brikk I just ran a Performance chart with some other players in the hurricane influenced sector, with DPDW NSMG WEGI IPII ADDL and deep down had the greatest base built so far out of all the stocks.
here is the link, also check out the bar chart not only the line chart:
http://stockcharts.com/charts/performance/perf.html?dpdw,nsmg,wegi,ipii,addl
$23,000+ just got up on the time and sales, someone is accumulating here and its not with chump change.
for all the new members on here and new investors in Deep Down here is a chart I created with the annotated portions being the PR's released lately. We are due for some strong NEWS and, as you can see from the chart, this stock is in a stage where the manipulation from MM's is between these PR's where they try to rack up inventory but NEWS trumps all, and we are due for some any time now. This stock does love Thursday's and Friday's for PR's, think that $23,000+ order knows something or anticipates something? this is not a stock you want to flip, because its will cost you more when you are chasing.
thank you for adding that brikk, and there you have it mamphusmojo, the classic walkdown strategy
hello mamphusmojo and welcome to the board, congrats on your accumulation of DPDW. here you have found a great stock that constinently underpromises and overperforms. I'm not quite sure what you mean by uneducated or foolish trading, since this is your money and you should not be willing to throw your money to the wind (MMs) with a hasty decision.
MM manipulation is evident if you just watch the L2 for a moment, an example is 500 shares at the bid will walk the ask down and in turn after a couple of small orders at the bid, make it seem as if the stock is going down and there is much selling, when in reality it is the MMs "walking down" the PPS to raise there own inventories of a stock that they know is valuable and the more they can accumulate at lower levels to sell at a higher level the better for them, obviously. I hope you are aware that Market Makers do hold inventories of stocks so this manipulation is only in their best interest. You can also see how most of the time it is one or two MMs doing this and they will sometimes be on the bid (0.64)and ask (0.71), this generates much capital for them throughout the day and for you and me creates a liquid but frustrating setup.
So before a hasty decision is made look at the COMPANY, and know what you own. If you have any questions, me or someone else who has done extensive DD for the board will be glad to help you out.
Welcome to the board. relax
one of these for everyone today, on the house
good morning
*sets up java machine*
neither I brikk, glad the longs know what they own here, and accumulate on the dips
check out the action on camera 2, and another angle from camera 4, looks like the orders just keep coming in and these are not small pieces, in fact they must be lifted and moved by a small crane and looks like the pieces on camera 3 are getting done
orders = $$$$
note on these small shakes: they are great to add on the dips
loading some more here for the start of this week
nice post break, great discussion here today, I will be updating the chart with anything new this week
welcome to the board, long positions is where its at with this stock
yes sir, brikk I would be watching the L2 very very closely from here until close, Deep Down does love fridays, being that 3 of the last six PR's came on a Friday, and we have had no news since the Mako Technologies announcement, and that was on the 21st of June
you never know who is behind the computer
hello all, I have been adding all week, notice how the company has been really quite lately, I believe something is up for either late today or early next week, imho
thank you krunk, i appreciate the kind words
yes you are right, i have fat fingers i guess, we are looking for 2nd quarter results,my apologies
Good morning all, and welcome to the board here Sabre68, you will find this is a great group of guys and we have complimentary drinks for all the longs, including DD cookies and all. here have some
shows you the quality of our management team and the way this company has been performing. We are waiting on a couple of things but building a nice base here. We are waiting for 3rd Q results due out in August, any possible hurricane that might come through The Gulf of Mexico and Deep Down Serivices be needed, the definitive purchase agreement on Mako Technologies, etc. etc.
Again welcome to the board

Quality Post there brikk,I have created and have been updating that chart for that sole purpose. Technical Analysis is the cousin of Fundamental Analysis and for a company that is not growing at the rate (in all they ways you can think: acquistions, transitions, sales, order processing, etc.)that Deep Down Inc. is Technical Analysis is great and can sometimes be followed to the T. But in this case it is in a stage where NEWS trumps all and the chart that I have posted clearly shows this through its annotation.
Much knowledge floats around on this board and with this good group of investors we can all help each other. We are building a solid base for when the acquistions, possible uplisting, hurricane hits, Quarters are out, etc. Look at how many dynamics still have yet to fuel this stock.
I to do not wish any hurricane damage on anyone, because we have all seen nature's fury, but the truth is we as investors are allowing companies that aid in relief and repair to help the cause, if it should so arise, much like investors buy stock in homeland stocks that assist in homeland security, or earthquake relief, flood damage, fire, etc. we do not wish for these things to happen, but the truth is to provide the best quality these companies need funding, so that when something happens we are prepared.
P.S. I will be updating the chart as necessary and posting it for the board.
CAmera 2,3, and 4 are showing you that people have orders with Deep down and they just keep coming in, check out camera 2 that is a new piece.
Hello davewashdc let me start off by saying welcome to the board.
I read in your post that you are new to the board but I doubt (just from searching your history) that you are new to investing. So as this has been cleared up, let us clear up another golden rule of investing which is "NEWS trumps all."
Now that being said i have created an annotated chart which shows this clearly.
Here they are:
Secondly it has been shown here the way that this management has consistently (as opposed to conveniently) shown us the dynamics of their quality
It is important to read what some post on here since there is much information that can effectively help you with your DD.

much appreciated brikk, like i said before I was going to be posting the links and dates when they became available to me, I was at the University and was using the Article imaging database (where numbers and dates are eliminated to cut down on load and cross-referencing issues).
thank you for posting the links to the DD I had posted, only one small correction the University Database only uses government sites so instead of the generic site http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6869254.html
the information was made available through
http://www.uspatentserver.com/686/6869254_b.html
and one last reply to KRUNK the date of the article was Sept. 27,2004 but is still very much relevant here since the company continues to be one of the world’s largest offshore drilling contractor, provides the most versatile fleet of mobile offshore drilling units to help clients find and develop oil and natural gas reserves. Trading under the symbol (RIG) at 104.28, have to love the potential of this industry.
P.S. apologies to brikk for issues stated above, I am usually very thorough with my information and certainly try to provide links and dates all the time, as you can see from the time of this post I am only getting home now and can use the laptop to find the links and dates now. sorry once again
you are absolutely right brikk, I have done extensive research and DD on both Deep Down and Deep Down's latest acquistion (electrowaveUSA), and even Mako Technologies(LOI), and I can honestly say I have seen nothing to make me subtract any credibility from this company. The market will soon adjust the pps of Deep Down to better reflect the appropriate market value for this extremely undervalued stock.
All my sources can be reviewed as most are government database articles and government owned websites with legit filings. I try to present these things to the board for new members that are stopping by and even for us longs, never hurts to learn something new everyday.
Anything I find I will present. Thanks for reading guys
sorry Krunk I could not find a date on it, I will search and if I find it I will most certain post it
great videos 1step notice how on that clip they were about 200 meters down or 600 ft down.

ABSTRACT
An apparatus for providing an indication of relative movement between sheave assemblies of a riser tensioner that has a sensor target connectable to one of the sheave assemblies, a senor tube cooperative with said sensor target and suitable for interconnection to the other of the sheave assemblies, a metallic member positioned within the sensor tube and suspended by the sensor target, and a an ultrasonic sensor cooperative with the sensor tube so as to sense a distance that the metallic member moves within the sensor tube in relation to relative movement between the sensor target and the sensor tube.
STATEMENT REGARDING FEDERALLY SPONSORED RESEARCH OR DEVELOPMENT
Not applicable.
REFERENCE TO MICROFICHE APPENDIX
Not applicable.
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invèntion relates to riser tensioner systems for use on offshore platforms and more particularly, to riser tensioner systems that absorb oscillatory vertical movements of the platform while supporting the riser. More particularly, the present invèntion relates to sensors associated with such riser tensioner systems. In particular, the present invèntion relates to such sensors that measure wear on the cable in the riser tensioner system and for showing the relative movement of the sheave assemblies used in such riser tensioner systems.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVÈNTION
Increased oil consumption has lead to exploration and drilling in difficult geographic locations that were previously considered economically unfeasible. As is to be expected, drilling under these difficult conditions leads to problems that are not present under more ideal conditions. For example, an increasing number of exploratory wells are being drilled in deep water, offshore locations in an attempt to locate more oil and gas reservoirs. These exploratory wells are generally drilled from floating platforms, leading to a set of problems peculiar to that environment.
As in any drilling operation, offshore drilling requires that drilling fluid must be circulated through the drill bit to cool the bit and to carry away the cuttings. This drilling fluid is normally delivered to the drill bit through the drill string and returned to the floating vessel through an annulus formed between the drill string and a large diameter pipe, commonly known as a riser. The riser typically stands between a subsea wellhead assembly and the floating vessel and is sealed against water intrusion.
The lower end of this riser is connected to the wellhead assembly adjacent the ocean floor, and the upper end usually extends through a central located opening in the hull of the floating vessel. The drill string extends longitudinally through the riser and into earth formations defined below the water, and drilling fluids circulates downwardly through the drill string, out through the drill bit, and then upwardly through the annular space between the drill string and the riser, thereby returning to the vessel.
As these drilling operations progress into deep waters, the length of the riser and, consequently, its unsupported weight also increases. Riser structural failure may result if compressive stresses is in the elements of the riser exceed the metallurgical limitation of the riser material. Riser tensioner systems are typically used to avoid this type of riser failure.
Riser tensioner systems are installed onboard the platform, and apply an upward force to the upper end of the riser, usually by means of cable, sheaves, and pneumatic cylinder mechanisms connected between the vessel and the upper end of the riser.
FÌG. 1 illustrates one such type of a riser tensioner system as applied to a drilling vessel or drilling platform 1. The drilling vessel or drilling platform 1 comprises a mast 2, to which a drilling string 3 is fastened, which drilling string extends in the direction of the borehole (not shown). The drilling string 3 is virtually completely enclosed by a riser 4. A riser ring 5 is fastened at the top end of the riser 4. Cables 6, by means of which a tensile force can be exerted upon the riser 4, are fastened to the riser ring 5. Two cables 6 are shown in FÌG. 1. In the prior art, it is customary to connect four, six, eight or twelve cables to the riser ring. The cable 6 extends from the riser ring 5 by way of sheaves 10, 11 and 12 in the direction of the cable anchor 13. When the drilling vessel or drilling platform 1 moves relative to the earth's surface, for example, as a result of wave action, the drilling vessel or drilling platform 1 will also move upwards relative to the riser 4. Since the sheaves 11 and 12 are situated on either side of a cylinder 14, these movements of the drilling vessel or drilling platform relative to the riser 4 can be absorbed. When the drilling vessel or drilling platform 1 moves relative to the riser 4, the cylinder 14 will be depressed, with the result that the distance between the sheaves 11 and 12 is reduced in the free end of the cable 6 between the sheave 10 and the riser-tensioner 5 will increase. When the drilling vessel or drilling platform 1 moves in the direction of the riser 4, the opposite will occur.
It is important in the use of such riser tensioners that the riser tensioner does not bottom cut during normal operation. In order to avoid this "bottoming out," the pressure of the pneumatic or hydraulic fluid within the riser tensioner can be increased or decreased, depending upon need. In order to determine the amount of pressure that must be applied to avoid this "bottoming out," it is important to continually monitor the relative movement between the sheaves 11 and 12 so that movement beyond a desired limit is avoided. For example, in rough sea conditions, it is important to increase the amount of pressure within the cylinder 14 so as to prevent the "bottoming out."
Throughout the motion of the riser tensioner, the cable is subjected to a great deal of wear and tear. Wear and tear is typically measured in terms of "ton-miles." To avoid cable failure after excessive usage, it is important to have a determination of the amount of wear applied to the cable over time. This measure will typically be based upon the amount of fluid pressure within the cylinder 14, and the total amount of movement of the cable over the sheaves 11 and 12 over a period of time.
It is an object of the present invèntion to provide a riser tensioner sensor system which can effectively provide an indication of cable wear.
It is another object of the present invèntion to provide a riser tensioner sensor which can continuously monitor relative movement of the sheave assemblies with respect to each other.
It is a further object of the present invèntion to provide a riser tensioner system which provides immediate and reliable feedback to the operator of the offshore platform.
It is still a further object of the present invèntion to provide a riser tensioner sensor system which is very durable, even in the extreme environmental conditions of the offshore oil platform.
It is a further object of the present invèntion to provide a riser tensioner sensor assembly which is easy to use, relatively inexpensive and easy to install.
These and other objects and advantages of the present invèntion will become apparent from a reading of the attached specification and appended claims.
Those are great objectives that will definitely open up a new market for Deep Down and allow us to function in an area where few have the technology to go.
I just finished looking through the patent form filed by ElectrowaveUSA, going through the detailed description, the claims form, abstract/background, and the summary/drawings. I must say this is a very impressive invention.
thank you brikk, the more I search the better things I find.
check this out:
did you know that electrowave was awarded the contract for the design and installation of the retrofit program for a Transocean deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig, the Transocean Richardson. Transocean is the world's largest offshore drilling contractor with a fleet of 95 Mobile Offshore Drilling Units, (MODUs).
here is the complete article:
Unique Level-Sensing Technology from TMS Selected for Mission-Critical Ballast Monitoring and Control Aboard Transocean's Semi-Submersible Drilling Rig
Business Wire
PORTLAND, Ore. -- TMS, manufacturer of liquid level and specific gravity monitoring and control products, announced today the selection of their improved "bubbler" sensing technology as part of a retrofit program for a Transocean deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig, the Transocean Richardson. Transocean is the world's largest offshore drilling contractor with a fleet of 95 Mobile Offshore Drilling Units, (MODUs).
The accurate monitoring and control of ballast tanks is critical to the safety and continued operation of MODUs. Ballast is used to counteract the forces of nature exerted on MODUs to maintain a safe, firm and level drilling platform.
The contract for the design and installation of the retrofit was awarded to ElectroWaveUSA, a premier supplier of Ballast Control and Tank Level Monitoring systems, who has also delivered TMS technology-based systems to Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc. and Atwood Oceanics, Inc.. Ron Nance, VP of Marine Products at ElectroWaveUSA, prefers the TMS technology, saying, "TMS has successfully supplied their LevelCom sensors for many ships and MODUs. Their sensors are robust and extremely accurate and they are the best I've used over the past 32 years of building ballast control systems."
About TMS
Founded in 1987, TMS manufactures liquid level and specific gravity monitoring and control products primarily for the marine, oil and gas, and wastewater markets. TMS developed an improved "bubbler" sensing technology to obtain accurate measurements under adverse conditions that would render other sensing technologies ineffective. TMS also excels in design-build control systems and offers a series of proven automation sub-systems. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, TMS is a privately-funded company. For more information, please visit us at www.tms-usa.com.
