OT: (should have been using, sorry!) Terry, back in 2003 I started a "Portfolio" using the Motley Fool stock screener,
http://www.quicken.com/investments/strategyexperts/?strongpicks=fool
I would check it weekly for new entries, and put a 100 shares of each in the "Portfolio". There are now 84 symbols, 49 are up and 35 are down. Overall the portfolio is up 21% which isn't too shabby considering the markets during that time and no effort to be more "selective" on my part. If I had been more sellective in the ones I picked, I'm sure it would have done much better. Some of the bigger winners, UPL up 364%, MVL up 218%. APPX up 178%. The point is, stock selection based on fundamentals is the "safest" way to build assets over time, unless you are a Brad Kelley.
terry hallinan, you know there are always exceptions to the "rules". If Motley Fool wrote an article how smoking and heavy drinking lessens your life span, you would reply that you had an uncle who smoked two packs of cigarettes a day, drank a fifth of whisky a day, and lived to be a 100! LOL!
The "task" IS probably nearly impossible for MOST investors as I would guess MOST investors are not capable of breaking the world 100 meter dash record. IBD spells out many investing "rules" that if followed lower your losses and lock in gains and works for many investors. Personally, I find the discipline very tough to follow. Peter Lynch and Warren Buffet have also been very successful and very clearly stay away from the "pennies".
But, good luck to the Brad Kelley wannnabes. Sure makes the stock boards interesting!
Malaysian success stories, lot's of major biz:

jonesieatl, nice chart on TIV! I want ALL my holdings to look like that! LOL! On TDYH accum/dist line, I don't think it means much right now especially with low volume, and it can make a big move with the right news. I think Tandem is getting more interest and many present investors will jump in with both feet when progress is confirmed. Look at the last spike when some interest was generated.
tenzzi, I had a dream you and I are going to make it BIG in penny world! Let's do a joint book release and signings! And people can use us as examples on stock boards! LOL!
terry hallinan, Geez, is Brad Kelley the only example you got?
I thought someone would have a huge list of millionaires and/or billionaires, maybe even a Club!! LOL! But Brad Kelley is a great example to use to suck buyers in on particular stocks.
On the other hand HD and DOW have quite a few millionaires in their employee and retired employee lists just from the employee stock purchase plans! Of course there are quite a few companies who don't even have retirement plans anymore.
Motley Fool says you won't be made a millionaire here:
But for the ultimate example, think Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT).
In November 1980, Wal-Mart was trading at a split- and dividend-adjusted $0.01 per share. That's right, one cent. But let's be clear: The stock was selling at $50 per share then, so it wasn't ever a penny stock. In our opinion, it's actually nearly impossible to become a penny stock millionaire -- despite the mischievous title we placed on this article. No, the greatest stocks are those of real companies, with real earnings. Because of stock splits, some investors think you'll find the next Wally World searching among 30-cent stocks. You won't.
So what has Wal-Mart done since 1980 (a full decade after it went public)?
With the stock trading at about $47 as of this writing, it has risen more than 4,700 times in value over the past 24 years. A $5,000 investment back then is worth about $24 million today. That'll clean up a lot of investment mistakes!

Any one know when the next spike will be? Back to 2 cents for a few months? I wish they have put some estimated revs in the past PR, the board guessing always gets it wrong.
Aspen Oil: Plans & Progress
http://www.aspenexploration.com/plansprog.htm
Aspen currently has working interests in approximately 62 producing wells (47 wells are operated by Aspen) and has a very active drilling program planned for 2005. All of the selected drill sites for 2005 have been identified through the use of 3-D seismic techniques in conjunction with well data, which have demonstrated great improvement in the percentages of successful oil and gas discoveries. For a more in-depth look at Aspen’s current activities be certain to view the Corporate Slide Show. New and additional drilling locations for gas wells are constantly sought, based on solid geology in conjunction with 3-D seismic information. The Sacramento Valley of California, where current activities are focused, includes extensive oil and gas pipeline and production refining facilities, thereby allowing quick hook-up and production of gas when a discovery is made. The Aspen staff and consultants have also found representatives of the State of California to be very cooperative and it is not difficult to obtain permits for new exploratory wells or to expand existing production.
Aspen Oil, up 41% since December, was it mentioned here? 6.7 million OS, 3.88 million float. Little debt, PE 18, other fundamentals not too shabby. Haven't checked on their plans for growth, very small company right now. Closed at $3.46.

Just my opinion, but I think the early PR's were too optimistic on timing of sales. The important thing is, they haven't diluted much so they weren't looking for a pump and dump, I just think any nano applications for any substantial clay volume is a couple of years away, if at all.
Snap Hook, thanks, I don't know that much about the "biz". Do you know if they typically frac coal bed wells to up production, or can that only be done on deeper wells?
Sam, call the VMH Transfer Agent, I think they are dumping shares this afternoon to buy more movies! Buyers at 17 cents down almost 50% in a couple of hours, only 100% increase needed to get back up!
tenzzi, Thanks, gee, under "New Releases", DUH! LOL!
Doubloon, I think it was three rigs? Maybe in the analysis' report.
Videomoviehouse only lists a bunch of old movies! What's wid dat?
http://www.videomoviehouse.com/rentals/search.php?Search=Action&Title=
I like this part, and want MORE!!! I wonder what they expect the producing life to be? Only 1500 feet, pretty cheap wells to drill, IMO.
The Company has also announced an update of its current drilling operations in Kansas. The Company has drilled its first two Coal Bed Methane gas wells in Montgomery County, Kansas. The two wells, the Edds South "27" #1 and the Allee "27" #1, were drilled to a depth of approximately 1,500 feet, wherein both wells penetrated a number of potentially productive coal seams. Based on logs, the Company has set 4 1/2" production casing, and completion operations for both wells have begun. The Company believes these wells should be capable of producing in commercial quantities and expects them to be connected to a sales line within the next month.
Hey! Maybe FASC should buy Videomoviehouse!
Purl Gurl, looks like an archive is under construction at the web site for the older PR's.
Shoot, ptrey, we've got that many corn squeezin's stills in our county, probably the same size as those Palm Oil Mills! Probably as many meth labs too! LOL!
Purl Gurl, here's the purchase order:

Atlas Mining Company Receives Major Purchase Order From NanoDynamics
Leading Nanotechnology Company Places Orders for up to 5,000 Tons of Halloysite Clay
Osburn, Idaho, February 9, 2005, Atlas Mining Company (OTCBB: ALMI), announced today that it has received a purchase order for up to 5,000 tons of its processed halloysite clay from NanoDynamics at a price of $500 per ton. NanoDynamics has already remitted a purchase of 500 tons against this purchase order.
William Jacobson, CEO of Atlas Mining said, “It’s clear to see why we are excited about our relationship with NanoDynamics. They have taken a serious interest in our halloysite microtubules and obviously feel they have a market for this product in the nanotechnology sector. Although the purchase order is opened ended and does not require full purchase, we feel we will be supplying them with more product in 2005.”
The company’s Dragon Mine halloysite clay contains naturally occurring halloysite nanotubes, which formed in the earth from hydrothermal alteration and surface weathering of aluminosilicate minerals. Like carbon nanotubes, halloysite nanotubes are long, hollow tubes, allowing them to store and deliver a variety of materials. Unlike carbon nanotubes, the naturally occurring halloysite nanotubes are inexpensive, readily available in quantity, environmentally benign, safe and easy to process.
A strategic and collaborative relationship between the two companies was previously announced. Under that agreement Atlas agreed to issue a one-year warrant to Nano Dynamics to purchase up to 1 million shares of Atlas common stock. Both companies will work toward the advancement and commercialization of halloysite tubules in nanotechnology applications.
According to Keith Blakely, NanoDynamics CEO, “We hope to develop several significant applications for the microtubules in the near term and expect to take delivery of a significant quantity of halloysite clay this year. We anticipate that the volumes of product used in these emerging applications will take some time to develop, but our hope is that the demand will increase as product testing, customer validations, and qualifications are completed throughout the year. We have dedicated the right people to this process and anticipate a positive result.”
About Atlas Mining Company: Atlas Mining Company is a diversified natural resource company with its primary focus on the development of the Dragon Mine in Juab County, Utah, the only known commercial source of halloysite clay outside of New Zealand. The unique purity and quality of the Dragon mine halloysite is unmatched anywhere in the world and has spawned considerable research into new and exciting applications for this product. Atlas also holds mining and timber interests in Northern Idaho, and operates an underground mining contracting business. Atlas stock trades on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol "ALMI". More information about Atlas Mining Company can be found at www.atlasmining.com.

Purl Gurl, it's in the Board Info above (if you don't see it, click on "Show Board Info").
Did Bill Jacobson say this (from above)? Plus I think the Purchase Order PR for 5000(?) tons was pretty misleading.
"Our US distributor has assured us of 5,000 to 8,000 tons annually. Our Oriental distributor has committed to purchase 500 tons monthly of our product at $445 per ton. The best results of our exploring the potential markets was the results of experimenting with our product by the US Naval Research Lab in Washington DC. The Navy has patented a microtubular process wherein the tubes can be injected with a anti-fungal agent and put into paint that will help eliminate barnacle buildup on boats. The microtubulars were initially manufactured synthetically, but it was found that the micro structure of our halloysite clay compares to the synthetic molecule very well. Other natural products tested did not compare as well, including the New Zealand halloysite. It is our intention to put the Dragon Mine into production before yearend. According to sources at the Naval Research Lab, the paint industry will in the position to place order for our product by later this summer."
GLW keeps on rockin'
Does Wiener collect patents? I bet he has a huge ball of string in his back yard. Wonder why the patent holders can't sell them to the big companies for big bucks?
SSKILLZ1, put a limit order on CSPI at $9 before I left the house. Got filled, then dropped! Thought I screwed up your portfolio! LOL! Seems to be coming back this PM.
OT: Amazing story, your enemy is my enemy?
Lions Rescue, Guard Beaten Ethiopian Girl
By ANTHONY MITCHELL
Associated Press Writer
ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — A 12-year-old girl who was abducted and beaten by men trying to force her into a marriage was found being guarded by three lions who apparently had chased off her captors, a policeman said Tuesday.
The girl, missing for a week, had been taken by seven men who wanted to force her to marry one of them, said Sgt. Wondimu Wedajo, speaking by telephone from the provincial capital of Bita Genet, about 350 miles southwest of Addis Ababa.

She was beaten repeatedly before she was found June 9 by police and relatives on the outskirts of Bita Genet, Wondimu said. She had been guarded by the lions for about half a day, he said.
"They stood guard until we found her and then they just left her like a gift and went back into the forest," Wondimu said.
"If the lions had not come to her rescue, then it could have been much worse. Often these young girls are raped and severely beaten to force them to accept the marriage," he said.
Tilahun Kassa, a local government official who corroborated Wondimu's version of the events, said one of the men had wanted to marry the girl against her wishes.
"Everyone thinks this is some kind of miracle, because normally the lions would attack people," Wondimu said.
Stuart Williams, a wildlife expert with the rural development ministry, said the girl may have survived because she was crying from the trauma of her attack.
"A young girl whimpering could be mistaken for the mewing sound from a lion cub, which in turn could explain why they didn't eat her," Williams said.
Ethiopia's lions, famous for their large black manes, are the country's national symbol and adorn statues and the local currency. Despite a recent crackdown, Hunters also kill the animals for their skins, which can fetch $1,000. Williams estimates that only 1,000 Ethiopian lions remain in the wild.
The girl, the youngest of four siblings, was "shocked and terrified" after her abduction and had to be treated for the cuts from her beatings, Wondimu said.
He said police had caught four of the abductors and three were still at large.
Kidnapping young girls has long been part of the marriage custom in Ethiopia. The United Nations estimates that more than 70 percent of marriages in Ethiopia are by abduction, practiced in rural areas where most of the country's 71 million people live.

Holy Cow! Look at the fundamentals on this one! CSPI, low OS, low float, no debt, decent cash.
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/ks?s=CSPI
CESV filed the split, but didn't PR the split? Can't find any PR at Yahoo.
Doubloon, Geezus! What if it were pizza orders instead of stock! LMAO!
TRCPA, so the Malaysian partners are financing 100% and including FASC in profits because they like them? If that is true, then FASC better get the word out because the Street isn't impressed right now. And those in the know aren't bothering to buy. This is headed back under 3 cents and you guys are talking like it's GE.
Doubloon, ahhhhh you played chicken with the MM's and the MM's won! Was that your buy near the close? Maybe I can double the daily volume one day this week! LOL!
Where did FASC get funds to build a JV power plant? They couldn't even build the Zeolite plant on their own. I don't think they are sharing the power revs or they would have pumped that to death! Profit on the KDS JV? Deduct the manufacturing costs, local payroll, and trips to Malaysia and you're lucky to see a breakeven, IMO.
beischens, give a guesstimate on the pps by Friday, try to low-ball! LOL!
beischens, FASC is probably just an equipment supplier, why would they get a "cut" of generation revenue? They never PR'ed or said anything in filings about being a partner in a power plant nor do they have funds to "partner up". Would a boiler supplier get a cut too?
I think FASC has diluted so much, no one is interested right now, especially in some far off operations that really can't be verified. Plus insiders got ready to dump some more just prior to the news. They should have set up the Zeolite plant in some far off place too so investors couldn't check on it.
Buy at 0.033?? 0.03 X 0.031 now, did you get filled?
I think Scottrade mey be screwed up on the time/trades.
No trades since 10:24 AM, that would be funny if it wasn't so sad. Bet the new 4 cent bagholders aren't happy campers. They need a follow-up fluffie, IMO.
Setonian, I think you got an email or maybe a private message prior to the news! I didn't get any insider info like the rest of you! But that's OK, the pps isn't doing much and I might have been tempted to load up! LOL!
