Aloha

I for one trust the guy.

behoof I live in Maui...I lived on Oahu in the early 70's and aside from surfing I used to collect puka shells on the North Shore to sell to the tourists. Good fun time in my life!
GOod luck in yours!
Aloha!
Big Tips this reminds of when your MM buddy said we were going to run to .10...never happened.
Aloha
Nope...I was out working on my tan this morning! Faded pretty quickly...LOL
Pretty nippy down at the beach though.
Hope all you guys are safe...I've been through my share of disasters-cold and otherwise.
Aloha
You guys should be out shoveling your neighbor's driveways to make some extra Q bucks...it'll make the weekend fly by!
Aloha
0 OUCH! I don't think I ever mentioned I lived in Anchorage for 6 years...been there done that.
Black ice and ice rain rank among my least favorites along with daylight from 1000 - 1400 in December.
Summer was a different story...heaven!
Aloha
Yup no snow here either, just 4 days of rain....
Aloha
sydney That's the ticket and it won't be Ellen or Rosie but someone who wants to take their place. As Frank has pointed out being #1 is a hard place to be because everyone wants your spot.
The ironic thing is with LOGO dropping out for several months the default #1 is Q. More power to us!
Aloha
That's good, I think the investor's should just lurk and not get into our normal BS which WILL interfere with our investments progress.
Frank even made an "investor's chatroom", God forbid I know better than to even enter that one...LOL
Aloha
mcfly that's good to hear! I haven't been there in several days since I was accused of being an imposter...seemed like investor's/bashers were interferring with the real program and there was a lot of paranoia going on. Might have to check back in next week.
Aloha
I'm really curious what is up with the syndication. This could be Comcast's "gift" to Q by putting a couple of Q's hit programs out on regular TV so people will not only hear about Q they get to sample the programs. A 15 second Q channel ad during the show could draw thousands of inquiries which would benefit both Q and Comcast.
One of my good friends has been in the TV business for 35+ years and was quite surprised that a first run show would go into syndication. Usually a show has to have a demand for it before channels will devote a time slot. another subtle Q hint
Aloha
Poached from RB Does the last paragraph sound familiar?
More Cathy Rasenberger
http://www.metrotimes(dot)com/editorial/story.asp?id=5205
"Assuming the station is successful, of course, by no means a certainty. In fact, it's tougher than ever to launch a cable network, and announcing your plans eight months in advance doesn't help your cause.
"It is the kiss of death," says Cathy Rasenberger, president of Rasenberger Media, a consulting firm for cable startups which is currently helping launch the Anime Network. "The press will put the nail in your coffin."
Not the mainstream press, which loved The America Channel concept. Rasenberger is referring to the cable-industry press, which she says will "hunt you down to make sure you're hitting your target launch date and your distribution deals. They will bury you. A lot of networks have been killed by premature press. Everybody's watching."
In other words, if "The America Channel" falls behind schedule and the trade press makes a stink of it, the investors and distributors "The America Channel" needs to launch might bail out."
More from the same article:
"The big cable companies, when negotiating agreements with startups, impose restrictions on the startups so they can't tell potential investors who they're negotiating with or how close they are to an agreement. The network and cable company can "agree in principle," but the network can't go blabbing about it to investors. Meanwhile, the cable companies are watching to make sure the network is pulling in enough investment capital to launch."
Incorrect they are not in the float. Look at the following taken from EBAY stats.
Share Statistics
Average Volume (3 month): 9,776,681
Average Volume (10 day): 23,368,000
Shares Outstanding: 662.91M
Float: 507.10M
% Held by Insiders: 23.50%
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=EBAY
Insiders shares are not considered part of the float.

Watson I may be on tho something....
That PR was dated 12/14 and the retirement was to take 2 months which would coincide with the 2/14 start of broadcasting menntioned in one of the PR's.
"Q on the Move" will begin airing on the 150 stations on February 14th, 2005 and will continue for 13 full weeks. Stations and specific air times will be announced in the near future. "
Sometimes ya gotta say hmmmmmmmmmmm. The plot thickens again...
Aloha
It may have a connection with the buy back though. There is no reason why the shares could not be retired in a lump sum instead of "pre-set blocks" unless it is being timed with shares being bought back so Frank can still keep his 51% control. ie: buy back 100 mil, retire 100 mil.
Who knows, just another thought.
Aloha
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!
skunks I've thought that all along...it's nice to see it in print. I would love to hear how a big carrier owns 25%+ some day!
Aloha
dr_silkworth2002 Good morning!
0350 here and I can't sleep for some reason...It's hard to say how many indivdual investors there are right now. At one point Frank said 6000.
From what I have gathered from these boards and people I know there are between 1.5-2 billion shares held here with a good percentage of that held tight for higher levels.
On top of Frank's 51% I would assume there are some large holders on Frank's side who have been in since the beginning.
Since Viacom stated a gay channel up and running should be worth a billion plus it would be pretty easy to assume that Comcast or other carrier who is going to carry Q would risk a few million to pick up a large chunk of the OS.
Then you add Firestone, Ronnie, Rubenstien, CR etc. who would be foolish not to be holding shares, you can see that the float could dry up in a flash turning it into a "private club". If/when that happens the sky is the limit.
JMO Hold tight!
Aloha
makingbacon .08-6.10!!!! WOW! Aloha
dr_silkworth2002 That's where I think you are wrong. But I guess time will prove what happens. I don't think there is going to be much float left shortly. The whole float can be bought for less than 15 million dollars...so this could be a private club...join now while their still letting in ordinary folks.
Aloha
makingbacon...congratulations on your trading, you sound like you have done very well! FWIW I bounced off 28000% on Q and held tight because I WANT TO SEE THE LAUNCH!
.05-.10 is a given, but don't count out what skunks has been saying about SIRI, just average in the difference in shares. Things are just getting started!
Aloha
sirsly00 I saw my initial investment of $44,000 in GAAY back in '99 go down to a .0000 bid for several years so you don't have to tell me about manipulation. Luckily I averaged down and now have somewhere around 1% of the AS...good luck and hold tight!
Aloha
DGILL48 IMO the float is going to dry up before your eyes very shortly. Be glad you're here early. I got here almost 5 years early and the party is just beginning! LOL
Aloha
Cool! I've been here a long time and I do believe you will see the first 3 at least. The $+ would be the icing on the retirement cake. I have 20+ mil reserved for .30 and above! If/when my lower sells go through those 20+ mill will be getting very little attention for quite some time if you know what I mean!
Just watch the big boys start to get involved now....
Aloha
What really cracks me up is how many people here are going too sell into the next run up at between a penny or two. The last 2 runs caught people off guard and it will happen again. So much has happened since last April this run should hold its gains and they may be a lot higher than most of you expect.
Of course I could be wrong...
Aloha
junkmasterg good find! It kind of reminds you of what goes on on these message boards. hmmmm I wonder what the connection i?.
Aloha
Thanks George! Aloha
I think it comes down to she rubs our back, we rub hers. If the contract(s) weren't signed I doubt we would see her name in print or any other public connection with a "failed" project. She has probably been working behind the scenes on this for some time now and things are going to start moving. Of course I could be wrong too...
Aloha
oops...I knew it didn't sound right!
Aloha
froy,
smart investors like to go with a sure bet, being picked up by a firm that has launched 6 channels kinda gives Q more credibility than it had last week.
This another of your classic comments "Were not buying stock in Rasenberger were buying stock in Q"
Are you old enough to remember the "When Charles Schwab talks people listen" commercials? I think that could apply here.
Aloha
firefight don't forget this one...
Not a bash just ignorance at it's best...

They should have never PRD this means nothing
ROFLMAO
ALoha
Those are some big shoes to fill...LOL
Uhhh, PR today...yeah that's the ticket!
Aloha
I'll go out on a limb and say this is the prelude to something VERY BIG. We get our carriers and she gets another feather in her cap! I don't think she just started today and think about all the shares that have been going through this last week.
Aloha
I like this part best..."By the time you read this, Rasenberger expects to participate in three more network launches." Gee wonder who?
Aloha
Yup and she works for us not our competition...
Aloha
Wow I like the last paragraph of that one. And Comcast seems to be mentioned regularly in her articles.
Looking good.
Aloha
It seems to be timed with the Sundance so let's see what develops there. I like JC's post about Anime.
Aloha
WOW! Not quite Comcast but impressive in its own right! I'm not sure why they waited until 3:58 to release it though.
Aloha
