ad before we get jammed again for abusing your privacy we are going to put out this preemptive strike.
Of course, I am speculating here a bit but it makes sense. Someone at the company probably decided that since Mark Zuckerberg intimated that Facebook would be a search engine one day that it would be good to get out in front of this one. Hopefully we are not naive enough to think that Facebook hasn’t been tracking and saving our search activity for quite some time now.
They track everything. Always have and always will. What is a sure fire sign that they are busy doing something they probably would get beat up about regarding privacy? It’s when Facebook proactively says something about their activity at all. They are not known for their forthrightness with anything they do and when they try to appear to be acting in their users best interests, that’s the time to start looking over your shoulder.
Oh and that line about no one seing your activity but you? That’s rich. What about the folks at Facebook? Can they see it and use it to their advantage? Hmmmmmmmmm.
So, would you like Facebook to be a search engine? Let us know
mil $$ question?facebook needs SEARCH and MIMV possible #1 candidate on facebook list for buyout.facebook CEO did mention he build a team for SEARCH and these twine guys says as well.
Winklevoss Twins’ Advice for Zuckerberg: Facebook Should Be More Like Google
AT: You're running a social network now. Do you have any thoughts on what Facebook could be doing different, better, where they went wrong?
Divya Narendra: I think one of their issues has really been a PR issue. I think that it's very important that you communicate with your investors and in their case I think they certainly air on the side of secrecy more than transparency on how they plan on evolving. Maybe that's changing a little bit, we saw Mark speak at TechCrunch Disrupt recently; it obviously had a very significant impact on the stock price. It was great for the stock. And so I think probably more of that, more transparency on how they actually plan on evolving. Their mobile strategy, he obviously mentioned ********************search********************, that was another big topic of discussion. And certainly after that speech people are wondering what that means for their bottom line. But communicating well, I think, is a big piece of the overall impression that's left on investors

Mimvi (MIMV.OB) has been called the "Google of mobile search platforms." Its search engine has become a leading platform for providing search services for Mobile Apps, Mobile Content, and Mobile Products across all platforms including iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows devices. Mimvi offers Amazon-like recommendations under each search result it presents. Mimvi's recent acquisition of Lone Wolf Inc. and its Smash Networks (which claims to have an online community of 79 million) are expected to extend the company's reach into social networks and change how mobile apps are marketed.
The newly combined entity is developing Mimvi Echo, a new mobile app discovery service, scheduled for launch in October, which is designed to make the process of marketing mobile apps affordable and effective for the growing community of developers. Mimvi expects to leverage Lone Wolf's social media reach and community to provide mobile users with targeted marketing campaigns, creating a win for both developers and consumers alike. The company describes its efforts as creating a "Super Platform" designed to combine consumer data driven app development, marketing, lead generation and cultivation, content creation, publishing and syndication under one roof.
