Now poor Waitedg isn't supposed to buy at the best price he can get. Amazing.
Raf, IMO file this one in the "Biggie Name" folder along with Honeywell, HQ, DOE, Haliburton, AGES. The only guarantee here is continuing SH'er paid vacations to the Far East. I doubt we will ever see any "market study" results in print. Stay on "Watch List" for now, market not impressed. The Japanese are famous for smiling and nodding yes and doing nothing for foreigners. I still think the North American market should be quite adeguate for a "startup" with a product that works well. Just think how much local marketing could be accomplished here with all that Far East trip money. Very sad.
Did Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding order a KDS for demonstation/testing? Should be pocket change for those guys!
Gee whiz, so many here with handicaps of some kind! Are all missing body parts? You guys be careful!
"a feasibility study into the marketability"...why don't they have someone do that in North America?
Sometimes You Gotta Laugh
There sure are a lot of things to be stressed-out about. Pressures
in the workplace, in the home and even in areas that are supposed
to be leisure experiences. Sometimes all the pressure can seem
overwhelming. What can you do about it? Well, try laughing more!
Many people remember Dan Jansen, 1994 Winter Olympic gold
medalist. He wanted to succeed in his quest for achievement, so he
did the things that are normally associated with excelling sports
performance. But sometimes doing what normally works isn't
enough. For Jansen, that meant consulting sports psychologist,
James Loehr.
Armed with the knowledge that humor relaxes and relieves stress,
Dr. Loehr recommended that Jansen loosen-up and laugh more.
Research from the University of Colorado reveals that when we
laugh, our brain releases chemicals that have pain-reduction
benefits. Laughter also promotes healing. During periods of intense
stress and fearfulness, another chemical works to block the healing
chemicals, and thus, we become more prone to long-term illness.
Dr. Norman Cousins, an editor many years ago for the noted
Saturday Review, was struck with a disease that doctors had no
cure for. It was the early 1960's, and it seemed that a sentence of
death had been given to him. Dr. Cousin's however, understood the
effects of negative emotions on the human body and reasoned that
positive emotions could have a healing quality. He set out on a
grand experiment that consisted of watching hours of Marx Brother
movies and "Candid Camera" reruns.
He learned about his disease and he learned to laugh. He wrote
about his experiences in his book, Anatomy of An Illness As
Perceived By the Patient. One of the things he discovered that
benefited him was that a ten minute belly laugh could give him two
hours of painless sleep. No small gain for someone in pain!
Another interesting finding that's recently been discovered is that
children laugh an average of 400 times a day, whereas adults laugh
only 15 times a day! Apparently, life knocks the fun out of us as we
grow older.
The bright side of life, the essence of humor in every situation, has
the ability to take the string out of stressful experiences. So, we
need to laugh more.
We take life so seriously because of the circumstances and events
that come into our path; our feelings are errant guides to surviving
those hard moments. We must lighten up and look at life with
humor. It takes a willful choice. Some will find it easier than others,
but all of us can do it.
I remember so well the day President Ronald Reagan was shot by a
would-be assassin. I was holding a funeral in a small town in east-
central Indiana. The television happened to be on in the funeral
director's office and there, replayed for our eyes, was the tragic
event. What stood out most to me, as I later digested the many
details of the shooting, was the President's humorous attitude as he
was being wheeled into the emergency room, and then on into
surgery. It is reported that the President looked up at the doctors
that were scurrying to give him care, and said, "I hope all of you
are Republicans!" While I don't discount the skillful medical expertise
of the doctors attending to Mr. Reagan. I can't help but believe
that it was his attitude that had the decisive role in his recovery.
When you're stressed-out and feeling overwhelmed, try laughing out
loud. It won't make your problems go away, you'll just be able to
weather them better. Refuse the rule of circumstances and
embrace the lighter side. Hugh Downs made the point well when he
said, "A happy person is not a person in a certain set of
circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes."

beischens, I just hope I don't get a call from the SEC about "insider info"!! LOL!
.....and HQ and DOE will throw another $10 million in the pot.
Raf, don't tease the sheep, you'll wind up in jail again!
Raf, WHEN you win, I think I'll copy your bet post in all my posts. You know, like someone use to list all the pending deals. LOL!
I4C6S, good points, but there must be some reason the KDS isn't being utilized. Is it the moisture content of the feed material? If it varies a lot, does that screw up the KDS for continuous operation? Disposal of the waste water from the KDS? In a heat-type drier I think the water vapor is fairly inocuous when condensed. Maybe it just that the KDS does not have enough operational history to answer all the customer questions. Plus in an operation of that size, I'm sure the proven history of the equipment suppliers is an important consideration if only from a liability standpoint.
I4C6S, 500 HP motor? And you would replace with 6 KDS's with minimum 250 HP motors? 1500 HP? Maybe you just figured out why the KDS isn't selling like hotcakes! LOL!
TRCPA, You are probably right, it wouldn't show up on HAL's filings if an advance for product, but I just don't think a company like HAL operates like that especially with two minor companies in a JV. I won't even loan them a couple hundred $$$ by buying shares at this point! LOL! I would bet you $10 though, that HAL did not pay in advance since that would show up in the FASC filing as "few hundred thousand" JV revenue, right?
TRCPA: I doubt that HAL is in the financing business. I think it is more likely that they are not in any hurry for the Zeolite, either because there are other sources available and/or their usuage is not that high. I owned HAL stock at one time and do not recall ever seeing such financing arrangements in their filings. I don't think financing a JV of two OTC companies would fly very well with HAL's shareholders, especially now with all the other negative press.
"Could there be some financing help from HAL in the ongoing process? Would certainly make sense to me. The cost of the plant is loose change to a company like HAL. And they are obviously interested in moving the project forward, so why not provide some upfront money that would be deducted from revenues later? Seems like that would make good business sense for all parties involved."
megster, excellent post. I would hope those here that want to keep the discussion on track would reply with their opinions.
I also wonder why the KDS wasn't specified by CZC and also wonder about financing. On financing I think many small companies have to give personal guarantees on the loans and rather than risk personal liability, the stock selling route is chosen (cheap money, no interest, and no pay back requirement!). On specifying the KDS, I think other equipment would work just as well if not better for this particular application.
miningguy2004, sorry about your market loses, I sincerely hope you get all your money back and more.
sambeaux, the FASC pps is where it is because they spend more than they make and sell shares to make up the difference. It's really as simple as that.
sambeaux, I don't think HAL's troubles are going to effect the FASC price. In HAL's defense, I would guess 100% of companies doing business in Nigeria are paying officials there bribes to do business. It is how business is done there and how it is done in many countries in the world. Not saying it's right, just SOP. Nigeria is the asshole of the world, but happens to have a schittload of oil.
miningguy2004, have you been an investor in FASC for a long time? If so, maybe you could have gained some knowledge regarding forward looking posts and those regarding dilution, etc. Unless you are a trader, I think the realists' posts would have been a benefit to you as an investor.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=FASC.OB&t=my
TRCPA, thanks for clearing that up. Many posts I have read on the "HAL deal" seem to imply HAL had specified Zeolite processed ONLY by the KDS. I think the reasons the KDS was chosen are: 1)The test material met HAL's specs. 2)FASC was willing to do a JV. 3)The KDS was readily available.
Further, I don't think anyone will get rich on the HAL deal. Zeolite mining has been on the skids world-wide, it's looks fairly cheap to mine (a few feet under the surface). I think the profit margins will be very slim.
TRCPA, on number 3, "3)What advantages did CZC, Zeo-Tech and Halliburton see in the KDS over other, competing technology.....which prompted its use for UZP Ltd in micronizing zeolite?"
Where did HAL say the Zeolite supplied had to be processed by the KDS? Didn't CZC actually look to another company for processing Zeolite at another location? UZP is a joint venture of two midgets that are using shares to finance their operations.
You and Janes keep mentioning HAL as if they selected the KDS to process their zeolite. HAL has contracted to buy the processed Zeolite, they NEVER said it had to be processed by the KDS. Again, CVC is considering another piece of equipment for other locations. This leap from nothing to imply HAL has specified the KDS is total BS and very upsetting to the realists that try to deal in FACTS! LOL!
On 1) and 2), we'll see. Only suitable for pumping purposes at this point.
On 4) ALMI and FASC: Again, just a joint venture of midgets probably because real processing equipment is very expensive, requires a long lead time, requires knowledgeable operators and mechanics on site, and cash up front from midgets.
Rafael636...update on the Poland sale and the Malaysian JV??
I don't have a clue.....maybe when they need some cash via selling shares.... ))))
techisbest...Now showing the 200,000 at 10:25 AM yesterday.
Jamesfwh...IR companies usually do take SOME restricted shares from their clients just so they can say "because of the potential of PP increase within the forthcoming year." See if Andy will tell you the total story.
Accept payment from a diluting OTC company in restricted shares? You are joking, right? FASC cannot sell the shares, they have to sell through a third party (the ole equity "financiers") and because of the discount they have to sell quite a bit more. By giving the shares directly to pay bills they save themselves a few shares if no big discount.
ptrey, come on, the fact that they are getting paid in shares tells them FASC is diluting so they want to dump the shares and get their money quickly. Do you think those that got paid in shares at 30 cents held on to them? My source is my brain, what is your source that they held on to the shares?
I doubt very much that Aquadyne held on to FASC shares. Most companies that accept shares as payment sell them as quickly as possible. They usually need the cash flow or they wouldn't accept shares as payment in the first place, too risky.
Jamesfwh, funny how Bible quotes can be found to justify just about anything:
But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
TRCPA, my thoughts:
ALMI: Small outfit, maybe questionable credit risk, KDS relatively cheap compared to other mining mills and FASC desperate for sale and willing to provide on-site help.
Firma Codogni: Foreign company, who knows?
HAL: Couldn't give two chits if a KDS or a coffee grinder is used as long as product meets price and specs. If they really do have a "huge" requirement, will probably look for other Zeolite suppliers to avoid being locked in with only one.
Malaysia: Foreign entity, who knows?
Rafael636, I think it's best to find the revenue in the quarterly filings before considering it a "done deal" and even then one should check later filings to make sure it's not backed out! LOL!
TRCPA, try reading the PR with your eyes crossed. When I do that it looks like a multi-trillion dollar contract and Haliburton has ordered 100 KDS'!
OT: techisbest, Great! My daughter will be able to sell her excess energy to the grid!! LOL!
Jamesfwh - Pardon me, Haliburton didn't buy or even specify the KDS, they are buying Zeolite. I'm sure HAL buys a lot of Portland cement too and could care less how it's produced as long as it meets spec and the price is right. Seems other "grinders" are also being considered by the miners. FASC got the order because they are willing to JV, try to find another major grinder manufacturer willing to JV with an OTC.
Waitedg, good post. For me, I just like to disagree and argue when I think I'm right! LOL! Plus FASC is interesting from the standpoint of seeing if the KDS ever really makes it (I doubt it) and also a good study of greed and why buyers think "this is the one!". Also a good study of how OTC "startups" keep a core of investors hanging on during massive dilution. Amazing how many use the overseas "markets" when the markets in North America should keep them very busy if they have something that really works. The "huge" deals they have now are just with other OTC companies.
Rafael636, the problem is, there really isn't much to discuss.
The true believers don't want to hear anything negative at all because it forces them to face facts and the fact that they may have made a mistake. Just human nature, IMO.
TRCPA, the only reason I even read the board is I am very, very curious as to why people would buy 1 to 3 million shares of a company with a history like this one. For some, it is their only "investment". I suppose in some cases it could be relative, maybe only a 0.1% of their net worth, if so, it's probably just throw away play money. If some did as much DD as they do on FASC, I think they could find some pretty good stocks out there in real companies. Sorry if my posts bother some, I'll try to keep it minimal, but sometimes I can't help myself! LOL!
What would be the capital gains tax on that if I sold at 0.50?
Rafael636, I should get a $10 rebate check next week. I may buy some then if I can get a good price.
beischens, when the DOE finally does the report, is it public info or just go to AGES/FASC?
Maybe Cal will print some more next month and you can buy some of those.
