What is the health of QTMM? Only a select few really know that answer. I can tell you from my own involvement as a shareholder what I think. I don’t work for the company but that doesn’t mean I can’t provide assistance laying ground work in other areas. I do wish we were further ahead of the current known status, but for all we know we may be. I personally thought we would be further ahead than where we are at this point. That’s the fact. I see new kinds of related technologies getting discussed and written up but they aren’t any further ahead other than they are published. They too are prototypes still in research and development phase, none of them are in mass production. This technology is so new and there are so many variations within it that it’s hard to say who will come out on top. The sooner a product comes to market the better one will be. Seeing the milestones come and go is frustrating, and disheartening when there is no mention week after week. But the fact they haven’t pulled the plug and have gone the other way expanding their personnel provides a clue into the future. What respectable salesman would sign up with a company without having a product to sell? Even if they weren’t respectable who in their right mind would waste their time trying to set up a sales force or be involved selling something that is fish fodder, not on one continent but on three continents? There’s more going on behind the scene than what we see happening. That is evident with some of the press releases that have come out recently. Rice is the concern for me holding all the cards. However, they obviously have a working relationship between them and Rice stands to make a phenomenal amount on royalties, far exceeding what they signed the contract for. So for them to go elsewhere would be rather foolish at this point. I think they know just from the solar side the production amount and income will be very significant. Is it moving in the right direction? Of course it is, it just isn’t moving fast enough or as of today in the right direction, and that is more about the price of the stock than anything else. If this was at $.50 pretty much everyone would be happy, but it’s not and it’s looking like the whole market is going to be going south. So we aren’t alone, nor happy about it. I’m staying for the ride. I still believe in the company and the potential their product(s) possesses. Could I have made more investing somewhere else during this past year, yes, but I didn’t. I still at todays price doubled my money so how upset can I be. I got into this stock knowing full well this startup/developmental company was a buy and hold. It’ll take IMO two years at the current pace to show significant improvement. That could collapse by a year with the right news. Remember, the original business plan is still a five year development phase, so they aren’t going to be that far off from their original projections when it's all said and done.
I did get a reply about the Quaternary process and Jabbour is not tied into it. Their growth process is Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) based and typical quantum dots are made in solution phase chemistry. The growth of quaternary alloy in tetrapod form sounded like it could have been the piece of the puzzle to increase the efficiency to the levels needed for parity. Doesn't look like it is compatible with Solterra's process at this time or in the forseeable future. If Jabbour is not on board it isn't going to happen using this Quaternary process.
Free,
"Veritas et Visus" looks like only two references to Solterra from the past articles they posted and it apppears they may be old press release related, 2008 and 2009 time periods.
Loved the 2365 post for Ning and Pan research on the Quarternary. That could be huge if there is a tie here. I'm waiting to hear from Ning if there is a relationship between the Tetrapod QD and the CdSe QD he addresses in his paper. If so since this is a fairly recent development it would be a major advance forward for Solterra. The fact they mention improving the efficiency of the solar cells and they are at ASU is very encouraging. How it would fit in with the mass production process of QD's with the Access2flow process would be interesting to know also. If I hear back I'll let you know.
D5 - that India Times Article was a translation discrepancy. The article was the JETRO press release.
QD film - just another use:
D5,
They know about the other QMC at the conference and are looking into what's going on. QMC/Solterra will only be presenting and they do not have a booth.
ION22k,
I'm with you. It isn't like the deadline for filing isn't known. I think it really reflects negatively on the company. Once or twice beginning is acceptable to some degree but if the CFO can't do it then Steve needs to get someone that can do it correctly. It seems like a trait of our CFO, I noticed this with the last delisting we had and for other company's that he has filed for in the past. Needless to say it's his job to do it right and if he can't, a CFO that can should be acquired.
On a more positive note by listing on the Berlin Exchange it offers European investors the opportunity to invest in and to trade the Company's shares.
European investors, especially in the German-speaking region, are conservative, longer term shareholders interested in stocks that show strong potential for high gains. The day trading ratio in Germany is less than 10% of total trading. So I read. This listing should assist in the fulfillment of the strategic positioning of Solterra's and QMC's technology in the global marketplace making the important European and international investment communities more accessible.
A negative is QTMM may not even know they were listed and there are no regulations on that naked short selling of shares. This should be very interesting seeing how the two stock exchanges trend against each other and if one gives telltale signs of where the other is headed that day or the next.
Crunch - My wife and I will definitely take you up on that offer. Based on current info it's going to be next year. I'm wanting it so so so much sooner. But I'll take better late then never.
I tried to get as much punch in as possible with the least amount of words. Not perfect but close enough to get the message across about Solterra.
Crunch thanks for post 2206. I was able to extract some key words to better focus in on the message I want to get across in a document I'm currently working on. All the posts and links are providing more justifications we are in the right investment vehicle. This IS the only productive board providing useful supporting information. Thanks to P19 and D5 for managing it. Our day will come Duke, we just don't know when, that's why it's a buy and hold. With the potential powder keg we are invested in I would be sick to my stomach if I missed the type of opportunity that comes across so very few times. Examples being Rimm, ask Barrymore about his 1/2 program being effective at creating life changing $$$ for him investing in that penny stock, or Intel, MSFT etc of technology taking off and the stock following. Particularly one as ripe and in an environment so conducive to be assimilated into so many different industry uses.
GLTA
D5 - Don't read too much into the other blocks on that form. They are always on the late filing form. I'm not getting any hopes up with this filing, we have more yardage to go before TOUCHDOWN!
Trevor, INKN imo was a pump, I started tracking that a month ago and stopped. It was inknd then and 4 times higher at ~ .80 than it is now at .20. I would do a lot more research on them first before doing anything.
Wooferwax,
Yes, a GW of cells would put us in lots of black provided Solterra had the means to get them into the end product or if it was from an independent buyer, but I don't believe that is going to be the case in the near term. Right now all we know is they have been approved for a major solar farm somewhere in Saudi Arabia. That info we got during the carbon credit press release. But that great info still doesn't mean we have the end product. Half the cost of a solar panel is the hardware and then the cells, I know we will kick butt in the cell part and that should translate somewhat to the panel as well. But we still need to have the whole package, inverter's and all. So with those costs still hanging over Solterra's head I think Steve was right on the company continuing to show a loss, that was in the 14c where he made reference to a loss for the next year. So we still have a few quarters left. One can take that as negative but I personally take that as a positive for several reasons: It shows he isn't unrealistic in his projected time line, He understands what it will take to bring everything together, He's not pumping the company to inflate the stock price with fluff press releases, he's not providing false hopes to the investors. For me that is worth more in the long run, building a sustainable growth company rather than a pump and dump scheme to inflate the stock price. I'm in for the long haul so for me it's in line with my investment strategy, for day traders it's not so good.
I think there is a better chance of License income than individual TQ-Dot income. I think the dots produced for the test runs would be more of a "puppy dog" close type of sales tactic. They are given away instead of sold to the research labs and facilities to advertise them and their superior quality. Once they run their tests the "puppy dog" is they don't want to give or go back to the substandard quality dot they had before. Depending on the product they are tested for and the quantity they would need, the objective would be to get the company to buy a license to mass produce the TQ-dots they would need. I say the company will go into mass production of the dots when they need them for the mass production of the solar cells. At that time they will offer the dots for sale. That's not to say they aren't working on a factory, I believe a facility would be in the ASU Research park area. It only makes sense. Their office is there, the lab is there, Dr. Jabbour is there and can direct operations I included 2010 as a year of no revenue because Mr Squires had said they expected to run in the red for the first year. With all the growth they have to do I think he is absolutely correct. I hope I'm wrong.
I doubt highly it will show any income from the TQ-dots. They said there would be a continued loss for 2010. My main reason for no income from the dots is no MSDS sheet exists. Until there is one I'm saying zero on the sheet.
Loved the JETRO connection, I guess the Rice presentation last year did pay off with initial contacts that came to fruition.
If you know anything about volcano's then you know there are tremors before the cataclysmic event erupts into a fire ball of activity. This usual dramatic display is followed by a spewing of new red hot activity culminating into a new form of land mass, adding to its continued growth. Well we have QTMM as the investment volcano for 2011 that is sending out the tremor activity of press releases while the pressure continues to build inside the development and production phase of the process. Some time late fall early winter this should start a pretty dramatic show of fireworks from product development that continues to build into next year. I can't wait to see the amount of amassed interest this company brings to the various industries that will be affected by their technology breakthrough. Key words in this latest press release to me were "broader" and "establishing a presence". Both are significant clues to where this company is headed.

IMO todays down turn should be the beginning of the next leg up. Free you're going to be right one of these days.
I don't see the scenario for shorting the stock that's being talked about. If anything I see the shorts have been covering them selves before the next run up takes place. At least that is what is being reported by FINRA. The last three days we have had more buys than sells and the total short volume is 39,000, which is nothing.

Nice news yesterday, we should get some business today from a few more believers. This is going to really take off once there is some hard product to show and later or early next year numbers will bring the procrastinators around. But that'll be childs play until the institutions start buying.
I think the press releases are going above most of the peoples heads as to what it's about. Energy credits, quantum dot continuous flow processes? They are clueless. Contracts with $ attached they'll understand. Until then we'll keep knocking the float down one investor at a time.
How did Bernie sneak a computer into jail? Good thing he did, he can learn how to make a real company with real product, no Ponzie scheme here. SUNNY MONEY in production when Solterra starts rolling.
Added to Wikinvest under "Technology" in Solar Power
http://www.wikinvest.com/industry/Solar_Power
Technology
Technological advancement in solar power is coming at a rapid fire pace. All along the value chain, manufacturers and suppliers are pushing to squeeze more solar energy out of every dollar invested in solar equipment. Innovation has focused thus far on incremental improvements to the crystalline silicon manufacturing process for the typical PV cell. Advancements have included increasing cell energy efficiency, utilizing thinner wafers, and increasing generating power in low-light. In June 2008, for example, National Semiconductor announced a new technology called "SolarMagic" that can reduce the generating loss from partial light (caused by, say, a cloudy day) by 40%.[59] Going forward, however, the advancement of string-ribbon technology and thin-film technology, two new manufacturing processes designed to drastically reduce the silicon required to make PV cells, could dramatically decrease the cost of new PV cells.
A new nanotechnology based approach using Tetrapod Quantum Dots (TQ-Dots) is under development by companies such as Solterra Renewable Technologies. It is an economical alternative to replace the silicon wafer based solar cells with flexible TQ-Dot solar cells. The cells will not need an external cooling source to keep from overheating or have the silicon disposal problem at the end of service life. TQ-Dot solar cells convert the sun light into useable electricity from multiple excitons instead of heat and have the advantage of generating electricity from UV and infrared wavelengths allowing generation 24/7.[60]
Barrymore- if you're not recommending this because you believe the shorts could run this into the ground then how do you explain that 91.85% of todays trades at a higher price were posted as shorts.

Pretty mindboggling QTMM. That link you posted to tradingmarkets.com is very well ranked and looked at. It has close to 4000 links to it yet we did bubkus today. Earlier in the week I figured for sure 30 cents by the close of weeks end. Sure glad I'm not a betting man.

Everyone is doing their DD this weekend and we'll see a pop on monday, but I know better. QTMM will set the BPIV market free once they set up shop and that market alone will be huge. That was a good article Free posted. Just added more fuel to the fire, or more pressure to the cooker. One of these articles and I believe it will be the one that announces WE HAVE ACTUAL ... will be the Volcano that lets this one loose and be trully disruptive.

This is the kind of news that ROCKS! "The imminent ability to sell stand alone quantum dots in large quantities at attractive pricing into various markets, while continuing to develop breakthrough solar cell technology, undoubtedly will generate significant revenue for Solterra, Quantum Materials Corporation and its shareholders."

Freegrass,
I think this is a big oversight but have no way of verifying it. The current solar panels require a cooling source, H2O is a necessity to keep the panels and cells from overheating. This is supported in your post - "These higher energy photons will be absorbed by the solar cell, but the difference in energy between these photons and the silicon band gap is converted into heat (via lattice vibrations — called phonons) rather than into usable electrical energy." I believe the TQD's solar cell panels will be coolant free, which to me would be another huge plus of the TQD solar system from Solterra. That means they can be placed anywhere! Arrid desert where there is no water source where current silicon cells can't go, we could go. I haven't been able to verify this from Dr. Jabbour but if anyone knows I would be interested in hearing your thoughts.
Waiting for the day.
Next press release? Drawing a blank: funding, another alliance, CEO, facility expansion, contract, IPO/Reverse merger, I don't know.
I think I know why Mr. Squires selected the Name and Ticker symbol that he did, because it will be:

Ripster this is the short sales recorded by Finra the last couple days I converted it to % so we could get a better feel of the amount of selling to buying. Is it naked shorting? Seems to even ~30% all the time. I don't know what would be considered average in the market. I know some would want to take some money at a double or triple but I know of only one that sold a little so far about two weeks ago. That's it, everyone else is holding for the long term benefits.

Hi Specvestor,
I suspect HGUE/Solterra will not get involved with the RFID until they have developed there greater potential in Solar first. That's not to say they won't sell them TQ-Dots. What they want to do most likely is sell the technology/license to the big users and let them have at it collecting the residuals from the licensing. I'm sure when that happens there will be a press release because that will mean there will be an influx of cash coming in. A lot of ground has to be covered yet to make this happen but the last press release added another corner stone to the foundation. http://www.solterrasolarcells.com/media_press_040710.php?ID=06
RFID does sound pretty ground breaking for future 'ease of living'. I hate waiting in lines.
GLTU
How does the math go? 700 million ~2013 so if QMC/Solterra has only a 10% market share as the market leader that's 70 million. The # shares is ~ 80 million so each share would be about a $1 give or take. But most companies price is based on a multiple of 12-15. So if the math works it's around $12 a share. I'm sure I'm wrong in my thinking but thought I'd throw it out for discussion. So in 3 years an .18 cent company COULD possibly be a $12 company. Wouldn't be a bad return! But wait - they are going to license the technology for making TQ-Dots to other companies, so they may have a bigger residual piece of the 700 mill pie. But wait, there's more. That's only half the current company income, by then it should be two seperate income producing companies. Do I double the price again or is it a larger share of the 700 million. But the 700 million was only for QD's sales, not the products they would be used in and sold separately. How do I figure that into the equation. Holy crap there's more, they were only talking about the research and development(R&D)phase, what about the commercialization phase. I'M GOING ON OVERLOAD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
See what sleep deprivation does to you, gets you thinking this could be reality, it is isn't it?
Could HGUE/Solterra technology be the answer to bailing out a fledgling industry? It's from an article written May 2009. http://www.solarfeeds.com/sustainable-virtual-biz/7326-sustainable-solar-technology-innovations-
The last paragraph pretty much sums up where we are headed and where HGUE/Solterra may be able to contribute in the future.
"It doesn't take a futurist guru to predict that most automobiles will one day be fully electric, and solar cells will definitely contribute. And now that we know scientifically that a thin film can capture the wide sunlight range between the states of fluorescent and phosphorescent, solar panels for automobiles and many other innovative uses is one giant step closer to being functional under sunny and/or cloudy skies. Relatively soon, we will have achieved the necessary low costs in sustainable independently powered vehicles; an exciting economic and environmentally historic benchmark in global transportation."
Do you think revenue from the auto industry would be able to help the bottom line when things get Rolling?
Waiting for the next announcement, they like Tuesdays so maybe today is one of those Tuesdays!

Hey Barrymore get your butt back on this board. Your insight to the day traders life was invaluable to many of us, and being successful at it was really impressive. I never day traded and the reference was an analogy I was trying to make between how fast you can loose your money in penny stocks day trading and the house of cards tumbling down. It had nothing what so ever to do with day traders not being welcome on this board. If anyone in particular it certainly wouldn't be you for all you have contributed. Sorry Nuclear Popey if I gave the impression it was a slam to day traders. I fully support the diversity it brings to the table. And I can't think of a better way to know how to learn to trade successfully than learning some of the techniques used successfully. Besides when I do take some of my profits I'm going to need to know how NOT to lose them playing the market. Or are you going silent on the company to accumulate more and using this as an excuse. See we're learning already.
Besides, you may want to read the patent post by Qdot about medical TQ-Dots, another reason us longs are excited. Besides if I sell it'll keep going up and I'm not brave enough to take that chance. The guy in my earlier post that sold his shares at .20 when it first hit .23 came yesterday to say he was sorry he sold. It hasn't dipped low enough for him to get back in.
TechConnect Summit and Expo for Solterra,
What's so important about this conference, it's another meeting, big deal. And that is exactly what it is all about, making BIG DEALS! How do the rich and famous stay rich and famous? By hob knobbing together. Look at Trump, went from millionaire to broke back to multi-millionaire. If that was us we would still be broke. It's all about networking in business and life. Dr. Glass and Steven Squires know that to be fact and that is precisely what they are doing by presenting Solterra at this Expo. Building that foundation of contacts, creating strategic partnerships and networking a future of relationships to grow the companies.
This isn't day trading mentality where you have built a house of cards that can come crashing down at any time. This is long term growth that is being nurtured so in the end you have something of substance. So, on the outside it may look like a fluff press release with no substance to it other than to make noise but underneath is a well calculated plan for substantial growth in the future.

If there was any time you thought about investing and didn’t, this would be the time to rethink that decision. This is the first drop of what will most likely be the waterfall in the future of news about the company accomplishments that will develop in the years to come. Industry advancements in Quantum Dot (QD) technologies that have been developing for the last 20 years are about to be unleashed due to Hague/Solterra's revolutionary process for producing Quantum Dots and their flexible Solar Cells. Dr. Glass and CEO Stephen Squires are taking the adage, What the mind can conceive, man can achieve and making it a reality with this new Nanotechnology that will benefit our earth and mankind in general. Consider owning a part of history in the making before it's another event in the history books you had a chance to capitalize on and didn’t.
Do your DD to make sure it’s environmentally, economically and personally right for you. Go to this link to learn the most important reasons WHY you should consider investing in the Nanotechnology field. http://bit.ly/5ElApo it's case sensitive
Just released this week:
Hague Corp.'s Subsidiary, Solterra Renewable Technologies, Announces the Appointment of Renowned Technologist Dr. Bob Glass as Chief Technical Officer– and - Announces the Appointment of Andrew Robinson to the Newly Created Position of Senior Director Middle East Business Development

HGUE (Quantum Materials Corp) is to the Nano technology field what Amazon.com is to the discount retail field. Only NO ONE knows it yet!
That is about to change in the next few months. HGUE (Quantum Materials Corp) has developed a way to mass produce economically the Tetrapod Quantum Dots. This significant breakthrough allows what no other company has been able to do to date and that is provide commercialization of the QD’s to the various industries in kilogram quantities economically. The subsidiary Solterra Renewable Technologies, Inc. is bringing the solar phase of nanotechnology to the forefront. Solterra will be producing and distributing a Thin Film Quantum Dot PV Solar Cell which is differentiated from other PV cells by a unique technology that results in lower cost, higher efficiency, and broader spectral performance. Solterra's Quantum Dot Solar Cell achieves a dramatically lower manufacturing cost per watt because no vacuum equipment is required, no expensive silicon is required and low-cost screen printing and/or inkjet techniques are used on inexpensive substrates. Secondly, the Solterra Thin Film Quantum Dot Solar Cell has the potential to generate multiple excitons from each proton providing the potential for exponential improvements in conversion efficiency. Third, Solterra's PV cell is not only more efficient in the early morning and late afternoon compared to crystalline silicon PV cells, but it also has the potential to harvest light energy in the infrared and ultraviolet spectra. Solar power at night!
This QD technology is truly revolutionary with uses and applications still being explored that will open doors to advances in medical, aerospace, waste heat recovery, biotechnology & optoelectronics. Are you willing to risk loosing out on the next technology revolution that’s been in the making for some twenty years? At least put it on your radar screen to monitor. Investing in HGUE may make your chance to retire early a possibility or at least a little more luxurious! IMO HGUE is a global play that’s about to pay.

DO YOU THINK THERE IS A LINK? Don't remember if I posted this or not but the Aramco rung a bell again. Solterra and Aramco the LARGEST construction company bar none in the Middle East. Maybe - maybe not. I lean towards maybe a little. For those that don't know his name is Ghassan Jabbour. Flexible solar panel looks pretty good too! http://www.aramcoexpats.com/Articles/Pipeline/Saudi-Aramco-News/Dhahran-Media/4882.aspx
Also, Chris Nelder is following us on TWITTER. In case you don't know Chris writes pretty informative articles on energy. He's an energy analyst, journalist, consultant, and investor. Exposure from him is a way for many more people to "See The Light"!
Next week and the weeks after that, I keep hearing in my mind ka-ching, ka-ching.
Checked TWITTER and they are twittering HGUE and Solterra, more publicity from the volume as P19 said it would as stated in the this link. http://collegestock.com/blog/hgue-could-be-huge/ I'm sure there are more now but I have to hit the hey and count $1 - $2 - $3 ...
Nice to see thing are picking up. Working long long hours. NOT FOR LONG if things keep progressing as they have most recently with the company.
We are talking about new jobs, new markets, economic and social benefits so broad they stretch the imagination. Todays post was a nice surprise! I suspect we are going to have a few more of the nice suprises. Did any one catch the subtle wording used to convey what the future holds in that press release? Unless I'm reading too much into it these words are killer: "Mr. Robinson will focus on promoting alliances and strategic partnerships for the broader application of Solterra's quantum dot and quantum dot solar cell technologies." This is opening up whole new product applications and markets for their sales. NOW THAT IS EXCITING!!!
another subject, I tell everyone, and to do that you have to have a lot of inner conviction its the right thing to do. With these press releases and the 10Q saying until they had the funding they would pretty much remain silent, it's pretty much a lock it's a go for the next phase of development. I've informed people for 8 months, cautiously at first and selectively, over the past two months people I thought would like to have an opportunity or at least a chance for a life changing opportunity from the girls behind the counter that make my lunch at Wawa, a convience store over here, to the trash people at work all the way up to the CEO. I have had no reservations informing them of this companies potential. If they invest it's their decision. I look at it this way, If I don't tell them I'm doing them a dis-service by not giving them the chance to look at it and decide if it's for them. At least they were given the opportunity. One out of every ten I tell I say invests, some of the others will later after it's more founded. Those are the ones that'll help us hit those lofty numbers, double digits? after they jump on the moving QD train. IMO regardless when they buy in they are going to make money in the long run. This puppy is really going to grow!
Once the stock hit the high today of .23 one of my coworkers wanted to test the water and sell when the bid was at .20. We can thank him for it coming off it's high for the day. His broker didn't want him to buy the stock at .07 /.08 and after several months when it was bouncing around and went down between .09 and .10. he had to tell him to buy it. Reluctantly the broker did. He had been told your going to have trouble with such a small volume and float getting out when you want. So today when it was a double for him he sold a small position of 35,000 shares, I said to him I thought you wanted to retire? He said, its only a few, I want to play and see if in the last half hour I can get out while it's up. He was out in 2 minutes along with someone else that sold 15,000 at .20. He's hoping it retracts so he can pick up more with his profits. Either way he's going back in, he wanted to see if what his broker was telling him was really true. In this case, at this time it wasn't. It appears many of the brokers provide the same stay away from pennies philosophy, My neighbors broker told him the same. Guess they don't make as much profit on their commission. I wonder what they will say when the company does secure the funding they want and it's in the $$ range. I think it'll be #$##% if only I had taken a nice position, I wouldn't have to work at this lousy job anymore. We aren't there yet but thanks to Barrymore for kicking this thing off. I like higher highs and higher lows. Todays activity was from only seven players by 3:30 and ~300K shares. Can't imagine what this'll do with scores of buyers and millions of shares trading. Oh wait, yes I can, and a nice picture it is. GLTA
I leave the country for a vacation and what happens? Stock wise nothing, board wise a falling out. I thank D5 for the thought but I prefer to stay behind the scene and am glad IHUB auto positioned P19 into the forefront to take the lead. When I get back I'll have even less time as we enter an outage that'll keep me busy 16 hours a day for the next month. Just signed on to see what was happening. Did find this http://apps.kaust.edu.sa/sites/SeedFund/Lists/SF%20Prequalification/AllItems.aspx?SortField=My%5Fx0020%5FVenture%5Fx0020%5Fwill%5Fx0025&SortDir=Asc&View=%7B440A61D1%2D2AD5%2D41DC%2D819C%2DD066F2BACDE1%7D&FilterField1=LinkTitle&FilterValue1=CSO
that is of interest and when you add it to this http://arabnews.com/saudiarabia/article26399.ece
the common denominator being KAUST and the allocation of funding, I think we may have a pretty significant shot. "This means that the potential for solar energy in Saudi Arabia is huge, and the Kingdom has enough money to start financing domestic solar energy projects."
Only time will tell.

If I remember correctly 100K shares to the IR firm that hasn't done squat to promote Solterra. Unless you consider saying, I can't tell you, a suttle form of promoting. I would hate to be a potential investor looking for info. Who knows what they're saying. I pressed Lauren not to long ago about what they're doing and she said all they are doing is the press releases, no marketing. Hell I can do press releases for $75. I thought they had the connection to the brokers that could really promote it to clients. Hope she's wrong, but since she works for the company I think she would know better. I hope I'm wrong.
Why it's wise to stay STEALTH! This is an excerpt from http://www.siliconbeat.com/entries/2004/11/13/qa_with_kleiner_perkins_caufield_byers.html If you saw the Bloomenergy box video in the previous post you'll recognize the name John Doerr.
Q: The venture capital survey shows a decline in VC investing (in the third quarter), but some suggest one reason may be artificial: Start-ups are trying to stay under the radar longer and not announcing their VC funding.
Doerr: The entrepreneurs want it that way. Ten years ago, as soon as a venture was funded by a reputable venture capitalist, within six months, two or three clone ventures would be launched like heat-seeking missiles right up their tailpipe. People got wise to that. Why should we say anything about what we're doing until we have happy customers, and we're ready to try to expand and grow our market? You see many more entrepreneurs wanting to remain in stealth mode for a long, long time. The smart ones, anyway.
According to John Doerr it appears Mr. Squires is right on the money.
Talk about SECRETIVE and not moving at the speed of light. I think you'll be pretty amazed! (It comes up automatically but it doesn't load at the speed of light, at least not on my computer.) http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=6228923n Maybe he was because of the conspiracy theory. Most new inventions you hear about that are too good to be true may be and then their inventor somehow has an accident or their lab has a fire. Not this one, its coming and will be one of the solutions along with TQ-Dots and flexible solar cells (we have the advantage of not needing fuel), talk about the Holy Grail and a bright future for the environment and benefiting mankind. Secretive may not be so bad after all.
