States with the best chance to legalize cannabis in 2017?
Marijuana legalization
By John Schroyer
After a landmark year in cannabis legalization, marijuana advocates have plenty of work left. And they’re not resting on their laurels.
The Marijuana Policy Project calculates a whopping 38 legalization bills for medical or recreational marijuana are likely to be introduced in 33 states and the District of Columbia in 2017.
“There’s more support for marijuana policy reform than ever before among the public, and that appears to be reflected in state lawmakers’ views as well,” said Mason Tvert, the advocacy group’s communications director. “A lot of states have been talking about these issues for a while, and we expect to see those efforts in several states come to fruition this year.”
MPP’s website already lists 30 of those bills, but many legalization proposals the group anticipates have not yet been introduced.
Here are some of the states where MPP believes marijuana legalization is most likely to be successful this year:

A bipartisan coalition of state lawmakers lauded MMJ on the opening day of the 2017 legislative session in the Palmetto State, the Associated Press reported earlier this month. Three bills that could compete for support in the legislature: Senate Bill 212, House Bill 3128 and House Bill 3521.

California is the 6th largest economy in the world, not to mention LA alone last year sold ~$1B of MEDICINAL marijuana alone. WOFA sells canna strips, catering to the Medical MJ industry and they are located in Northern California. I'm buying and holding for the long haul. The Boon is here and escalating every day in the MJ sector, don't miss out. GLTA $$$$$$$$$$$
Jim O'Neil (MJ advocate) as head of FDA would give the sector a great boost and allow it to gain a lot more traction with the ultimate goal of rescheduling MJ.
Rescheduling, then handing cannabis over to the FDA to regulate makes a lot of sense. And this could play out if Jim O'Neil gets the nod for head of the FDA. WOFA $$$$$$$$$$$$$ GLTA
I hope the sells keep coming, so I can get cheaper and cheaper shares. Great buying opportunity $$$$$$$$$ GLTA
Up 55% so far today Vinny boy... We shall see what we will see by end of month. GLTA
Sure so you can buy more shares at even cheaper prices! GLTA
last ditch effort of MMs trying to shake out weak hands. Expecting huge gains after the Donald's inaugurated. He is totally for legal medical MJ for the states that have made it so. January and February will be Boon time for WOFA. GLTA
You'll never get cheaper shares then right now. $500 gets you 500,000 sh that's half a million for 500 bucks. This company is located in Northern California and sells a medical MJ product IE Cannastrips Do your DD about to explode! GLTA
Hey YN I'm thinking we see some positive changes by the end of the month. After the inauguration things should start to pop one way or the other, I'm in for the long haul. GLTA

Great News/ Sessions will not enforce fed ban: Marijuana Industry Hopes Promise of Jobs Will Keep Trump, Sessions Happy - TheStreet

I believe you can only lock up shares if you buy on margin?
Maybe Sessions confirmation is not as bad as we thought. (Many MJ stocks are up today)
If Sessions intends to carry out enforcement of federal law that has been largely ignored due to the massive proliferation of state to state legalization, he would be setting up a showdown of biblical proportions. The feds would then be made to look like true fools having issued their own patent on the substance for its neuroprotectant and antioxidant properties (medical benefits), and having allowed the infrastructures of countless businesses who depend on the current legal framework to conduct their business (involving millions of people who have abandoned their 9-5's to engage in startup businesses) only to let it all crumble to the ground and destroy a now entrenched and expanding industry.
Think about it.....from a geopolitical standpoint, with the value of the dollar having weakened against other currencies, does anyone really think The Donald will allow this dinosaur Sessions and his hard on for cannabis to trump the broader goal of making America the super power it once was?? It's actually absurd to think that will occur. We have come a long way from the days of Reefer Madness folks! See the writing on the walls here and realize the fear many have about Jeff Sessions is completely ridiculous. Wait on the sidelines if you must, but I'm loading all I can across the sector NOW before what I know to be true is confirmed.

Sen. Cory Booker will apparently make history this week when he testifies before the Judiciary Committee against Sen. Jeff Sessions' nomination for attorney general in hearings that begin Tuesday.
Booker's office said Monday that the Senate historian had been unable to find any previous instance of a sitting senator's testifying against a fellow sitting senator nominated for a Cabinet position.
Noting that "I'm breaking a pretty long Senate tradition," the New Jersey Democrat said Monday on MSNBC's "All In": "We've seen Jeff Sessions — that's Senator Jeff Sessions — consistently voting against or speaking out against key ideals of the Voting Rights Act, taking measures to try to block criminal justice "He has a posture and a positioning that I think represent a real danger to our country," Booker said.
In 1986, the Senate Judiciary Committee killed President Ronald Reagan's nomination of Sessions to a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama after four former Justice Department colleagues testified that he had made racially offensive statements.
Sessions turned the rejection into a launchpad for his political career. He was elected attorney general of Alabama before being elected in 1996 to the U.S. Senate, where he is considered among the more conservative member
Several other prominent African-American figures in addition to Booker also plan to testify against Sessions, R-Alabama, a former U.S. attorney and attorney general in Alabama, including two members of the House: Rep. John Lewis, D-Georgia, a leader of the civil rights movement of the 1960s; and Rep. Cedric Richmond, D-Louisiana, the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus.
The NAACP has also strongly opposed Sessions' nomination, calling him "a threat to desegregation and the Voting Rights Act."
Sessions was Trump's earliest supporter in the Senate, where his fierce opposition to illegal immigration and skepticism toward legal immigration aligned with Trump's campaign message.
He has been criticized by numerous liberal and civil rights organizations, which cite his strong opposition to expansion of rights for gay and lesbian Americans, legalization of marijuana even for medical use, legal abortion, embryonic stem cell research and President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act.

North American engineering and materials better then the Dutch counterparts greenhouses.
Why choose a North American greenhouse?
Josh Conley, disagrees that Venlo greenhouses are made of better materials and are more airtight. For example, he has facilities that use twin-wall acrylic material, which he said is considered by many to be the most high-tech and efficient exterior material available.
“All the materials that are available to the Dutch are available to the U.S. as well. They’re not hiding any secrets,” Conley said.
North American greenhouses have other advantages
“If you are looking for a strong greenhouse that will protect your crop, go with a North American manufacturer who uses American steel,” said Coulter, who believes U.S.-manufactured steel “is the best in the world.”
Likewise, not everyone is convinced the software automation in Venlo greenhouses is superior to that in North American greenhouses.
“There is no secret algorithm. There is only, ‘What does that plant need and how do you provide an environmental system to supply those needs?’
Climate changes one’s needs
Dutch greenhouses are designed with the environment of the Netherlands in mind, which means below sea level, cloudy and relatively little sunlight.
“In my opinion, Dutch greenhouses for summer climates are really not superior,” said Conley of Next Gen Greenhouses. “They typically want one method of doing things, but climate scenarios change and thus the structure should, too.”
For example, Dutch greenhouses tend to use small, and as few as possible, metal members and high-transmission glass. Such a setup probably wouldn’t work in Florida.
“When 130 (mph) winds come through, that greenhouse may not be standing at the end of the hurricane,” said Conley, noting that Florida also has plentiful sunshine. “That’s where a more robust structure may be more suitable … Something that is polycarbonate and that can withstand those forces would be a better choice for Florida.”
North American manufacturers offer more options.
“The style of greenhouse, covering options, automation systems and even material-handling systems all differ depending on where the greenhouse is located and how the grower is growing,” she said. “North American greenhouse manufacturers tend to be better at adjusting their product offerings to provide the best crop environment for each customer.
“Conversely, the Dutch systems are more geared toward fitting the grower into their system. They tend to have fewer styles of greenhouses to choose from.”
Bottom line
Ultimately, Coulter said, growers should think less about which country their greenhouse will come from and more about the companies themselves.

“Cannabis Industry Outlook for 2017” Paints a Very Bullish Outlook for Cannabis Stocks
Cannabis stocks have struggled since the November 8 election. Almost every stock I follow is down since then. However, I don’t believe that weakness signals a shift in sentiment. I believe it is being driven by end of year profit taking and tax-loss harvesting. Keep in mind, most cannabis investors are sitting on huge gains on the year. Looking forward, Cannabis investors should focus on long-term buy and hold and use dips as a chance to buy more shares. When this wave of profit taking and tax loss harvesting ends next week, I’m expecting cannabis stocks to rebound and begin advancing again in 2017.

Colorado cannabis sales in 2016 already exceed $1 billion
?In a significant milestone for the cannabis industry, Colorado’s combined recreational and medical marijuana sales hit $1.1 billion in the first 10 months of 2016.
That total eclipsed Colorado’s combined cannabis sales in 2015 of just over $996 million, according to The Cannabist. Colorado is now the first state with medical and recreational program to officially top the $1 billion mark in a calendar year, underscoring the growth in the marijuana industry.
Marijuana Business License DirectoryAt the current pace, marijuana sales in Colorado could hit more than $1.3 billion this year, which would come in at the top end of estimates in the Marijuana Business Factbook.
Marijuana sales have also resulted in growing tax revenue for the state, The Cannabist reported. Excluding accounting for licensing fees on cannabis businesses, Colorado’s marijuana-related tax haul through the first 10 months of 2016 is $151.4 million. By comparison, the state took in $120.6 million in 2015 and $63.4 million in 2014.
In September, Colorado’s combined rec and medical sales hit $127.8 million, setting a record for the third month in a row. Sales dipped to $117.8 million dollars in October, but that was still up from the same period last year by 46%.

Thanks ds I saw it on a Canadian stock site weird.
I'm very new here and a little confused, isn't this a Canadian stock. Why all the talk about Trump? How does he affect this stock?
I'm still here and waiting for Jan 3rd first trading day of 2017. Maybe we get a catalyst or PR before that, then BOOM. GLTA
The volume is Ass-Throw-Nominal :)
I'm good with that YN, maybe just before Christmas. GLTA
I was thinking the same thing YN, I was part of that RS last year. Never a fan of the RS and do not think they will do another one so soon. I have heard nothing about an RS and it might not be possible to do another one, so soon after the last one. Can't wait for January. GLTA
I agree Sugar, I'm so sick of both sides of the issue, especially the ones who Pump one day and Bash the next, when PPS is up and then down. Like a certain conflicted Piggy. Most of these guys with there Charts and such don't know what the hell their talking about and do more harm then good with their post. I always get a good laugh out of the Know It All's. Personally I think GRNH will do spectacular in Jan/Feb 2017, that's my 2 cents on the matter. GLTA
Oh ye of little faith, Vinny the Grinch :) GLTA
