Abc insiders need more time to buy more shares of mrib.
If you get a set top box let me know what you think, I'd be curious to know your impressions, good luck.
Where do you see the next support level at?
That sounds nice, I'm a whiskey scotch guy myself. Interesting you like it. I wonder if they'll make those little sampler bottles?
He dr b, have you ever used an over the whatevertheycallit box? Reason I'm asking is because the interfaces on these devices are IMO waaaay better than DVD app interfaces.
I have an HDTV with built in Netflix, Hulu, amazon etc, an Xbox with all of the above plus VUDU and more, a Panasonic Blu ray with these apps as well. I NEVER use my Blu ray player to stream video because the Xbox interface is so much easier to navigate. If my Xbox isn't on I use the built in TV apps.
I also have an older appletv in a spare bedroom that is way easier to use than the Blu ray apps.
If you got a roku, appletv, Xbox, playstation I think you'd use it a lot more than your DVD player.
In regards to satellite, I just dumped my cable service because I discovered my ota channels are as good or better (Hd) than my cable was. I don't miss the $175+ bill. I kept my Internet and reduced my bill to $55 this month. Any show I regularly watch gets watched a day later on Hulu. I only miss being able to skip commercials when watching live TV.
I would recommend you buy an np-1 because it allows you to take advantage of 4k when you decide to get a uhdtv. Your a good candidate for the np-1 because you haven't spent the $ on other devices like I have. For me in my position I won't buy an np-1 until I buy a seiki to replace my HDTV which will get moved to the master bedroom.
Me likey
Yup, I had an order in at .009. Anything down here a bargain.
I was responding to the SEC filings that were being touted as evidence. It basically comes down to who do you want to believe - reputable sources like the WSJ or Bloomberg or blog and magazine articles that can be dug up leaving Lowe's name off.
I thought you were selling?
They don't even list Hastings as a co founder, lol. It's not a history report.
Bloomberg on Mitch Lowe, co-founder of Netflix. 8 min mark:
http://mobile.bloomberg.com/video/reed-hastings-revealed-bloomberg-game-changers-xL8E0K5VSfC~~cB0AIlTLw.html
Who do we believe? Nuubie, sozer, or Bloomberg? That's a tough one..
"Quarterly Co. Appoints Netflix Co-Founder and Former Redbox Executive Mitch Lowe as CEO"
http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-20130618-905307.html
You should notify the Wallstreet Journal they posted fraudulent info about Mitch Lowe. It's all over the internet "CO-FOUNDER of NETFLIX". duh
Prove he wasn't. What was your source, Wikipedia? lol
That'd be interesting. In the meantime why don't you tell us what he would say? Not as interesting.
xanadu, I don't have PM privs:
Thanks very much. I love how this video illustrates how Mitch Lowe saw a niche in the entertainment market when <1% of consumers owned dvd players and the players cost on average $600, and capitalized on their idea - NETFLIX.
I can imagine the same story being told again when 4K is as common as HD and Mitch Lowe was there again pioneering the 4K revolution just like he did when he started netflix.
I know Mr. Lowe see's 4K as THE NEXT BIG THING in the entertainment market, which is why he has chosen to work with NTEK, a pioneer in delivering 4K to the masses.
Exciting times for NTEK shareholders.
"Our bringing on Mitch Lowe has already produced meetings with Sony and other studios in this realm. "
So, we'll see how the alleged SONY/NETFLIX talks pan out.
It's my opinion that the Netflix 4K library only helps NTEK with their NP-1 sales at this time. It's too early to tell who's going to "win" here. The NP-1 is the only device that can stream at such low bandwidths, time will tell if the other manufacturers can figure that out. I would think it's just a matter of time before they do figure it out. But until someone else does figure it out, I can see a lot of non NP-1 devices getting returned (and then buying an NP-1) when consumers realize they can't actually watch any 4k streaming content because their home bandwidth can't support the stream. Oh wait, there aren't any other streaming 4K streaming devices out there yet.
To early to tell, it's all speculation at this point. One can say that NTEK is in a very good position in the 4k streaming market right now. This still remains a solid long play for me right now. Patience is a virtue.

TECH RESPONSE TO HGTV REVIEW
ITS WHAT I SAID EARLIER, IF YOU COMPARE THE NP1 to ant player with 2 HDMI THEN YOU NEED TO TAKE THE NPH1 that would be apples to apples
Overall the NP1 is the BEST in streaming 4k Period!
Here the Tech response!
The reviewer has a biased towards high end home theatre enthusiasts and not the average consumer. To this end, his comparison is disingenuous because the proper comparison would have been the NP-H1 to the Sony player and not the NP-1 to the Sony player. The NP-H1 and Sony device have similar configurations and support. The NP-H1 is also in the same price range as the Sony player. You don't need a second HDMI cable for anything other than audio for a legacy receiver. All modern receivers support audio through the HDMI. The reviewer is suggesting that someone spending thousands of dollars on a new TV (a minimum spend of $3,000 for the Sony TV and Player) would not be willing to spend a few hundred more to upgrade their receiver to support audio through HDMI. I think that is not a realistic assumption.
The NP-1 is a streaming device, and is targeted at the average consumer of UHDTV. Most of these consumers will be connecting the NP-1 directly to the TV HDMI input and allowing the Audio to directly connect to the TV as well. For those that are going to connect it to a receiver, we believe most of those consumers will opt for a new receiver that supports 4K switching and HDMI audio. For those that don't, a simply $29 splitter can be used to support legacy audio equipment and the NP-1 is still far less expensive than the Sony solution, and works with any TV.
The NP-1 supports Netflix so there will be no disparity of content. With Sony's recent closing of their entire digital studio, we believe that the Sony 4K content will be made available later this year on other platforms. Our bringing on Mitch Lowe has already produced meetings with Sony and other studios in this realm.

Subject: HDTV MAGAZINE REVEw
Hi
As an investor I am concerned about this revew
I was wondering how the tech people and the sales people weigh the HDTV revew of the NP1 compare to SONYs player
I believe a explanation from a tech to the investors is needed and desired by investors
Thanks

THANKS NANOTECH FOR THE AS ALWAYS SUPERB FAST RESPONSE!
I think it's very positive for the NP-1. As an earlier poster noted in a response from IR, the article was written by a magazine that targets high end video and audio products, a better comparison would have been to review the NP-H1. Regardless, the average consumer such as myself would have no issues with one HDMI output for audio. I am not a tekkie audiophile. At a $299 price tag, I anticipate brisk sales of the NP-1 relative to the increased sales of UHDTV's in 2014.

The $299 NP-1 should have broad appeal to those seeking the best 50-55" HDTV they can buy under $2K. If they are able to see a Seiki 50" UHDTV on the wall with an $299 NP-1 hooked up to it next to the $2000+ HDTV's on the wall, the savvy consumer will undoubtedly be home doing some research on 4k TV's. That's where the reviews (starting with the reviewers who were just sent NP-1's from NTEK) and consumer reviews are going to shine.
Without a large budget line for advertising, I believe NTEK is being pretty smart about the way they are rolling out the NP-1's and UltraFlix. It's going to take time. Capturing even a small % of the UHDTV consumer market in 2014 will still be huge for the company. Content contracts will be HUGE, they are doing all the right things IMO.
"First launched at the 2013 CES, CEA now forecasts Ultra HDTV unit shipments will increase eightfold in 2014 to reach 485 thousand units and surpass $1 billion in revenue for the first time this year, according to CEA’s semi-annual, U.S. Consumer Electronics Sales and Forecast (January 2014)."
Let's get those NP-1's hooked up to those box store UHDTV Units!
Netflix 4K content only succeeds in helping NP-1 sales, especially when reviews reveal that the content can only be streamed at less than 10mps with an NP-1.
Prospective UHDTV shopper sees NP-1, salesperson shows UltraFlix, Netflix, Moving Murals apps/channels, then shows the $299 price tag - SOLD.
“Ultra HDTV consumer adoption will be a case of ‘seeing is believing,’” says Rhonda Daniel, senior manager, market research, CEA. “The technology offers an incredibly immersive viewing experience with superior picture quality. Experiencing the technology in person is a critical component to drive consumer interest in adopting Ultra HD as their next television.”
BIG things coming for NTEK longs. In the words of sir Niko, "Patience=Wealth".

Guys this page has been around for a while, the new site will be ultraflix.com
Hmm an NP-H1 being used:
"This dedicated theater in Boulder is the first of only 3 in the state to feature the new JVC reference series 4K eShift3 projector and 110 Stewart film screen. There are six zones of lighting including a fiber optic star field controlled via a Lutron Grafik eye and RTI T2X remote. Integra surround receiver and blu-ray, DirecTV DVR, and future plans for addional 4K media. The image seen above is 4K2K content delivered from a Nuvola NP-H1 4K media server."

Where's your proof it didn't come out for Christmas? Still have yet to see it.
It did.
You have proof of that alleged lie- links, screenshots?
Nice. Exciting times for NTEK fans.

Good job tks.
Good job tks.
An exerpt
"NanoTech Entertainment has confirmed product availability of their Nuvola NP-1 4K player that claims to be compatible with all UHDTVs regardless of brand, as opposed to the proprietary player/TV pairing setup Sony has done with their current 4K media player (FMP-X1) and their UHDTVs/4K Projectors, which limits their 4K media player connectivity to only Sony UHDTVs/4K Projectors.
The other 4K player competitor, the $1750 Red Ray 4K player, has been unavailable for over a year after their “reserve your unit” announcement in late 2012 with an original price of $1400+. According to an email I received from the manufacturer last week: “The unit is available on our website with an estimated ship date of 2 – 3 weeks… and we are not distributing units for review at this time”. I still hope they are going to deliver a player as promised and that it will be successful, as well as Odemax, their 4K content provider partner, because the 4K market needs more content and players to play it, not just UHDTVs.
When considering the three 4K player options the Sony 4K player is the only one that is available for purchase on stores, if the Nuvola NP-1 will actually be made available as announced (being announced since May 29, 2013) it appears to be the best deal in price and compatibility, for now, and it was honored recently with a Storage Visions® 2014 Visionary Product Award in the Home Entertainment"

Hdtvmagazine.com write up on NP-1 just the beginning. NP-1 reviews are going to slaughter the competition. Good to be NTEK, good to be a shareholder $$$$.
IR (partial) response to "Who actually has access to UltraFlix?..."
"NP-1 users. NP-H1 is coming middle of next month. Web Browsers the end of Next Month. Smart TV's coming in April. A few thousand end users have NP-1 units. Several reviewers, and retail managers and training people have them. Subscribers to UltraFlix started viewing yesterday....
UltraFlix.com will be updated soon to show content, and in March will allow viewing on 4K capable computers.
..."
mmmm $ NTEK
Good stuff here, I was kinda hopin that we'd see a bit of panic selling & shorting before anymore news comes out to watch em burn but it's all good.
Omg really? Just google it: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soft_launch
dd.
Correct.
If no pr tomorrow I'm looking forward to buying your shares. Anyone crazy enough to sell or short tomorrow has to be nuts.
Look up the definition of soft launch..
Whoa there buddy, neither df nor ntek led anyone to believe what you were expecting. You have to be able to separate facts and baseless speculation on your own. Go to the source for your own info- ir at ntek. Do your own dd.
The moving murals are going be huge IMO, I'd have my tv on 24/7 streaming these images when I'm not using the TV for anything else. Can't get this extensive library anywhere else in the world. Ntek exclusive. Ntek foresight.
If that is what they meant by launch I wholeheartedly agree with you. People tend to focus in on hyped dates forgetting the big picture that is unfolding in front of them.
