.....may not be a popular take on the Board but IMHO kudos to Mayor Duffy for putting a bullet in the ferry....Was never going to make economic sense with a city our size..Get over it sell the thing and move on..Man can government ever piss away money..Toronto is a great town..I go there every couple of years and can swing the gas money and the extra 25 minutes...Leitrim

One lesson my old man told me when I started in business (and it is applicable to personal issues as well..) "desperate men do desperate things..".. They are taking in water in a major way in Michigan... OT: Things been awful quiet across the parking lot..May be too much coffee for me, but maybe that's not such a bad thing right about now..????
Hey Dread..
Happy New Year..What a thrill to know I made the top five posters..now If there was only any real content to my ramblings I may have something..When was the last time you touched base with H.Q.?? Just curious if you feel we will get an update of any sort prior to the Annual..Don;t get me wrong if silence turns out to be Golden- I'm more than cool with that...I hope they are so busy they haven;t had time to even turn on a computer other than to crunch numbers...
Leitrim
Couldn;t agree more..
We have, on the whole, been a patient bunch....crabby at times but patient- still invested in spite of some misteps.."our future is bright" ....Let the future begin in 2006..Happy New Year amigos..
I'll be happy to buy
a round..over $2 a share at the time??.Heinies..under $2?? Miller Light..I AM working..got some clean up stuff to do with 1/1 renewals & a little new biz ( always room for some more DYNA and Sheriff..)...but I'm also half distracted looking out the window towards the office parking lot.. hoping to find some folks from the Far East blasting through a snowbank in a FTV or
taking the turn on Fishers and Benson @ 65 MPH in 300Z..
Slan Leat,
Lad from Leitrim
Ya'll ever wanna chat ya got my number..If not see ya at the Annual
Atleast
all can agree on one point in Tor's recent flurry..
<as a shareholder, I hope that the behind the scenes activities at Torvec are moving the company closer to a deal or deals that will create real demand for the stock>
From your lips to God's Ears dude..Santa is getting an earful of that kinda run from me too....2006..The Year of the Paradigm Shift..?? I'm ready: bring it on....Hey everybody have a Merry Christmas..If I knew how to say that in Chinese I would..Leitrim
That's what I figured....
Dread..
aka Bobby Rahal..you stated..<Shanghai Auto, Nissan and the US Military> are all in discussions..Other than the Shanghai Peng Pu FTV romance..the other two are pure conjecture aren't they??? (not being negative or antagonistic) but I remember the Dodge Ram Deisel testing and we really don;t know that DC was actively interested in what TOVC was doing and testing- we were just extrapolating??.Am I all wet.. or are these truths comfirmed..ain;t trying to trip you up and or get you in trouble..just an interested investor
.. Re: Duke etc..
Dread you play??...I'm a much better guitar player than a golfer... 72 Black Strat ( I'm a Fender guy as a rule but wouldn't mind Keith/Jim unlocking some funds to explore a Les Paul Std...Cherry Burst..) I think that the DR Torvecian referenced is indeed an Upstate guy but I could be wrong...
Leitrim
While.....
the stock isn't doing squat..atleast this Board is entertaining again..Don Rickles??? Why not Donna Reed?? David Ruffin?? Oops ..both dead... Dread enjoying readin your chronicles..That little hill sure looks familiar..If I had a really strong arm could I hit TOVC world Headquarters with a snowball from there??? Careful going 60 on the backroads..Monroe County Sheriffs are often a humorless bunch I've found out the hard way....As far as the TOVC Open Golf Tourney..Sure I'm in...Pebble sounds great..would need $30 a share to justify Scotland- but I'm happy to discuss should we have the chance.....(grin)
Leitrim
Hey Sheriff:
Not likely to happen..I believe Dread is quietly and deftly attempting to pull a Kirkorian ( not Kevorcian) He's buying on the dips and on his next call to the Mothership he's gonna stop being nice - say he owns 10% of the common- start to get pissy and tell Jim he wants a Board Seat....Dread just remember us common folks when you enter into your reign..Off for some Chinese food..been craving Lo Mein since yesterday..no idea why...
Slainte'
Leitrim
lynx..
I'm certainly not rooting for GM to flounder..but much like Ek who wants to buy a business that is not growing, losing market share and constantly attempts to save their way into profitability..??? I do think some of this is too little too late with innovation, too slow concessions by labor force..some, if not most, of the malaise and or demise is their own doing..Back to the matter at hand..anybody else notice that every action step outlined in the CEO update referenced December..Looks like we are back to "weeks not months"..Atleast we have a CEO that is on the clock and in the thick of the dialogue..As is Keith's Teddy Roosevelt comparison..time for the big stick ????...Good Luck
Thadda boy...
go big or stay home...I'm so broke right about now I can;t even "pay attention..." ( Sorry..real weak I know...)
Artguy..
Said <No slamdunk as far as a deal at this point, but you have to love the activity.>
I'm on your page fella..Shanghai isn't exactly Syracuse and these nice folks certainly wouldn't be continuing to travel all this way for our lovely weather???.If this were ever were to break like we all feel it has the POTENTIAL too ( I'm cautious- #1 I'm Irish so I'm familiar with that "Murphy" guy and #2 I'm in sales and there is no "deal/close" until the check clears and the funds are in your account..up until then it's a PROSPECT..)There would be a ton of locals who have said ad naseum this is nothing but "a scam/pipedream.."etc.. I'd have almost as much fun running smak as I would checking my Schwab account...( Grin) Holding steady..but still reserve the right to be cynical/despondent at a moments notice...
Dread.....
My point was that was in the text that used to appear on CXO's website..( about Dick S..preparing the contracts/reviewing stuff that was filed etc...) didn't mean to imply at all the G's had thrown him under the bus...anyhow the dismal of the defamation action certainly may have contributed to Jim's upbeat mood on Friday as you reported..Let's hope there is more in the way of SHAREHOLDER victories right around the corner....Slainte' Leitrim
I think the question
that is the crux of the litigation ( if there is any) will be..
Was what they agreed to as a Board the info that was filed. They want to hang Sullivan out to dry but how can the CEO/CFO at the time not have any involvement in the documents filed???...could be wrong and like I said I don't really care.... bad partnership-shouldn't have happened..they had not much to bring the the party in this industry..but what do I know...Slan Leat Leitrim
Also recall Nissan...
being involved or atleast quoted back several years ago
as supplying the truck body for the FTV and I believe the President of North American operations quoted as being "excited to be a partner with TOVC" or words to that effect.. This was about '99 or 2000 so perhaps they are also one of the "other companies" we get teased with..Dread is that something Jim can comment on as I'm almost positive that was in a PR....???
Leitrim
Thanks Tor..
I enjoyed the post and appreciate the elaboration beyond the headline..Of course your lawyer friend smiles at all this stuff..
That's what puts gas in the Lexus !! The company has said this is not a major distraction just a hiccup and lesson learned..I hope..The name Torvec no longer appears anywhere on CXO website- no more Pr's with updates to positions etc..Taking all the emotion out of it, let's see if increasing shareholder value is the main play in the gamplan for 2006..I think on the whole we have been a patient lot..onery at times but still here
Torvecian states...
<I'm still here.....
Been very busy making up new conspiracy theories...lots of pie graphs, flow charts and power point involved. >
just remember know your audience and keep things simple...Off to follow the money...
It happens...
Usually only with females in that target market of ages 25-45..Oh well...
P.S.
it is outlooks such as this that makes one's imagination run wild that we are actively negotiating with the number one
auto company in the World's fastest growing economy..it is not the strategy TOVC has employed that frustrates,or even a lack of North American marketing effort to date ( although I think the announcement of Lee Sawyer getting back aboard was to let shareholders know..."it's comin..it's comin..." ..like the Gleasmans who have manufactured and sold automotive technology before, this guy apparently has set up automotive distribution networks from ground one as well...)but WHAT frustrates is the not knowing- the guessing and conjecture that we do daily..I know they are trying to say what they can and I appreciate that..I wish ignorance was bliss..in Reality it can be painful !! Nothing personal Dread but there are days I wish I'd never found ya here on the cyber island !!!!
Here is a link .....
to a good commentary by Ben Stein on Yahoo Finance today ( 11-30) dealing with China and USA economic fear...Deals mostly with Semi conductor industry but definitely applicable to
Auto world and GM in particular...

We're about due
for a new CEO update don't ya think...C'mon Dread rustle the bushes..Tor..My New Year's wish for you is that you are more proccupied with offsetting massive capital gains than delving into the ongoing conspiracy theories into individual investment positions/strategies..Everybody..the longs, the shorts, the day traders, the market makers, the consultants is here trying to make a buck...Period..If we are successful it will be due to VG's patented technology and the grit, determination, patience and negotiating skills of his sons..That is what is boils down to plain and simple..Keep it simple ..Sure I'll play "matchmaker" for anybody who is in the witness protection program to exchange info..I'm a pretty reliable guy..
O.K another week..
I agree with the Sheriff about this topic..Shareholders have already heard enough from both sides to form an opinion..it's noise in the channel from our real interests. As far as your last point..personalities aside..ultimately this comes down to the Technology.Does Torvec offer the marketplace the technology which fits into the immediate future as far as needs, direction that the industry is heading??? ( which is probably evolving at a faster clip than anytime in my lifetime than I can remember- I mean that proposed Natural gas to Deisel Plant in Middle East is science fiction stuff 20 years ago...)It's Economics 101 Supply/Demand with a little sociology and a whole lot of drama built in...I don;t think Ms Ho was going to make a deal- nor break a deal..Who wants the technology- will they pay fair value and when
Naaahh..nothing like that...
Little known fact is that Dyna is actually fluent in
Japanese and he was merely offering up an informal greeting of sorts..So if a deal were ever consummated with Nissan on the ISO Torque - given his interest in all things Asian and his affinity for numbers..well I would expect him to be able to perform miraculously quick conversions from Yen to Dollars..Everybody get enough to eat on Thursday....??? Full week next week.. '06 is gonna be our year ...right???Can I get an Amen ??? Anybody???
Gotcha...
but it does sound like him..:).He'll find ya if he wants a retraction..
P.S.
from Dread's last post...quoting our CEO..
<the primary focus remains on getting the job done with Peng Pu, and Nissan.>
I have no problem with that course of action...Give 'em hell...
Yes..
Thanks to Dread (and Jim..)I struggle with the nuts and bolts of the technology...You mention "physics" and I start to sweat remembering high school.....( however if you teach me about it I'll probably be able to sell it to someone !!!:)
Regards
OT sort of.....
I recall someone posting a query to TOVC just about the hydraulic pump as a stand alone technology and product for sale..a very enthusiastic response came back from "torvec Engineering" giving the history and VG the bulk of the credit
for leap frogging existing pump technology..etc.etc..Now I know I could address this directly to Jim but I'm optimistic that he is engaged on more pressing matters- What type of market applications would this pump address...any??all? anybody know about it..Once you all have sufficiently offset my ignorance I may have the courage to ask..."What the He?? is a CV joint... (grin)
Leitrim
Happy Thanksgiving and may good things come to those who wait..
Short week........
ususally brings alot of yawns in the market.I'd love to hear something positive in the way of monetization progress prior to Christmas but I don't expect to..Merely hoping TOVC's phone bill is high and that their travel agent is having a banner year...That's about all we can do other than forward emails of the update(s)..I've gotten alot of funny responses- friend in Utah thinking I changed jobs.. others thinking I've become a touch delusional.. (perhaps they are right....?)
Happy Thanksgiving in advance( to all- longs and bashers alike) in case I don;t post before Thursday..- I know what's the chance of that happenin...?!
Slainte'
Happy trails Dyna..
Say hi to Kobe Tai for me...
Dyna....
Be Cool Bro be cool....don;t get all hoppped up 3 hours before the whistle blows..give your clients your very best...
Sheriff..
Where??? "West Pittsford"?? If I dumped you off on Howard/Hinchey Road @ 10:00 p.m in pitch dark could ya make it back to Thirsty's by closing...??? ( Have a good one..grin)
Peace to all my fellow Dreamers..God Bless JG, Mother Teresa, and Dyna (in any order you prefer...) and God Bless this Investment while we're at it..( that ain;t sacriligious is it...??)
Lad from Leitrim
That IS a nice ride..
just went on line and played with the colors and accesories etc...Here's to hoping Jim, Peng Pu and Chinese Translator can help put me in one of those bad boys for next Summer..I like the White One...The Red one looks too much like a Miata..
Leitrim
Good read Atl..
The Shanghai/GM connection is sort of interesting to "Google" around with- lots of similar hits to your post...GM clearly has to go in new and different directions and a whole lot faster than they are accustomed too...Will they be able to..Who knows, but conducting business with their heads up their keester clearly isn't working..."Not Invented Here" Syndrome..Who the F cares???...Consumers want it..will pay for it( ask in 4 years what Silver Haloid Film is/was)....It'll happen..Makes no never mind if it "The Lightbulb" came from Detroit, Rochester N.Y. or Shanghai China..Nice weekend all
Dino
Isn't goin anywhere..Face it this is like the crack of investments... it's too tough to put down "the pipe"..Even our resident cynic Mr. Dyna is still around (crabby as ever) but quietly addin to his position.. Truck this is either the "Titanic" or "The Love Boat" and one thing for sure there aren;t enough life rafts...so batten down the hatches, look out for icebergs and say a silent prayer for our Skipper JG...AAAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH... Why do I suddenly feel like a pirate....???
Leitrim
What do I win.????????????
for being the 4000th poster I mean..one of those snazzy I- Hub T-shirts that you were sporting during the "meet the press session"???The use of the Nissan with the Iso Torque for a few weeks...??? I wouldn't mind taking that bad boy down the back here on Benson Road at about 50-60 mph.....Naaah Never mind..TOVC @ $20-30 a share by March would be cool with me...bet ya'll too...Peace
From the Update...
<We also believe that its light weight, fewer parts and anticipated lower costs to manufacture will also be highly attractive to automakers.>
In my mind that is "the bet" or better said the "whole ball of wax" on which the IVT's success rests..JG has pretty much said Compaanies don;t care about milage improvements ( which boggles my mind but I believe him)..cost improvements ..something to cut the difference -v- Toyota and the other's that are saddled with those retiree and pension benefits negotiatied eons ago...For the love of Mike..GM should be calling Jim and saying "hey fella whaddya got..."can we take a look at that bad boy for a couple of months...you may be on to something here...??? Thoughts? comments? insults? All welcomed...
I'm too simple minded for this game..I truly am..
Leitrim
Thanks
for the follow up Dread..For a non engineer, this will have to do..Till the next CEO update...Peace...( I'm too young to be a hippie but that usually says about it all)...Hang in there Dyna..Having a doubting Thomas on board is good- I swing that side on occasion.. I like Cause your a brawler but not caustic......
althought the forecast is
nice today, hot dog season is a distant memory here in Rochester for awhile, and although Torvec's World Headquarters is 400 yards from my office, I would like to think (and/or hope that they are VERY busy- & not just with legal proceedings)- i.e they are unable to shoot the breeze with me and educate me on how the FTV is assembled..better served on somebody who has the $$$$$ to make it or buy it...
Peace
